Highly knowledgeable staff, and beautiful clean location with price ranges from the novice to expert musician!!Even if you dont play yet, I highly recommend taking a walk in the store just to enjoy the musicians in the making testing out their equipment!!!

They were closed at 5:00pm on a Thursday when their sign clearly stated they are open until 900pm, with no other explanation.This is not the first time something like this has happened. I make a long trip out of my way to do business. I will find another store that is open regular hours. I should not have to call to verify!Update/edit: Goodbye Guitar Center! They are forcing customers to wear masks. Good luck with that policy. Ill not return. I played along with the charade too long already. I havent worn a mask in MANY months. Guitar center is always excellent. One of my favorite places. Great guys who know their product and are musicians in their own rights. Mostly all of my music needs have come from Guitar Center.

Don’t buy equipment made in China… or you will be sorry you bought it with in that next 30 days.Never had such issues in the past 20 years playing and purchasing…it is what it is but make sure you buy products made in Europe or USA period, if you want quality over price… don’t buy equipment from China!Yes Guitar center sells a lot of equipment made in China.

I had the misfortune of dealing with a rude, unhelpful, passive-aggressive salesperson who was far more interested in enforcing a pointless mask-mandate policy than he was answering any questions I may have had regarding their limited, overpriced inventory. We just stopped in to buy strings and cords, but ended up having their guitar tech at the Repair counter do the work for us and we’re really pleased with how available and affordable it was.

Awesome service even in the midst of these crazy times. Jason helped me out and got me hooked up with a new guitar. Tested out a couple different ones, checked a couple amps. He even went in the back to grab a soft case for it because they were out of hard shells. Just to make the trip home without any dings. Thanks again yall!

We got GREAT service here. We were looking for an electric drum set for my son and the guy pointed us in the right direction. He hooked us up with a great beginners set that made my son a very happy drummer!

Clinton told me that it was 200 off of a 1000 dollar purchase. I purchased a roland juno 88 and some cables. Clinton was very kind and added in a stand for free! Unfortunately, when I got it home, 3 hours away, I noticed scratches on the back of the keyboard. To make matters worse, the power supply was in a Great Value zip lock bag. I am/was beyond angry. I PURCHASED A NEW UNIT BUT WAS GIVEN A USED/RETURNED ITEM! I am having the unit driven back to Reno tomorrow. Fortunately/unfortunately I have to work and cant go and confront them over this BS. This type of thing should NEVER happen.

Really cool staff. Eventhough you would initially see the guitar center brand as one of corporate mass production. Due to the unique group of employees, the atmosphere within is anything but. Theyre personable, talented, experienced, and knowledgeable about every continent in the world of music. Ive never had a bad experience there.

While I was building my studio the staff were 100% helpful. They were very knowledgeable, and helped me every step of the way. They were also understanding when I had to return some of my equipment three months after I purchased it. I recommend shopping here if you are trying to build a studio, and need to learn the nuts and bolts of it all.

Ok, now the guitar center is always has always and will always be the best ... Im dead serious they always deliver wen i need my new Akai equipment, Akai or die .... lol

Went down there the other day to buy a snare drum and a piano. Carson helped me out, and he was the best! He spent so much time helping me find the perfect setup, and he didn’t pressure me into anything. The guys at the store are also really good about social distancing and cleaning.

I went to Guitar Center to return an item. I was going to use this item on my guitar; however, the directions in LARGE BOLD PRINT said Do Not use on my make of guitar. The reason it said do not use on my guitar was the finish would be eaten off and it would make it very messy.I went up to the cashier told him I would like to exchange this item for another of the same, please. The guy asked me, Why? What was wrong with that one? I explained the reason (above) that the finish on my guitar would be eaten off if I use on my brand of guitar. The guy became very hostile and aggressive. He said to me, You can use it on your guitar. He exclaimed he never heard that before. I told him I would like a similar one. So, off he went and got another one. It took him a minute or so. He finally came back. I asked him if I could open it he yes I could. As I was starting to open it, he said to me, if you ruin my box you just bought it! If you even tear or do anything to that box you just bought it. I reassured him I am not going to ruin it. He started off that that item wont hurt my guitar nor will eat up my guitar etc. He kept rambling on to himself. I got the directions out just to make sure it didnt say in big Bold Print not use it. I told the guy I will make the exchange. He then got aggressive again saying What, you dont trust me? You dont trust a guy from a music store? You trust a guy who has been in music for many many years? He kept going on and on.I will Never go back there again. Thats not customer service!

Extremely rude and short on the phone. Rushed and impersonal. I didn’t even feel like I was allowed to ask any other questions. Wish there was a Sam Ash around so I wasn’t basically forced to go here.

I love Guitar Center. They advertised Elixir strings and didnt have them. They sold me a nice set of DAddarios Phosphorus 11s though. I 👍 liked them fine too. Next set... Cleartone 10s.

If you find a Guitar Center that doesnt have an Orange display its fake news, run away. This store has been recently renovated and has added some rooms for lessons and such. Customer service is always great and never snobby at this particular store. Selection on the new stuff is good, used equipment can be very interesting and painful to the budget.

They are always ready to give the best deals possible. If I can help it, I never go anywhere else

My husband and I love this store. We have bought all our musical instruments here. Recently we placed an online order for 2 items and 1 of them was wrong. We took it back to the store and the manager went ABOVE & BEYOND to make the situation right. The customer service here is A+ and I would recommend everyone I know here. Went to the Reno store on Friday 11/13/20 to purchase a set of dobro resonator strings as well as a couple other items, as seen on the guitar center online site. Asked the salesman where to find dobro strings. He stated all acoustic strings are the same, they are over there. The man never got up from his stool, just nodded his head in a direction.(he was not helping anyone at the time). We looked, not finding the strings, moved over to guitar parts, hoping to get the other needed equipment. After making eye contact, when the guy finally looked up, he just went back to messing on his computer again. Lost our sale. We have successfully shopped at this chain many times before, with knowledge, helpful staff. This guy was not one of them.

Brutal. The worst GC ever. This GC is on the brink of closing. The writing is on the wall. The employees look at you like? How dare you come in here! The inventory is half gone. Just close the store. This place gives GC a bad name.

Guitar Center is great, I went in looking to spend about 4000$ in drum equipment and when I had asked about the very first item I was looking for the trash employee told me “I don’t think we have that.” Before he even finished his sentence he was walking away. Purchase from local shops if possible as this place is a joke.

Great experience

During Covid, you would think the phones would be a primary source of income for them. Not once have they ever picked up my phone call. I would have totally made them a nice large sale but not anymore.

There was a very helpful sales associate in the back Electronics area who not only helped me pick out an audio interface, he also explained how it worked. Its rare to go into a retail store these days and have sales people who are actually knowledgeable.

Had a frustrating experience last weekend. Came in today and got quality one on one time with their CSM, Rachel. Coming from someone who used to be a GM in Retail for many years, I can honestly say that Rachel displayed a rare, genuine quality of passion and knowledge in the job as well as the guitars they were selling. Rachel renewed my interest in learning guitar, and showed me many different styles to choose from and how each one can sound a little different based on the wood used.Rachel created an amazing experience and I left very appreciative and thankful.

We didnt find what we were looking for, a trumpet. But, they gave names from other music store in the area.They were very helpful.

In the twenty years since I first set foot in the Guitar Center in Arlington Heights, IL, Ive been to several others: Tempe, AZ; Los Angeles, CA; and Redondo Beach, CA.The one in Reno, NV, is, by far, the best Guitar Center Ive ever been to. And that comes down to the awesome team assembled there. Sean, Aaron, Jaden, Jason, Rachel, Ryan, Mike, and all the other excellent team members Ive met there have been consistently great. Ive never been disappointed with a visit to this location. Everyone there is helpful, knowledgeable and, most importantly, hands-off. They let the customers explore the very manageable yet expansive inventory on their own.The reason Im finally writing this review, though, is due to the extra step that Sean, the store manager, took for me recently. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and my own chronic illness, I have to be really careful and cant go into many stores yet, but I still wanted to trade in some old gear for some new gear. (Gotta pass this quarantine time somehow!) I called Sean with my concerns, and he had me send him a list of my old gear for him to price out. Once we had a total, we scheduled a time for me to stop by the store, pile my gear outside the door, and wait in my car while the trade credit was being compiled. Then, Sean said that we could place an order for my new gear over the phone and have it shipped directly to my house.Thanks to all the people at the Reno Guitar Center, and thanks especially to Sean.

This guitar center its awesome, smaller than a lot of other GC stores but always have an exceptional inventory. They will always let you play/demo anything they have and are friendly and willing to help.

We like to check the used gear periodically, sometimes there are some hidden gems. Pickups, Amps, Cabinets, and Guitars are our usual suspects. The staff is eager to help. Rachel is always a pleasure to chat with.

Love this place. Very helpful staff. Smaller store compared to larger cities, but nice used gear selection. Picked up a 1966 gibson lg1 for a great price. Very happy with an acoustic setup I received in a very timely fashion.

I looked all over town for gaffers tape and no one else had it. I called Guitar Center right before they were closing for the night and, I believe his name was James or Jason, grabbed a roll and held it at the counter until I got there. Definitely saved the day.

Stopped in for some last minute Christmas gifts. The staff was very helpful, and Ive in particular combed through all the guitar straps with me just to find the perfect one for my husband. He also helped me find some guitar tab books as well.My non musician friend who was shopping with me even said it was a fun experience, (when initially she didnt want to go with me to the store). We will definitely be back to buy more guitar stuff.

Bought an amp. Sales people fight over who received credit for the sale.One came over while I was playing the amp and told me to turn it down, (it wasnt even that loud at all) then wanted credit in the sale.Wouldnt give me an owners manual for it because it was the last one, instead said look it up on line.Another purchase of a foot pedal was terrible. After waiting for the sales person to finish up helping another customer in which he dug through a box of power supply units to show an item to the customer, he pulled the pedal I was interested in prepared it to sell to me and I paid for it. He said here you go at which time I said where is the power cord?? His reply was, we dont have any. You can buy batteries for it.He could have easily pulled one out of the box he was digging through and have it to me. smhTerrible customer service at this location.I miss Big Es guitar shop!

I called to get more information about renting some equipment for a big special surprise party for my mother and the person on the phone was so snarky and rude. I felt like I couldnt even talk about what questions I had or even bother going to this place if this is how the employees treat their customers. Jason was not nice and probably wont be going to this place to rent if they are going to be rude. For the record I never treat employees with disrepsect as I have had experience in retail so I always consider the employee as they are people to.

Staff was very friendly, but not as knowledgeable about dj equipment, but then again, it is GUITAR center, not dj center. Lol

My dad and I went to this store to get a good quality baby grand piano, and to our luck we found a beautiful Yamaha though it cost nearly $1000. The manager was itching to sell it to us right on the spot, and I was really excited for the piano too, and he ended up offering a little discount if we ordered right there. We agreed, and part of the deal was to have the stool come with but it never arrived... Other than that, I must say that I love it; works great, the sound is crystal clear, phenomenal, and absolutely sets the scene. Other than the missing stool, Ill rate this place a solid 4/5 stars even though it was my first time going there. The place also had that fresh, new guitar smell I guess, and the employees were really attentive (plus one of them, the glasses guy with the brown hair, was so insanely hot!). In all, you should just check out the shop to see if its got what you want. Wouldnt hurt to try. (And it wouldnt hurt to cute employee guy!) I even plan to go again to look for a certain kind of electric guitar since I enjoyed the store (and not just for the attractive dude lol. If I was in it for him, Guitar Center would be in serious business by now).

Ive bought a couple of guitars, books, strings, stands etc. Always good service when I need it and always a good experience. I will probably go there in the next couple of days. Where else can you play before you buy, or maybe just play? Ive been there when it was very busy and even when they were reorganizing the whole store and never had to wait long for help. My favorite retail store, period.
