A great little shop with fair prices. The people were nice and theres also a great selection of rocks! If youre a rock hound, this shop is dangerous as you can easily spend all your money lol. *Also* They only accept cash, so make sure you have some. If youre into rocks, its definitely worth the stop!
They are never open! I called yesterday and was told they would be open today at 11. I went with my 3 year old who was so excited to get a thunder egg got there at 11:15 No one was there. I called a couple times no answer. My kiddo was so disappointed.
The owner makes beautiful polished display pieces and spheres. They also have an extensive amount of rough outside for $3 a pound. There is a lot from Oregon, but plenty from all over. He has enormous boulders of all kinds on display with prices in the parking lot. I enjoyed the giant birdbaths of slabs.
The owners are very knowledgeable and really friendly. They have a wide variety of raw material that you can purchase by the pound as well as rocks that have been crafted (cut and or shaped in order to display). There are some beautiful pieces for exhibit only and the grounds are big enough to really streach your legs so its worth a stop!
This shop is great, and the owner is great, I like him because this is his retirement, this is what he does for fun. He is a dry old fellow, but nice enough, just dont expect him to bend over backwards to kiss your arse, because thats not why he has this place. He has a passion for minerals and he wants to share it with the world. Most of the spheres and slabs in his shop have been hand made and polished by him. Its well worth the stop, I always stop in when I am coming through, even though most of what is there doesnt change very often, I stop in because its nice to get away from the brown nosing corporate ass-kissers every now and then and just be able to look around at some amazing stuff. So adjust your expectations, take note that if the owner has had a long day and wants to leave early he is going to without apologizing to you about it, and with that in mind stop in nice and early and take in a long lifetime of passion for rocks and minerals that this man is sharing. Also, you wont find a better price on break-your-own quartz geodes, hunks of rose quartz, polished ammonites and the occasional megalodon tooth.
Mel and Jerry clearly love what they do! Beautiful people who have a beautiful shop. They cut and polish their rocks and they do a fantastic job. Worth the stop. Dont leave Bend without visiting them.
Awesome selection of local specimens. Lots of Jaspers and Agates.
Very nice people. Friendly and knowledgeable. Give yourself a lot of time to look around because there is so much to see!!
I go into get stones for making pendants.. I love the various colors and shapes..Also being local to shop for hands on is a must. With the pendant made, I match colors to with either glass beads or small rocks.. Very awesome owners, make me feel comfortable everytime I shop there..
