I bought a motor for my G6 GXP Which is a hard motor to find when I got the motor from them it had issues issues so they tried to find me a new one offering me my money back the whole time but I told them to hang on to it because they were still looking for a replacement motor motor in the end They were unable to find a replacement engine and refunded my money in full

Dont get scammed by Kevin, go elsewhere. We ordered a motor 2 months ago, took 3 weeks to ship it us, a couple states away. Upon delivery we found it had low compression. Was promised a replacement, which never came. Tried calling at least twice daily while we were ghosted by Kevin for 2 weeks. Would not return messages. Finally got him to answer us and he said he didnt have the replacement motor after all. We asked if we could send it back, he said yes, and would arrange shipping. He has never followed through on it. Also have asked on 4 occasions for a receipt which never came with the motor and he has failed to fax or email it. Once there were problems with the motor, he has conveniently avoided us. Its been another 2 weeks, and no refund, no good motor, no paperwork. Im out $600 and have a very unhappy customer whos been without her car for 2 months. Weve been patient, and not demanding or rude in our requests, and yes, we know this is a very busy time for all of us. But this is ridiculous. If you read other reviews on here, Im sure he will deny doing business with us (no receipt ever given to us) and want us to call and work something out. Weve tried that dozens of times over the last 2 months, and he never follows through. Will never do business with them again, and I suggest you do the same. .

We ordered an engine from Rock City and it was nonworking. However, after getting in contact with Kevin, we returned the engine and received a full refund.

I bought an engine that Kevin had advertised online. I paid the extra $200 for him to ship it to me in St Louis Mo. It showed up a week later the what Kevin told me. When I called and ask about whats up with the late delivery he blamed it on Speedy delivery. When I call Speedy delivery they blame their Rock City Auto Parts. So Whatever! I discovered that they sent me the wrong engine and brought this to Kevins attention and he told me I guess Ill pay for shipping one way and give your money back. I said okay perfectI call Speedy and asked how much would delivery. 87.50.. 🤔 ok. So he did pay for shipping and return my money.

The guy Kevin helped me out on getting a new bumper for my car. Found one for me right away and great price. Very professional and efficient. Definitely will be using them in the future.

I own a shop in New Windsor, IL and we took the chance to get an engine from Rock City Auto hoping for the best. Put the engine from Rock City Auto in for one of our customers and it ran, but had a loud type writer noise coming from the camshaft/ top of engine. We called them back, only to get a half sarcastic/grumpy answer on the phone once we described our issue. At first Rock City Auto made it seem like it was up to us to diagnose and fix the issue, when they claimed to stand by a warranty. We refused to repair the engine they sent, as it is money from our pocket and was their responsibility to send an engine that was running perfectly. They eventually agreed to send us another engine. We wait one week...no phone calls with updates and no engine. We call them---their response is the engine is being taken out right now-itll be shipped tomorrow. Wait another week....no engine and no phone calls. We called again today and asked for a tracking number for this next engine, they gave us the tracking number and all was well. Check the tracking number and its from our first engine (the bad one). We have now attempted to call back at least 20-25 times and left voicemails with no calls back and no attempts at making the situation correct. Coming from a business owner, I would NOT trust this company to stand by any garbage they sell. They are more scam artists than they are a business. We have a 78 year old woman stranded without a car because of these people, STAY AWAY FROM THEM. ALSO- NO WE DID NOT BUY THIS FROM ROCK AUTO PARTS ONLINE, THIS WAS A USED ENGINE FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

Needed a vehicle picked up after an accident, Rock City arranged the pick up, fast! They took care of everything needed and I received great service.

I purchased an Audi engine from them; they told me it was compression tested. Ran perfectly for 500mi until piston rings went bad in one cylinder, rendering the entire engine un-usable. I called them, and they told me that Kevin would call me to sort things out. I never got a call back, and they had excuses every time on why he hasnt called back. It wasnt till they completely blocked my number; now, when I call it, it sends me to voice mail. Do not do business with them; they will scam you! This has happened to many people before and still now.

Sold me a motor thats Supposedly came off of running car and there was no noise when I put the engine together the engine was knocking like crazy. I called up there the guy told me he would call me back . And still nothing bad bad business.. was jus up there june 2021

This company is a rip off. I own a mechanic shop out of state and ordered an engine from them . They guaranteed me they had the engine for my vehicle but once it got here it was the wrong engine. they never sent a receipt with the shipping. once i tried to ship it back they gave me the wrong address. i had to go back and fourth with the shipping company. long story short, they told me it was pass the warrantee time and they would not accept the engine back or give me a refund. they screwed me over big time. mike and kevin are both frauds

Complete garbage, engine was bad! I took weeks taking out my old engine, put theirs in, ran for a couple days and I made sure everything was done correctly. 2 days later it brakes.. Wont work out a reasonable solution.

Im a newbie with an automatic trans install but figure its worth the great price to chance it rather than get a new car. After three days of floor jacks, hand tools, and bloody knuckles I had it installed, but it wouldnt shift right. I spoke on the phone with these guys and they immediately offered a return and replacement, but before doing so they walked me through some troubleshooting which had it shifting like a champ. In the end it saved me thousands and Im on the road again. Highly recommend!

Absolutely thieves.They sold me 2007 Ford engine with 3 months warranty, the engine is locked already.I called them they were so polite and promised to send me another one, then they blocked my number. I kept calling from another number asking for refund or replacement they blocked me again. Those people are literally THIEVES bunch of GANGSTERS.

I had purchased an engine for a trailblazer and a year later I ended up purchasing a rear end for the same trailblazer customer service was great and The quickness of getting the parts was awesome

Very good experience with these people. I wanted to get rid of an older car I had and I worked with Rock City Auto Parts to make it happen. They were prompt, courteous, and very professional. I had no problems whatsoever with them, in fact I was very pleased with them. I highly recommend them. Hopefully I wont have to get rid of another car anytime soon but when I do, Ill give them a call.

You get what you pay for and I got a great deal on a transmission. They somehow missed smashing one of the six external solenoids and even bashed the plug for the internal ones. Know your stuff and pay attention. They gave a 30 day warranty, so if it didnt work I knew Id get another. I just striped the old solenoids and plug from the broke unit and it all worked out. Pay for a rebuilt if you want hassle free.

I needed to purchase a new battery for my Nissan Leaf electric, as my warranty was over and I just need the car to last me a couple more years (until the new Tesla Model 3 comes out). Rock City had just what I needed in stock, and I came out with my electrician friend that was able to verify that the battery they were selling would work just fine - it did. They had it strapped to a palette for me, loaded it into my truck, and were respectful and polite the whole time. Pricing was pretty amazing too, would definitely recommend the place and will do business again here.

I called 6 junkyards in the Rockford Area today. This is the only one that was able to give me a fast quote, AND pick up my car WITHIN AN HOUR. All the other locations said something along the lines of Idk, could be sometime this week, whenever the driver gets a round to it. They also gave a great price and the man I spoke with was kind and professional. I really appreciate the service here.

Frauds!!!!! They lie about engine miles. They also keep deleting my review. Kevin is very rude over the phone unless hes taking your credit card number thats the only time he is polite. Be warned. Read other reviews and put it together that these guys are crooks. I wish I had used my better judgment and not risked buying from these felons.

STAY AWAY FROM ROCK CITY !!!!Brought a engine for a customer installed it car started up rammed rattled knock then locked up within 5 to 10 minutes . This is a 2002 Audi A4 3.0 in which take about 24 hours to remove and replace.engine have been removed for over a week now promises promises that’s it customers at my place of busy daily very upset and I have no clear answer for him cause all I get is promises .As a automotive repair facility I’m afraid to get any parts from Rock city look like I’m going to have to eat the labor and customer have to chargeback for his money ...

I kept asking then for what i wanted and they interrupted the whole time.Update:So Ive gotten four calls and two very long text messages from the owner not even an hour after I called this business. He made me feel unwelcome and constantly asked me to take down my bad review on his business. I felt very harassed and afraid by this man and will never go to this business ever.

DONT GO HERE. I purchased an engine from them and they gave me a completely different ENGINE. KEVIN the one guy thats at the counter who answers calls refused to give me my money back due to their policy So they exchanged the engine. My mechanic put it back and it was KNOCKING AND SMOKING.Now when I call him back he gives puts me on hold. I paid for the labor to put it in and Id have to pay for it to be taken back out.2 months later my car still isnt running. ROCK CITY WILL PUT YOU THROUGH HELL

Had exactly what i needed for a fair price with easy pick-up

Bought a used transmission from these jokers. Asked what they had available for a 04 trailblazer. He said he had two. One with 120,000 miles $450 another with 119,000 miles $550. I asked for the cheaper of the two. They said they would have it ready for me. So i arrange to use a vehical to go down and pick it up. I live in Wisconsin btw. Took me about 5 hours to remove the old tranny. Called and asked when I could pick up said transmission. I was told tomorrow afternoon. I informed him that would be on my way after picking up my boys from school. Just after 3pm. I would arrive close to closing time. So the next day I head down to Rockford. An hour away. They call at 3:30 says they wouldnt have it out today. Having equipment problems. Ok. I get it. Stuff happens. Next morning I go to get it. Im told 10:30 it would be ready. I show up a little early. Because I dont like to be late. Its still in the vehical! The vehical they took it out of has obviously had a fire in the engine compartment. Against my better judgement. I took the transmission. Which was covered in soot. I get it home, start cleaning it up. Clean the sticker off to find out its a 02 transmission.. not an 04 like I asked for. I call them and explain this. He said well it came out of an 04 trailblazer. I told him I was looking at the tag and it was an 02 trans. He said. Well I dont know about that. Explained that it had obviously been in a fire, the housing was totally black, the neutral safety switch was partially melted and it didnt have the same harness that I needed, and the fluid inside was black. I was told he had video of the vehical running and driving under its own power.. pretty hard to believe after an engine fire that cooked off all the paint on the front end. So I go back down there (the next day)and get my neutral switch off my old trans. Put everything back together. 7 hours.. Go for a test drive. Major slipping going into third and no forth gear. So I call them again. He says he has another one with 120,000. 119,000 and some change. So 120. So I tell him Ill be down tomorrow to pick it up. He says ok. Well call you when its ready. Go down Wednesday to get it. Im told it wasnt ready. They said we told you we would call when it was ready. Should be done tomorrow afternoon. Thursday goes by. No calls. Friday morning he calls and asks if I still wanted to pick up the trans. That he wasnt in the shop yesterday but one of his guys called and left a message that it was ready.. funny thing is. I had no missed calls and no new voicemails. Hmmm.. wonder who they called.. sure as hell not me. Drop off the old pile.. bring the new one home. Install it, 5 hours. Go to put the dip stick back on. No gasket.. the housing just rattles in the tranny.. isnt that just great! So I call them up. 10 min to closing time.. no answer.. Im betting he knows the number by now.. call a few more times back to back. No answer. So i leave a message.. damn answering machine cant even do its job right and cuts me off. Big surprise. Still no call back from them.. up until the last time I called them. I was very polite. I understand that some things are just out of our control. But thats no excuse for not putting in any effort to make sure you give a person what they are paying for.. Dont waist your time with these guys. They dont know what they are selling, they obviously dont inspect what they are selling, to make sure its in working order or fully intact.. Ill never go back to rock city auto.

I wrote a bad review for a phone call interaction with an employee. I received many phone calls, voice messages, and a text message with apologies trying to rectify the situation. The situation is rectified in my eyes. I cannot change or delete a review that I cant see. It isnt there, plain and simple. I even logged out of my google account and still couldnt find it. Call or email google.

I called to ask about the availability of some carburetor parts and was told they do not sell the parts for the carburetor but they do carry used carburetors, however were out of stock. I began to ask questions about the conditions, testing, etc about the used carburetors and was basically yelled at in a condescending manner telling me they are out of stock. I would have bought a used carburetor from this business when one arrived but I am taking my business else where due to the rude employee I spoke with.
