A little slow because only two people were working but they make a great breakfast sandwich and really yummy blended drinks and smoothies, all quality ingredients. Great space to meet up with people, relaxed environment.

Great, cozy, and clean café with a historic and very industrial-like theme inside. Definitely a stand-out from the rest of the cafes and breakfast places in Rochester. Wide and delicious selection of breakfast/lunch food and coffees and smoothies as well. The staff are also super friendly and very accommodating. Will definitely come back. They have their own parking lot too on the side which is nice as well.

I give it 2 stars only because the omelette and soup tasted good. Overall I would not order here again. On the menu it’s states the restaurant has gumbo which comes with chicken shrimp sausage and rice I got just a chicken minestrone type soup no rice and a headache from the disappointment the omelette was more like scrambled eggs with stuff on it. Susan b Anothony would be upset. Updated with pictures!!! Now I give it 1 star with the smart remark from the owner.

A very nice cafe with a stylish, open atmosphere. The cafe is located at the spot where Susan B. Anthony illegally voted in 1872, and it celebrates other historical figures who similarly contributed to progress.I had heard a lot of good reviews by word of mouth, and this place truly lived up to the reputation! The food and drinks were great. The cafe partners with several local suppliers for things like coffee, vegan baked goods, and more. They also have several varied offerings for vegan food made in-house, and use a separate oven to make the vegan food. Everything was also reasonably priced.The staff was very nice, and each of the three employees I saw checked in on my party when they walked past our tables.

I tried out this cafe for the first time today and intend on revisiting. The classic breakfast sandwich and the Freddie D veggie egg sandwich on everything bagels were delicious. The slice of pizza and the glazed donut are also good. This place is well lit, has low chairs at tables, high chairs facing the outdoors, an outside section, booths, upholstered furniture, and plenty of electrical outlets. This is a good spot for meeting in a small group or getting work or reading done. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Cute place good food. Inside is very nice. Outside was all in the shade and you hear people from the bus stop. Only downside is were a family of 4 and sitting outside we had to sit separately because the chairs were all tied down.

Wonderful, amazing, perfect, delicious. Synonyms for these breakfast sandwiches, no joke. Ive ordered a couple times and it never fails, which just makes me want to try the lunch items so bad. The sandwiches have this specialty sauce that is so good, the croissants are soft and buttery, and its very well sized for someone like myself who loves breakfast.

After going here twice, this is for sure a great spot. The employees are all very kind and extremely helpful. The breakfast sandwiches are absolutely delicious. I could easily make this a regular spot to come for some good food and relaxing vibes.

Good coffee. Can steam almond and coconut milks. Offers a few vegan options. Had the vegan breakfast sandwich and it was pretty decent, although more greens would have been nice. Also purchased the vegan pecan chip cookies and vegan blueberry muffins, but havent tried them yet as the breakfast sandwich was filling. Good pricing.

I found this awesome coffee shop down the street from me. My hubby and I had one of their pizzas -- superb!This will quickly become an at least weekly stop for me once my classes restart ... its right in front of a pair of stops for the city busses.

This is truly one of the coolest spots in Rochester. There is so much history thats thoughtfully implemented. The owners are incredible people who do everything they can to support their community and local businesses. Tip: order an iced vanilla latte and a pastry - theyre my favorites!

This place is a gem among a sea of Dunkins, Starbucks, and Tim Hortons. Great selection of drinks and food (both breakfast and lunch). I love the breakfast pizza. If ordering online, order through their website rather than GrubHub, itll be cheaper for you and a greater percentage goes to the business. I love local businesses like this.

Had a wrap and gumbo from them. Food was amazing, and the service was excellent. Would recommend calling orders ahead as all places with great food tend to be busy. Will definitely be stopping again.

Love this place!!! Come here almost every morning for my coffee and apple fritters. They are always so fresh and they know exactly what I want as soon as I walk through the door. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone I know!

I found this place randomly when looking up vegan breakfast places. They did not disappoint!Theres a large parking lot. Plenty of seating. The decor is nice and hip and young. Staff was super friendly and patient with our complicated order!Plenty of vegan and gluten free options. I enjoyed vegan toppings on a cauliflower crust as well as an everything bagel with tofu and veggies. Delicious! Everything tasted fresh.Cant wait to go back!

Good vegan options, especially the vegan burger, and good bagels. Nice to support a local business that gives back to the community. They do have a few outdoor tables. I only wish they used less waste and no styrofoam for dining in, but that may be due to cleanliness concerns.

The food is amazing. Service is good. The waits are unbelievable sometimes it’s a wonder how they stay in business. Don’t ever come here hungry unless you’re getting something quick. Idk if they only have the budget for one cook or what but each order takes at least 15-30 minutes to prepare. Maybe they need a bigger kitchen or more staff/volunteers. Other than that it’s a great place to eat!

Came into Rochester from Syracuse for a day visit. Ive never been to 1872 Cafe before but will plan on going back the next time I am in town.The Freddie D Veggie Breakfast Sandwich was delicious. First of all, it was literally heavy. I was quite hungry and hadnt eat breakfast when I ordered it around noon. I normally eat a lot when I skip breakfast. This sandwich filled me up.The Croissant was a bit crunchy because I think they toasted it. But the ingredients were warm and moist. A great combo. I could taste each individual ingredient. The tomato. The onion. The egg. The spinach.And the staff were friendly.

Went there for lunch, food was ok, nothing particularly noteworthy or worth coming back for. Atmosphere wasnt much, though we may have come at an odd hour/slow business due to pandemic

Nice spot with good customer service....good cafe. I like the vibe as well. Saw a review here about music..its appropriate to the cafe to get work done. I wouldnt change it. Change the way the donuts are presented maybe? Feels like the dunkin donuts vibe instead of a Starbucks one.

Wonderful place. Located on the spot where Susan B. Anthony voted illegally in 1872. Great decor, with SBA quotes, names of accomplished women, pix & photos. Cozy section in center, things to read. Two walls are glass, thus light & bright. Very good casual food. Great coffees ! Friendly owner & staff. Very clean restrooms. Love dropping in there. 😉😉

Really nice high ceilings, tastefully decorated to commemorate Susan B. Anthony and the heros in American history that have supported and helped shape Americas fight for equal rights. As a cafe, it offers great, fresh ground coffee, a wide variety of comfort and quick food, including Vegan options. The food is well made and very tasty. The staff are attentive and helpful. Occasionally the food is a bit slow to come out, but still well made and delicious. Nice wide assortment of food from pizza, wraps, hamburgers, including vegan chili, cookies and vegan veggie burgers. Definitely recommend you give it a try.

A great cafe with very affordable prices. Love the history of the place with Susan B. casting her vote here! My wife and I tried the boneless wings which were delicious and very filling, old fashioned doughnut was a perfect sweet but not too sweet, and drip coffee was spot on! Atmosphere was relaxing with ample seating and couches. Cafe and bathrooms were super clean! Owner and his wife were super friendly! I was surprised to see a good size vegan menu available which is hard to find in the ROC. We will def. be back again.

The voting box where Susan B. Anthony cast her vote in 1872, 48 years before women in the U.S. could do that legally, is right outside this cafe!!!! I know - I went and hugged it. :-) I would have come here for that alone, but the coffee drinks, breakfast sandwich and other breakfast items we ordered here were also yummy. Really glad we found this gem on our visit to Rochester!

I was very happy with my experience at 1872 Cafe. Its a high-ceilinged space on Main Street with a small library/book selection, a wide array of coffees, teas, wraps, sandwiches and other offerings, and lots of great seating and spots to socialize, meet, read, or enjoy some peace and quiet. They are under new management, and Paul was very friendly and easy to talk to

I LOVE the 1872 Cafe! Its a great place for small meetings or just to have lunch with a friend, you know, quieter, more intimate gatherings. The menu selections, which include pizza, donuts and an array of coffee & espresso drinks, are pleasing as is the atmosphere. You get to enjoy it all while also taking in an ample dose of Womens History through the years via the names prominently featured in the decor. The 1872 is truly an asset to the community.

We were able to take am early lunch and have our choice of seating. The chicken salad croissant was tasty. The chocolate chip cookies are fabulous. This is definitely a place where a person can sit and relax with a pastry and favorite beverage for a bit.

Really cool cafe celebrating famous (and not so famous) women. They have giant murals all around the walls listing women who have positively impacted the world. And I had a wonderful hot chocolate.

I ordered a slice for me and a friend near closing time. They took 15 minutes but my pizza was ICE COLD! Why take that long to serve frozen pizza?? Offering a straw with canned soda would be nice too.

Great pizza, but I have yet to try anything else. Good customer service when theyre open as scheduled. My mom and brother just WALKED there in the cold & snow/ice just to find out that they closed early, around 4:30 instead of 5pm. And this isnt the first time that this has happened. Inconvenient to say the least.

Prior owners had a better breakfast menu but its still a great place for a cup of coffee and to hang with a group of friends. My posse (think old white folk) comes almost weekly, unless theres an outcry for a more substantial diner-style breakfast.

Food is alright, nothing special, but that isnt my complaint. I had a reservation and the manager assured me that I would get my food in my specific time window. I did not, and when I asked the waiter to put my food in a box rather than bring it out on a plate, the manager decided to come raise his voice at my party. I am overly disappointed. I treated everyone in that cafe with nothing but respect, and to be so disrespected like that!Not to mention, only two other people were in the cafe, so it was NOT busy.
