I took my car in yesterday morning for an oil change. The mechanic said my serpentine belt was frayed...I said cant be, I just had a new one installed. Later on that same day, the serpentine belt popped off the pulleys and I almost hit a car while turning the corner bc my power steering went out! I went to my regular mechanic this morning and guess what? Not a frayed piece of material on that serpentine belt! So, this makes me wonder how the belt just popped off the pulley at a place that just did an oil change but for some reason checked out the serpentine belt?? Yes, they are friendly, but my gut tells me they have an agenda. Now, today, because of that belt coming off, I am facing an invoice for the work my mechanic has to do to clean up this mess!! Thanks a bunch...

Even though they couldnt fix my car because without hearing the noise...they were professional and courteous. They let me and one of their mechanics take my car out for 30 plus minutes to try and get it to make the noise. I called them a week later because it gave me a error message after it made the noise. However this time they were able to put it on the machine to find the codes. They were unable to fix it this time as well. But instead of trying to fix it they told me it was out of their expertise and suggested I take it to the dealer. Which showed that they care about their customers. So I would totally recommend taking your vehicles to Butitta Brothers on North Main.

Fantastic crew of professionals so far as my eyes could see. Took me in on a cancelation when they were completely booked a whole week out! They were all friendly and provided me with vital information that will make my vehicle run better in the future. Advice taken. And when I am ready to bring it in, to Butitta Bros I will go! I use to drive my vehicles from Chicago to this location for oil changes and maintenance work. However after spending thousands of dollars over the time I have use there service i would never do business with them again. My check engine light came on I brought my vehicle to them they had it for over a week saying it was one issue waited for the part. Mind u we live in Chicago had to rent a vehicle that cost me over 500 because they had my vehicle so long. I come back to get my vehicle paid almost 600 for the work drive back to Chicago never made it to my house the check engine light came back on. I called Neil he said bring it back in and we will take a look. I did they couldnt figure out the problem and said it could be a couple things but they would have to take the engine out to see. Then said it would be in ur best interest to bring the vehicle to the dealership. I brought the vehicle to my local hyundai and they had certified mechanics looking over my vehicle determine the issue and it had nothing to do with what they charged me for the first time. Then Neil told me after we brought the vehicle back when the check engine light came on again didn u think this was a free job. Well yes it was supposed to be done right the 1st time. Needless to say they lost about 6 good paying customers my entire family use to go there.

Good customer service. They’re good for an oil change, but they quoted on new struts for a Ford Focus, at $1200. That seemed outrageous so I did research on parts and expected labor and with other shops. Consensus is that’s over double the price.

Living in Wisconsin and my girls go to school in Rockford now trying to find a garage that is honest and wont take you for a ride. I found Butitta Brothers. I disagree, because it is five star not three. I have been going there for years and I have always been treated with respect. And the work thas always been well done. Im a old lady that used to know alot about car, but now things are different. I have told many people that theyre truly trustworthy.

Excellent service!

Brought a truck over to have the technicians flush the cooling system. I got a call a few hours later and they said that the vehicles heater core had a leak and they ran a check on the cooling system and found out a head casket was leaking into the cooling system. Not cost effective to fix. Didnt charge me for the diagnostics. Saved me a big head ache. Highly recommend these guys.

(Be cautious of these positive comments. A lot of the 5 star reviews are not honest and are probably the business planting them here) Dont think they are bad mechanics but they are definity a run you for your money kind of place. Not sure about the honesty of most of their work. For one thing, they have a window peering into the shop from where you sit that they keep the blinds over, so it gives me a sense of dishonesty. Secondly, and most importantly, they overcharge big time. They dont charge hourly based on actual work, that I can tell. I had a $50 sensor replaced and it cost me $260. Price gouging does not help your business. Their labor is $90/hour. I was there for around 3 hours so Im confident they charge you the entire time youre there instead of just when they find a problem and fix it. They didnt even find the problem but performed guess work that I later found out wouldnt really affect the problem I wanted fixed much. That doesnt sound like the kind of work worth $90/hour. Ignorant people are their targets. Dont be ignorant and unaware of things around them. I hope this convinces future customers to be wary.

If I could give negative I would!! My car was taken here for ONE thing, and ONE thing only a Gear shift...picked it up and my engine is jumpy, my TC Light wont go off and my stero wont even come on...all those things were good BEFORE it was taken there...this was my first and my last time going there!! DO NOT take your car there!! unless you want more problems than you started with!!

Charged me for an oil change they didnt do...which I found out by taking to another shop a month later. Told me I needed a $3000 repair that I didnt need- charged me $1200 for front brakes that didnt even need to be replaced- and I had a weird noise upon return of my car that they said was a coincidence. Not sure if they took advantage of me because Im a woman or they just thought I was an easy target. I will never go here again.

Ive used these guys a couple of times, and they are tops - expert and honest.A while back my Outback had a bad rattle underneath and I couldnt find it; I took it to Butittas and they found ice packed in above the exhaust. They thawed it out and didnt charge me anything.Ive used them ever since; never disappointed.

Definitely not a customer-friendly company. Way too expensive rates, unfriendly inefficient staff. Took them 2 long weeks to figure out what was wrong with my car and the fact that they needed to order some of the parts from other suppliers made the whole process even longer.
