My van broke down while traveling through Raton, N. M. The repairs were extensive, but Bruce and crew did a wonderful job.. and went above and beyond the call of duty. I highly recommend this place.

Cant say enough good things about this place! Showed up before they opened and the owner was all over my Tahoes symptoms. OnStar said it was a switch and all kinds of stuff although our guy at A&M went to the basics. $112 and I was out in 20 mins.Said his dad opened the shop in the 1950s. It was clean and organized with a mix of old school and new technologies.Such a great, straight forward experience...hope you dont need to see them professionally however I highly recommend if you do!

On our way back to Texas, we had issues with our radiator, hoses and a funky coupler. Shane and Bruce were quick and efficient with fixing our auto so we could get back on the road! Pricing was appropriate as well! Thanks to them!

My family and I were on our way to Roswell last weekend for my birthday. Unfortunately, we broke down just north of Raton. It was Saturday evening, so we got the car into Raton and rented a car. Knowing we couldnt do anything until Monday, we decided to get as far as Santa Fe for our trip. Early Monday morning we headed back to Raton. We made a couple of calls, and no one could look at it car that day. We live in southern Colorado and had to get back for work. We called A&M Repair and they for us right in. We were so thankful! It took some time to figure out the problem, because things in my family are never easy! They let us keep our luggage in their waiting room while we took the rental car back. We totally took over the waiting room for many hours and they were so kind. A little before 5pm, they were done and we were ready to head home. The mechanic told us he was going to stay until it was fixed and I think he would have! It certainly was not the birthday trip I expected, but this company made sure it wasnt completely ruined! Thank you all, so much!

We were on our way home from a skiing vacation when we had major issues with my cooling system. A&M got us in, helped us come up with the best solution for our situation and had us back on the road back to Texas in less than two hours. Amazing work!!

We broke down in the highway and Jodys wrecker service suggested A&M repair. We dropped off our truck after hours and by 10 the next morning it was fixed and for a fair price. Highly recommend.

We limped into this place on our road trip. We picked it out based on ratings. $111.00 later we left and ended up limping into the next town because apparently nothing was repaired very well and unfriendly people working there. Big thumbs down!

Spoke with mechanic by phone and in person for qoute on exhaust problems. Mechanic admitted lack of expertise for exhaust systems and tools. Quote was reasonable-but did not use them due to engines being more to their experience and equipment.

My 1998 dodge van was giving me problems with the uphill climb of Raton Pass and I pulled into Raton for a look. I found Bruce and Sean through their google reviews and what I thought was going to be a 2K rear end job tuned out to be a $169 4 hour fix.I was back on the road and home to CA in no time. They are the best. My only wish is that they lived closer to me so I could get the van checked out more often by these two pros.

*I chose A & M because I didnt want to drive the pass before getting new tires and an alignment. I brought my Suburban in at my appointment time. 3.5 hours later I realized I had made a mistake. Keep reading...it gets a little crazy...*I needed 4 new tires (that I provided) mounted and balanced, and an alignment after having put new front end steering and suspension parts on. I am not sure why that took 3.5 hours, but hey, if the the job is done right, its worth the wait, right? Well, the technician broke one of the studs on our hub while taking the wheel off. He apparently had a heck of a time mounting our tires, blaming it on the fact that they are thick, hard rubber. Well this is New Mexico, I am sure you have dealt with light truck tires before.I came away from the shop with a broken stud, a newly bent wheel (which they said was that way before, but I can assure you it wasnt, because the wobble it causes is insane and Im PRETTY sure we would have noticed it), a faulty alignment that pulled left hard (no pull at all before the said alignment), and tires that he said were un-balanceable. I cried the whole way home because I was so angry and frustrated (and maybe because I was extremely pregnant and maybe just a little bit emotional..).First thing the next morning I was there again because I realized it was completely ridiculous to just accept the fact that my vehicle was in WORSE condition than it had been when I brought it to them. The shop owner, Bruce, was unsympathetic and argumentative. I finally held my keys out to him and said You take it for a drive and when you come back, tell me that you would let your 8-month pregnant wife or daughter drive this thing. Suddenly he decided to fix the faulty alignment and the broken stud. However, he would not accept that the wheel had been bent by his technician. He said the wobble was caused by my big, heavy, hard tires that weighed 100 lbs each. They actually weigh 54 lbs each, like normal 10-ply LT tires. And the tires that had just been pulled off were just as big and heavy. The technician told me how hard of a time he had with my tires. Was it during the mounting that the wheel got bent? I dont know, I wasnt watching, though I guess I should have been. Two days later I took the vehicle to Main Street Auto in Trinidad. They mounted and balanced my tires AGAIN, the technician had left rubber molding sticking out that they didnt feel was safe. And they pulled a LOT of balancing weights off of my right front and right rear tires/wheels, Im talking around 4 lbs. worth! The technician at A&M must have just kept adding and adding weight for whatever reason. Guess what? My tires ARE balanceable! They balanced perfectly with just a few ounces, like normal tires.I returned all of A&Ms weights to them just today, and again Bruce was confrontational and talked to me like I was stupid. I may be a woman, but I do know just a little bit about this stuff. But apparently he thinks it is ok to talk down to females...We are now waiting for the delivery of a new wheel ($160), new lug nuts since our stud broke off in ours ($24), and we are out the cost of the mount and balance to fix what A&M messed up ($41). Absolutely the worst experience I have EVER had with a mechanic. I wouldnt use A&M to wash my windshield. Take my advice, go to Main Street Auto in Trinidad, or Cunico Tire in Raton. The guys at A&M are careless and do sloppy work. I cant believe they are still in business.

I have been going to A&M for several years. I trust their advice and I will continue going. Especially for our company truck which A&M help us keep it running when we have unexpected issues.Bruce has also went above and beyond to work late and has even open up on a day off to get us on the road.Thank you for all you’ve done here in Raton A&M.
