Proceed with caution before hiring them. This is the kind of review I wish I saw before hiring them. I am not a picky or difficult person and relied on the near 5 star reviews others had posted but I regret hiring them to this day. I had them replace 7 windows and a sliding glass door a couple of years ago and the experience still bothers me. The sales guy didnt even show me options, discuss pros and cons of each product, or explain the window features. The windows they installed have cheap locks that I cant even use because they get stuck. They installed a slider that was several inches smaller than the original with no explanation about the gap. They were still doing the install 2 hours after dark without any lighting set up because they would only do it all in one day even though they take out all the windows first and then they start installation one by one. This was January - it was freezing. I even watched one of the installers make a mistake and he glanced back at me to see if I noticed. I didnt say anything to see if he would own up to it and he moved on and I had to call it out to him. The expert they sent out to correct the poor caulking and seals on the interior from the install talked on his cellphone the whole time - shoulder to ear to hold the phone in place so he didnt even use both hands/arms to do the work and what he did still left gaps and I ended up telling him to just leave the material and I would do it myself. I contacted them last week about an issue with an exterior seal on one of the windows and about getting the same window for another window - hoping they would fix the one and the locks and do a better job on the new window. One online request and another email and 5 days later still no response.

I had CECS provide new windows and siding for my home. Not only was their bid competitive, they were the most personable and friendly. I felt good working with them. The results speak for themselves, my home looks the best it ever has.

The quality performance was ridiculous, one person, whom seemed drunk, continuously fell off the ladder and the person in charge allowed him to continue to keep working. As well as seeming to skip certain steps and seemed like a rushed job. Hoping my windows don’t leak! It seems like these reviews are inaccurate as if only employees or the only good job reviews are left on here! Doesn’t seem like an honest business!

California Energy was great. We are really happy with our new system in Curtis Park. Our electrical bill is down at least $100 per month consistently, and we are SO SO SO much more comfortable. We sleep better. The kids seem happier. Its really improved our quality of life. Thank you all very much, Cal Energy.Everybody was courteous, friendly, and easy to work with. They got us over $11,000 in SMUD rebates, and fully modernized our electrical, mechanical, and insulation systems in our 95-year old house. We had to work through several change orders, and rearrange financing between Ygrene/Pace and direct cash payments. Cal Energy made it super easy. Would definitely recommend the team at Cal Energy.

This is a company that cares about their customers and takes that extra step to make all customers satisfied with confidence, this is something you dont see with other companies were they dont make every effort to satisfy a customer which is fading away less and less all the time. Its great to be able to find a good quality company nowadays and here you found one.

We had the pleasure of working with CECS recently for both our windows and our water heater. I probably asked Ben Young a 1000 questions about a new heat pump hybrid water heater, among other projects. Although I didnt end up with quite the right mix of energy efficiency projects to get rebates, Ben had a solid breakdown of options if I added in a couple of other upgrades. Dave Robson fielded at least as many of my questions about new windows and was a joy to work with throughout the process. Their patience was legendary and response times on texts, calls, and e-mails outstanding.Jason Kompa (Komp Construction) and his son ended up doing the install on the water heater and an EV circuit and were fast, professional, and tidy. They also didnt mind my endless bevy of questions.On the windows side of the project, Rafael & Ernie were about as tidy as could be with all of the stucco work that needed to be done for our new construction windows. True craftsman! Inside the building, David did a lovely job with the drywall and texture match after we had to alter a couple of minor architectural details.Turbo (Ismael) and Jose were very efficient with the window install. Whats more, when I asked about how to take care of some minor construction messy spots and how to clean them up myself, I came back to find that Turbo took it on himself to clean up messes that werent his to begin with!Outstanding service throughout the process, in our estimation. They werent the lowest bid we received but well definitely use them in the future. Finally, Id note that Ive never had a construction project in any house that Ive lived in or worked on that didnt have a bump somewhere. Every contractor is great when things are going smooth. The differences Ive seen have all come down to how the contractors handled the bumps. With COVID impacts to building material prices, availability, and transport, I can say that these guys handle the oddball issues with the best of them.

We have now used California Energy Consultant Service for two large jobs on our house and one for a family member. CECS has replaced, a roof, HVAC, windows, siding, gutters, added insulation, done exterior painting, and repaired dry rot.Their prices have been reasonable, the men on the jobs have always been polite and clean, and the work has been top notch. Plus, Gary, Jamie, and Issac have always been quick to respond to any questions we had, Jamie even solved a last minute bad decision on paint color for us!I have and will continue to recommend CECS to anyone I know looking for this type of home renovation work!Barbara T.

I love my whole house fan! PrIor to installation, I was concerned about my indoor air quality because I have allergies. I was also aware my electric bill would be climbing high in summer with the rate increase. I have actually noticed a reduction in my allergy symptoms, reduction in my electric bills, and NO extra dust in my house that people thought I would have. The cool air helps me sleep better at night too. It’s nice coming home to a cool home after work when it has been a triple-digit day! He also assisted us with some other items which also turned out great!We have also used CECS for emergency HVAC services and Tyler got us back up and running quickly during triple digits in July. The team did a great job on our barn and even build in a kitty door for our cats. They were timely, professional and always listened to questions and explained what they were doing. Their idea for the kitty door was even better than our idea. They also installed the siding on our houses and we were very pleased with their work then (about 4 years ago). Once we got the ball rolling on the projects Cal Energy was going to do to our home, everything was great and we have been happily living with upgraded windows/sliders, attic insulation and new duct work for the furnace/AC over the last year. California Energy Consultant far exceeded our expectations The siding was done by Artists, true master craftsmen. The new roof was completed within 3 or 4 days and they put finishing touches on, on a Sunday! The house is so airtight now, over a 30% improvement of when we started. The windows and doors are beautiful, and what a pleasure it is to have screens. We have a brand new house to come home to!

We needed a large portion of our siding replaced. Gary from California Energy Consultant Service came to our house a couple of times to carefully identify the work needed. The second time he brought his work supervisor Paul to make sure that all three of us were on the same page. The work was done exactly as specified and at a very high level of quality. The trim boards were kiln dried and primed on all sides as Gary had promised. The crew was obviously very skilled and efficient. I will not hesitate to recommend them or use them again. All the work was done as promised and on schedule. New windows, new insulation, and ducts sealed. The workmen were hardworking, conscientious and polite. The office staff communicated regularly by phone and email. The company applies for the SMUD and PG&E rebates so I didn’t have to. I am very happy with the work.

We just got new Air Conditioning and I cant say enough about California Energy and their team of professionals! From day one, they did a thorough walk through of our home and showed us where we could get more energy efficient. They showed us our options and pricing and I felt like they were very upfront and professional. We decided to get the new air conditioning system, new insulation and duct work. They even added new registers to our problem rooms. Now we have an amazing new AC system where each room has its own thermostat! Our bill has dropped already! I highly recommend this whole team!

I used Cal Energy for my windows on my duplex 10 years ago so when it was time to replace my HVAC I gave them a call. I learned that SMUD was offering amazing rebates for HVAC, insulation, water heaters and electrical panels and that I could get most of the rebates for both sides of my duplex. Of course this sounds too good to be true, but it was absolutely true. I hired CECS to do the complete package switching over to all electric and upgrading the electrical panels on both sides of my 60 year old duplex. Jamie the manager of the department reached out to me to go over all the details and how the project would flow, and we set a schedule. All the workers and installers ( Jason, John, Joe, Johnny and Cody ) were very efficient, friendly, and all and all great to work with. CECS even took care of all the paperwork for the SMUD rebates. I couldnt be happier with them as a company and would recommend them to any one looking to do a HVAC or home performance project.

Just amazing service and integrity!we recently had to replace the gas control valve on our central heater for $343, and then it conked out again a month later. the original work was done by Youngs Heating & Air, but they recently went out of business. several of their staff have moved to California Energy. the technician who came out (Tyler) told us that his new employer would cover the warranty for the failed valve, even though it was by the previous company that went out of business.we are now back to enjoying toasty warm air from the furnace, and amazed by the generosity of California Energy who covered a warranty that they didnt have to.now that shows integrity, send em your business!

I went to CECS to see if I could find a replacement part for a lock on my patio slider. I spoke to Jamie and she said they did not carry the line. But here is the awesome part, she knew the line and that a friend of hers works there and asked for his help. She kept the lock, took pics reached out and a couple of days later handed me a brand new replacement part. This is amazing customer service, she could have easily left it at we do not carry that line. We have been working with CECS since they installed our windows/doors in 2003 and then again in 2012 for the remainder of our home. We have found them to be professional, efficient, have excellent workmanship and quality, accommodating, and friendly :). We immediately noticed that our home was cooler in the summer and warmer in winter, thus keeping our energy bills down. Recently they had to replace the screen on a sliding door, add a pet grate, and replace the slider lock because of our anxious puppy...we so appreciate Lisas help and CECS staff assisting us with this! :)
