Road Runner Sports on Rockville Pike is AMAZING! As packed as they were yesterday, Sunday, LaWanda gave us EXCELLENT customer service! It actually started with the manager and went up from there. This is our running/walking shoe store for the past 3 years, and would not think of going any where else! If you have not been to this location, I highly suggest and recommend you check them out! They are so good and so attentive to the customers needs!

Great service and great selection of sneakers, running apparel and gear. I love getting custom inserts for my sneakers. They keep me running well and keep me from injury. The rewards program pays for itself in very little time. I would suggest applying on your first visit.

I shopped there on Oct 21, 2021, at 4:30 pm. The salesperson who helped me couldn’t have been more courteous, professional, and skilled; he clearly knew what he was talking about. Beautiful shop and selection but the bells and whistles are worthless if you have shoe fitters who don’t know what they are doing.Lovely person helping us but he knew very little. After presenting us with 7 pairs of shoes, giving little guidance as to why we should choose one over the other, we walked out and went to another running store where we were fitted by an expert.

Weve been a satisfied VIP family for a long time. My most recent experience in store was superb. Andrea was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, ensuring that I found the right shoes and fit personalized for me. She even placed an online order so that I could get the color that I wanted. Very rare to get this level of service!

I was referred to Road Runner sports by a friend. After 8 months, I finally made it in today. The customer service was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. I live in DC so I called to find out if I could do the fitting. Nicole was very nice assured me I would be able to do just that. As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted. Lawanda came up to me and let me know someone would be with me. The salesperson Andrea was great! She carefully explained everything so clear and walked me through the entire process. She brought out over 5 pairs of shoes just to make sure I could feel the differences in the shoes, which I actually did. Andrea was polite, easy to understand and had a great sense of humor. I walked out of there with my feet feeling like I was walking on a mattress. I live in DC and I will be driving out there just to experience the excellent customer service and of course to buy more shoes. The vibe in the store is so calm and positive. My husband and I went with the intention of returning my ASIC’s (been wearing them for 25 years+). This was the first time I had a real problem with them.From the time we walked in, EVERYONE was beyond courteous and professional. They offered a complimentary foot exam and took their time with us. I ended up with Brooks after years of wearing ASIC’s, walked out with two pairs. I have been a VIP member for close to 20 years, I believe. This was my first time going in a store. I highly recommend it!

They use tech to tell me what shoes I need, I have no idea how accurate their assessment is or if just having hot molded inserts in my shoes just makes them feel good at time of purchase. That info just isn’t provided in store. But I like the shoes I got.

The staff at Road Runner absolutely amazing and takes the time to make sure they’re finding you the right shoe. We went in for my child’s shoe who pronates and they were able to find us the right stability shoe that was comfortable and worked for them. The assessment told me a few new things about my stride and shoe fit that I didn’t know and confirmed a few things I suspected. First-time visit to RRS in Rockville and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes with a pair of sweet new ASICS that fit perfectly. Hamad helped me try on several different stability running shoes with varying degrees of cushioning. I was able to “test drive” each pair with a jog around the spacious store and landed on the Kayanos. Amazing service at this store, fair prices, and a terrific selection. I will definitely be back here!

I love the store because they analyze your foot and your walking or running stance and tell you exactly what size and what style and brand fit best for your foot. I realized that I was buying my sneakers too big and too narrow. The store was a great find for me. Everyone is so knowledgeable !!

Andi really helped me out! I had gotten the same kind of shoes I usually did but was still having shin splints on one side. Then I got custom fit sole inserts a little while later. Still had issues. Andi did an assessment and identified that I needed a more supportive shoe and that my inserts weren’t done correctly. She re-did them, took my old pair of shoes, and gave me my new ones (even though they were outside the 90 day window) and I even got a little refund! Looking forward to a better fit and less pain. Service was above and beyond my expectations. I was recommended by my physical therapist to get inserts to help heal my bone spur. The prices were way better than medical inserts through my insurance. I arrived and was happy to see that the staff were spray cleaning the seats after each customer. Andrea met with me and was fantastic with assisting all of my needs with a quick and fun, comprehensive foot exam. Their technology is beyond anything I had experienced before. She was very helpful with explaining their services and products and didnt try to sell me things that I didnt want. She even helped me to find the cheapest options, including tips outside of the store. I highly recommend their friendly staff and store!

Love this place. Everyone is so nice and the shoe selection is just right- options but not too overwhelming. If you’re a member you get a ton of perks and cash back so that makes it worth it and less pricey in the long run! Also they do have a treadmill in house as well as a shoe insert molding machine which definitely helps. I think my associates name was Dani- she was super nice and helpful even while I had a phone call (which was very unlike me and I felt bad about) but she was patient and quick in getting me in and out on a busy day!! Some of the staff try their best to be super helpful and patient. But I could feel that some staff were not too pleased on the number of exchanges I had on my first pair of shoes. Trust me I was not thrilled either. It takes time and money to come into the store every time. I ended up with a pair of shoes that were okay. I still have some pain from wearing them but Ill live. I felt a little irritated last time I walked in looking for a second pair of shoes. I felt like I was being shooed out and was told that I should make an appointment for another day. All in all, most of the staff are very nice and helpful. However you have weird feet like me, the in store selection is a little sparse if youre are the kind of person who likes to try shoes on before buying them.

I have been coming here for my running shoes for many years. Always happy with the experience and help the staff had given me. Now that my kids are old enough, Ive been bringing them here to get their shoes. It is important to get fitted correctly for shoes that fit well if you are a runner or on your feet for long periods of time.

Made an investment in my feet today thanks to some gentle persistent pushing from friends. I had a wonderful experience with my rep Brandon. They took measurements on cool machines, watched me walk to see how my feet move, and made me custom insoles! Got my first pair of hoka!

I went to Road Runner Sports in Rockville as a first-time customer on July 4 and really enjoyed the experience. The employee who helped me was named Hamad and he did an excellent job helping me select the right shoe. Ive already used the shoes that I bought and they fit/feel great.Update: I returned to the Rockville store to find a pair of water-proof shoes. The only in-store pair of shoes was uncomfortable, so one of the employees (Leslie) helped me choose a pair online that matched what I wanted in terms of functionality and comfort. She explained that, as a VIP rewards member, I can exchange the shoes within 90 days of purchase if they are not a good fit. Im looking forward to trying my new shoes!

Road Runner Sports is a wonderful place to understand the positioning of your feet and body. They do scans of your feet to understand how you hold your body.. The staff is absolutely wonderful and they take their time teaching you about your feet and getting you fitted. Kevin helped me with getting comfortable shoes that helped my arch and positioning of my body. If you have body pain it maybe just a simple shoe fitting to help you realign your body.

This was my first time shopping at Road Runner Sports at the Rockville Pike, Md location. I was greeted by a salesperson, Dani, who explained that they measure and do an imaging of your feet to guide you on the type and style of shoes that would be appropriate for your feet. Initially, I was impatient and just wanted to look at the selection of mens running shoes, but after doing so, Dani came over and we did measure and image my feet. She then brought out a few different running shoes and she explained which ones were best for my needs. In the end, I bought a pair of shoes that I liked best, and felt good that they were also best for my feet. Dani was friendly, helpful, and patient, and based on my first experience there I will definitely come back to Road Runner Sports when I need new running shoes.

Best FIRST time experience ever! Im new to running, going to train for a half-marathon in FEB 2022. Im a 5 sport athlete (high school/college) and currently 45 y/o. Gear is important bc Ive had 4 knee surgeries. So I cant risk an injury. Roadrunner & Nicole (( were exactly what I needed. I was tested, fitted and hooked up with all I needed...shoes, insoles, socks! The staff was also nice and helpful. The next day I had my 1st run and it was amazing! My BROOKS were worth EVERY PENNY!

Good store and dont mean to be critical, but this happened the other day and really turned me off: I was shown two pairs of shoes and told they were both $130. I couldnt decide so I left and then I checked on-line and one of them was listed at your site as on sale for $89. I would have bought that pair on the spot. Maybe an innocent mistake, but this shouldnt happen as you lost a sale (I bought elsewhere), and probably future business also. Suggest being up front in the store (and aligned with website) with pricing and informing customers about sale prices.

Great experience from the moment we walked in. Nicole greeted us and told us there would be a wait but she could absolutely get us in. She explained the process and how long it would take. She didn’t try to send us away or make us feel that we weren’t welcome because we didn’t make an appointment (like another area store I won’t name).We waited and were helped by La Wanda who was extremely knowledgeable and fun. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun buying running shoes! 10/10 would recommend.

Always a hassle to come here. Came in to ask if they had a certain color of the shoe I wanted - was told I needed to check in and wait in line. Why would I wait in an hour long line when I just have a simple questions about a product? Also curious as to what qualifications employees have because when I came in with a friend the employee looked at her walk from the bench to the wall and said “Yeah you need high stability shoes” how did she come to that conclusion during such a short walk? No other assessment was done to her foot besides this short walk - no treadmill walk or sole creation - which we later found out was a service offered to other customers. In my several times coming here I’ve found the employees to less then friendly and I feel like I am treated as if the employee is doing me a favor - makes me feel inferior and I will not be returning to this location. Will admit the membership is amazing and I will continue to shop here - but I will have to do so online and refrain from coming to the store.

This was the fourth attempt at purchasing shoes. The the other times I entered the store and there were two other associates with customers which was fine. The problem is that no one greets and then other customers enter the store after you and then get service before you. Happened every time including this one. I won’t be returning.

I came in not long before the store closed today and had a very pleasant experience with Andrea. I explained what I wanted out of the shoe I needed and then she had me do a foot test. The test analyzed my individual feet and determined I have a higher arch in one foot than the other. She also watched how I work to determine if my ankles needed additional support due to rolling. We determined it was best to have custom orthotics made which took less than 10 minutes. After that she brought out a few different pots of she’s she felt would be best for what I wanted out of the shoe. All were great and we ultimately narrowed down the winning pair. She did not make me feel rushed at all even though the store was closing. When I finally walked out I realized the store had been closed for 10 minutes. The customer service Andrea gave was amazing and I love my new shoes! Thanks again! I’d recommend this store to anyone looking for a pro in finding you the perfect pair of shoes.

First time going to RR after a friend’s recommendation and they were great. I’ve suffered from horrible flat feet and bad ankles since I was a child. They have a methodical system and they take their time analyzing how you walk and what shoes really are best for you. I went on a Wednesday thinking they would be slow but now when I got there, there was a little bit of a wait list but I didn’t mind. I worked with Terrel who explained to me they were short of staff but he was absolutely trying his best taking care of two customers at a time but never making us feel rushed or giving one more attention then the other. Terrel listened to my pain points and made recommendations based on what I was feeling and what he could see. I will 100% go back there and specifically look for Terrel.My only suggestion is, it’s not abundantly clear when you walk in the first time that you should add your name to wait list at the check-out counter if they are busy. So if there’s away to remedy that…this location would be golden

Went in without an appointment for their person to person fitting for some shoes and inserts. I did have to wait a couple minutes due to no appointment but no problem. Andrea helped me out and was very informative on helping me with recommendations and explaining their fitting process. After getting set up with their custom inserts and trying on shoes I was able to find a pair of shoes that helped relieve pain I was having from my old shoes. Andrea was great and will definitely be coming back with my family.

If you need workout or running shoes this is the place to go! In under 30 minutes the staff can make you custom insoles for your needs. Andrea, the store manager, worked with me to find the perfect shoe! Plus the store has lots of other accessories or clothing for working out or running. I wish I had gone here a long time ago. This was my first trip to Road Runner. I went to the Rockville Pike location. I went to a different athletic shoe store last week but couldn’t find anything. Road Runner has a great selection and their process to fit/evaluate your feet is second to none.Andrea was extremely helpful and patient. She found me two amazing pairs of walking shoes that fit great. My biggest problem was deciding which pair to buy. I will definitely return. Road Runner is now my new go to place for athletic shoes. So glad I stopped by.

Awful place. Entire team is unorganized and incapable of helping customers. Be prepared to wait a long time if want any help. Went in on Monday for some custom insoles and a pair of sneakers. I’ve been there before so I knew to ask for the check in wait list. First, the guy didn’t know where the wait list was. But when he found it, told me it should only be 5-10 min. 45 mins later.. and after watching 5 other customers who walked in after me get helped, I’ve had enough. There were other customers who were there before me that also were not getting the right attention. All I saw was a number of slow walking employees who simply did not look like they wanted to be there not help anyone.Drove over to Georgetown Running company and saw a person named Andrew. He was awesome and knew his stuff. Assessed me on the spot and got me best shoe that actually took away the pain I had in my heel. WITHOUT the custom insole! and even with the drive i was home in less time. I would not be back to this Road Runner store. and I am so glad there is a new insole running store coming to us soon. This place will not have a chance...

I don’t always feel comfortable in stores like this because I’m not a runner and just work out more casually but Andrea was really helpful in finding shoes that made sense for me and in helping me get the most out of my membership and made sure I didn’t feel out of place or anything. She was really helpful and positive the whole time. Def recommend coming here in the late afternoon if you come on a weekend though. Apparently it had been swamped earlier with an hour wait but I went around 4 and they were able to help me right away.

I had a great experience at this store. I am not an athlete but needed help finding a shoe that gave me support for my fallen arch and fix the pronation in both ankles. My son and I had a great experience at Road Runner in Rockville last week. His feet had grown more than I could believe and he needed his first pair of really solid running shoes. Andi (Andrea) helped us out and made the experience really pleasant and super easy. He could try a few brands, run around the store, and - of course - membership is awesome so we knew there was no risk in giving his favorite pair a try. Theyre also doing a good job with COVID precautions - its worth the in-person visit!

I had an absolute amazing experience here with Nicole! She was empathetic, knowledgeable, and super friendly! I am beginning my fitness journey and she was so encouraging and helped me find the perfect shoe for me (turns out Im a Hoka girl!) Also, the technology they used to measure my walking stride was super neat! I recommend this to ABSOLUTELY anyone trying to find a good, sturdy pair of shoes that will last! Lawanda was friendly and very helpful. She’s very knowledgeable about the shoes and the equipment RoadRunner Sports used to help ensure you get the right fit, exactly what you hope from someone trying to make sure you have the right pair of the only equipment you need as a runner. She was able to show me the difference in my already low arches and the custom orthotics RoadRunner Sports makes were great. There’s no obligation to buy but once I found the right shoe of the 4 choices Lawanda got me, I tried them with and without the custom inserts and there was no doubt I wanted them. The entire process was enjoyable and I can’t imagine shopping for a new running shoe anywhere else.
