Wonderful experience for an actual first time firearm purchase. They were very helpful providing information about where to get training, when we requested it.The experience was not overwhelming as I thought it might be & they were spot on with a training company they recommended. Glad I finally moved forward on this!

The best local family owned gun shop around. Honest, non pushy sales staff. If someone doesn’t know the answer they will find out for you! Friendly service, knowledge staff, and selection (minus covid) is great! Not overcrowded, organized and always clean. These kinds of things are noticed and part of the reason I come back. Sig elite dealer is sweet too! A repeat customer and will be coming back for all of my needs!

I have used Nor Cal Gun Vault for FFL transfers and they are prompt and communicate very well. With the most recent FFL request, I sent them an email at 4:46 p.m. and got a reply from Eddie at 4:50 p.m. confirming they sent their license information so my order can be shipped to them. 4 minutes!!! Now thats awesome service. They earned my business during the pandemic because they are the ONLY local gun shop that answers their phone and they will answer all your questions without rushing you off the phone. Nice clean shop with knowledge staff. I recommend Nor Cal Gun Vault for all your firearm needs.

First time in NCGV this morning to do a couple of PPTs. Store is awesome. Never realized this was even here. Great selection of guns, ammo, and accessories. Employees were awesome, and diligent at multi tasking to ensure coverage for all patrons. Ill definitely be shopping here again. Great experience!

Brought a firearm in to have some aftermarket sights installed. I was told it would take 6 hours which sounded reasonable. I wasnt able to pick it up for 3 days due to work. I went to retrieve my firearm 3 days later and was told it wasnt done yet. I wasted a 45 minute round trip drive and wasnt able to use my firearm over the weekend. They kept saying that they were short staffed? At least give me an update. Will most likely be taking my business elsewhere and I encourage others to do the same.Edit: They have now had my firearm for 5 days...

Overall could be decent place but one of their staff ruins it all, very loud, talks in vulgar language and laughs loud to where its hard to talk and hear others, and overall behaves not only unprofessional but even inhuman. The mentioned staff also walks around with food and drinks around clients, again talking loudly, then obviously without washing hands touches store and clients guns. Obviously he doesnt have the brain to act normal and thinks its ok. But he is disgusting, not sure why management doesnt see this, next time Ill go to another store where there are normal staff that know how to act and respect others.

First time going in this store. Lady at counter look up a Ruger revolver for me that Ive been interested in buying. Wasnt available but she gave me directions on how to look it up on internet and in case it comes in stock she glad to help at the store. Bought a little bit bit of ammo. Definitely be back. Terrible customer service. Waited for 10 minutes at the gun counter to take a look at a hunting rifle. The price and model were right, so I was ready to buy it that day. I just needed to hold it before solidifying my decision. After they served 3 people who came in after me, I asked for a hand from an employee who walked by. The girl said they were “short staffed” and that I had to wait. There were about 8 people working behind the counter, some of which appeared to be goofing off. After another 15 minutes of waiting and a few more people getting served ahead of me, I left and bought a similar gun at Bass Pro.

Very unfriendly. They were more into there group talk then helping me buy a rifle. I even had more then enough money in my pocket to buy. Plus swearing as I walked in with daughter an continued for a few minutes. Your loss guys and someones elses gain.

This is a serious place for serious people the employees here are super knowledgeable and up-to-date with all new laws. If they dont have it you cant buy it in California. Hands down the best Armory Ive ever been to.

This is by far the best gun shop in the Sacramento area. They actually answer their phones here, unlike every other gun shop right now. The entire staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. All of them will greet you and ask if you’ve been helped.I bought a shotgun through an online auction site and NorCal Gun Vault was the receiving FFL for my transaction. I had an awesome experience here, i called earlier to see if they had something in stock, the gentlemen was very professional and helpful, and when I came to the store the employees that helped me were on top of it, background check was quick and easy, the cashier was very efficient, I felt very comfortable at this store, some gun stores dont like you asking alot of questions. I walked in last week in mid afternoon. Not one employee said hello Two young men working and one older man teaching a class. Walked the entire store and still had zero employees ask if i need anything? I will purchase at the Gunrange where employees talk to people.

I took my husband in to purchase a firearm and we were definitely impressed. Went in to acquire an FSC card a couple weeks ago. Took almost an hour to do, when I dont believe it should have. Made an appointment and didnt get my test issued for about 20 minutes after appointment time. Also took over 30 mins to get my results. Maybe it was because the staff were overwhelmed or maybe it was bad service. Not sure...At least the staff members who helped me out were nice, I will admit that.

First off, I recommend coming here! I decided to stop by before New Years came along and it was worth it. Huge selection and beautiful display of rifles, shotguns, and handguns plus accessories. Jared helped me out, he was very friendly and was able to answer all my questions! They have a couch and coffee as well for customers, would definitely suggest stopping by!

Terribly slow service. Go somewhere else and get much better service. Everyone is dealing with higher traffic but this is the only gun store Ive waited without help for this long.

I have bought several guns from them and it is the usual fair of paper work but the issue is not the paperwork but the lack of follow through. I have asked and called about magazines and an air pistol that SIG is producing and I would like to order one. The issue began when I bought a shotgun and bought five magazines for the gun that Gun vault did not give me after making multiple attempts to get them to order them and provide them. After months I still have only four magazines and I have never had them call me about the last magazine that I ordered. I also wanted the new super match air pistol by SIG and I was told they would order it for me but never followed through and I could never get a straight answer about getting one. I would have a mixed bag of answers between management and the sales staff and I could never get the two of them to work together enough so I could just get a simple air pistol ordered. The magazine and the air pistol I can order on line and I will not have them order anything for me since it still is just a massive hassle. The store is nice and being able to grab a diet coke while I shop is a matter of comfort, but at the end of the day if I am looking for something and it is not in the store when I am shopping I do not expect them to be very helpful at all in order for me to fulfill my gear needs.

I walked in to this gun shop expecting the same gun shop experience. Some jerk trying to prove how much he may or may not know about guns. Or, like Wild Bills, no help at all. I was greeted by gentlemen that genuinely wanted to help. Super friendly. No pressure. Really great guys to interact with and buy from. I will gladly make the drive from elk grove to buy from them again.

Purchased my first 2 firearms here. They have a pretty big selection of all firearms, including some used. I always get incredible attending service and everyone on the floor seems educated on their firearms and firearms topics. Prices are fair. I highly recommend.

This is a long time coming but I came in first part of January Eddie helped me I was looking for a holster and magazine holder for my Smith and Wesson m&p shield we spent a good 30 minutes and got it but I picked up the wrong magazine holder went home so the next week I went back to return it with no problem at all and turns out they didnt have a holder I need the younger man that helped me we spent an hour looking on the internet for one that would work for my needs the whole team is great from Eddie down I cant say enough about themThank you very much John

This is the experience everyone should get when going to a gun store. They are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and well stocked. I would highly recommend this store to anyone. I wish more gun shops had the customer service that these guys have.

Purchased an M&P Shield 9mm today, could not be happier with my choice of LGS. I took my firearm certification here months ago, was in the market for another firearm and came back without hesitation.NCGV is the best of the best, the gentleman at the counter (Dave? I think) that assisted me with my choice was professional and courteous. Courtney the lady behind the counter was awesome and efficient with the paperwork.I cant wait till my pickup date, you guys cant speed up time can you?

A great gun shop what more can you say? The folks that run this place seem very down to earth and helpful. Never pushy, just very nice. Evryone there seems very knowledgeable about their firearms and there is a great selection to be had. If they dont have what you are looking for, chances are California is the culprit, not them. Ive been to many gun shops and these folks seem to be the most welcoming around.

I went to this store because it is owned by a Vet... not ONE man or woman in this store ever asked me if I needed help. I was there to purchase 2 guns and ammo... I stood at the gun counter waiting for help, even stood looking at several employees that were standing behind the counter doing nothing. So much for supporting this business, they obviously do not need it.

Walked in just to get ideas for a new carry weapon and was immediately greeted by a counter person. He was very professional and showed me his personal favorite carry weapon. I asked to see a few more just to be sure of what I liked and after review I ended up going with his recommendation. It was the best fit for me. It was also on sale for what I could buy it for online. I also purchased a holster that fit my body type and carry position. Everything was in stock and the paperless registration process was seamless. Their customer service was amazing, all their employees are very knowledgeable and actually had a sense of humor. All in all I enjoyed my experience. There was no pressure, I got what I wanted and will return for my next purchase. Much better than the black rifle place I used to shop.

My FSC card was getting old and torn and they went ahead and laminated my card so it will no longer get damaged. They didn’t even ask me, they just did it. The observations about this place being very hit-or-miss with customer service are spot on. I dont see why they tolerate such lackadaisical, apathetic and generally ignorant employees in an environment that has other employees who are knowledgeable, very helpful and customer service oriented. It reflects very poorly on the store as a whole and undermines the effort put in by the employees who truly make a point to assist you.After placing an order several weeks ago, We were telephoned by the store saying that the order was ready and all of the items contained within the order had been set aside. However, when we arrived, less than half of the items in the order had actually been set aside, leaving the woman behind the counter, who clearly had less than zero knowledge of anything gun related, to wander around the store repeatedly asking her otherwise occupied coworkers for assistance in locating all the items that we had already been told were ready for payment and pick up. Unprofessional, unorganized and utterly unacceptable.

Came into the store with my wife who was looking to buy a new pistol after speaking with staff member Bryce and was immediately greeted by a female staff member who was very prompt and helped us right away. Allot of staff on hand to assist with question and or purchasing firearms. Many options to choose from. I found an item I was looking for for a few month there. Their prices are comparable to online retailers. I also liked the fact they have their DOJ background questionnaire is computer based.

I Called last Thursday to inquire about a Kimber revolver that nobody seems to stock. I was told they could have it in 7 to 10 days for $1,076. I called on Sunday afternoon to inquire about their special order policy and was told that special orders needed to be paid in full. Drove from Grass Valley to Roseville to pay for the gun, told the female clerk who apparently does the ordering what I was wanting to do, and she said she would check on it next week and call me with the total. I told her that I had just driven down from Grass Valley and had a quote from last Thursday and that Id like to pay for it. She told me that that price wasnt current, it would cost more ($1099)and it might take a month or two. Incredulously, I said that was 4 days ago. She said that she wasnt the one that quoted it and she couldnt honor it nor could she even ring it up today. Strangely every other shop I had called trying to find someone that had the gun in stock had quoted me about the same price, right at $1075. I will take my business elsewhere, to another shop that respects my time and honors their word.

Nice store with good selection. Prices are close to MSRP on most guns but expected for the location and large setting for the store. However, very hit and miss with customer service. Came in the first time and met a great older gentleman who had me sold on this place. Last two times I came in I felt like they didnt want to help me at all. I know looks can be deceiving and maybe the older gentleman understands this in sales but I walked out not buying what I needed. Still drive back to ElkGrove just for the customer service. I purchase one handgun per month (by law) and a rifle at the same time for dros. Really wanted this to be my new store since Im five minutes away. Maybe Ill see the older salesman again if I come back.Edited Review - have been back since so edited my summary. Service was better and didnt see the two salesmen that gave me the cold shoulder. Havent decided to switch stores but am feeling better about this place now.

Would prefer certain businesses appreciate their customers a bit more rather than take advantage of systematic, unconstitutional laws - but hey a buck is a buck I guess? Lincoln Gun will send repairs in free of charge, even if you didnt purchase it through them, unlike certain stores that will, even if you did purchase through them. Also, type Gunbroker FFL search on google if you want a transfer fee + bground check for under $50 less than 10 miles from you, not double that. Support businesses who support you. Oh and ammoseek ( dot com ) for the cheapest cent per round locator, before brick and mortar stores really have fun with Californias laws. Guess my nearly 2 grand wasnt worth some customer service, maybe next time :) Also google reddit + gundeals on google, you wont find cheaper!

12-days and still no response to my online and email request about the availability of a Beretta A400 shotgun. Gave up and ordered it from Rocklin Armory. Bought guns here in the past and most were ordered. Anyway guess times have changed.

In looking for a CA dealer to handle a transfer from out of CA state, was told by Gun Vault staffer that all guns shipping from another state to CA had to be sent by an FFL. (Later learned that this is BS, it is only the gun shops policy, not CA law.) So, had my local dealer contact Gun Vault to line up shipment, only to learn that dealers shipping to CA must go through a process with CA state to acquire approval to ship a gun into the state, something my local dealer was not especially interested in doing on a one-off shipment. This was not mentioned in my earlier call with Gun Vault during which I was led to believe that simple submission of FFL was all that was needed. Wasted my time, and that of my local dealer. After researching I learned that person-to-CA FFL does NOT require the CA document/approval (explicitly stated on CA Attorney Generals website). No thanks whatsoever to Gun Vault, I was able to lawfully ship as an individual to a more cooperative/less deceitful FFL in CA to successfully complete the transfer. I am aware that many CA dealers decline to handle shipments from individuals due to the CA hassles, and that is fine, but Gun Vault was dishonest in representing FFL-to-FFL as the only lawful way to handle a transfer, and further, not being up front with me re the administrative hoop-jumping required. Certainly could have been more helpful. Bottom line: I do not trust these guys and recommend that others tread carefully in considering doing business with them.

I came across this place on accident. I was planning on going to the store that used to occupy this location but as I pulled into the parking I remembered that the old hobby town had moved. Pleasantly I was surprised to see it replaced with Nor Cal Gun Vault. I am always interested in checking out a new gun shop so i stepped inside. I was pleased to see a nicely designed and clean shop. To my right were all types of semi automatic sporting rifles and to the left were handguns and hunting rifles.The handguns were displayed by caliber which was an easy way to know what you are looking at. They seemed to have everything that is legal in california.The staff were well dressed and clean. The thing I liked is that they were not trying to be intimidating like the jokers at tds guns, which I think stands for (Tatical Dip Shits). No fatigues or combat boots here. There is nothing worse than a gun store full of wanna be rangers and seals.Prices were fair and I was shocked to see plenty of 22lr ammunition in stock. They had all sorts of accessories from lights to tannerite. It is now my new favorite gun store.Thanks Norcal Gun Vault
