This shop is AWESOME. On a morning dive I realized my dive computer needed a new battery and they were able to quickly service it so I could use it on the afternoon charter. Then, after I left my reg at the shop, one of the employees recommended waterproof labels that another instructor uses - genius! (I ordered some). Finally, they let me use their bathroom multiple times (thank you!!). I love that they also have a balanced male-female staff in this male-dominated sport and my dive guide was adamant about not touching the wildlife. Overall top-notch org. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing experience. We dove with them 07/23 and 07/24. Booking was simple, I even had to cancel a day and that was super simple too. We did a total of 6 dives and the dives were great, they treat you like adults, give great explanations of the dives. Jeff and Nico did amazing answering questions and making sure everyone was comfortable. Captain Scott and Captain Dean were amazing as well. We will absolutely go diving again.

My wife and I have wanted to learn to dive for years, and our first trip back home after being locked down for most of the last year in the UK seemed like the perfect opportunity. There are many dive shops around Singer Island, and we ended up chosing to do our Open Water certification with Pura Vida because the staff there seemed extremely friendly and helpful.We were not dissappointed in the slightest! Our first day of class was an 8 hour pool session with RT. He was really patient and had us practice much of the information we learn in the Padi Open Water e-Learning course. Our second day was with Dave and RT at the Singer Island bridge. Here we had our first dive in 20ft and experienced first hand why that location is so popular. It was an easy and fun dive, and it prepared us for going off the boat the next day.Jillian was our instructor for the boat dive. To say she is patient and helpful is an understatement. Our lesson started about 2 hours before we got onto the boat, during which time she took us through the different things we will be working on, and generally shared some tips for diving in 60ft. During our dives, Jillian was constantly watching to ensure we carried out each task well and felt comfortabe. Unfortunately on the second dive, my buddy panicked when water poured into their goggles and mouth; however, Jillian immediately noticed, helped calm them down, then slowly led the group to ascend in a controlled manner. Although shaken, Jillian explained to my buddy what the issue was at the surface, and they were able to confidently go down again and complete the dive.After receiving our open water certification, we wanted to complete another guided dive before going off on our own. Thankfully, Jillian recommended doing the Drift Diving specialty, and even offered to be our instructor for that dive. We ended up signing up for the course and are extremely happy for having done so. After the e-Learning course, Jillian went through all the pertinent information with us prior to getting on the boat. And when it came time for the dive, we confidently hopped in and descended. This was easily one of the most amazing experiences weve had; it was a clear day with great visability at 60ft. We saw plenty of turtles, lobsters, eels, etc., and most importantly, we felt confident in our abilities and comfortable underwater.Overall, we had a great time with Pura Vida and finished our vacation as Open Water and Drift certified divers. We will 100% take more courses and boat trips when Pura Vida next time we visit.Thank you to everyone who helped us get our certification. I have been on a lot of dive boats in my diving career, and Pura Vida is among the best! I was impressed with how they organize divers to expedite entry into the water safely and to maximize your time. They care about safety and keep you informed at every dive site. They are friendly and accommodating and even serve snacks and drinks! I saw a ton of turtles and other sea life. Highly recommend this professional dive shop.

I got my sons OW cert with Pura Vida. I was on full alert as choosing an instructor for your child is pretty serious. I had full confidence in Dave Perkins to instruct my son for his open water cert. He also made sure I felt comfortable as its been awhile since I was in the water. Very professional and very safe group. Jillian the Director of training was awesome. She made sure to check in and insure I was comfortable with every step of our experience. 100% Pura Vida will be our dive center in that area!!

Wow! What a great experience - from the first email to the last dive - this is a class act! I’m from Colorado (though I grew up in West Palm), when I emailed a few months ago about getting my Advanced Open water done I promptly got a reply with the information I asked. We eventually arranged for doing the AOW and Nitrox together. I ended up being the only student in the pair and just had an amazing time - Dave W. Was a great instructor and helped me get thru the mind games in Navigation I was putting on myself. We did the class in two days and now I can feel safe doing the dives I would like when I travel.I cannot say enough good things about them - their boats were immaculate and the dive masters amazing (gone are the days of grumpy old men lol). Do yourself a favor and use these guys - you will not regret it.

Weve been diving the bridge for a few years and had friends from out of town who needed gear.Pura Vida was our choice and were so glad we picked this shop, they are top notch. This was the perfect experience for my sons first dive in South Florida. The shop hooked us up with Rick as our private guide. This took all the stess our of worrying about the logistics of the dive and allowed us to just enjoy the beautiful dive. Highly recommend.

The booking process online is a breeze, The staff, Captain and crew are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The boat is clean, in good condition and has enough space to feel comfortable. My family dove Blue Heron Bridge with Pura Vida and Dave Perkins as our guide. The shop itself was extremely professional with loads of nice gear in stock and everyone working there was friendly and up to chat with us about local diving and scuba in general. A nice change from some operations who don’t seem interested in conversation with tourists. Dave gave us a thorough dive briefing and his knowledge of and enthusiasm for the site and its inhabitants was palpable. We were able to observe some rare and elusive animals on a relaxed, safe and comfortable experience at one of the country’s premiere shore diving locations. We saw four different octopus on one dive. How often can you say that? I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Pura Vida and Dave Perkins to anyone interested in Blue Heron Bridge and West Palm Beach scuba diving in general.

I spend this past weekend with Scott as my captain and four awesome deck hands/dive guides (Nico / Todd on Saturday. Sarah / Amber Sunday) Everyone was professional and personable. I was finishing my Advance Diving certification with PADI. I over think things and always want more information that I need. Both days the dive guides had a great dive plan set up and all their ducks in a row. It was the perfect diving weekend. Yes these charters are a few dollars more than the other ones in area (Ive tried a few) but they are worth it.My next dive trips in West Palm Beach will be with these guys.

Safety comes first! Captain D is like a momma/papa bear protecting its cubbies. He goes full throttle to block other boats coming close to our diving site. I felt safe knowing that he is our captain. My son and I rented our gear from Pura Vida and booked a guided tour with Curt. The equipment was in great shape and Curt knew all the ins and outs of safely getting below the Blue Heron Bridge. If you want to dive the bridge, I’d highly recommend having a guide at least the first time out the gate. Would be easy to get yourself in trouble if you don’t know how the tides affect the area at the bridge. Everyone at the shop was very friendly and helpful, highly recommend.

Captain Dean and crew were amazing and very accommodating. My boys were completing their first ocean dive and I was allowed to be a “bubble watcher” so I could be with them. They did a drift and a wreck dive and they are hooked, lol. Highly recommend!!

As a dive professional in the industry for over 4 years, this dive operation and team is top notch! Completely disappointed. Charter refused to refund or let us reschedule for another trip, for myself, another single mom and her sons spots for today, with a weather advisory of 4-5’ swells, 1-2 seconds apart, rain and thunder storm advisory’s coming from Noah.I understand that weather changes, but we’re not willing to subject ourselves to poor weather conditions that pose a risk to an adolescent.Will never book with them again, and have vetted this dissatisfaction on multiple diving forums.Forcing divers to gamble their safety over alternative options, during a tropical storm in swells like that, questions their regards for safety over profits.$420 wasted on a charter just to protect our diving intuition that it’s not safe conditions.

Cannot say enough good about this store and their entire staff. We went to get my son fitted for a thicker wetsuit, and had a little trouble with his sizing. They took pics of my son to share with the manager, and then the owner Shana called me to go over specifics.We talked at length and she explained so much to me, gave me so many options that I hadn’t even considered, and spent hours researching the best options to not only correctly size my son, but make him comfortable too.She even gave me direct links to order, outside of her store for the options she can’t get. No one does this anymore, no one takes the time to actually help customers get what they need.Business owners and stellar employees like everyone at Pura Vida deserve all the praise. They truly care about their customers and their community, and we will sing their praises and go back again and again.

I did a lot of boat diving with Pura Vida while I briefly lived in the area several years ago and decided to make a trip back since the diving was so good. The level of service has stayed at the same high level as when I first dove with them. They were also very accommodating to all the COVID related delays and changes that occured in the course of planning the trip. I always feel safe and well taken care of on a Pura Vida boat.

Absolutely amazing. Hands down one of the best outdoor shops I’ve been to — regardless of activity.Extremely well-staffed and stocked dive shop, with super helpful staff members. It had a constant stream of customers, always a good sign that the shop knows its stuff. My wife and I, total beginners, came in to buy snorkel gear and Julie spent about an hour with us explaining all of the different options and reasons for different features on gear. Then expertly fitted us on masks (TUSA) and fins (Atomic Aquatics). Julie ensured that my wife’s mask could easily accept prescription glass.Even as beginners, we felt completely at ease and felt like we were given all the information to make solid choices. We were given tips on where to snorkel and when for the clearest visibility. And the shop has a full slate of outings and classes available.Superb.

We had a great 2-tank dive. Beautiful weather, vis about 60 ft. Wreck dives to 1-Corridor and 2-Spud Barge. Both vessels you could dive through the ship in multiple locations. Dive Masters were with the group but allowed you to tour around the components of the ship yourself. Grouper season with fish that reached 6-7 ft. Sea turtle at the end and 1 small reef shark.Definitely recommend it be sure to bring the dive camera or GoPro if selecting these dive sites.

Great dive charter and shop; we did our advanced open water with them. Our instructor, Jillian, was great as were the captains and other guides, Amber, Josh and Jeremy. The vessels were well maintained and very, very clean. Had an issue with my reg and they were able to instantly swap it out. Cant wait to come dive again!

We had an amazing time diving the Blue Heron bridge with Andrea, our guide from Pura Vida Divers. We were able to find a lot of different creatures and she gave us a lot of information about the dive. Outstanding experience both on the dive charter as well as in the store. Knowledgable and helpful staff for my tank fills as well as the new mask I purchased. Great dive shop and operated by great people. I reached out for information and pricing for advanced open water and enriched air certifications. I received a reply in less than an hour with everything I needed and then some. I decided to proceed and they were sure to keep in contact leading up to my scheduled in person training and dives. The girls in the shop helped piece together my last items for my kit and answered all my questions and how to use/maintain the equipment. Tito and Curt were awesome instructors and made for an overall great experience. Pura Vida has my business for future certifications and dives in the West Palm area.

We visited the are to dive the Blue Heron Bridge. We rented all of our gear and hired a guide through their team. I was recommended by someone to take this route and would certainly pass on the recommendation to anyone looking for a dive shop in the area. I am already thinking of going back to the bridge and will certainly go through Pura Vida for any gear we need.

Julie was my snorkel instructor. I was a little nervous at first, but she was so encouraging, I forgot my fears after awhile, and enjoyed myself. I got to see fish, crabs and legs lol. I hope I get to do this again.

Excellent service for all your dive needs. Julie was extremely helpful in sharing the various snorkeling opportunities in the nearby area that were available to us. Her insights made our two days of snorkeling extremely enjoyable and successful in seeing fish and reefs. The gear we rented was of very good quality and the rentals were for a full 24 hours. The only negative is that their prices for a snorkel and mask are a little higher than what their website listed. They should be your top choice for dive gear in this area.

Dove my first ocean dive with them. The dive team was fantastic. They were super communicative and patient with me as I struggled with the new diver shenanigans (dive gear, sea sickness, etc). We got to see some amazing things including ship wrecks, Goliath Groupers, Barracuda, etc.The staff in the shop was beyond helpful and informative. They knew their stuff and worked with me on everything I needed.Would highly recommend and will dive with them again!

My sister and I had the best experience here! Julie was our snorkeling guide. We are not strong swimmers and she stayed with us, made sure we were comfortable and having a good time. Excellent dive experience for a first time ocean diver. Crew was fabulous and came to the car and carried all our gear. They had drinks and snacks. They even sent a guide down with us.I originally booked online and our trip was canceled due to weather. Thats understandable. I had a issue with billing and waiting for a refund while I was billed a second time but they assured me they were refunding the first trip. They definitely rate a 5 star. Things like that happen.

My friends and I are PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainers and recently took a trip out with PVD. Highly recommended. Our crew was Capt Scott with Amber, Josh, and Emilio. Extremely professional and knowledgeable crew; great briefings, safety standards, snacks, and cold water. The boat is clean and in good shape- you pretty much can’t go wrong with a Newton. I personally detest the ‘Christmas tree’ style boarding ladders, but they do a stellar job getting everyone on and off the boat in a timely manner. Interesting dive sites and an overall great trip.No guide ever asked anyone how much air we had, but it is technically everyone’s own responsibility as certified divers to watch their own gauges. Would’ve appreciated some more socializing during the SI, just to get to know the crew better. Could be a COVID precaution and practicing social distancing, though. I’m giving the benefit of the doubt and easily rating 5 starts. Great work! Hope to see you again sometime.

Ryan was the best. I had not been diving in over 10+ years and was very eager to get back in the water and renew my skills. I had heard about the dive under the Blue Heron Bridge in Phil Foster State Park. I stopped into Pura Vida about their refresher course. I signed up that day and was told to come back in a few days at 11:00 for my training. I got there and Ryan was waiting on me. We did all the paper work, got our gear, and left the shop heading to the dive site beach near the bridge. There I was given ample time to re-familiarize myself with the equipment, hand signs etc. After that it was time to get in the water. What a great dive we had for the next 50 minutes or so. We saw so many fish, shellfish, lobsters, clams, eels and more. Ryan was very slow and deliberate in his hunt to find all the creatures we could. It was a nice, slow calm and relaxing dive. Next I plan to get my wife certified as well as some other family members and we will all go though Pura Vida !

My son and I wanted to do a last min dive and we called Pura Vida divers. From the first phone call to the last visit to the shop after the dive was a great experience. The staff was very helpful and polite. After getting on the boat I realize that i had forgot my reg and computer, no problem they had a extra one on the boat and were helpful with showing how to use their computer. We came here after getting some cheap snorkeling gear at Walmart. We told Carol that we were just beginning and weren’t looking to spend too much. She still gave us her full attention and helped us pick out gear. Carol made sure that what we got fit and was comfortable going to the back for different sizes multiple times. She was friendly and very helpful answering all of our questions. She even cleaned our masks for us before we left the shop and gave us great info on local places to snorkel and times that would be the best to go. Even though we said we weren’t looking to spend a lot at the start we got great customer service. Carol was great and because of her I recommend this place for anyone looking to start snorkeling or diving and those who are experienced as well. The pricing was fair and I didn’t end up spending more than I was hoping too. The gear we got has worked great we were able to really enjoy snorkeling at blue heron bridge and had a great experience thanks to Carols help. Thanks so much!

Excellent and professional staff, very helpful dive leaders and small amenities like snacks, drinks, and free towels on the boat. relatively small size groups for dives, one boat has max 12 divers per trip, which makes for an enjoyable experience. I would definitely dive with them again!

First time here. I went in to buy a diver down flag. Spoke to a Jeffery who is clearly a seasoned diver. Wow! What an amazing resource of information! Super nice guy, too. Made me feel very welcome to the island. We just moved here strictly for the snorkeling. They even tied up by flag and such. Great customer service. Come on down and support your local businesses like Pure Vida. You wont be disappointed with the experience.

Awesome dive outfit! My daughter and I did our first boat dive with them. We called ahead to make sure we coordinated a trip to West Palm Beachs shallower reefs (45-60). Shana (one of the owners) was awesome with making that happen for us. Plenty of dates didnt work for us, but she made some changes and worked it out. What an outstanding trip, and an equally outstanding crew. Craig and Jamie were the DMs and guided the group and pulled the surface buoy. Captain Zack was awesome too. You could tell they all really enjoyed their jobs and took pride in your safety and enjoyment. Boat had water, soft drinks, and snacks, dry towels too. The reefs were great. Saw a shark (4-5 nurse), 4-5 Goliath Groupers (400-500lbs, its season for them), and 2 large sea turtles. We will definitely be diving with them in the future. Not sure what the other dive operations are like, but they now have quite a standard to live up to. This operation will assist you w/your gear setup or things of that nature if you need or ask, but they generally let you setup and break down (which I like). I wanted my daughter to be self sufficient at this sport. Highly recommend diving w/Pura Vida!!!

Great shop/dive operation. its always a good time on the boat with dive guides and capt. They always drop us in good spots where the fish are. Highly recommend checking them out!

I did two back-to-back dives with this charter this past weekend and had an awesome experience. Great staff, great diving. Absolutely no complaints. Top notch. I will not hesitate to use again when I am next in West Palm Beach.

I love this place! The shop has plenty of gear options. Also, I booked one of their Scuba Charter Dives and it was great. The crew had everything ready, gave detailed dive briefs, and pointed out numerous things underwater.

What a great experience! The first time my 7 year old tried snorkeling and it could not have gone better. The instructor brought a surfboard that he could use when he became tired or just needed a break. Our instructor was also very enthusiastic and a wealth of knowledge regarding the sea life. Highly recommend this company.

I wanted to go diving offshore while I was in the area. I called ahead to find out what they had going on so I could plan the times I wanted to dive. I had never been on a boat diving before. They made me and my son feel like we were one of the family. Wow that is as good as it gets. Everyone was great. People in the store and the people on the boat made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. Thanks to John for introducing himself to me at the blue heron bridge and letting me know about Pura Vida Divers. If you are a first time diver or have been diving for awhile. You should go diving with them

Pura Vida has been very helpful. Im the only one in my family who dives and I dont go very often. The people at Pura Vida were very helpful and patient with my numerous questions. I once had an experience in the past where an outing on the ocean went so terribly wrong, I nearly died. I realized on that day that I know just enough about the ocean to be dangerous to myself. Thats why its so important to me that the staff took the time to answer my questions to help me stay safe.I went on two diving outings with Pura Vida. I was guided by Connor the first time and Carol the second time. Both guides completely satisfied my expectations.Another great experience was that I purchased a pair of fins that rubbed blisters on my toes after a few hours. They cheerfully exchanged them for another product that works better for me.I will definitely return again in the future when Im in town again.
