Great place! Related to pandemic, but cant wait till they get more supply! :)
Sells items at literal scalper prices. Was selling a Pokemon Celebrations tin that MSRPs at $8.99 for $25. I could understand a markup of a few bucks, its tough out there for local game shops when people can just buy everything online. But to literally sell items at scalper pricing and justify it by saying well thats what theyre selling for online, yeah, by scalpers. Cant support a business that is so willing to screw over their customers. Wont return.
Wish they had more board games. Most of what they had you could find at your local Walmart/ Target.
Does anyone know if this place has loose yugioh cards you can just look through? this is urgent cause i need to decide if i’m going tomorrow or i can’t go at all
It was fine, nothing wrong... Sales staff was helpful and personable. An oasis in a gaming desert.
I came here to sell Pokémon cards about a month ago and this place NEVER takes any cards that aren’t in English. Cards are overpriced and if you don’t have English cards they won’t buy. Store was dirty overall pretty bad experience.
The atmosphere was friendly and lively. A larger selection of board games than nearby big box retailers, but unfortunately a very limited selection of miniatures for painting, puzzles, and fantasy tabletop RPGs than I was hoping.
Im pretty new to magic the gathering and Jack (jake?) was extremely knowledgeable! The store itself is pretty awesome with tons of supplies and decks.
Really excellent selection of board games, card games, RPGs, and miniatures. Really helpful and friendly staff.
Stopped by yesterday and it was a great experience! All my questions were answered and I bought 5 packs that I have been having a hard time finding. I don’t normally trust loose packs but I pulled a secret rare. Great shop, give it a try!
Went here for Pokemon cards with my partner and the shelves were so neat, very clean store. There was a good selection of a variety of hobbies and games. The store owner (or staff member) was helpful. Id come back again.
Packs are little more expensive here than other local shops.
Okay Ive been here a total of four times now and have had a 1/4 record for good visits. The one time I went in to buy a Yu-Gi-Oh structure deck was the one time I had an ok experience. Who I assume is the owner, is the cause of this bad review and presumably all the others on here. He comes off as very impolite and bothered. Youll ask him about stock and hell tell you they dont have anything without any indication of future restocks or alternatives, rudely. Youll ask about a price and hell tell you as if he has better things to do than sell his merchandise. I have unfortunately run into him all 4 of my visits to the store and have not had a positive experience yet interacting with him. Ive had my gf on most of these visits and she has refused to buy from there because of the owners demeanor.
They’re only good if you’re a magic player, they don’t seem to like yugioh players at all; and to top it off lied about not having the new yugioh booster set when they have the sealed product in the bloody store.
I’m a returning Yu-Gi-Oh player and I’ve been this too location twice and to be honest I hate going here cause I feel like I don’t want to come back here cause there’s one old guy I don’t know if he’s the owner but I hate dealing with him cause he’s always rushing me and he doesn’t care about his customers and I’m looking for a shop for local tournaments but due to this service from this guy i don’t want to come back. I’m only giving this place one star cause the lady who was there I don’t know if she’s was his wife but she was super nice and well informed with Yu-Gi-Oh information I would only come back to deal with her and not the old guy.
Loved everything about the store and the selection! Absolutely love the staff as well, Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer, Pokemon TCG or Yu-gi-oh TCG they got it all! 5/5
Great for Pokémon TCG!
I love coming here. I asked about a product and they explained it to me so well. Just a great place for you to buy and support. Will be coming back soon
Great inventory, helpful staff, fair prices. Great selection of pokemon sets, and saw some old ones I havent been able to find in a long time! Will be coming back soon.
Good local game shop. I go there for GW games and they stay pretty well stocked.
They have 40k models and paints. A mid sized gaming area. A bored game sections that a bit chaotic. Staff is happy full and friendly
I havent been there in a while, especially due to covid, but every Yu-Gi-Oh duel that I attended there was a very fun experience. The entry fee was affordable and the employees are nice and very talkative. as soon as covid has died down a little bit I will be returning.
Great store their selection of games is awesome and the atmosphere is welcoming
Weird to be in gamer space during covid, but they are open for business. Very kind owner; nice to chat with a real person. Definitely heavy on DnD, but a decent selection of other tabletop games on hand.
Wonderful and inviting. Love going here to check out any new games, experience an MTG pre-release or just browsing.
One of the larger and better stocked game stores in the area, Dream Wizards is nestled on Parklawn with reasonable parking (more around back) and a wide selection of card packs, miniatures, RPGs, and board-games. Due to COVID theyve reduced events markedly but are still open for normal hours. We have been going for years and years and enjoy interacting with the staff and checking out the new products. The new shelving has really improved the look of the store and I hope they continue in this vein.
I havent been to this place for over 2 years, but theres this guy named Doug that works here, hes super super helpful. So nice, he made you feel welcomed. Its a cool store. Great vibe. Ill most definitely be coming back.
An ok selection SOMETIMES. The old man who is always there I’m guessing he is the owner, is SO rude. It makes me not want to buy anything from him. He’s money hungry and does not care about his customers, especially if you’re looking for Pokémon. He gets annoyed so easily.
Lots of dice and minis 👍
Good local shop friendly staff.
My local game store. Love this place.
One of the last true gaming places of its kind. Not only do they sell a multitude of board, tabletop and card games, they also have fun game nights for all ages. My 18 year old loves it. I hope it never closes.
Tucked away in strip mall on a steep incline, worth seeking out. All kinds of card games and on several nights a week they host game nights. My teenage son always wanted to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons. For a $5 table fee, he was able to join a Level 1 game and had the best time. Very happy to find a place that he can socialize in a safe environment.
One of my favorite places to get board games and card games.
An excellent selection of cards, board games and tabletop books. The staff is helpful and will even hold items for you on request. Parkings a bit crazy, but just park around back and youll be fine.
Good atmosphere and one of the few tabletop game stores in the area, but their game selection isnt as good as I was hoping. Great place to go and play if you are interested in weekly sessions of your favorite tabletop. The dungeons and dragons meetups there have got lots of participants, which is excellent.
Wonderful game shop with great staff
Very open and understanding staff. Helped me find the products I was looking for, and were patient and informative about the Star Wars miniatures I was hoping to use in an RPG campaign. Could not recommend more!
Very rude overprice and triable parking
Excellent customer service! I was greeted, asked what kind of games I play, engaged by z very knowledgeable young lady, and thanked for my purchase! Best game store experience ever!
Your standard game and card store with a decent community. No complaints!
Went in to buy some Pokemon singles. Shop itself wasnt bad. Didnt have a huge selection to choose from and they were a bit over priced, but the worst part was the employee staring at me the entire time while I looked through cards. He was really rude and creepy there were a bunch I was interested in, but didnt want to give them my business after being treated like a common thief. Dont spend your money here. Worst card store Ive been to in this area.
Vast selection of Board games. Friendly staff are very knowledgeable. Lots of fun events!
Overall, its a good store with a spacious gaming area. I have actually found the staff quite pleasant to deal with for the most part. Store has really improved a lot in the last couple years. Parking situation notwithstanding (blame Enterprise for this) I think the location is pretty convenient overall.
My family and I participate as often as we can in Pokemon pre-release tournaments and booster drafts. Its a nice way to spend time together as a family. The atmosphere is friendly and overall very welcoming. The staff is very helpful and seem to genuinely enjoy teaching people how to play. Their calendar lists a lot of other weekly games and events, but my family focuses mostly on Pokemon.
There is a good selection here. The place seems to cater less to the casual gamer and more to the hardened and grizzled veterans in the space. Whether its Magic The Gathering, tabletop roleplaying or board games, Dream wizards has what youre looking for. Other than kickstarters, I have yet to not find a particular item I was hunting down. Please spend money at your Friendly Local Gaming Shop!
I was there for the board games. They had a wonderfully large selection even more than what their website listed. Will definitely return when looking to pick up games and want an in person experience!
I was there with my family and the owner helped us and she was great. She helped us with the million questions we ask her never once rushed us and took the time to go into detail on everything we asked her about . The prices were good and the place was packed with happy gamers . I would recommend you check them out
Good selection and ample room for playing games. We attended for a Friday night event and had a great time. Outside drinks and snacks arent allowed, but there are options available for purchase.
Nice wide selection, decent prices, good layout. Service is a little cool at first. No one spoke to me for my first 20 minutes as I looked around, amd I was the only customer in the store. But, they were happy to answer questions and chat as I checked out.
They need a deep cleaning and deodorizing. But nice and spacious.
Love this place! Old enough to remember their old location. A great place to get magic the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, any other board game you can think of
This place is amazing, been open since I was young and continues to never disappoint
Super chill. Have been going here off and on since it first opened. Great selection of games and a large area for groups to get together and play.
Sunday is the day for yugioh singles expert
The store was full of people gaming and having fun. Several types of games were being played, and everyonevseemed to be having fun.
Overall, Dream Wizards is a pretty good place to go. Great events, some great products. Like others said, most of the employees are good. The customers that go to events can be more useful though- they seem to know more about the game. It does smell a little funky, but you can get used to it. The bad part is they normally start events late, they sometimes dont respond to phone calls, and they take a while to update the calendar on their website. So its okay, but it you want to go to an event you totally should go.
Big shop for card/board games. pokemon: some recent boxes, good variety of booster packs, decent singles collection, reasonable prices. staff is nice. bathroom available. parking lot kinda sucks
Great selection of games and huge space. The staff though didnt seem very accommodating to fill me in on what they had to offer for regular game play and events. The place was also a little musty smelling. It made me want to keep looking for another gaming store to call home.
Great Place. Staff was attentive and gave me all the info i needed if i wanted to play in yugioh tournaments. Plus one of the very few retailers for card shops located within walking distance of the metro and they have the sleeves i wanted. Definitely coming back here. Dont listen to the salty reviews
Its not fancy looking but that wasnt the point. They have a bunch of indie board games and materials for deck based and tabletop rpgs. We were happy with the board game selection and the staff were knowlegeable and kind.
Best game store visit ever!!!! Tabletop, not video. ;) Got some sweet new dice!
Need to update their hours they close at 6pm and that is not clear at all- twice Ive driven 45 minutes here and theyre hours have not changed.
Spacious, and the staff seem to know what’s what. The shelves are a little bare given the size of the place, but it’s hard finding enough gamers to fill the place to play, let alone sell diverse goods too! Also the awkward location in a crazy hilly lot may cost them less to lease but I wonder if it won’t cost them business in the end.I wish them all the best, there are far too few FLGSs in the area as is!
The store was run down and owner was incredibly rude
Great store. Employees are helpful. Lots of events
Been going to the shop for a couple of years service is great and community is good yugioh magic, pokemon are all there
This is a really great store. We met here for a tournament for the first time, and the store was very generous with their time and with the prize support. The staff was very helpful and was very easy to work with. They also carry a huge selection of games, so when I was looking for a specific game, they actually had it in stock. This is a great store and I would highly recommend it to anybody.
We were hesitant to stop by Dream Wizards due to all the negative reviews, but went anyway and had a great experience! The store isnt huge, but they still seemed to have a decent selection of games. The salesperson we dealt with was fantastic. We went in to buy some Magic cards without having any previous experience with the game. The salesperson was really friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable. He gave us a great explanation of our deck options and helped us buy the best deck for what we needed. Also, we later noticed that Dream Wizards charged less for the Magic duel deck that we purchased than the current price on Amazon. The store is a bit run-down and smells a little funny if you care about that sort of thing. But overall, we had a great experience at Dream Wizards and would definitely go back!
Good store with wide selection. Sales are welcoming and knowledgable.
Bought some Warhammer 40k data cards. Didnt really know what they were. Couldnt return them, something about not being about to send them back to games workshop? Also the place smells like sweat or mold i couldnt tell, plug in air fresheners arent terribly expensive nowadays. Will be back to buy some 40k models after i get a chance to read more of the books and lore.
Great selection of games, and lots of tables for playing them too, at no charge! Great folks working there, too, with really good knowledge of games.
One of the few cards and games shops in the area and the only in a large area that will host tournaments and has a large play-space. Unfortunately the lack of competitors has seen this shops customer service go downhill (its quite bad now), while prices have been increased because there are no alternatives, and overuse of their play-space and shop has things now literally falling of the walls. Also, do not use their restroom, it is worse than most bars and truck-stops.This is the worst cards and games shop I have ever been to or played at and there is no attempt to soften this with reasonable pricing. If you have an alternative activity or shop to go to, I suggest you go there instead.
Great place for all your table top needs.
Good customer service and a friendly environment. The place has been refurbished and under new management since I last went(a few years ago) and its a night and day improvement.
They wete uninformative and hostile. Tue human clamef ive only been there five timed and he screamed at me bc i can not browse the comics how i prefer
Friendly staff knowledgeable in the games they offer. Lots of events with prizes. Players are friendly and good start for new, seasoned, or returning players.
Great store and great staff. Always have what I need!
Great Store, Excellent Customer Service. Not many stores left like it, its a gem. 5 Stars!!!
For the summer I went to Dream Wizards to play Dungeons and Dragons every Wednesday. The store is great, spacious and clean. The employees there are kind, attentive and professional.
Great store. Had items that others did not. Very friendly staff.
Best place in the Montgomery county for playing MTG tournaments and other card games as well. They have the most space and tables and a large collection of stuff.
I came here not knowing really anything about what to expect, and what I got was a person working the front who could not care less about the customer. I had never played before, I asked some basic questions, and the person working the counter was standoffish even when I mentioned that I might want to buy a full deck to play that night! There were no binders of cards out, and when I asked to see some I was told that they dont bring out the binders and I had to ask them whether they had it. Obviously, the first two requests I had were met with instant No. Overall I felt like I was being condescended to for even asking. Left immediately and went all the way down to Falls Church and had an amazing time with the friendly staff at Victory Comics.
Fantastic! Laurel the owner very friendly, pleasant and nice person with lots of knowledge about the area.
Solid selection and knowledgeable staff. Huge table top area for gamers.
I think the place is great. The pricing is pretty good. Vanguard event are sometimes expensive-ish, other than that, its fine to me.
Love this place magic the gathering Pokemon warhammer and much more best place to go
The staff here are like family and the Dragon Ball Super TCG community we have at DW is fantastic. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we look forward to coming every week!
Have a great variety for all sorts of different gaming needs. Dungeons & Dragons, board games, magic cards, Warhammer, and so on.
Im done bothering with this place. Came in to trade some EDH staples from a deck Im pulling apart to put towards a new one. Was told that theyre not taking trades at the moment. What the hell? The last time I needed something (a playset of snapcasters and a few fetches; roughly $500 worth of singles), I called in to see if the cards were available before driving 20 minutes to the store. Was told that I could come in and see for myself. This may be the closest LGS to me, but this is the last time Ill be coming here.
Charges for tax on tournament entry fees, and makes top cut of events best of 1. Sleazy with no competitive integrity.
Very nice place for Yu Gi Oh players! I Enjoy my time there Every Sunday 💪🏼 XD
Great place with plenty of tables for miniatures gaming. Also has a wide community for games
Good for models and painting
Great place to hang out a play some games you love
Great store, smells funky sometimes but otherwise a great place for MTG and other games, the community is the really great part and why I keep going. I have never had a bad time with the staff.
Staff members are always polite and helpful. Great place to play
