Excellent food and drinks! They were pretty busy but our waitress was very attentive and nice. Great first impression. Decor and vibe was spot on with what youd expect from a brewery of this size. We will definitely be going back. We started with nachos which were fantastic and I had the Shepherds Pie and she had Hungarian goulash. Both were delicious but just too much so we took boxes. Highly recommend!
I think they have improved their food & always enjoy the bands for dancing. Down side is the drinks. Small drinks/lots of ice at $9 for a house vodka/mix. Also only their own beer, so those of us that dont like craft/,IPA/draft we have nothing. Would like to see them add a few standard beers in bottles.
Love Rochester Mills. The food is great. But, more importantly, they brew their own beer. Rochester Red is especially awesome. Its a great place to hang with friends and have some pop with the foam on top decent bourbon list, too.. also, its in an old textile mill, its huge inside
Great beer and live music and good atmosphere. Awesome spinach dip with Artichokes. I didnt care for their Shepard pie all potatoes no meat. Great service
Fun, lively, loud environment. There was a live band playing. While I do not prefer their beer (personal preference) everyone else in our group loved them. The food is great! I highly recommend the clam chowder.
This place is amazing. One of the best breweries Ive ever been. Awesome beer selection and an extraordinary menue.
This was my first visit here. I ordered the Golash and it was cold, and had the consistency of old chili! UGH! our server never came to check on us, so I could not let her know the food was not good. I did mention to her when she came to clear the plates, that the food was not good and she proceeded to charge me the 17.00 anyway! We were seated in a far off area which made us feel comfortable with all going on. Then within 15 minutes, a large reunion of a family of 25 were put around us. I was not happy to be exposed to so many people on top of us. Needless to say, I was not all impressed with the food or the service.
My bloody Mary was great however the food was very poor. The Burger and fries were not hot and the Chicken was cold on the chicken Caesar salad that I ordered and the Caesar dressing was absolutely gross!!
Very good food! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and would definitely recommend it to others!
First impression I really liked it. The service was great, the beer selection is solid, the food quality and portion size was perfect for the price. I tried the turkey club on toasted rye, I would recommend it and would get it again myself. My friend got cheesey bread sticks for the table, they were amazing and I had to try my best not to fill up on those before my sandwich came out.100% recommend and will be a new favorite of mine too visit regularly
Good food and atmosphere. Wanted to book for my wedding rehearsal dinner. Worked with a fill-in for the manager who told us all the wrong information. Unable to accommodate our requests. Would not recommend for booking private events.
Good food with a nice variety of several ethnicities. There are some unique choices on the menu for sure. Everything Ive had here has been good. The beer selection is good as well. Usually there is a wait so just be ready for that.
Went for a wedding rehearsal dinner. So it was a limited menu. I had the cheese tortellini, which was amazing. I had they Rye V. Rye drink and that was awesome. Would definitely go again. We had one waiter for the whole party. He did great though. Was very pleased with my visit here.
Great food, selection and prices. Plus, you wont find a broader offering of amazing brews. Service can be slow, but thats about the labor shortage and not the will of the establishment.
Waitress went beyond to make sure the wrap we ordered was made vegan - good portion, filling. Also ordered the turkey ruben (smaller sandwich, but filling with a side that comes with) and chicken nachos (good size with enough toppings). Spacious inside seating area with good spacing between tables, outdoor available too. More staff would have been nice, but only a little wait for requests.
I love the space and the beer selection. Ive been going for years. The menu could be freshened up a bit. The entrees are ok, but not something with wow.. It hasnt changed much in years. The cooling duct work was dripping on us and our table. Gross. We sat in the back by the fermenting chambers, the lights above the performance stage were flickering. I found it annoying, but my 6 month old thought it was the greatest, but not redeeming. I almost feel petty for pointing it out, but the front board of the stage is pretty much black from grim or dirty mops slopping against it for years. The place and food are feeling tired, but its still busy all the time, so why bother keeping up on it, I guess? Regardless, Ill be back. Ive enjoyed placed that were way worse.
Staff was super nice and service was good. The lack of vegan & vegetarian options was a little disappointing (they have one veggie wrap but the hummus on it is red pepper which I am allergic to) but the Michigan Cherry salad was delicious and the drinks were good. Overall a nice place to go and grab a couple drinks with.
Great, friendly service, but the food was just okay. The goulash was very bland and didnt seem to have any of the traditional onions, paprika, or other seasonings. I wouldnt consider it to be an upscale venue for an event. The ladies room looks like it could be in a mall from the 90s, the tables look cheap with damaged edges, and condensation from a big pipe on the ceiling kept dripping onto me. The external building itself looks impeccable and well-kept, along with everything else in the general area, so this kind of threw me off. Still, Id go again. Love their milkshake stout.
Great beer, food, and atmosphere. I have yet to be disappointed and love taking guest here. If youre on the area, I definitely recommend giving Rochester Mills a try.
I have never had a bad experience here. They are always friendly and service is always very timely (obviously when they are packed things take longer than when they are dead but service is always proportional to the number of customers) I like that they have a variety of beers and that they get new options in especially which the seasons. Their food is always excellent!
I came in with my family. The restaurant was half full. There were plenty of seats open near the windows and sunlight (where youd seat someone naturally). Instead, they sat my family away from everyone else near the back by the bathrooms where it was dark. When we asked to be sat near the windows where it was brighter, the waitress said they needed to check if there were any open tables. There were obviously many open tables in that area. We ended up walking out.
Both times I have come to this establishment the customer service has been incredible. I cant say enough how friendly and helpful everyone is. That being said the food is average. My first time coming here my appetizers were good, but second time around the cheese I got with the pretzels tasted like it had been sitting out for some time. My first time here I ordered a Shepard pie (not really though since it had beef instead of lamb) and it was so hot I couldnt eat it. It was, however, decent the next day. The next time I ordered fish and chips. The chips were good but the fish was not. The batter wasnt very good, and the tartar sauce looked like it was well past its sell by date. Both times coming here the drinks I ordered had to much alcohol in them.
This is a nice location off the main road. The sidewalk leads to the hotel and private residence on the other side of the location. I saw many people walking and riding their bikes. There is a gazebo and bridge nearby. Inside is large, social distancing was being practiced, the restaurant seemed to take health safety seriously without making it a big deal about it, low key. The food was good, we had some good beers, my grandson had ice cream for desert. I had a Salmon sandwich with sweet potato fries, so good. The service was very good and friendly. Ive been here before and I was not sorry I came back. This would be a great place for a big gathering in the future. The building is a renovation from Mill back in the 1800s, cool story behind it.
The food is just ok. Its slightly better than Applebees or some other generic chain that microwaves frozen food but nothing to brag about. $14 for a burger and fries in a fancy place in Rochester hills. Honestly, I was expecting it to be better than The Great Baraboo Brewery (a local brewery on my side of town) but it wasnt. The beers were overpriced at $5.50 a pint and just ok too. It was 10:00 and they close at 11 and the waitress seemed like she was chasing us out an hour before closing. Idk Im in no rush to go back.
Today we did Rochester Mills for lunch. We got there right when they opened at 11:30am. We stopped first at the Urban Merchant downtown that is always a unique visit. We started off with a side dish of their onion rings which were perfect. Then for lunch we both had their Original Mac and Cheese covered in a garlic cheese bread that was a meal in itself. The Mac and Cheese was so cheesy that we were able to dip our bread in the cheese. I also had the house made Porter beer which was rich and creamy. Well worth the stop!
To families walking downtown with small children, it was finally informed to me that strollers are not allowed inside the building. After eating on the patio and inside with friends and my own children (under 6 months & sleeping) in strollers…they won’t allow it. You must keep your belongings at the entrance (unattended). There was no sign with this notice and the hostesses were blatantly rude about it.I’m assuming due to the service industry severely being short staffed - on a Monday at 4pm there was a 45 minute wait. The patio wasn’t full and the inside had (and I counted) 7 tables. Absolutely ridiculous. I was once a huge fan of this establishment for over 10 years as they grew but not anymore. I’ll never bring my friends or large parties here again.
Big beer selection, wide menu and very good. Lots of seating, took our party of 9 pretty quickly.
We have had some memorable events here, like my daughters rehearsal dinner and birthdays etc... Those have all been very good. Giving them four stars only because service most recently has been very slow, like no one is in charge. Last night, we celebrated my sons birthday. It took an hour to get from order to food. I will blame some of this on the whole post covid service world.
Great food and atmosphere with friendly service.
Overall great experience. Excellent beer and good food. Happy hour is a fantastic deal with half off apps and discounted beers.
Truly wanted to enjoy this place but aside from the service, which was average, nothing was enjoyable. The beer mugs were sticky and appeared unclean. The silverware was dirty. The clam chowder was disgusting. Buffalo Mac n cheese appeared microwaved, dry, chicken was flavorless. My wife had the turkey rueben and sweet potato fries and barely touched either. Wish I had something better to say but we left completely regretting ever stepping foot in this place and feeling ripped off for a gross $90 meal that we didnt even eat.
Food is good, not a big fan of their beer but I have a few friends that really enjoy it. Great atmosphere.
Great beer, awesome food, and an great gastropub! Will definitely be going back!
Good food and atmosphere. The service was attentive and quick. I would definitely return.
They have a variety of beers. But limited on the seltzer drinks. Their menu is vast and their food is tasty!!
A great place to host a wedding rehearsal dinner. The food was good. The beer was great. The atmosphere was awesome. Service was outstanding.
Love this place. There beer, food and atmosphere are great. We went for a Sunday afternoon food and drink. Split fish and chips which are great! Got the Spinach Artichoke dip also, outstanding!
Good service. Steak was good. Beer was great. Cheeseburger not so much. Stick with the steak and brussel sprouts.
The Mexican street corn dip needs work, but the bartenders are always nice and the beer is always cold. I miss the marshmallow stout!! Hopefully it returns for winter🤞🏼
Great service and live music. The beer was amazing and the people in the tavern kind and friendly.
Great hangout place with friends! Good beer, great food, and amazing service!
In 8 or so years, I havent had a bad experience or a bad meal. The menu is pretty eclectic, but everything has been good so far! Atmosphere is family friendly and in a beautiful part of Rochester. Try their Cornerstone IPA.
This is a great Brewery! Really wish we lived closer! Loved the layout, the bartender was friendly and informative about the history of the Rochester Mills Beer Company. The beers were excellent, especially love the seasonal shandy Cloudy McClouderson. The IPA, red Ale and New England IPA were delicious as well. Happy hour specials look amazing! Will definitely be back to this area! So glad we decided to check it out. One of our favorite breweries weve visited so far!
Terrible place filled with terrible people, I gave it 2 stars a couple years ago friends convinced me to give it another try and its gotten worse. If you enjoy over paying for substandard food/service and being surrounded with the worst people Rochester has to offer this is the place for you! As for me NEVER AGAIN.
Recently dined here with a large group. Because another large group (not us) had recently ate there then left without paying they asked for our credit cards when we ordered. They then proceeded to hold our credit cards for the entire night. They could have photographed them, sold the numbers on the dark web...I have never heard of this. I will never dine there again.
Very good food and plenty of seething in and outdoor. The bar was also really cool.
A fantastic brewery with great beer and always good service. I recommend the Rochester Red.
Great place to hangout and unwind. Very good beer and great service. Building is very cool with alot of rich history. Jambalaya was awesome, I will definitely be coming back!
Good Beer I asked for the most popular one they sell. It was really good
Food was great as usual. We love their birthday club.
Haven’t ate here in Mabey a year because we thought the food was not that great but we came back because we got a birthday free meal and I was surprised by how good the food was. It was really good I recommend it and I will be back.
The beer is decent at best. After trying to give this place a couple visits, the food has never been good on any visit. Very bland. Good to try the beer but better off getting food somewhere else in Rochester hills.
Had a great time for my sons birthday yesterday. Food was good, service was great, and the beer was cold. Kids are free in Monday which made it even better!
They had very very slow service and it wasn’t busy at all. The front desk hostess was not nice and gave the impression we weren’t welcome and made us wait a long time while many staff members stood around. There was a TON of bees outside crawling over our food and making me nervous that I would get stung. They wouldn’t allow my small stroller outside, it takes up less room than a chair. Overall a very bad experience and I won’t be back.
Great place for a business meeting or taking you spouse out
I cant get past the smell. Average food and ambiance.
Excellent food, beer, service, and atmosphere! Totally clean, well staffed, and awesome food with great prices! Mac n cheese with jumbayala was good enough to come back the next day and order again!
Fast, friendly service. Drinks are reasonably priced. Tables were appropriately spaced apart. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great night out!
Fantastic food and great beer. Awesome service, atmosphere was cozy. Building has a lot of history which adds to the charm. Free parking as well! Would highly recommend checking this place out!
Below average food, Average Beers, Good ambiance.
Beer was good, staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was lacking wife had a hamburger and it was a purchased premade burger, my onion rings where cold, son had a turkey ruebuen and the turkey looked like lunch meat, 1 daughters chicken strips looked store bought, the 1 plate that was amazing was the Nachos. Was expecting more from the food, but the beer fantastic!!
Have to come back and eat I forgot how awesome this place is.this was my brothers favorite place he passed 6 years ago and I havent gone to some places because of memories (all good ones amen) I miss him! Bless this restaurant and I hope you guys make alot of money like before pandemic
I didnt spend a lot of time here but the dip appetizer is amazing: black bean, crab and spinach and artichoke. I am sober now but good Lord they had a great selection of beers that werent just average micro brews; they carried what seemed to be hand picked offerings.Very pleasant staff. Cool historic location with clean dining area and a nice, open and simple look.Dig it!!!
Great club sandwichMilkshake stout is delicious
Poor service and overrated food quality
Awesome atmosphere and great beer! Have pool tables, lots of seating
The food was fine but I wanted a Captain and Coke and the bar tender was using a white rum not spiced Captain Morgan. The drink did not taste the same!
Awesome food, great service and great size portions.
Nice outdoor seating. Great fries
They have great food and beer. I did a little trout fishing in Paint Creek, took a break got some food, then continued. I really like the place.
What the Mills does best is their ambiance, customer service, and a great beer selection! The only thing holding it back from 5 stars in my opinion is that the food still has room to improve. The honey pepper salmon and sweet potato fries are some of my favorites. Pool tables, patio, and live music make this one of my Rochester favorites. (Also a great place for a wedding rehearsal dinner!)
Lively place. Must visit during summer time.
I travel for a living and like to try local craft beers. I cant find a Milkshake Blonde anywhere that comes close to the flavor. By far my personal favorite beer.
I have been a big fan, frequent customer, and mug club member for years. I have brought a mountain biking group there a couple of times a month, about 8 months of the year. We usually have about 15 people, and I call ahead early in the day to reserve a big table. Service for our group has been hit-and-miss, and got worse in the Fall. We talked to the General Manager, twice, after getting poor service twice in a row. One member in our group waited 30 minutes for a beer, and an hour for food. We were told it was because we have such a large group, and we should call days in advance, so that they can staff appropriately. No apology, apparently it was my fault that we got poor service. I found out, the other night, that my mug club membership expired and my mug now belongs to someone else. Their typical process of giving members a month to renew didnt happen. Our group, and I, will be going somewhere else after our rides from now on. Its a shame. Great venue, very good beer. Poor service.
Decent beer selection, but the food was average!
Long wait but food was really good.
I love the craft beer and the steak was perfectly cooked. Just the perfect place for a good drink.
Its a nice place and the food and beers were delicious
We dined in on Sat march 27th, we had 6 adults and a baby ( 9 months old) we sat at the table and asked for a highchair the server said that she could not get us a highchair..because we could only have 6 PEOPLE at the table. I told her to turn around there were two other tables with 6 adults and a highchair they would not accommodate my child.... Also, the manager came to the table and rudely try to explain her self.. yet still no highchair... we will not be back. We have celebrated many big events at this restaurant... but they definitely lost our business. ... also services was slow... and food was cold.
