I bought a flute mast at this store and was charged $21.15. I never got the mask, but never got a refund. I have called Music and Arts twice and sent them an email requesting a refund but I still cannot get refunded. They never responded to my email.
Larry was very helpful and he found violin teacher. In general store very organized.
Ordered a Kawai digital piano here in March and was told the piano would be delivered in May. Called the customer service several times in June and July and was told there would be additional delay and in early August, we were told the order was cancelled. Nobody contacted us when the order was cancelled. If we had not called, we would have not known that. The store said there is a new model and promised it would be delivered in 2-3 weeks so I placed a new order. We called them today to check the status but were told we need to wait another 2 months. We were also told there is nothing they can do and there is no manager that can address the issue. Very disappointed with the business.
I got excellent advice and service about restringing my guitar. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and the job was done quickly and was ready on time.
I’m adult that is learning piano — Kathy is such a GREAT piano teacher. Knowledgeable, extremely nice, explains everything (and I need it, knew next to nothing), and teach much more then playing the piano- she explains about composers, interesting facts, music composing. I enjoy her classes a lot. Class goes by so fast. I am always learning something new- piano and music in general. I will listen to music differently now (also during movies;)). She feels how you need to be teached. Lots of experience
This store is FANTASTIC, excellent customer service received by Daniel, Brett, and Morgan! They helped me find everything I needed to get my ukulele and all its necessary accessories. Also, very impressive selection of books-- ready to play Christmas songs for the family this year :)

The in-store staff is good. Responsive and knowledgeable. But, do not enter into any contracts that involve monthly payments. Their accounting and posting are terrible and you end up spending time helping them do their own bookkeeping. We were on a monthly rental and went into upgrade. At the store, we paid our current monthly payment. The person at the store, Jessie, processed the payment but mentioned that her point-of-sale system couldnt generate a receipt. But, no problem. The payment was reflected on our credit card statement. We started getting letters about that missed payment. We even went back to the store, in person, and Jessie remembered the earlier scenario and she was kind enough to telephone their accounting department, in our presence, and tell them we were all paid up.But, more letters came. Then they referred us to a Collections agency (this was a $37 payment). We called their customer service and they gave us a separate number to speak with their accounting department. We were sternly told to email them proof of payment, which we did immediately. No word back. To this day. No apology. No confirmation that they reversed their erroneous credit reporting.Just abysmal.
Although this is a chain, it is a welcoming and reliable music store. They have an excellent rental/rent to own program for school band students. The staff is generally knowledgeable and always helpful and friendly. They have a nice selection of sheet music and books for different instruments. If this review was helpful, please like.
Elizabeth was wonderful, she helped my daughter with trading her 1/4 size cello for a 1/2 cello. She went as far as finding a song in a book my knew, to help her practice and get used to the new cello. She spent a fair amount of time with my daughter, and then afterwords helped my daughter with a bass guitar and helped her try one out. After we decided to purchase one, she helped us find the right amp and cord for our needs. The store staff has always been pleasant, and is why we decided to go to that store again. However Elizabeth went above and beyond expectations and when we left there was a smile on my daughters face.

This M&A hosted an expo to try out lots of brands of instruments, and the team who helped and answered all my questions from Music & Arts were amazing! Ive ordered through them online, and called to ask a couple quick follow-up questions and they were super professional and helpful!
Every phone call I had with the store and every visit inside the store was customer service centered. The staff is knowledgeable and incredibly helpful, will definitely return to this location in the future!
I have been taking lessons here for almost a year. My teacher is great and I’ve learned a lot but I cannot believe how badly their billing is run. My teacher frequently misses lessons so over the course of the year there have been about 15 times I’ve not had a lesson I was scheduled for. I was still charged for all of these lessons and now they owe me over $600 that I paid for lessons I never had. I’ve talked to people in the store multiple times and they’ve said they’re working on it, but it’s been nearly a month. I’ve written to their corporate help desk and my email was ignored. Honestly I don’t know what else to do at this point besides maybe legal action? Anyway, while I really like my teacher, I would advise anyone else to avoid this place like the plague because of their super shady billing practices

Music & Arts - Rockville has been our go-to music store for over 10 years - for lessons, accessories, and for finding those music books. Do not rent if a beginner. They offer no credit and no refund so your money is gone if you decide to quit.
