Rounded of the edges of the nut that fastens the blade to my echo trimmer, almost cut off my thumb attempting to get the nut off. Called ECHO and they recommended Wake Outdoor Equipment. Went to the store today, the gent (did not get his nme) took a look at it, took it back to teh shop in less than 10 minutes had removed the nut. Asked what I owed, he said $10.00, (would have easily paid $50.00), can I purchase some cotter keys-how many do you want, he gave me a handful; fixed broken nut, provided new one and handful of cotter keys-all for $10.00 and a friendly smile. This kind of service is unheard of today-so kind sir whatever your name-thanks a million-I would recommend to all!

After spending a half hour at a box store and knowing more about the equipment I wanted than the sales person, I stopped by Wake Outdoor and had EXACTLY what I wanted in that same half hour! Knows his stuff, believes in what he has, and backs what he sells. Great!

I bought a Shindaiwa 910 blower from Pat at Wake Outdoor Equipment in Raleigh. I initially I thought it was an overkill purchase as I only take care of my own property. However, my driveway is asphalt and it is over 500 feet long. I have centipede grass so it grows over the top of the asphalt. My first experiment was to edge the centipede along the edge of the asphalt driveway. After I edged I blew off the grass clippings with my new blower. It was unbelievable how well the blower absolutely devoured the grass clipping. I roughly measured and the effective distance was 30+ feet. I also did a dethatch test in my lawn. It was amazing - the blower literally lifted the thatch out of the turf making it simple to come along and gather up the thatch compared to conventional methods of dethatching. So even though it seemed initially like an overkill purchase, I now have a tool that I can be creative with and I’ll probably never have to buy another blower. Thanks Pat Newsome for your insight and for offering the best in lawn equipment.

Would not recommend small engine repairs here. Dropped off a pressure washer to get the carburetor replaced. Was told it would take two weeks. Received a call 4 weeks later, from Pat letting me know the RPMs on the motor was running out of idle, and it was not worth fixing. I told him to set the washer aside, I’d come pick the washer up. When I showed up, the washer had no carburetor, no spark plug, my wand, hose and all tips had vanished. When I asked Pat about the missing parts he no answer. In Pat’s own words, “Sorry, I don’t know how to help you”. Stay away from this place! Terrible service.

This is my first year in business and I have enjoyed working with Pat at Wake Outdoor. Pat has taken his time to explain why and what equipment I need. I have bought new and used equipment and have been very happy with sales and with service. Wake Outdoor has provided quick turn around times which saved us little down time. Pat also has shared his wealth of experience and great ideas about this industry. Im glad they treat the small business owners like myself just like the big guys. Thank you Pat. Pat is awesome great guy and awesome dealer. I purchased 2 Scag mowers from him last Fall and I have been very pleased with them and the service I have received. When I was looking at purchasing new mowers he was more than willing to talk to me about them and even let me take a couple out and use them for a day to see what I liked and what would work for me the best. Give Pat and Wake Outdoor Equipment a visit if you are looking a new mower or handheld equipment. Weather you are a pro or a home owner he has a mower that will fit your needs.

Wake Outdoor Equipment is amazing! Pat is honest and never tries to upsell me something I dont need. I have never bought a $10K mower from him but he treats me like I spend that every week. During his busy season the repair turn around time might be a few days but usually my equipment is ready the next business day. Pat is a straight shooter, so dont try to talk him into filing a warranty claim if its obvious that you messed up the equipment. My guys are really rough on the equipment so I expect to pay my fare share of repair bills. However 2 times I had a warranty or recalled part so the bill was zero when I picked up the equipment. Every other time the bill was reasonable and the equipment was back to work fast! I could keep going, but you get the point. Pat @ WOE is amazing!

We took our mower to not one but two locations to find out why the engine just stopped. both places told us the engine had to be replaced and it was going to be $400 and some odd change to replace it. We had just bought the mower in June so we were quite surprised when one spring day it just froze up. We reached out to the engine manufacturer for our Machine and they suggested we take it to Wake Outdoor equipment. Well I have to say we were quite surprised to here back the same day that the were able to get the machine up and running with no problems. And it did not cost us $400.00! Thank you Wake Outdoor Equipment. We are very happy customers.

I bought a Core electric blower from Pat for $350. Core offered a 5 year warranty so I figured $70 per year for a blower was a fair deal. The blower just quit working completely after 1 year. Pat replaced it with a used one. The used one quit after another year of good service. I took it back to Pat who still has it after about a year of the run around with empty promises from the Core distributer. Pat keeps telling me the Core distributer is going to refund my money and the checks in the mail. Still no check has come after being told checks in the mail six times. Dont believe the Core 5 year warranty claim. I got 2 years of service for $350. If you want electric go with a plug in. I bought a plug- in at a big box store for $75 when the run around started almost a year ago. Its still running good after a tough leaf season. $75 or less per year of service is way better than Cores $175 per year. If you want an electric blower go with the Toro plug in with the metal impeller. Stay away from Core battery powered models unless you like standing beside your mailbox and waiting for a check that never comes.

Please do not use this dealer!. I purchased over 2,000.00 in handheld equipment from this dealer and he seemed to be the nicest person to have as a vendor but oh was I wrong, after the purchase he treated us like crap everytime we came back in with a issue on the equipment we bought from him. He always turned the problem on us as if we did something to cause the faulty equipment he sold. The first visit he offered coffee and allowed us to use his bathroom. When we came back the after purchasing he told us his bathrrom was for the public, go figure. Now a trimmer I bought from him that is still under warranty he refuses to even try to file it under the warranty, he wants to make the repairs, i.e. a tune up and charge me for it. When I called up another dealer I was told he is wrong and to bring it to them and they will take care of it. I told him this and he told fine do what I have to do. I was so shocked at his low level of customer service. He did not even care. I have some other buddies that have bad experiences with this dealer also.

Pat Newsome said after I bought a new engine for my Ex-mark Turf Tracer that people who need work after buying 40K worth of equipment (warranty issues for bad products sold by him and his store) that they get priority over people who only spend $1700 for a new engine regardless of first come or wait time (So screw the small guy right?) Smh Of course he said this after I prepaid him per his policy because his company dont trust other local companys! But anyway before I gave him this $1700 he did say that my engine would be installed the day it came from shipping. After I waited a full afternoon after they received it I got a little annoyed that no work had been started yet, I am after all a small one mower business, but owned a larger 10 truck Lawn Care company in Tennessee (I am rebuilding it here in Raleigh) I have customers waiting now and my small money today leads to big money tomorrow goals should be motivation for him to retain a new loyal customer but he didnt care as he told me on the phone that if I didnt like it he can throw my new engine and my mower outside and after they close I can come get it and do the work myself, (lol really?) that he was tired of my wife calling asking the same stupid questions about when my mower would be done! (IKR) I mean I gave this guy $1700 upfront and he calls my wife stupid cause she called to make sure we werent getting screwed by the guy who requires a prepayment to do business with other local businesses. I should of known after all everyone else had a 2 week wait time and he didnt! (I guess he had plenty of availability with his one full time mechanic) With practices like these, My company nor myself could ever recommend this shady dealer! My advice is never trust a company who does not trust you first (except maybe a utility company) but at least with lawn care and its dealers you absolutely have a choice and I say find someone better! Like I told Pat right then and there flat out, I will never do business with Wake Outdoor Equipment again!
