Very helpful while searching for what I need and they have a genuine interest in the project I’m working on. The cut off drops bin is very helpful in keeping the cost of my smaller projects down as well. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Huge selection of mild steel, high carbon steel, aluminum etc. The sales folks were very helpful and friendly even for smaller purchases. The $10 bundles are fantastic for hobbyist. If they were open on the weekends this place would be perfect!

It is truly hard to express just how much I love the Richmond Branch of Metal Supermarkets. Never in my lifetime have I encountered such professional, courteous, and helpful employees as I have here; especially everyone at the front desk. Never have I felt as welcome or had my business appreciated as much as I have here. I am a hobbyist, an amateur, and definitely do not have the means to be big spender or top customer yet, every time I feel as if I am treated like I am. If you are looking for unsurpassed customer service, exceptional prices, and a place to feel like home, look no further.

Went in face to face asked a few questions and told them about my project. A Jeep Wrangler bumper super simple. Rectangle tubing and a piece of flat stock. Knew what thickness I needed, and lengths. Was able to get the material to build a 250$ number for less than a 1/4 the price was awesome to deal with. Will be returning to build roof rack and any thing else. Also really convenient.

When I first started shopping there and compared bulk prices to MSM prices, I didnt think it was a very good deal.But it has so many pluses that it works out fantastic for me. Many times the remnants rack has what I need and if I do order something specific, its cut and ready same day or next day.The two office pros at Richmond, Lindsay and Chase are simply put great people. You could not ask for better people to work with customers.Im sorry, I dont know all their names, but they guys in the back are equally talented, courteous and prompt.When I bought from BMG metals, I had to take 20 foot lengths, precariously transport them off-site to cut them to fit my vehicle. Not worth my time, money or extra driving distance.Youve got a great team in Richmond, give them a raise to keep them.

The best place to get metal in Richmond

I needed one (1) 20 ft long, 4 x 6 steel beam with flanges welded at each end. Small PITA job, but these guys gave me exactly what I needed at a reasonable price,.fabricated and delivered ON TIME. Even helped us carry that monster inside the home.OUTSTANDING!!!!!

The “Metals Supermarket” is near the Diamond on Arlington Road. Besides the metals in the large storage area [cut-to-order], they have a pretty big stock rack with “odds and ends.” Great place – very nice folks too. They will let you peruse the stock rack and pick whatever you need. They also have $10 packages of assorted cut-offs; contents depend on what’s left-over from bigger jobs. They charge the regular rate [very competitive] for metals in general; not scrap prices. And if they do not have what you need, they can order it. Highly recommended.

The online order option is nice, but a phone call follow up gets the order done. They keep lots of common items in stock and I got everything within hours of calling. Convenient to northside, just a couple blocks off I95. So much easier and friendlier than BMG.

My new go to metal shop. I had an odd request and they were still able to have me in and out in under 5 minutes. Offered services to have my aluminum cut so I was ready to roll when I got home or to just buy whatever amount needed so that I could do my own fabricating later. Excellent customer service and the best prices in town!

Read about this place in the Richmond Times Dispatch so I stopped by to see if they had what I needed. Great selection of metal and able to get other items if you need it fast. People working desk and the cut shop in the back were awesome. Great place and you just buy what you need.

I deal with Metals Supermarket often for work and I have not been let down yet. The customer service is great. The location is central to basically everything in Richmond, VA and surrounding areas. Not having to buy full pieces of material (that we know we will most likely not use on other jobs) saves us tons of time and money. The turn around time is very quick as well. I would recommend to anybody.

I was impressed by the friendliness of the service and quality of the product. I needed a piece of diamond plate of aluminum 9 x70 3/8 and it was no problem good price considering home depot and Loews at 100.00 for 3 pieces of that length 1/3 the price here .I would suggest the drive to area near the diamond big savings

Very displeased with my experience! I dropped off my metal with instructions and went over @ front desk to insure we were on the same page. the metal I brought to them was 10 1 and 1/2 long × 10 wide. most products when you buy them give you a little extra for cut up or square purpose. i needed the extra meterial not to be cut off for end to end lapping but these guys cut it off on all three pieces of my material that I bought without calling and getting approval! If it were material they supplied and could make it right,that would be a different story. they did tell me if I go buy more material they would bend it for free, which cost me more time and material due to this company not being professional and doing the right thing from the start.ans when I was @ my truck securing my metal down the guy stood @ my truck starring @ me not saying anything, which was really weard. the guy should have involved a manager @ some point! I will never do business here again and wouldnt suggest anyone else to either.
