Good selection of cards, games, and collectibles. Helpful, attentive staff. Plenty of table space to play. Lots of organized game play. The cards seem very well organized and the staff was very attentive, answering all sorts of pricing questions and engaging in conversation.I would like to see more board game options, but I realize there is very little money to be made on board games.
Fantastic place, but the best part was Rachels amazing customer service. My girlfriend and I went to buy some card sleeves and Rachel answered my 1,000 questions about magic (Im new to the game)They have a considerable selection of different collectible card games and lots of collectibles from animes both popular and cult. 100% satisfied with my visit.
I love this Place! DND and other rpg comics and miniatures. Come on over lets play!
Best card and anime shop. Fairest prices and friendliest staff.
I believe theyre moving as it was pretty bare inside and not much to look at. Weve been here in the past and enjoyed it quite a bit except this time around. We waited a few minute to look at a few cards but after a while it was pretty clear that the employees conversation about cards was more important. Never a hi or hey can I help you guys. So waited a few more minutes before we eventually just left. The other top cuts are amazing and have friendly and knowledgeable staff. Steer clear of this one though
My ratings solely on the merchandise, not including the events they hold since I dont play any trading card games (its very lively in that sense though, so if youre looking for a place to interact with others in that this may be a good place). With that they have expanded now that they changed from Topcut to Archrivals (lol) and now offer more merchandise in regards to Manga, plushies, figures and even gunpla. Issue is they price a lot of things like a scalper would. Like even Too Cool doesnt charge as much as they do for anime merch and they definitely overcharge a bit, like a rare basic HG Gundam kit will be sold at retail literally at any other local hobby store in town but they charge 3 times that (funny since too cool had the same kit in question a while ago for like $2 over retail). Same with the figures, Manga Id hope is sold at the price marked on the books themselves but wouldnt be surprised if its not. Ill definitely stick to topcut, but hey thats just me.
Dunno if I will be returning. They are rude to their customers.--------Since I cannot reply to your response, Im going to just post my rebuttal in my review (Doesnt Google Reviews exist to rate a store experience?). Half the stuff Im being blamed for is not even true. First off, i want to say Ive only been to five tournaments since Ive started coming to your store and I actually played in one of the tournaments (July 11th). I mostly go to trade as thats when most of the players are there. I only ask to trade after a players match has concluded and/or before or after a tournament. I know better than to interrupt during a game. I was planning to play this Sunday and maybe if youre having a BT-05 pre-release, but thats probably not going to happen now.I do admit I call a lot, but it has always been about asking for product and/or about various tournaments as I have to travel a far distance to get to your store. I dont know where youve gotten that Ive hung up on your employees as I know for a fact that I ALWAYS politely say thank you very much and I ALWAYS wait until the employee hangs up the phone (Not the other way around). Finally, youre one of the few locations in my area that sells Digimon and I want to give you my business. I current run a lot of decks (Four as of writing with a fifth on the way) that I need cards to complete. Its hard for me to justify traveling forty minutes to your store everytime I need one or two cards, so I call instead. Furthermore, the next set is being released in two weeks and Ive been getting prepped for that. I also want to say that Ive only asked to have one card held since Ive been going here (A Machinedramon).I am flabbergasted that this place considers a paying customer a waste of time. Yeah, I dont buy everything, but Ive spent a lot of time and money at this establishment. I cant believe I am being treated this way. Luckily, I found another place thats close by thats welcomed my business with open arms.
Amazing store with nice staff.
I took my five-year-old in there and he is very ADHD and has autism the staff that works in there was awesome with him and allowed him to look at and even feel the cards he is very serious about his Pokemon!!!! This place went above and beyond anything I could ever ask for thank you guys so much 😊👍😊
Ive been coming to this place to vibe and hangout with people of the hobby simce the store opened. its very much an important part of my highschool years and ill remain a faithful patron as long as im in the area
Decent hobby shop, mostly focused on Magic the Gathering. It has some other random board game items although there are a couple expansions without base games on the shelves. Some D&D models, POP figures, and graphic novels. The floor needs to be cleaned.
Great card shop. Great customer service. Lots of space. Not a lot of board game selection though.
Amazing place! Best game and card shop in town! Super friendly staff
They know there cards here! Will be back to make dinner purchases and get done cards appraised.
This location is more of a table top gaming site than it is a comic store. There are comics, but it is obvious that the place is actually catering to the gaming crowd. This is fine, but know that before you go. Further, I found the atmosphere really cold and sterile. Finally, I dont know if it is because of the vape shop next door or because of a random happenstance, but during my visit, the shop had an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. The smell was so strong that my daughter opted to return to the parking lot rather than search for a comic.
Amazing store
Great local game and comic shop. The Loves Park location does have a better selection, but this location seems to be set up more for collectors card games tournaments and general gaming use. Even if it seems busy they still have time to help the customers.
Extremely helpful with all my questions!
Staff knows me by name. Always friendly and cheap. I dont go anywhere else in town for my nerdy needs. From cards to comics and pops and posters.
Awesome placeNote: most of these reviews are when stephan was the owner. The new owner is pretty cool but seriously needs not to choose certain customers over others, especially when it comes to banning people.
Generally Ive had really positive experiences at their Loves Park location and at first had really good experiences at this one until just recently. My friend and I were in the store trying to pick up some specific cards. They werent in the display case but a worker told us they may be in the bulk cards in the room where games are held. My friend and I sat in there for quite some time and even sorted the cards as we went through the bulk to find what we were looking for. Once we found our cards, my friend went to settle at the register with the cards hed found in the unsorted bulk. To our surprise, the worker proceeded to price check all the cards my friend had dug through countless unsorted bulk boxes to find. My friend was so disgusted he told them they might as well put them in the display case. He ended up buying a few of the cards that were reasonable but I myself ended up putting my cards back into the unsorted because I no longer felt like giving them my business since what they did to my friend was so shady. I dont hate this store or its workers by any stretch of the imagination, but I will no longer give them my business unless it is a dire emergency and I need sleeves for drafting or an event is sold out at every other local trading card shop. Very disappointing as I live in walking distance of this location and was very excited to see it opening up near me.
Always a great place to play tcgs. Nice and clean, staff is super friendly.
The staff is very friendly and let me schedule a DCC game in the large back room at no cost. The shop is mostly trading cards but they had a few good RPG choices. The place was kind of dirty thigh and thats the only thing keeping it from a 5 Star review.
Update: stopped in again, looks like the store is doing better as a gaming location than a comic book store, the girl behind the counter was great and answered questions even tho busy, upgraded to 4 starsOld: On a Sunday, Ok experiences in the past. Do you open at 10am like it says on the door, noon like it says on the sign or 12:15 when you actually showed up? Ignore the *Response from Owner
The staff is very helpful and seem very nice the prices of cards are not at all bad compared to other places. If you are looking to sell cards they have a fair price compared to other places I’ve been.overall a good place
Its amazing great community great games and just a good overall environment
A fun safe place to hold a dnd session staff is friendly and the environment is welcoming
The store has greatly reduced their inventory in exchange for tables for games that go mostly unused. I like them in concept but theres better game shops in Rockford
Knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to reach out to other local vendors in the rare event theyre out of stock or unable to fulfill a need.
This is where I play D&D twice a week. Good little shop with a great staff. Better stocked with comics than games and oriented to the card players.
Mike and the staff at Topcut are very easy to talk to and extremely helpful. Whenever Im in town, I usually stop in to pick my kid brother up an action figure or a comic book. Mike and Jared are very helpful in putting together quick gifts for the holidays and they even have Dungeons and Dragons stuff! If youre looking to get into some live DnD action, they host games and events here.
Ive been going to the loves park location since 05 i loved it there and have a good experience the staff are some of the coolest people youll meet and great helpers. When I found out they opened a third store here in rockford you know I was geeked.
Good staff shop regulars are cool people too
Friendly staff who knows their products well, and lots of stuff crammed into a relatively small store. It feels crowded, and can be visually overwhelming, but is such because of abundance.
Very helpful staff. Patient with children
A fun, friendly environment for people of similar interests to hang out. Great products as well.
Awesome Store Friendly Staff Awesome Comics its an awesome place
Chris gives the best backrubs.
Lots of stuff to look through. Clean and quiet.
I went there to order 1 comic book. I went back every week to check the status of my order. Every single time they said they couldnt find the order, but it should be there the following week. Every week they forgot what the order even was. On my last visit I was told they didnt even have an order placed. Lol horrible.
Great service fair prices
Amazing service 10/10 recommendation
Good place, and the people were very helpful
Man after I go here I hit resistance vapor right next door
Great local store!
Great store, great conversation
Nice clean place with a great selection
Not much of a comic shop, but great for gamers
More of a card playing comic store.
