Prices here are always higher then going to Menards or Home Depot. Some items are almost double. This store is great though because its convenient and has just about one of everything you could ever need. The employees are knowledgeable and very friendly.

Bought Murphy oil soap to clean a 160 year old oak desk that the church recommended for my husband to have since he is a youth pastor.

Love this store! Convenient location to buy all the hardware stuff and miscellaneous like canning jars, bird feeders, etc. They also offer curbside pickup.

My dad went in to get a Blackstone Grill. We’ve been having a hard time finding one lately given the season. Unfortunately, my dad couldn’t remember the name of the young man that helped him but he did say how kind and helpful he was. They didn’t have the grill in stock at the time so the young man offered to call my dad when it did come in stock. Called within a day and my dad went to pick it up. It came with two free accessories (because he’s a member) but they didn’t have the right size cover in stock so again the young man went out of his way to go to another store and get it for my dad. Called my dad again within a day to let him know he has it. My dad could not stop talking about his kindness so I just thought it necessary to share and hopefully the young man remembers and this gets back to him. Thank you for helping my father so much! It is much appreciated.

Basic hardware store its good if you need it and you live nearby one but a little bit more pricey better off going to Lowes or home Depot

I just want to thank everyone at this Ace for all that you are doing during this crazy time with covid-19. I was able to order my stuff online, (would recommend calling first to make sure they have the items) paid for it and I did curbside pickup. Worked perfect. Great job!!

This store is in a great location and there is a nice parking lot too. The staff is super helpful and always trying to give you the best advice. I have only been here few times but i dont hesitate to go back. Thank you for all the help. Will keep coming back.

This Great Lakes Ace Hardware used to be the old ACO Hardware prior to the merger a while back. This neighborhood hardware store is convenient if youre missing something, but only if that thing isnt too obscure. Given the small size of the store, they have a limited selection in each department, but they have the basics, so its worth heading up to Ace if it isnt for something hard-to-find. Additionally, the staff at this Ace Hardware are super-friendly and willing to help you find what you need. They are also knowledgeable on all manner of subjects and can make recommendations that will help to make life easier and get your project finished quicker. I patronize this establishment as much for the advice as I do the merchandise, it would seem!

Great Lakes: Poor Customer Service.Went to this store to cut the profile of a spare transponder car key. The young guy behind the hardware counter looks at me raising both his eyebrows and informs me that it is store policy not to cut keys that are brought in.When I ask politely what is the reason for this, the youngster tells me that it is because of liability, if something goes wrong while they cut the profile I might ask for damages. Proposing a solution, I reply that the key is relatively inexpensive and I offer to sign a release of liability to protect from mistakes. He is confused and he need to call the manager. The senior supervisor shows up. After listening the request replies that it is store policy not to cut keys that are brought in. At my question about the reason; his brilliant reply is : no reason in particular just a store policy. When I ask about alternatives he proposes to sell one of the blank keys he has on the shelf at an exorbitant price, but when looking for the car model/year no match to my vehicle is found. Then staring at me asks if he can do anything else. I am the one to be confused at this time and I think anything else? You havent done one thing yet. Cutting the key profile was the only reason why I came to the store but I choke my temper and ask if he can suggest any alternative locksmith provider. I end up leaving the store without a solution. I cannot recommend this store for customer service.

Service is pretty hit and miss...dont expect anyone to be too knowledgeable. Decent selection albeit pricier than the big box stores. The store is crowded and theres never enough room for carts. Im always reaching around pallets of stock to get to the plumbing supplies in the back...apparently their stock room isnt big enough either. Id gladly pay the higher price if I could more easily navigate the store (on multiple occasions Ive made the decision to go to the Big Orange Box Store just because I knew Id need a cart).

Dont get keys made here. The young guy doing the work took a half hour to make four keys for two locks and not a single one of them work. They return my money when I went back but the cashier admitted that they get a lot of key returns here due to the machine they use

Our family, my husband is retired from construction work, I have little hardware knowledge so I always need help---we have gone to this ACE for many years, even when in Rochester on Livernois. We always get great services from the knowledgable staff. Often can find hardware items not available at the big box stores. One of our favorites!

Unbelievable I called to see if i could get some paint mixed and was told yes it wouldnt be a issue, I drove their and was treated very badly by an employee there that she seemed to be a possible manager, I went in and she told me that she would not be mixing any paint for us after I drove there after being told other wise and she wasnt nice at all just flat out rude I will not be returning anytime soon
