I came to get my windshield fixed for a small crack on the bottom left (drivers side), and left with an even bigger crack as shown in the second photo. I paid the initial cost of $129 to fix the crack, but they tried to make me pay $871 for damages that they caused.I got inside my vehicle to leave only to see that my brake reader had come apart and the “manager” tried to argue with my wife and I saying that they hadn’t caused it yet it wasn’t like that when I came. Never ever coming back to this place. The most unprofessional establishment I’ve been to. I do not recommend.

Bang! The sound no one wants to here when driving on the highway. A chip in my windshield turned into a small crack and then a very large one.Bummer, right?Today was my appointment to get that fixed and my insurance directed me to the Safelite location in Rockville. Upon entering,I was greeted and helped promptly and the time frame for service was discussed. My keys were taken along with my car, to the shop.As I am a curious person, I asked if I could watch the service and I was told I could as long as I did so from outside the shop.Michael, the tech working on my car was awesome! He worked quickly and thoroughly. He was jamming out to some tunes, so I didnt ask all the questions I wanted too, but we did chat for a bit and I could tell that he liked his work and that he was on a mission to get the job done!When I got back into the office, Daniel was there and he couldnt have been nicer. My keys were given back to me and off I went. Very happy to say that the time frame we discussed before the work began turned out to be shorter that quoted. I was in and out in less than an hour.So, thank you to the entire team at this location. Nice work today!

Really grateful to Safelite here in Derwood for repairing our windshield so quickly! Issue came up with the windshield and we are heading on a road trip in 2 days. Extremely dissatisfied. Went.there with small chip which could have easily been filled at no charge with my insurance. They asked me to come out to my car and showed me an 8 inch crack that happened when they started the process. Now I need a new windshield with a $200 deductible. Its not going to be from Safelite.

This SafeLite turned a $390 rear-window installation into over $1,000 trunk repair - BE WARY!!!!09/30 @ 8:00am - I open the trunk of my Jeep to clean out glass debret before taking it to SafeLite, it opens/closes perfectly fine, and locks, several times - just like the night before when I cleaned up some broken glass. 9:00am - I drop off my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee to get the rear windshield replaced - 11:19am I get a call from my technician Danny, Hi Alex, the rear windshield is replaced but it looks like some glass got stuck in the locking mechanism of your trunk and now it wont close, sometimes this happens, Id take it to your dealership, but your Jeep is ready! - I pick it up at noon and pay $387 for the window replacement. Then I take it to my dealership for repair - they call this morning 10/01 @ 8am to say the locking mechanism needs to be replaced altogether for $755 because a poor glass-cleanout/window installation was performed which caused glass to jam up and break the locking mechanism.Im not a detective but my trip to SafeLite has cost me over $1,000, 65%+ of which they should be paying for because they broke the locking mechanism in my trunk.

I booked an appointment for Mar 27, 21 for my windshield to be repaired. When I arrived to the appointment, I was informed it was not going to be the Mercedes glass that I wanted for the car. That was the first wasted appointment! was told that they would order the appropriate glass and call me to bell the appointment. No one contacted me after several days and on Apr 5, 21 I called to see the status of the glass. The person on the line said the information in the computer was for me to call, not them😐. Nevertheless he booked me another appointment for today Apr 17, 21. Which I received a text notification for. I arrived to my appointment today and the person at the desk said I did not have an appointment. The notes showed that they ordered the glass this past Monday, and it would take 10 days for it to arrive.Very poor ineffective communication. Lack of professionalism. 100 percent would not recommend unless you just like you time to be wasted.

They are the absolute worse. Submitted claim on Feb 1. Technician arrives, but claimed could not do installation because he needs to order molding. A week later, Theresa from Safelite, called to confirm if I still wanted a service their technician supposedly rescheduled. At that, point they decided to order the molding. Yet, it didnt get ordered because of molding cost, $500+, they sought and received insurance approval. For consecutive weeks I had to follow-up with Theresa because she wouldnt consistently follow-up with me, and Im being kind. Frustrated with Theresas inactivity, I hoped her manager, Daniel, would be more helpful. He sounded promising and made promises to follow-up. He failed to follow-up and made excuses, instead of owning the mistakes that lead to this failure. After I called Daniel to follow-up, I was informed the molding would not arrive until March 02! I immediately disconnected, called another vendor, Auto Glass warehouse, and they offered to install the windshield that day at their location, if I wanted. Or they would install at my location the next day. I chose the next day. Auto Glass warehouse price was a 1/3 the cost of what Safelite quoted me before they had to order a $500+ molding, making it a 1/5 of the cost. I provided details so u understood why I could have succinctly stated Safelite sucks!

I had a small quarter sized nick in my windsheild and it was repaired in under an hour. I would HIGHLY reccomend this center to anyone with a repairable windsheild.

It was supposed to be an hour and a half job. Then they kept my car for THREE DAYS making one excuse after another before admitting they could not get the camera calibration right after replacing the windshield. What a hassle!! But I finally got to the DISTRICT manager who was so helpful and responsive and refunded my deductible. Lesson learned: If you have a new car with safety cameras And you need to replace a cracked windshield, go to the car DEALERSHIP. I did not know they did windshields but they do and they do them right.

Scheduled my service for the end of the week. A day later called and claimed they could not order my windshield for another month. I visited a local shop and was able to replace the windshield the same day for a lower cost. Do not use this location or chain.

Safelite might be a nationally known brand and trusted/recommended by many insurance companies, however, their quality of service, professionalism, and timeliness is far inferior to local brands. My rear windshield on my SUV shattered recently and I was pointed towards Safelite via Nationwide insurance. Not only did they schedule my appointment towards the end of the week (more than 6 days without a back windshield in my car), they had the audacity to call me the next day and cancel the service and claim the windshield is on back order for potentially a month. I immediately called my insurance company and after some online browsing, found Auto Glass Experts in Gaithersburg who was able to find the part and replace my rear windshield the NEXT day while offering a lower price than Safelite. Do not use this particular location or Chain. Teresa, the lady I spoke with on the phone was not only unhelpful but quite rude with her responses to my queries. I highly recommend looking elsewhere even if your insurance company recommended you. Stay AWAY!

I have an older model car and specifically asked them if this would be an issue. They said it was not. All the paperwork included the year and model number. When they showed up to replace it on site, they told me it was a shop job, would have to be scheduled and was going to cost more than what they quoted.

Scheduled a windshield replacement and they could not even offer next day installation. Claimed to have to back order my windshield from the dealer when local shops had it in stock and were able to install the next day. Teresa, the lady I spoke with on the phone was not rude and abhorrently dismissive of her customers. Do not visit this location. Stay away and look elsewhere.

Driving on 95 in my new Infiniti when a rock hit my windshield rafter a large truck passed me leaving a defect in the center of my windshield the size is a dime. I watched it slowly expand over the course of 3 months. I assumed I had to get a new windshield and did not feel like paying for it. My colleagues told me to call Safelite but I was busy and procrastinated. I thought how can u repair a defect in glass u have to replace the entire windshield. Well I was Standing in line one day 2 weeks ago and googled safelite. There was one 3 miles from my home. I made an appointment on my iPhone. It was so easy, straightforward and user friendly. It gave me the option to pay now or pay later. I took my car in and 10 minutes later it was done. I walked out and looked if the defect. I was shocked! The 2 small cracks that I had been watching expand over the course of 3 months were gone! The defect itself has been reduced by 85-90% and could only be noticed if you looked for it. I was so shocked I actually walked back in and asked the gentleman behind the counter how they did it. He looked at me and grinned! The fact that I did not take it in when it first happened was plain stupid! Hopefully there won’t be a next time but lesson learned. Thank you Safelite for restoring my new car look.

The windshield cracked on our VW Atlas. Geico booked an apointment with Safelite. They used VW OEM class and had the car done they same day. They were amazing!!

The store manager, Daniel had my windshield and carpet repaired due to the windshield leaking.He was very helpful and a great store manager. When I picked my car he showed me what was done. He deserves recognition for his excellent customer service and friendliness!!I recommend the Rockville Safelite location 100%!!!

The staff was professional and polite and so far the repair looks ok. What was not alright was that they did not remove all of the glass from the broken window. There are still tiny shards of glass on the seat, bigger pieces (about 1 cm) on the floor and glass pieces in the door seal. I expect that this would be part of the service I paid for.

The reviews talking about how difficult it was to get an appointment were true. Although the people that I talked to were somewhat nice, the shop and company as a whole seemed dysfunctional at this time compared to other glass companies. After scheduling my appointment, it kept getting pushed back further and further without much notice, until they told me they no longer had the parts necessary, and it would be another week. (I had already waited a week up to this point, driving around with a shattered windshield). If you are in a rush to get your windshield fixed, this isn’t the place for you.

I may not have had the windshield replaced in a bmw so they left foot prints in my seat(just had truck detailed) few days prior. Also left all this black rubber I’m assuming the old seal trash all on seats and floor etc. they were quick and messy.

Jason replaced the cracked windshield of my 2011 Hyundai Elantra in my driveway in less than an hour. He also replaced the windshield wipers and cleaned the glass so well to the point that it is like driving a new car. He is truly an expert at his craft.

The tech, Daniel, exceeded my expectations. He repaired my windshield chip so well that the damage was no longer visible. Also, he went above and beyond by doing a complimentary interior vacuuming, window cleaning, and backup cam cleaning. I didn’t expect these additional services free of charge. First, they will come to you, but you will pay for that service (which I didnt realize until the end of the check-out process). They have many locations and I found one that was really convenient to my work. I dropped the car off and got a call that it was ready within the estimated time frame. Everyone at the shop was really friendly and they had all the information I had filled in on the website, so I didnt have to repeat. The price stayed the same, the materials seem to be a good quality. Overall, I would highly recommend this service and this location specifically, because they were great.

Awful . avoid at all costs. First guy who changed me winshwindsleft an awful mess in my car. They replaced my windshield, then that started leaking, so they had me bring it to the shop and the guy there said it was done badly and redid it while I waited. Then the windshield started leaking again!! I have to drive around with a towel stuffed at the base of the windshield now. And I also realized that they broke all the clips that hold the cowling in place at base of windshield so now it is loose and the base of windshield is exposed. They wont respond to me anymore because its past their 30 day period and they have my money. Cowards wont back up their awful work because they didnt train any of their technicians right and they rush the job. I now have to save up my money again and have someone else fix their screw ups. Please avoid. Headliner in my car is also stained thanks to their incapable people. Do not let them touch your car.

If I could give lower than one star I would. I had an appointment to have my windshield replaced last week. I waited until almost noon (my window was 8-12) and the weather was great until they showed up and started raining and they could not do the replacement. At that time the tech said I could just have it repaired. I made ANOTHER appointment, I took off another day 2 days later and took it to the shop 30 min away where I was told it could not be repaired and they did not have my glass! The people working there were so rude. I expressed my frustration because I had been told by THEIR employee AFTER he looked at my windshield to schedule a repair. The employee at the desk offered NO APOLOGIES even though their employee directed me to have the repair done and acted like he could not have cared less. Beware they will not have your windshield to replace it that day if they damage it during a repair or decide it cant be fixed. It will require yet another appointment. I took off work rescheduled AGAIN for a replacement only to be told this morning that they did not have my glass yet. This appointment was scheduled 6 days in advance. The tech said that the glass might be on the delivery in the afternoon and said he would call me when that delivery arrived. I waited all day for them to call me back to let me know if they would be coming. They never called. I just called them, was put on hold for about 10 min. for them to tell me that they still did not have my glass! I let them know that this was the 3rd chance I had given them to do the work and was extremely frustrated. Several minutes later, they came back on the phone and said that they would take $50 off....for the 3 days that I wasted so far on this. As if I would have any confidence in them at this point or trust that they would actually get the work done one their 4th attempt. No thanks. Found a local company in Clarksburg who said they would come the next day. If only I had read the reviews before I wasted 3 days on them. Save yourself the frustration and check reviews.

I am overjoyed with the workmanship that Jason performed I told him what happened with the last technician that messed up my interior and he took care of that too outstanding, work he deserves a raise and I for one hope he gets one he truly went above and beyond his duties excellent technician he deserves more than 5 stars.

My appointment for replacement of my cracked front windshield was made through my insurance companys app. I was able to get in in a couple of days. They sent me an email confirming the appointment. Because my car has adaptive cruise control, they called to recommend that my forward camera be recalibrated. They took my car when I arrived for the appointment and it was done within an hour and a half. They charged me the original amount quoted by my insurance company, including the calibration.

Bad service and shady billing. Went their at the appointed time 5 min early and waited for 1.5 hours. My car still not attended to while I watched two people who the manager seemed to take a liking to, who came 30 min after me being attended to real fast. When I asked the guy at the front desk how long is this going to take, he ignores me and continues staring at his monitor. When I repeated the question he turns to me and with a tone that sounded like he was doing me a favor, says that If I am not happy waiting I can take my car elsewhere. I was completely speechless. Never seen anyone talking like this to a paying customer. I kept quite and went around and asked the tech with a similar aggressive response. Totally unprofessional. After 2 hours, unlike what they claim in their advert, I managed to get my car back with a dirty windshield and hand marks on my hood. I noticed they were not using covers on my hood as they worked on my car. Never go there.

Made an appointment online, safelite came out and replaced the front and rear windshields. Both had been smashed by a large tree branch meaning there was a ton of glass inside my car. Safelite went above and beyond and basically detailed my car for me, removing 100% of the glass and debris. Very impressive job! The windshields are also high quality and installed perfectly, including replacement of the necessary gaskets around the windshields. A wonderful experience overall. Thank you!

Jason was my tech and he did an amazinggggggg job! He thoroughly explained everything he was doing and also was able to fix another issue that was beneath my cracked glass. Would definitely request Jason if another issue arises.

After a bit of confusion about our appointment, we were told to bring the car in and they would take care of it. We arrived 15 minutes before closing. Everyone stayed over an hour after normal business hours to make sure that our windshield was replaced. They did not have to do this. So pleased that it was taken care of and so appreciative of their kindness.

Arrived 20 minutes early. They wrote me up right away and worked on my car almost immediately. Job time estimate was 2 hours and it was completed in a little over an hour. This was for a complete windshield replacement with windshield display re-alignment. Staff was friendly and competent. Customer WiFi is available (at the Rockville, MD location). The waiting room is small, but comfortable.

Friendly staff. Quick service. Appointments are required and it often can take several days to get an appointment. This company bought out all the smaller companies around so theyre pretty much the only ones left who can repair auto glass.

I have been waiting a week for them to repair my windshield. They keep ordering the wrong part. They were recommended through Geico.

In September, I noticed a chip in the windshield of my Lincoln MKZ and called this Safelite to repair it. During the repair attempt, the small chip became a foot-long crack. I was told that this sometimes happened, but it is my understanding that the skill of the technician, or lack thereof, can have an effect on the outcome. In any event, now I have a foot-long crack, so I arrange for Safelite to replace the windshield. They come back a week later to do the replacement. However, in putting on the new windshield the technician did not secure a piece of plastic trim. Because the plastic trim had not been secured, later that day while my wife was driving the care the plastic trim flew off on the highway. Since that time, in mid-September, I have contacted this Safelite office repeatedly in an attempt to have the plastic trim piece replaced. I have gotten the runaround, alternately being told that the part was on order and then being told that the part had not been ordered, but that they would arrange for someone to come to my house to inspect the car and the damaged area. Nothing was ever done, so having waited in vain for a resolution for 2 months I went out and purchased the trim piece and had it replaced at my own expense. Needless to say, I wont ever be using this Safelite again.

Call your local places before committing! got a quote for almost $500, called a local shop and for half the price they came out and fixed my windshield!!! My guess is so many people will use them without research because they are the first thing that pops up on google for car windshield repair

Ive had to work with Safelite in Rockville twice now - once for a crack in my window from a rock on the highway and most recently because someone broke into my car and shattered one of my windows. I cant stress enough how quick and helpful and kind this team is. Particularly when they came to my home to replace my window. They went above and beyond. They did their work quickly and enthusiastically AND were so kind when they helped me with all the shattered glass because I didnt have an effective way to clean it all yet. An amazing team of people, Im so grateful GEICO sent me to them. The repaired crack from the rock is nearly invisible and my new window looks perfect.

Am only give one star because the technician that responded to my location was amazing. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the right glass. Went in the next day to the location as directed by his supervisor and met with attitude and staff I couldn’t care less. Manager had never introduced himself, provide any apology, have a solution or give a damn. His response, “I wasn’t in on Saturday, so I don’t have an answer.” Am sorry, if you manage a business, you accept responsibility for any flaws/ mistakes that occurred. I was told come back at 1p and would be called - never happened. I showed up at 4p, they were surprised and, no windshield yet again. Again, his response not a care in the world. Will never use them for any of my vehicles.

Simple windshield replacement turned into the techs trying to fix the wipers they stripped with a hammer. Avoid and save yourself hours and hours of wasted time.

BEWARE...INFERIOR PRODUCTS APPLIEDUPDATE: I previously I wrote a raving review because I received great customer service. However, I didnt know at the time I was also receiving an inferior piece of auto glass for a very high price. The newly installed window cracked within two months and they would not replace it or fix it. They said that their warranty does not cover impact damage. For the record, this was damage from driving regularly, no accidents nor collisions. When the Safelight windshield was removed, it was revealed that they gave me a single pane window glass that was very vulnerable to elements. The glass that I had before, I had for over five years before it received a single crack and it a double pane glass. Now,I will not go back to Safelight because Thy are forever etched in my mind as ripoff artists...Earlier ReviewA rock flew off of a truck while I was driving on I-95 and put a crack in my front windshield. How awful. I called and set up an appointment to get a repair estimate. The staff there helped me right away. They were very welcoming and courteous. It was the same great service with every . The store manager, Mr. Daron Johnson, is completely awesome. This store is a definite go to spot for future auto glass replacements and repairs. Cant seem to get my windshield repair right.

Had the rear window on my truck replaced at my home. Ended up they didnt install the window correctly and it leaked really bad. Had to take the truck in for the day at the Rockville location. They replaced the rear window and it looks Ok. Havent tested it yet. Discovered that they blew the fuse to my dome lights, left the bulb out like it was the problem(it wasnt) and left some of the interior panels loose due to losing a screw and night tightening others

What a nightmare! My insurance company uses safelite as their glass provider. Never again! I scheduled to have my windshield replaced at my workplace and the technician never arrived. After fighting with safelite executive services they were finally able to schedule me for the following friday and offered a discount of $75 on the glass. The technician showed up, and then installed glass without the shade strip that I had explicitly asked for. After that they charged my credit card for more than the amount I authorized. Dont ever use this shop!
