Fantastic soft serve, which is shocking. Its the only place I know that makes their own anymore in the area, and the quality shows. The have done great hard ice cream flavors. I highly recommend the cannoli. The mint chocolate chip is very minty, I just wish they would leave the green food coloring out. The maple walnut is nothing great.

Always stop here on our trips from upstate NY to Black Rock CT. We were recently there on the night of Sat. May 8, 2021. The three young kids that were working that night were super friendly, VERY efficient and were a delight to get some of the best ice cream on earth from. I hope the owner sees this so that he knows what great employees he has. Hope to see them next trip through!

I really wish the workers would wear gloves when serving ice cream. I watched as the worker with long nails, touched money, surfaces, and dug their dirty hands right into the cream container. Things like that freak me out, especially when Im supposed to eat it..... Will not be returning or recommending this place. Its unfortunate too because it looks like they have a variety of good ice creams. Please train your workers to wear gloves!!!!!! In a time of Covid-19, I cant stress enough to train your staff on hygiene and safety practices.

The staff is excellent and ice cream is delicious, however the price raise they had over the summer was absurd, it used to be a cheaper alternative to carvel without sacrificing quality, but suddenly they matched all their prices to carvel, I no longer go there because it is 15$ for two shakes! I hope they’ll make their prices reasonable again soon, I miss the incredibly friendly staff

We asked for a Oreo shake. We received a soft ice cream with some cookie pieces and they added 2 different types of syrup. Super sugary sweet. When we went back and asked if they used Oreo ice cream and why it looked like a chocolate ice cream. The 2 girls looked at each other and confirmed that they used Oreo ice cream. They didn’t. $6.91 + tip for a really bad shake...

Wonderful spot. soft serve is delicious. Being feet away from Route 7 traffic can be a little unnerving. service was quick and friendly. definitely recommend it.

How can you not love a place that is literally a landmark

A very good option for a stop and refresh on the Danbury road. The shop is a pretty small one - no dine in facility, you can only grab something on the go. Got ample parking space though. But a plenty of options for an ice cream lover. We tried the ice cream soda with a couple of flavors and twas great. Will the soda float during the next visit.

A repurposed Carvels that pumps out one of the eastcoasts very best soft-serves. The secret?? Classic high-butter fat machines from the original shop that arent even in production anymore. The combination of dairy metal and low air volume produce a super dense and rich tasting egg-free custard consistency thats velvety and smooth like no other I have ever had. My guy is so dedicated he stays huntin down old carvels for parts to keep his gems pushing out the truth!! Get a vanilla or choco dipped n cherry and its a wrapppppp! Worth pulling over since its so unassuming and Im sure youve passed it by once or twice already. They should have a ginormous sign to let ppl kno to hit the brakes cuz this one is an institution.

We almost passed by this fantastic, unassuming Ive cream shop without stopping in but decided to give it a try and we were very glad we did. At first we were going to try the hard ice cream but upon the recommendation of the server, we switched to the soft ice cream which was fabulous. Very smooth and creamy, the old fashion way. While not quite the richness of old fashion custard, it was pretty close and a wonderful treat. Highly recommended if you are any where near the Danbury Mall.

Waited in line for a good bit with kids in masks in a heat wave to be told no credit cards by a small sign in the front window. Since this is a new thing and waiting in a line on a hot day in a mask to only find out once at the window how about putting up a big no credit cards sign where folks can see it before the wait?

The employees are nice. Line wasnt long. Ice cream was flavorful. Although the flavors of hard ice cream were exotic sounding (i.e. Muddy Boots & Swamp) they were rather limited in number.For an ice cream establishment that is strictly drive-up (no indoor/outdoor seating) I think $3.50 for one scoop is a bit excessive.

This place used to be great. Used to be the go to place for me and my friends for ice cream. Last time I went here, I ordered a banana milkshake. Half of my milkshake was made with some kind of clumpy liquid that came out of what looked like an old milk carton. It tasted so processed that I couldnt even drink it. There were only teenagers working there so I figured complaining was not going to do anything. Ill just have to find somewhere else to go.

I enjoyed my 2 scoop cone of pina colada flavored ice cream from here. Even though its still March with snow on the ground, the ice cream was fresh. I hear they make it in house. There was plenty of parking and its off a main road so easy to get to. The staff were friendly and the menu had a great deal of choices including other frozen treats besides ice cream. Its also cool that the building is like an old style shop.

I went there a couple of days ago and I was served by this lovely girl who treated me with respect. I dont know what the person below is talking about but this Ice Cream place has the best Ice Cream and a reasonable price! I recommend going.

Good/great icecream. Seating would make it better. Not a great stop with little kids because theres no where to sit and no barrier between you and cars.

I never had a bad experience there. Went somewhere else in town and paid close to ten dollars for two cones(no complaints-the ice cream was great). Maybe the ice cream melted faster there because you are eating it OUTSIDE not in air conditioning! Any way -it tastes great! Their soft serve chocolate -chocolate dip cones are my favorite! I never had bad service there but have had less than stellar service other places. Many kids that age are somewhat apathetic most anywhere you go. It takes some time and experience to learn responsibility and how to work. They cant all ways handle difficult customers or busy times especially when they are new. Im happy to see a business owner who is willing to take local kids under their wing and give them jobs and an opportunity to learn. That said, I dont think I would have taken out my frustrations on the kids working at the shop. I would have called the owner and let him know what was up. Im sure he would give an apology and credit for the ice cream. Some people are just difficult but once they know you are there to please them, they calm down. Im ordering my daughters birthday cake there now!

I have been going to Ridgefield Ice cream for over 40 years..when I was a kid with my parents and with my kids when they were little.. for birthday cakes so many years..I went this evening with my sister who had broken her leg and had major surgery and this was her first time out since January..I ordered 2 ice cream sundaes with nuts and whipped cream..that simple sorry I said large..the girl asked me on and off 3 times what I wanted, that truly was just part of the problem I asked if she knew what she was doing and the Red headed guy said yes... she put 2 small servings of ice cream in and asked me again what I wanted she finally finished and put whipped cream on it didnt even reach the top of the container, I asked is this right is it suppose to look like this the red headed guy said yes this is a large.. so I paid the 10.00 I didnt feel like arguing any more there were kids and familys...I got to the car put my spoon in looked all around there was no hot fudge.... I was so angry now I really never get mad, but I just felt like an idiot after asking so many times.. He said she knew what she was doing ..so I took it back and the guy says whats the problem I said Im sorry there is no hot fudge in these...so he squirts 1 squirt of chocolate in each and hands them back to me..by this time they looked disgusting I said I just want my money back he said whats wrong ..I gave him back the sundaes He says to me whats the problem the girl is new cut her some slack. Ok just give me my money back ...he argued with me, which is so unprofessional I would never do it in my business... he says I should have charged you for the hot fudge..WHAT..he should just have replaced them the right way. but no he had to show he was boss I finally told him keep them and the money and left and went to carvel in Ridgefield where they were so nice and the ice cream was double the size for less.. I really wished I could talk to the owner... Im sure there are adults that will do a great job and will be respectful to there guests..The end is the experience just made me feel really bad for my sister...They lost a great customer and well how good I felt about going there since I was a little kid.. Not may businesses are left ...
