Curiosity...does Tops have a deli similar to Wegmans??? Love Dannys foot long subs! Cut into 2 sections loaded with pickled veggies....great lunch for the week!

Wegmans has nothing to worry about. The automated check out was beyond painful. Testing your patience to the max. Please Tops, please invest in updated machines.! It was one humble, painful reminder why I have avoided Tops.

SLOW checkout, so slow that I actually did a full cart through self-checkout faster than the cashiers on the lanes. Not worth the prices you have to pay and frequently see incorrectly marked prices on shelves. Not to mention the 4 gallons of skim milk that were still on the shelves 3 days after their expectation dateThis store used to be good but is going downhill very fast. My advice, head to Aldi for your groceries.

The shelves are well-stocked. Freshness is very good. Prepared foods are good. The eat in area is useful. Check out is not bad, especially the self-checkout. Goods are easy to find in a sensible arrangement. It is a huge plus that they dont re-arrange the store layout and items all the time, like some places (big W seems to be trying this Cosco trick) that force you to hunt for basics every time your in the store, hoping they get you to buy more than you intended.

Its hard to operate a grocery store in the Rochester area with the gigantic shadow of Wegmans, but Tops seems to have a good idea of just how to do that. The store was clean; well-stacked, and the prices were competitive. The staff was friendly and talkative. Perhaps the best part of my visit was the Donut of the Week. I found the last Orange Cream donut and it was delicious! Well done, Tops.

Way better than Wegmans! You have more choices to pick from, not just the house brand. Will be buying my groceries from here moving forward

Honestly feels creepy in side. Like your in a ghost town or something. And really needs some nice updating.

A little out of my way but always find what I need.

Shopping good. Cashier friendly but packed meat so blood dripped out of one package all over some other things as well as smeared inside of shopping bag. Other than that he was good. Hopefully all cashiers will be reminded about how to correctly package things and ask elderly people how heavy to pack bags.

The shelf was empty (5 store I visited,way out of my way) They went above n beyond to make sure I got what I needed and by the next day!!Definitely going out of way way to shop here since they did for me!!! Thanks for coming thru for me n making it a great party!!!

Waiting 10 mins for help at carry out just to hear they couldn’t accommodate a breakfast pizza. Wegmans would never do that. And y’all wonder why you’re bankrupt

I was very disappointed. For 17 years I have gone to this exact TOPS and purchased a Hamburger cake for my daughters birthday and the same cake for my sons birthday.They are now both adults and we still purchase the same cakes from here. We call and order them because in September and January they are no longer found on the cold rack.I did my typical order and when I picked it up I was so disappointed!The hamburger cake doesnt really look like a hamburger cake anymore! It looked great in September! It looked AWFUL this time. The frosting that is typically looking the perfect shade of hamburger bun looked like awful mustard. It typically looks like it is shaded with special edible spray. It typically has side fries and what looks like ketchup with those fries.NONE of this was done!They price is still the same. I wanted to note that! It is still $10.99 for this cake. Same price it was when I first bought it for my daughters birthday. Last September 2020 the hamburger cake looked impressive like it had every order before. I am not sure what is going on but I am wondering if it will ever be good again!

I love this tops! Reminds me of the one back home in Hamlin! Its very clean! The people are friendly and everyone is helpful! I have chosen this as my new tops go to! Plenty of room for parking and lots of other little shops around if you are traveling! 😊😊

Nice, large, newer Tops. All of the expected areas and was well-stocked when I visited. Went on a Thurs and all of the sale items I went to purchase were available and in stock, which is impressive and always nice. Employees were friendly and helpful, as well. Lots of other useful stores in he adjoining plaza also.

Definitely has a lot more choices than other stores in the area. The location could be better as the plaza it is located in is deteriorating but that is not tops markets fault.

I shop at three grocery stores here in Rochester, and I have to say on the whole I like Tops for their sales, as well as their Gluten free section, and they introduce new products in often. Great staff too.

Penfield plaza Tops, Nice varieties more choices than Wegmans Most prices a little higher than competition good meat prices. Customer service center has some of the Best people working there very friendly My only complaint is that the Penfield deli has NO Prosciutto or Mortadella. They dont even know what it is? This forces me to go to BJ;s or Tops @ Elmwood and Clinton ave @ lac de ville plaza

Its nice for quick visits, BUT is kinda expen$ive, the selection is good. There is plenty of handicapped parking, but you still have to walk a bit, to get inside the store...kinda defeats the purpose of putting the handicapped spots so far from the entrance, oh well.

I rarely buy ground meat or fruit from tops. Tried again today to see the center of a lb.. of meat Id brown. Partly rotten again. Never get rotten meat or fruit from Wegmans.

I am disgusted with Wegmans, So I know I can always find what I want at Tops! They carry all the Brand names that I want and need. Its a little out of my way, but worth the trip! Wegmans is doing away with all the Brands that people are used to and everyone is doing what I am doing. Tops Friendly Market! Its definitely worth it!

Went shopping and everything went perfectly today.

There is a customer service lady who can be quite rude and condescending, and has a habit of shaming customers. Shes been there at least a couple years. I wonder why you would want to represent your store with such a person -- one who makes your customers feel bad. Thought you were a friendly market.

This Tops is one of the ones that got saved because it is the best one. Always clean and always great service. The aisles are well done and plenty of space. Fresh food and a good flow. Their bottle return room is horrible and wouldnt take some of my bottles but that isnt their fault just the company they use for the machines. The lines can get long but the self checkout rarely (for me at least) has a line.

This place is disgusting. As soon as you walk in it smells like rotting meat. They must use the same dirty nasty mops to mop the entrance over and over. They take the experation date labels off the rotisserie chickens every night and replace them with new later date stickers. Prices are double Wegmans on everything, their self checkout system is a nitemare and so slow.

The produce is near spoiled. Fresh strawberries (their sign) were moldy and black. Many items missing from the shelves. Most of the employees are rude or disinterested, the exception being the woman and young man working at customer service, they were phenomenal. Mismarked items everywhere. What a dump

We shop at odd hours here and almost have the store to ourself. Good selection fast checkout lines.

Tops costs more than Wegmans but it has different products to choose from. The Tops card helps with a discount but I think they raise the prices to counter act the discount. Do not shop here. I do like the variety.

Extremely rude cashier, seemed annoyed and not helpful. Sorry for needing groceries. Will not be shopping here ever.

Though I did not need either sugar or hand soap today I was surprised to see that they still have a limit of 1 item per person. Every store in Rochester has unlimited supply of these items and theres no restriction. Scare tactics?

Just stopped in for a few things. When it comes to buying staples like milk and eggs Tops is the best. Convenient locations and good prices, sales and loyalty rewards.

This was my first visit to this Tops and i was pleasantly surprised. The decor and options were very good. I love my Wegmans but Tops offers diverse brands and choices so we throw it in the mix occasionally and this store is a nicer option than the other two we frequent.

Awesome cheese selection! I would have never guessed that, Tops would have such a world class selection. They do. The manager was extremely knowledgeable. I think his name was Jordan. Say hi.

I love the variety I get at Tops Markets. Some local stores, who shall remain nameless are too heavily invested in their own brands. Tops stores give me the variety I love with all the brands that Im used to and am looking for. I love the sales they have and the coupons in their flyer. The meat department has all their items wrapped in normal cellophane and not vacuum sealed, where you cant even tell what youre buying. And I especially love their bakery department, their rye bread is to die for. Employees are always very friendly and happy that you are shopping in their store. They really appreciate you there. Can you tell Im a fan? :-)

This store always looks like it is ready to go out of business. The shelves are half empty, the bakery is terrible and their meat selection is poor. Forget the produce, it is always hit or miss.

Its not Wegmans, but that probably its main advantage. They still carry a few things Wegmans doesnt. Their previously frozen seafood deals can be very good.

Never a line, well stocked, they clean the self checkout after each customer.

Close to home! Smaller than Wegmans.After hip and knee replacements in the last 6 months, Tops is easier to walk thru.Some prices are higher than Wegmans, but less hassle is worth it!

I love going to this tops! Its very convenient and everyone is always friendly. Until now. Now I dont run into the store every here and there and spend $5. I have 5 children 20-5. Im always there. I had the displeasure of going into Debras line. Not only was she blatantly rude to my youngest daughter, she then proceed to tell my oldest daughter who was behind me God arent you glad shes going home with someone else. I confronted her and thought that maybe someone overheard. Nope. I thought she might have been sorry about being a horrible person to one so small. No. Because today as my mother( their grandma) took them in to pick up some things... There they were in her line. And she was again god awful. My mom actually told The manager Gloria I believe.. That maybe she should have a sign on her lane saying.. Warning.. I hate children. Im there at least 5 times a week.. But I will never shop there again as long as she works there. AWFUL.

Its your basic grocery store. Prices and selection for the things I buy are usually better at Wegmans, but Ill stop here to pick something up if Im in the area. People are generally friendly and the store is generally clean and well-lit.

Great local little tops.... Some things here are way cheaper than competitors and some are not. Great deli, butcher, but baked goods are not like they used to be.

In the land of Wegmans it’s hard to shop at another grocery store, especially for produce. This tops seems to be the better of the bunch and I’ll occasionally stop in due to the proximity to my house.

This Tops was NICE.... All redone. Looked really nice. I only bought a few things but prices seemed ok. They were open late which is just what we needed.

Absolutely terrible experience I will never shop the Penfield NY Tops . 1 the store is dirty and under construction 2 I purchased salmon from them . When I got home I realized the salmon was bad, I then did what most people would do which is call the store . I was told by someone who claimed to be a manager that they were sorry and and to simply come in and they would replace it . When I arrived on my lunch break the next day guess “what I got “, Nothing !! No one remembered to write anything down, I of course didn’t bring my receipt because after the 5 questions I had to answer the night before one would think all I needed to do was show up and they would have all of the information from the night before .Wrong they just stood there claiming that no one spoke to me ...... and here is the real catcher they start making accusations that start to making you feel like you drove all the way back there and made up a story because your integrity worth the 10.00 The equivalent of the salmon that’s in your hand ...... HERE is the solution for stores that have no printed visible return policy at the return desk and are clueless about customer service STOP shopping them. That’s what I will do .....

I love my Lil Tops! Friendly staff, great produce, meat and deli depts. Clean store! Sometimes they run low on stocked items. I love how you can add e-coupons right to you bonus plus card. Also you can earn points for free diapers, get gas points for your next fill up. Customer service has always been great at solving any questions I have.

I like Tops because they carry many of the brand name items that I enjoy. However in comparison to other shopping locations I frequent the prices here are extremely high. What I spend in $300 here just fills a cart. When I can fill to overflowing 2 at another location. The staff overall seem pleasant enough and helpful. I also like that it doesnt ever seem overcrowed.
