Both my wife and I went to Johnny Pancake on 10/11 2021 around 8:30am and we both order sirloin steak breakfast. The steak had a foul smell to it and the potatoes did not have any flavor. The waitress was rude and in a hurry. The whole atmosphere was cold. Worst experience ever had in a restaurant. Did manage to eat the toast and egg which were just okay. Left the whole steak and the potatoes. Will never go back. Would give zero if I could.

We were there for Fathers Day breakfast. We had about a 15 minute wait, and most of my party was later than that.The menu was typical of a diner but atypical swedish pancakes. (Which we did not try)The food was superb and arrived timely. My son and his GF had skillet breakfasts, grandson had pancakes and bacon. I had an omelet and pancakes. (I brought the omelet home with a side of biscuits and gravy)The service was above par. Prices very reasonable. Homey atmosphere.The decaf coffee was tasteless, Im not sure why diners think decaf drinkers want bland coffee. (Ive had some excellent decaf in diners)And the signage is almost nonexistent, which made my kids late.
The food is very good here. 3rd time eating here for breakfast and it hasnt disappointed. The staff is friendly, got seated quick. Definitley recommend this place for sure!!!

We were seated with two seats to the next customer. Yet these people were seated with only one seat between. This was brought to you courtesy of the man in the blue shirt. He claimed it was because of our governor. When I co fronted him about it,, he laughed and walked away. Weird how the rules only apply to some and not all.THEY GET NO MORE OF MY BUSINESS!!!!

Curbside pick up right now. Put in the order and it was ready quickly. Pancakes, eggs and skillet breakfasts were delicious. Friendly staff too.

My bias aside because its literally the closest restaurant to my house. Id put this at the top of my list of places to go for breakfast. Best swedish pancakes in town, and thats saying a lot with Stockholm Inn nearby. It is small but its worth the wait! Great waitstaff as well.

This is one of the best restaurants in town! Ive tried almost everything on their menu, I must say their pancakes are the bomb! All the staff are friendly and they remember your name if youre a frequent diners like my wife and I are.

Awesome food and awesome service. I love sitting at the counter and looking at the motorcycle in the middle. I truly like going to this location instead of the one on State Street. The workers are friendlier and the Ambiance is better.

Love this place. But somethings changed about the pie. I often stop just to take pie home but was disappointed with it my last visit. Choc creme was almost uncut table & even chewy texture was odd.The coconut had no sweetness at all. Unsure if they changed recipes but I miss the old

Stood there waiting for 30 minutes.. watch people walk in and get seated ..this happened multiple times. Then after standing there for 30 minutes I hear the host tell other people there is another waiting room with chairs..why the hell have I been standing there for a half hour..I left .will not be back.!!

Great place for breakfast. Super friendly. Prices about the same as other places like this. Dinner is a fun place to visit also and it is connected to Kegels Harley-Davidson. The only problem is it has half the seating as the original Johnny Pamcakes in Rockford on State Street. Its always busy for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday but on those really nice days a lot of bikers like to stop there and show off their Harleys while they enjoy a great breakfast. The Swedish pancakes are terrific if you like swedes. Just as good as Stockholm Inn.
