What the hell is up with this location?! Seriously?! I have heard internal skut about the store manager. Is he the problem? Does the DC have an issue with this location? Morale seems to be at an all time low. The people at the deli are more interested in talking to each other than helping customers. I saw an employee in the meat dept. go off on a customer who was looking for a special cut. Products have not been on the shelves for months, yet other locations have them. Honestly, I am becoming more than slightly annoyed with taking the chance that they MIGHT have what I need today game. Ive been a Team Arthur member for years but, Im going to have to back to the Danvers store.

First time and last time I will go here. I’ve heard good things about Market Basket so I gave it a shot. They had a lot of stuff but that’s about the only good thing I can say. It felt cramped, was fairly messy/cluttered, and there were employees walking around everywhere and none of them gave me the right of way, even with a baby carrier in my cart. On top of that, the person at the register didn’t say a word to me or really acknowledge my existence. Plenty of better options in the area so I’ll survive but I would not recommend this store to anyone.

Quick and good with getting all the products I needed.

The products here are great. They have just about everything. The cashiers are always nice and baggers also friendly.

This is my favorite Market Basket location. Biggest selection and fast service.

If you dont remember to bring your OWN bags, be prepared for paper....Or buy there plastic for $.10 each. They also offer reusable bags ranging from $.99 - $3.99 each.

The Reading store is a nicer store than others like Revere and Woburn which are managed by a bully and slob respectively.

Crowded but still the best place to shop

Market basket is easily the best grocery chain in MA. Prices are reasonable, meats and produce are generally good quality, and the MB store brand products are great. My only criticism is I wish they had more fresh local seasonal produce. Even in summer it is always the Driscoll or other Cali strawberries. Still, Ill shop here over stop & shop every time.

Great supermarket with wonderful deals and excellent selections. The produce is fresh, the prepared food is yummy, and the employees are helpful. I only wish they also had supermarket locations in the heart of Boston!

The new cashiers are no comparison to the elderly women who worked there previously. I am certain that the new cashiers are intelligent, they just do not speak or understand English very well. I guess that now I have to take Spanish lessons to shop there. They are on their cell phones and speaking and laughing with their friends at the register while people are in the check-out line. Disappointed with the change for the worse. Every time I check out there is an issue. But it was fun today as MB was playing all music in Spanish. I cant wait for the Mariachi band.

Things at this location are more expensive than other locations. Keep this in mind when shopping here. (Same exact stuff is one or a couple dollars more)

Saturday morning in the pouring rain - a great time to hit Market Basket! Fully staffed, no wait to check out, and, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MONTHS, both Moxie and overflowing aisles of name-brand paper products!!

Prices could be better, but its close by, Usually split my shopping between this place and the Shop & Shop next door.

Supermarket with all the staple items. Busy but it is to be expected.

You cant beat their grilled chicken (this pertains to all Market Baskets)! It is really good!

This place is my life. I work here, so Im biased. However, Market Basket is like a family and I love shopping in Reading.

Always top quality and freshness. Associates were polite and smiling.

Love the prices, but Im pretty convinced I got sick when I bought precooked food recently. So I wasnt happy with that. My biggest concern though was the place was packed and I was only buying 2 things and they had a 75 year old Karen working the express line and she was having full blown conversations for 5 minites at a time and was moving like a turtle. The whole point of express is to be able to move quick through the line. I think its time to get her off the register. She was at register #1

I know of a few people who think they got covid there. Too crowded

Good location. Large variety of products. Helpful staff. Has a cafe section with hot meals ready to eat. Lots of parking

The only reason I’m giving any stars is because the workers that helped me were very nice.Otherwise, thumbs down.Worst MB I’ve ever shopped at.Super busy which is to be expected, but wicked narrow isles and stocking in every isle. Great selection of tasty groceries and whatnot. However there was a lack of sawdust on the floor. There used to be loads of it in the good ol days...I guess times have changed.

Always a good shopping experience. The Market Kitchen is always polite and provides great lunch. The gentleman who always helps me with my lunch (Harrison) provides excellent customer service. Even when there is a long line of customers he is focused on making sure my food is prepared properly.

Market Basket in Reading is a great store. I save so much money every time I go there. More value for the price paid. I try to get there early, because as the day wears on, it can be a rather hectic shopping experience. The deli counter is very busy but fully staffed and they take care of customers as fast as possible. Parkings an absolute bear when the store is busy, but dont give up. Spaces open up pretty quickly. Ive shopped at the other supermarkets and theyre a lot more expensive than Market Basket. Ive become a fan since my first visit to a Market Basket supermarket!

Love Market Basket in Reading MA. Great selection of produce, meats and all of your other grocery needs. You definitely save money shopping here compared to the other big competitors. I prefer driving 15 minutes to tax free Salem New Hampshire to shop at the Market Basket there. It is great.

Very good...helpful workers

It was scary but I did it. Under cover of darkness made it easier. It was an early evening crowd and everyone seemed to be enjoying the low prices. As far as I could tell no one pushed a shopping cart into my car.

Way Too small. Too crowded all the time. Need another store in the area. Maybe melrose or malden.

They dont sell latin goods such as sweet bread and other items, while the store in Lynn, do sell the above goodies.

Amazing!! This morning I went to Market Basket Reading with my 8 month old son. He was in his car seat so he took up much of my shopping cart. I was lucky enough to get into Kim’s line along with Sally. These two girls were very polite and courteous, but they went way over the top. Because my son took up most of the cart Sally went and got another cart for my groceries. The manager Tony covered for Sallys bagging responsibilities while Sally walked with the other cart to the lot. Then she helped load my groceries so I could tend to my son. This was the best service I have ever received anywhere!!It’s very difficult to shop with infants and you made it easy.Thank you all for showing me and my son the care we needed at the time.❤️❤️❤️Jim

Fresh produce, great deli, meats and seafood, Italian provisions and pastries, ...a wonderful place!

As always Market Basket never disappoints. The selections are pretty good and they really keep all the produce fresh. One advice, avoid shopping on the weekends for this location. It gets crazy busy that you would shop for 30 mins and then wait another 30 to pay.

I dont do a lot of grocery shopping but when I do I only go to market basket. Ask anyone who works there where a specific item is and they tell you exactly where it is. For example down isle 2 half way down on the bottom right. Plenty of people to help not like other places. Good job Market Basket employees.

One if my favorite Grocery Store Chain, lovely staff, great food and convenient locations, not to mention, lower prices.This particular store however does not have enough handicapped parking slots. I had to spend half my lunch hour driving around until I got a parking space.Secondly, they sell awesome hot meals but nowhere is there a sitting area to eat it. I had to walk back to my car to eat the food. In the middle of it all, because I walk with a cane, the Sprite Soda I purchased was shaken up and when I went to open it to drink it overflowed all over my lower front, my lap and it soaked my pants and underwear. A very uncomfortable situation. I Live in Marlborough, so I was far from home to change. If the store had a seating area this would not have happened.I cant blame the store for the mishap. I highly recommend the store. Positive experience indeed.

Just as bad as woburn store, full of arrogant people who dont follow the arrows and think they are the only ones in the store.

Great and fresh veggies. Meat is decent even if in my culture we wash meat before cooking it anyway. Find all my foreign ingredients there.

Very busy grocery store and they are very huge

I love Mkt Baskets but prefer the ones that still use plastic bags. I use and reuse plastic bags in many ways, the final one usually for dog poop disposal. I do not look fwd to the day (prob. coming soon) when we all have to spend money for special bags for that.

Store is clean, and prices are great. Good selection. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired - often staff doesnt know what Im asking about, (I would expect someone in seafood to know what Gulf shrimp are) or doesnt know where something is (telling me its on either 2, or 6, or 7 isnt exactly helpful). Most of the staff seem to say first year so perhaps theyre inexperienced. Often out of items listed in the weekly flyer, and Ive been repeatedly told they didnt get or have never had items listed on the flyer.

Great selection a at affordable prices

The only bad thing I can say about Market Basket is that its sometimes very crowded as compared to the Stop & Shop next door. That said, you cant beat the prices at MB and I love that the predominately teenage staff is trained to be courteous, polite and helpful. I also love that their store brand chicken (raw & rotisserie) is antibiotic free. Finally, I love that there are no self check-out lanes and this chain does its part to keep jobs available.

Everything here was well stocked. Not overcrowded, I came in around 7:30am. Prices are reasonable. Overall I would come back again.

Compared to the other markets, they know what theyre doing, elderly, went early, loved the music, came out relaxed

Market Basket has been my grocery store chain since I was a kid, and this one is the best. Their food choices are incredible, catered to the community they serve. Cinco De Mayo tortillas - fresh made in Chelsea - are a perfect example of their attention to community and quality products. Their employees, including many local students, are always kind and professional. One time I left my wallet in a cart outside in a cart coral... one of the cart collectors returned it to customer service for me. I mean, you can’t ask for more in a grocery store.

I shopped here on April 26th, well into the Covid-19 pandemic. I would estimate that 75% of the employees were not wearing masks. Id say that 25% of the customers were not wearing masks. In addition, I think they set the store capacity too high because despite their reminders over the speaker about social distancing, it was completely impossible there today. Im astonished that Market Basket has not set a store policy of masks for all employees and customers. Even stores like Home Depot are doing this. I have read that Stop & Shop has such a policy now, so Ill be going there.

At the market kitchen counter, I ordered a sandwich which was supposed to contain ham. But the ham was missing. From the dairy Department, I bought an item and was overcharged. Thats 2 errors in a $30 order

Okay first and foremost Im one to choose market basket over stop & shop any day UNLESS Im looking for a brand name item that I know stop & shop exclusively sells. The problem is the lines! Theyve been so bad lately! Theres at least 5-6 people in each line and your standing there for 20 minutes waiting to check out. Its a mad house. But you cant beat the prices. And their in house cooking I think tops any other grocery store around. The rotisserie chicken is awesome. You dont need a special card either to get good deals which is always a plus. Hopefully they dont end up doing that. The other reason why I gave it three stars is stocking...they need to hire people to do it at night. You should never have people with their huge pallets out on the floor unless needed during store hours. It just caused mayhem and a lot of craziness. If they would utilize their check out lanes and open them all up and hire over night stock people it would be five stars all day.

Prices are great people who show up there counseling bung up the aisles with their carts so they can go shop while their cart sits in the middle of the aisle.

Yesterday was okay, but I dont like the way they put anything on the shelves just so they look full - terrible turn off to a store. If you dont have an item own up to it and dont make your customers dig through what is there and make a mess. Leave the shelf empty.

The Market Basket in Reading is my favorite one... Not too crowded this morning at 7:15!!! Got ALL of my grocery shopping done within the hour, so I could get home, put the food away, and get to work by 9:00 AM.Meat, dairy, grocery, and produce people are very friendly AND helpful...One of the women in PRODUCE helped me get a beautiful oversized bunch of KALE into a bag (it wasnt easy!)There IS another Market Basket closer to my house, but I prefer Reading, MA

I went there in the morning and I was impressed casher wearing masks and gloves..2 weeks ago no masks and no gloves and I was insulted by girl who was bagging groceries cause I told her she should wear mask and gloves..Progress is Good 👍

Had a lot of variety in hot food but few things like dumplings and crab Rangoon missing which are easily available in Wilmington, also the dessert from cheesecake factory is Missing here. But good meat selection

Prices were much better before the corporate shake-up. Difficult to navigate around the store since staff is constantly in the way with big carts stocking merchandise. Over most prices are better than other supermarkets still

Beware - cashier Carolyn was nasty and sarcastic! But bagger was very nice. Usually a good place to shop.

Excellent prices, crazy shoppers. Checkout lines move pretty quick, no self checkout. They dont carry every brand or style and some weeks they have it and some they dont. Overall a great selection. If youre looking for something and its not there, talk to a manager to see if they can get it in.Best way to shop is to leave the cart in a safe spot and run up and down the aisles.

There are few grocery stores like Market Basket, as evidenced by the strike by workers in support of management. The quality of product is superb, as are the prices and the overall experience. They pack in the product, so dont expect to have much personal space. But the store is marvelous.

The store is always packed early morning late evenings and every day of the week, all that said I still prefer to ship here because overall the store had better prices then any other grocery store around and it does not sacrifice brands of items to do so. I also the the a la carte cafe where you can pick up prepared meals to go both cold and hot ready to eat

Possibly the best combination of price and service in this industry. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The checkout lines are very quick and their prices cant be beat. I was unaware of the brand until I moved to MA, but I wouldnt shop anywhere else.

I just bought a $51.00 prime rib today! It’s very tough and unflavorful! If I didn’t have a guest I would of brought it back to store but she said let’s tough it out ! So we ate half now it’s going to the dog! I never have a problem at Woburn store. Unfortunately I was in Reading store today and purchased it there!

The Kitchen has great subs and sandwiches. It has one of the best steak bombs in the area!

It’s a real shame that some people shop anyplace other than Marketbasket. When I shop at stop and shop or Shaw’s I typically spend $25-30 more for weekly groceries. There is always a Tom of helpful staff at this location - stocking the shelves and at the checkout. They actually bag your groceries properly and everyone is smiling, and acts as if they actually like their job! It’s also local company that cares about its workers. Sure - the place is often packed which can be stressful for shoppers - but it’s worth it.
