Came here to return books that I had bought. I dont know whos worse... this place or Half Price Books. Either way, they both pay very low price for your books.

Absolutely love this bookstore! I go to Collin College Central Park Campus and they only had the new version of the textbook I needed there for $80. Came to Cougar Books and found the same one that I could rent for $25! It has helped me save money that I can apply for future classes. Ill be coming back to get my other textbooks from there!

The lady a few posts down claims that selling books back during finals is the best time. While that may be true, its often not the way it works. Every time me or my friends tried to sell a book back around finals time, we were told to come back the following week because they do not know if they will be buying those books until the next semester. Also you MUST drive to this location because they absolutely will not answer the phone. Other than that, its a decent place to buy a book.

I went into Cougar Books today to check them out because I got a flyer in the mail. I had bought all of my books at the bookstore at the Spring Creek campus and spent $640. When I got the flyer for Cougar Books I wanted to see what kind of prices they had, and they were AWESOME!! My total at Cougar Books was $400, needless to say I returned all of my books to the bookstore on campus. The staff is so helpful and friendly!!! I highly recommend this store to anyone who is buying books for Collin College.

Came to sell back a few textbooks and I feel like I got the short end of the stick here. It’s still better than on campus but would’ve appreciated a few extra bucks for my prestine conditioned books.

Its alright if you dont care how much money you get back. Its better to sell online. I went there one day to check the price of a book i had and the guy told me he could give me $20 for it. I went the next day and another guy was there and he gave me $40 for it. I initially bought it for $50 so be careful to sell your textbooks there.

Bought a book two day ago and they gave me the wrong book and now I cant return it. Its new with the plastic still wrapped around it and they wont take it back. Was not told when purchased about returns. 11 dollars for a book just bought 2 days ago for 46. Unbelievable.

They never have my books in stock. I’ve been a customer for years and in the past year I’ve been told the same thing, we don’t have your textbooks in stock, try your school bookstore. I will not be coming back. It used to be great, but steadily it has just gone down hill quickly.

I absolutely love coming to this bookstore for my reading material. They always have had all of my required textbooks for my classes and they are so helpful.

A one stop shop I was. Able to walk right in Game Stop and Star Bucks from this location the store smelled great and service was the best. See you soon!

If you try to sell a book they wont even give you half of what its worth but they definitely will sell it for 5x what they gave you. For example, I bought a book for almost $300 and when the semester ended I tried to sell it them and they said the book was considered a old edition and offered $12 ... Yeah also did the same thing with another book and they didnt even offer the $12 this time... Ironically it tries to rip off the poorest people (COLLEGE STUDENTS). You should be ashamed cougar books. Take my advice and dont waste your time coming here and just sell your book online or something.

Everybody is nice in there except their manager. Unfortunately, everybody has to go through her if theyre using FA. She had the worst attitude ever. She talks to students in a humiliating way. Would appreciate to find a better attitude where im going to get my books from!

Horrible customer service, no one greeted me at the door, they were all on their phones. I was also told two completely different things on renting books by two individuals. Will never come here again.

I visited this location today, January 3rd, 2013. I had two books that I needed to return because I rented them this past fall semester. They were overdue, and I received a few courtesy calls to remind me to bring them in, one of them was from a guy that worked there and he said I would not be charged if I brought them in on a certain day. I went to the store that day with my books, and the location was not open. Twice more I visited the store after that day and they were not open. So today when I went in, I explained my situation to the two ladies that were working there and one in particular (the manager, I believe) was extremely rude and condescending towards me and was not willing to help me at all. She refused to refund the $300 that was charged to my bank account for the books, and because of that I am not able to pay my rent this month. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else to get your books, regardless of the pricing there. I have never felt more uncomfortable talking to an employee somewhere than I did today.

Very cool staff but their prices arent lower than collins book prices like they use to be. I surely wished they would price match collins books

RENTERS BEWARE!!! My son rented a book from Cougar Books and when he finished his class he lent the book to a friend, forgetting about the rental deadline. Cougar Books not only charged us $122.00 for a used 1/2 inch paperback textbook, but up-charged us with late fees for a total of $180.00. We spoke to an manager who refused to take the book back and kept saying 1) that they had already replaced the book and 2) that we had signed a contract (which we had). Yes, legally, Cougar Books was well within their rights, but morally were a great disappointment. If they had to replace the book, then the class must still exist and our book could still be used. We would have been glad to return the book as well as pay some sort of fee and Cougar Books could have taken the opportunity to generate some good will, but instead we saw this situation as nothing but an opportunity for gouging a customer. We hope never to have to deal with this business again.

This is the most amazing book store i have been to in quite a long time. i have been going to cougar books since its been open for my textbooks and i have to say the customer service there is absolutely incredible they are very friendly and are very efficient and quick when it comes to finding your books the pricing is always lower than the campus bookstore and neebos its just nice to find a text book store that has it all. I would definately recommend them to any other student going to collin college

Awkward experience I walked in and no one said hello or how can I help you, it was like five of them just staring at me. The book I was trying to buy was so expensive and they made the whole experience awkward. Unprofessional staff, won’t ever be returning again.
