It was by my choice, I ordered furniture from a store in Arizona that shipped my furniture to Richmond, VA. American Western turned over my order to the Kloke Group in Richmond and its been a nightmare since. First they postpone delivery due to a tropical storm, very reasonable excuse. A day later I get a call while Im at work that the driver is just about at my door to deliver furniture. No prior call, no coordination. I could not get up and leave work in the middle of controlling air traffic. The next day I call to find out about delivery and told my order is not scheduled for delivery, I will get a call when theyre ready to deliver. The next day I call and was rudely told I could take delivery on Friday or Saturday. I said Friday was good and given a time of between 10am and 2pm. On Friday, after not hearing from the office, I call and am told my delivery will be between 3pm and 7pm. At 7pm, no delivery, no phone call, no nothing, office closed. How does this place stay in business?To be continued....

I am very happy to recommend The Kloke Group for a household move. Our move was a long distance interstate move. Kloke was professional, courteous and timely throughout the entire process. From the initial estimate and inventory to final delivery of our goods, Kloke exceeded our expectations at every step. Although an interstate move is not inexpensive, Kloke took the time to advise us on where and how we could reduce our overall costs. We were totally satisfied with Kloke.

We moved out of state with them. They broke a dresser, nominally accepted our damage claim, and then proceeded to ignore all phone calls and emails over a period of several months. We are still out $260. Look elsewhere for movers.

First and foremost, thank you for not misplacing all of my items and keeping them somewhat in tact. I used your storage for a year and upon delivery from another moving company, I am missing over 100 items. Until my move is complete and my items returned/found or replacement with full monetary value, I will repost this review.If need be, I can take a position apart of management and correct the issues from top down and improve your rating.Cheers.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAVE GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS PROVIDING SERVICE TO VETERANS!!!**How does a moving company not show up on the designated move day without calling?Horrible experience with Kloke Group (Newport News, VA). Run the other way. Do not use. Poor customer service. Rude personnel working in dispatch. Company deserves to be shut down. You will be better off buying pizza and sodas for the local kids and paying them to move. you will probably receive better customer service from them.VETERANS DESERVE BETTER!!!!

I give it two stars because the people are very nice. The ladies in the office took care of the scheduling pretty easily, and the movers were nice enough. However, you hire movers with the belief that they will actually care for your belongings. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Two bookcases were damaged beyond repair, the glass in the china cabinet was smashed to pieces, parts were missing from my lawnmower, and many items appeared as though they had been handled pretty roughly (as evidenced by the scratches and dents we found on many items). While I was hoping I could recommend this moving company, I really cant.

Very professional, efficient and a flawless move! Deborah helped me arrange a two part downsizing move: big house to a little space. Having to set aside items for army re-locations and furniture pickups for other family members, the two crews I had were friendly and treated me like a queen. They understood that the faster they worked, the more money I would save. I wish everyone could experience such a caring personal and professional move as I had with Kloke Group. The actual moving crew were extremely professional and treated my possessions like their own. I highly recommend Kloke. I would also add that I have moved many times, this time it was flawless.

Great job to Juanita and Thomas, very professional and courteous crew! Arrived on time, treated our furniture with respect and packed everything in little over than half a day.I have to be honest. I was nervous about hiring this company given a lot of negative reviews, but none of the trends described in said reviews confirmed.We had a very positive experience with our packers.Also, the crew is affected by the current government shutdown and currently working without pay, but that did not affect their professionalism and work ethic.Two thumbs up!

Our move was a pack and load to our trailer. The crew arrived on time and got to it. They knew what they were doing and efficiently packaged everything. These guys are cheerful and respectful of the items they handle. Most important to me is that I was comfortable with what I saw early on and did not feel I needed to keep an eye on it. Awesome service. Kudos to Jeanine and Debbie, setting up and scheduling the job. Found the warehouse guys to be very helpful as well. Professional operation in all respects. I have no further need to vet moving services.

Mayflower Richmond, moved my belongings to South Carolina from Va. They were very professional and made everything easy and when they delivered my belongings nothing was damaged and again very professional.When I wanted to move back however, Mayflower Charlotte, NC could not accommodate my move door to door, so, I regretfully went with a local Charlotte, NC. company who could. They damaged some of my furniture but I luckily had paid for the extra warranty. The company gave me such the run around and screwed over the person who did the quote for the damages that, I had to go to the president and get my Warranty money back and I paid the person who quoted them to fix my furniture his fee for the quote out of my pocket. If I ever move again, I will definitely go Mayflower!

Kloke did a great job! They arrived on time, wrapped each item, and were careful moving big furniture down the stairs. They did not have a lot of downtime and I appreciated their hardwork. Coordinating the move was easy, Debbie and Janine were very helpful and responsive. Kloke came back a week later to pick up the used boxes we had. Would definitely use them again!

Scam. Avoid. They broke countless items. Lost even more. Traumatizing experience. Worst experience of my life. Movers outright stole. Just horrific. How do you lose a table? (Amongst numerous other things.) AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Absolutely horrible experience. I cant believe the military contracts with them. They were contracted to pack us out for an overseas move. They were at my house for 24 hours straight, sent 2 men to pack out a 4 bedroom house, and didnt have enough truck space. One gentleman who seemed to be second in command was actually doing a good job and trying to get the younger guy to leave and come back the next day but the younger gentleman, who seemed to be in charge, wouldnt have any of it. He was hasty, sloppy, and did a horrible job of packing. At one point I caught him slamming his shoulder into boxes to try to get them to fit inside the truck. Stuff was just thrown inside boxes. Heavy things on top of delicate electronics. A few art pieces I specifically asked to have wrapped carefully were all just crammed together and ruined. I could go on and on but the absolute disregard of our belongings and lack of common sense was appalling. We had two other moving companies come for two other shipments and they were careful, respectful, and polite. This shipment was so appalling that the people who delivered and unpacked us on this end kept calling me to look at things to show me that they didnt do it, it was like that when they unpacked it. They were absolutely embarrassed by the state of what they were unpacking. It was an absolutely nightmare.

The move was good. After saying that I will tell everyone if you haVe a claim for damages dont hold your breath! Our move was Dec. 4 and we still are wIting for check. First this was damage that movers did to house. Company even sent an adjuster of their choosing and Kloke still denied all of claim. Ok not ok so what they will pay for they still havent sent us our reimbursement (claim) check. Come on its almost June!!!!

Is there an option for zero stars?We booked our move in February.it was told that we would have enough people here, everything would be done within 2 days.Situation now: 3 people for packing on day 1 from 9:20 am - 4pm, 3 people on Day 2 from 10:15 till 10:10 (with the message in between that they wouldnt load the container for overseas on Wednesday, no not possible because we need to leave!!!)Day 3 with 4 people showed up at 11 am, it us 6:50 pm, still wrapping furniture, no tools to take things apart, not enough packing material and the stuff picked up before the weekend isnt even here yet.plus no support from the management!these are just the big things....we had our household moved from Germany 5 years ago: 8 people done in 2 days in normal working hours, these guys here have to work overtime!Also dont give me that excuse of not having enough people because everybody moves in June. Because you screwed up!!!

Horrible moving company.Packers came from company after already being paid and said that they work for tips and if you tip them it will be better on your stuff. The driver and pre inspection person were specifically told to package certain items and store them a certain way. Did not happen at all our brand new airloom bed is ruined. 55 in flat screen new in box never open destroyed. Delivered over two weeks late, after driver quarted it’s only a two day trip. Took them almost 20 days to respond to a simple question on where is my house hold goods. Could not give an answer. Do not use this company if you get them request another company!

Had a Mayflower Moving 18 wheeler run myself and several other vehicles off the road this morning while heading west on I-64 just east of Richmond at about 7:20 AM. The African American driver was seen to be laughing as he very wrecklessly merged on to I-64. If this represents Mayflower Moving, then Mayflower has some serious issues. It was only by the grace of God he didnt hit anyone.

Unorganized, under manned, late. No one is in charge. They show up late and stay forever. Send way too few people to pack, inventory, and load. Not sure why the military is paying for such poor service. Avoid if you can.

I was forced to work with Kloke through purchasing furniture at Arhaus in Fredericksburg. Our furniture delivery took forever, which to an extent was no fault of Klokes, as the Arhaus site had advertised the readiness of furniture incorrectly. I only give Kloke two stars because they agreed to split up our order, which is not standard operating procedure, because I was in a tight spot. A house on JMUs campus had caught fire, and students had been without furniture for a semester and a half because of Arhauss false advertising.Kloke then really dropped the ball. First delivery was of a couch. This went somewhat smoothly, Eileen worked closely with me, I felt good about her promises to make this as easy as possible.Couch is successfully delivered, Im happy, the students are happy.The next order is for a set of 2 love seats. I had told Eileen repeatedly that I was to be POC for scheduling the furniture delivery. They continued to use an old POC, who is unreliable. The love seats sat in Klokes warehouse ready to go for at least 2-3 weeks as a result, because I had not been notified they were ready for delivery. If I had not called Kloke myself, they might still be sitting there. It should also be noted that at this point I was told by Eileen that she authorized someone to open our packaging to check the furniture. I dont work in any sort of delivery business, but I have a gut feeling this is NOT standard procedure, and seems fishy to me. As a third party to this whole thing, I would think its nothing but a liability for them to have done that, especially when it still has a 3+ hour ride on a delivery truck and could be damaged.I set up the delivery. Im promised a delivery window of 7a-11a, with ours being on the early side. Delivery day comes. The college student I had arranged to sign for the delivery notifies me at 10:30 (15 mins before she had to leave for class) that she hasnt been contacted by the driver. I tell her to wait 15 more minutes. Still nothing. *I* had to call Kloke, and the first thing out of Eileens mouth was a nonchalant Oh yea that truck didnt go out today. I got ZERO notice. The student got no notice, and wasted her entire morning sitting around for a delivery that never came.We scheduled delivery attempt #2. Same promised delivery window, except this time were told Ill make sure youre the first stop, even if the driver has to back track on his route. Im thinking, okay, great, this will be easy.Not.Its about 9am, no one has heard from the driver. Again *I* call Kloke, asking for an update. I am told theres an accident on 64, which has pushed delivery time back. Okay, thats fine, completely out of Klokes control. I then call the driver directly, and ask which delivery we are for the day. Im told were 3rd and that delivery would be around noon as a result. Again *I* had to point out what we were promised. I had to reinforce what we were promised. Truck shows up at the house, around 10 and guess what... LOVE SEATS ARE NOT ON THE TRUCK. Just flat out not there. So my student has again, wasted another chunk of her day. You have one job - delivering furniture.I call Elieen absolutely irate. She is apologetic, and says she will send a gift card for something to make up for the hassle. We schedule delivery attempt #3. Third times the charm for Kloke! They finally delivered our entire order, unscathed.I still have no gift card, I havent heard anything else from them. Do I care about the gift card at this point? No. Im not giving them any more chances to fix their problems, which is why Ive come here to write this review. Enough time wasted. Ive personally wasted a few hours on this, between communicating with students, Eileen, and other contacts in the Harrisonburg area to try and get this completed. My student, who is also a Resident Assistant, wasted at least 8-10 hours of her time trying to get this completed. Truly unacceptable.Im honestly shocked, as they have such excellent ratings otherwise, but this has been nothing short of a nightmare.

If I could give a zero I would. ANY MILITARY PERSONNEL MOVING TO FORT LEE STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! After the hassle of finally getting a date I was told that the day prior they would call and give me a window of when they would be there. Well the day before I received a very short and abruptly ended call only confirming my address. I have them the benefit of the doubt they would call later and give me a timeframe, well I wasn’t called and I understand it gets busy so I was just prepared at 8am and waited all day still giving them the benefit of the doubt that they would show up. Well around 3:30pm I finally called to make sure they were atleast on their way. I was then transferred and put on hold multiple times to be told there was a scheduling conflict. Mind you they had given me this date two days prior. After telling me they could deliver the next day I was told I would get a call back shortly for the timeframe. I waited until 4:40 which was an hour after the phone call and had to call them to get my timeframe otherwise I’m sure there would have been a phone conflict.

We just moved from the Richmond, VA area to a small town south of Denver, CO. We contracted with Mayflower (Kloke Group) to pack our glassware and other breakables. We packed our clothes and other items. We were absolutely thrilled to learn that Kloke would give us used packing boxes! That saved us quite a bit of money.The Relocation Consultant (Jeanine) came to provide an estimate and gave us some suggestions on what we could do to lower our costs and gave us a not to exceed cost estimate. When we were ready to do the move, she came back and adjusted the estimate because we followed her advice and eliminated some items. She then connected us with her Operations partner (Debbi) who kept us updated throughout the entire process and offered to help in any way possible.The best part of my story, however, concerns the driver (Joe Dean) and his wife Sue. They work as a team and are just outstanding at what they do. When you get your items packed, you expect damaged goods at the other end. Joe and his team packed our goods very carefully and didnt do any damage when loading or unloading. In fact, they took precautions to wrap blankets around areas where they would be carrying furniture and put covering on the floors where they would be walking. When we reached Colorado and were ready for delivery, snow was forecast. Joe brought his van up the evening before and slept in his rig overnight, to ensure that he would be able to make it up the hill in case it did snow. It did snow and they were unable to unload, so Joe and Sue stayed in their rig during the storm and the next day, were able to unload our furniture. All this at no extra cost to us!In my opinion, 5 stars isnt a high enough rating for the service I received. Id give them 6 if I could...The only negative comment I can make is that the people who packed our breakables put parts in different boxes. My big screen TV was missing a power cord for quite a while and the TV stand was missing a part that my wife found with my fishing poles. Everything arrived OK but it was challenging to find some critical parts at times.If I were moving, Id call Kloke and I recommend that you do too!

Truly awful service. We paid more than $14,000 for them to drop our dresser down a flight of stairs, violate the contracted move window, and repeatedly screw up. Avoid Kloke group when you move.
