AAMCO and the guys who work at this location are very professional and knowledgeable when it comes to vehicles! They always give an honest opinion and haven’t led me the wrong way. I have had different vehicles that I have taken to them and one time they even came out to me when my hose busted and exploded in my complex. ( talk about great customer service). Keep up the great work I recommend this shop

Very professional. Easton was great - he explained the issue and let me know options, and let me know what I needed to take care of now and what could wait - since it was a major repair. I left my GPS in the car and he went the extra mile by locking it up in my glovebox. Great communication, fast repair, quality work. I have used them before with always great success. Will use them again.

Highly recommend this shop to any of my friends and family. I have been coming here for 3 years and they always give QUALITY SERVICE. Specifically their rep Easton, not only made sure that I was getting the root of the issue taken care of, but also made sure it fit my budget. I can’t say enough how amazing this shop is. I started coming to this location 3 years ago and I don’t plan on switching else where any time soon!

I went to Keith at AAMCO Transmission because my 1995 E320 Merecdes Benz had a serious transmission leak and a pop-pop sound coming from under the hood every time I tried to accelerate. I had used Keiths services many years before on my sons Toyota. He did a wonderful job then and he did not fail me this time around either.I will say that due to the age of my car I was skeptical that these issues would be effectively addressed. I expected return trips and exorbitant costs before everything was over. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. Keith not only did a great job addressing them to my complete satisfaction the first time around, but he also took the time to explain the repairs to me and propose and justify future steps to take in order to keep my car running optimally. I felt that Keith looked after my vehicle expertly and as cost effectively as possible. He took the time to explain his recommendations, and just as importantly treated me as a customer not a woman who wouldnt understand anything car related (this was very important to me).Finding a mechanic/car shop repair owner you can trust is just as important as finding a good doctor as you are putting your life and the life of those you love in their hands. I have found that person in Keith at Rockville AAMCO.

I totaled my previous vehicle and had to obtain another as soon as possible. I purchased a vehicle from Ammco and my experience with their service, professionalism, and general interaction is a breath of fresh air in comparison to other shops. Keith is absolutely honest, timely, communicates well and really looks out for his customers. When his team consisting of Easton, and Jeff fix something like your router or break pads etc. it stays fixed!! In conclusion if you need your vehicle worked on, by people that won’t scam you, and will work on your vehicle with due diligence look no further than Ammco.

Hey, I’m giving this shop 5 starts because they were able to fix an un-none issue on my really old car. I took the car to several other shops, and could not find the problem my car was having. Yes aamco prices are more than a local/neighborhood shop. But they put in the time and effort that other places didn’t take to find the problem in my car. Great communication, answered all my questions and concerns. No, I didn’t get paid or get any special discount to write this review. I’m just showing recognition towards a job well done. I believe they are honest, pricey, and it’s a place I highly recommend.

I had a great experience with Aamco Transmission & Total Car in Rockville! I was having a problem that other mechanics were having trouble repairing. The car runs better than it has in years now and it feels good to have the check engine light finally off. The best part was that Keith the manager was there for every interaction I had. I would highly recommend getting your car serviced by Keith and his colleagues. I came to this AAMCO initially when I needed my high-mileage used car (1995 Toyota Camry) assessed for a developing transmission problem. The transmission required replacement and Keith helped to find a reasonably priced rebuilt transmission. The Camry continued to work well over the next several years until I sold it only recently in good condition. Through my time owning that car, I went back to Keith for various other maintenance related issues because of my trust in him and his team. I found Keith, his colleagues and, staff extremely professional, polite, and reasonable. I would highly recommend going to his AAMCO for your own transmission and car maintenance repairs.

GREAT experience! SO much more than transmissions...I had my 2012 Camry hybrid serviced here recently - the MOST professional place you can ask for. They check my brakes (FAST, too!) and gave a price that was lots lower than the dealer, but using the best parts on the market. The kept me in the loop the entire time (the job was done in less than 2 hours) by text, and explained the whole process, indicating what options I had, and the benefits for each one. Getting my car fixed isnt always fun, but now I know where to go for anything I need, and will get fast, professional attention from honest and friendly people. If I could give 6 stars I would!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!! They are complete and utter tools with exorbitant prices - this is my opinion after having an experience with them!!!! They failed to distinguish the engine misfire from a transmission problem (duh!) and its a GM car with the LT1 engine and 4L60E transmission that went into most of GM trucks and vans! Charged me $200 for a wrong diagnosis, blaming hesitation on carbon build up in the throttle body (that I cleaned without any effect on the performance of course) while the problem was clogged fuel lines and arching spark plug wires. Also told me that the the 3rd gear plate in the transmission was going bad so I ordered the transmission based on their advice that I had to return. When I asked for the refund, cause they could not be more wrong, they sent me to the AAMCO customer service that - guess what - sent me back to the same shop who declined to refund. On another note, I think this shop is getting so little business already that their parking lot is full of cars without plates. I suspect their main source of revenue is fixing up cars bought at dealer auctions that they then push through Craigslist. I strongly suggest, ladies and gentlemen, that we leave them alone at this and take our cars somewhere else.By the way the AAA repair shop just a block south of them fixed all my problems. Go there, get a free coffee and bottled water and much better quality!

Just had my transmission repaired at Aamco in Rockville. The Jaguar dealership told me it would cost me about $4,000.00 to have the work done. Keith did the repairs for about 1/4 of that cost. Also, he was able to reset my components and did it all within a timely manner. I would highly recommend this shop.

Over the past year Ive have been to at least 2 dealerships and one other repair shop trying to pinpoint the cause of the noises I was hearing from my 2006 Tiburon. Since the car warmed up during my ride to work, no one could hear the noise so I began recording it on my phone--still no luck. Finally I thought it might be transmission related as there was clunking sometimes when I shifted so I went to Rockville AAMCO. Well no one could hear the noise; they asked me to leave it overnight so they could try it in the morning when it was cold, but I said I had no way to get home so the owner offered to do a test ride with me. I couldnt believe it, Keith got that car to show all its noises and the next day I dropped it off and by 4 p.m. I not only had a new wheel bearing and hub, but also a new valve cover gasket. Car was down a quart of oil, and on top of that it was dirty!!! I had regular oil changes so that was a shock! Now the car is so smooth and quiet that it feels new! I am more that grateful for the terrific understanding and service I received. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

First, they quoted me an outrageous price to replace my transmission. I had to haggle them down $800. Then I got my car back and it was leaking transmission fluid. I took it back in and they told me there was no leak. It was a pain in my butt trying to get them to believe a woman knows whats wrong with her car. Turns out they had to remove and reinstall the entire transmission to fix the leak. Then they wanted to replace my battery and they berated me twice when I said Id do it myself. He was talking to me like I was stupid. Do not go here.

My Car has been at the Rockville AAMCO for 4 months and each time I call to get an update, I get a new story. I am not a technician or mechanic, so giving me excuses with car parts that I dont understand is unacceptable. I have been kept on hold waiting several times for over 20 minutes and then put to voice mail and then nobody calls me back. When I call to check the status, I am told there are many vehicles in line not just mine! Today is November 22, my last conversation with the store manager, was on November 19th, he said the car would be ready on November 30th. This is 4.5 months later! Very poor customer service and lack of follow-up. I would not recommend this store. My car is due for inspection and I have been paying for insurance and incurring transportation expenses which I should not!I am writing this on August 4th, 2019. My car is still at the Rockville AAMCO and the new story is that it will be taken to the Volvo dealer tomorrow the 5th and I can pick it in the evening. I must admit the communication is very poor by this store. I plan to call the AAMCO head office before I appear with a tow truck to take my car elsewhere for repair. A new update is that none of the technicians or mechanics that started work in my car are at the store. The turnover rate is very high and there is a lot of yelling when you visit.

Overpriced. They charge more then the actual dealer ship. They are asking $120/hr for a computer scan and visual inspection. Guess what, when you get an oil change at any other place you get this done for free. Also, they add an additional charge of a $20 on all materials. This place is a mess, workers untidy, and rude. Trust me, any gas station in Rockville will be a better choice then this place. Give yourself a break and go somewhere else.

I have a 1969 Porsche the engine of which was last rebuilt 30 years ago and after 47 years the transmission failed and a cylinder stopped firing. It had been in my family since it was new. I was at a loss as to where to take it because so few people can work on such an old car and I simply did not have the time to do it myself. I spoke with, Keith, at the AAMCO in Rockville, Maryland who told me he had a guy who was good at working on these cars. I admit, I was skeptical at first but few other options. I left the car with Keith and told him I wanted to see the transmission when it was out and apart. I got the call to go to his Gaithersburg location to meet his mechanic and see my disassembled transmission. When I arrived I met the mechanic and not only was he a nice guy who knew what he was doing and talking about, but he had all of the jobs on which he was working, not just mine, carefully laid out in perfect order. This is exactly the kind of mechanic you want to work on your classic cars - you know, OCD so no parts are left over after reassembly. After the transmission was fixed, I had Rockville AAMCO look at the misfiring problem. One of the heads had some significant wear damage and the valves were not opening for one cylinder. They showed my that when the engine was last rebuilt 30 years ago, not by me ;o), certain things had not been reassemble correctly causing the extra wear. They worked with me to get my spare heads cleaned up and get all of the correct replacement parts which took a bit of time, some came from Germany. They took great care of my car and kept it in the garage on bad weather days. The car now runs better than it has in decades. It has a tight shifting pattern like when it was new and the engine has that classic Porsche purr when it runs, no more backfires. They are now my Porsche mechanics of choice. I plan to take my other cars there too.

DIAGNOSTIC GURUs !! After going to Ourisman Mazda (just across the street) and told that I needed a new transmission ($4700) I called first and explained my car issue Keith told me to bring in the car so that they could take a look at it. I got their thinking I could use my car care insurance to take care of the costs but unfortunately it was to new and I didnt have the money to pay for it. Keith helped me right away and assisted me in getting financing to get my car fixed. Not only that I didnt need a new transmission what a relief !! Keith explained to me that my transmission was in good order and that it was an electrical issue. They replaced my transmission control module to see what codes the computer generated and found out that it was the turbine sensor that was bad and replaced it costing me far less than what they told me at Ourisman Mazda. The mechanics at AAMCO Transmission & Total car know cars and are very customer service oriented. I recommend that if youve been told that you need a new transmission you take it to AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car care first.

Misdiagnosed my 2007 sienna van costing me thousands of dollars. they told me my transmission had internal problems and they needed to rebuild it. I feel like they didnt do the full diagnostic that I paid for because they could not tell me why I was having shift problems. A real transmission shop will do line pressure road tests, and Im positive they did not. They told me a transmission dyno is not effective because they dont have one and made up lies about it. anyways, I put it in the shop and had a reman transmission from toyota put in only to have the same problems. Turns out, the only thing wrong was the throttle body(electronic throttle motor/throttle position sensor). These people are a joke and will tell you anything to only benefit themselves.EDIT: wanna play the no name game. The warranty was under Steven Hanahoe. Also one of you left a pack of maverick 100s, remember now? I was taking care of it for my gf and her dad.Now please tell me why you recommended rebuilding the trans when all it was a tps/throttle problem?
