The name Automotive Excellence is quite fitting for this shop, Im giving it 5 stars! I needed a service on my 2017 Mazda 6 and discovered that the Mazda dealership is no longer in Santa Rosa. I purchased my car new so the dealership was the only place I felt comfortable bringing my car for service and repair - until now. I was concerned about going to a non-dealership but decided to take a chance at Automotive Excellence given so many good reviews, which is why Im happy to leave this review. I have to say, they did an excellent job! Not only was Dave (the owner) super friendly, they really took care of my car - they serviced it, aligned my new tires (without extra charge), cleaned it inside and out (it was so nice), and to top it off - they left candy for me on my dash (how cute is that!). Believe it or not, it didnt end there - when I went to pick up my car, Dave explained to me that my next service was the expensive 60k mile service, and given the cost of that service, he said there were a couple of things that we could do sooner so that I didnt have to absorb such a large cost all at once. At this point, I knew that I was working with not only a professional, but also a human being that understands not everyone is in the same financial status, especially during this pandemic. I will definitely be bringing my car back to Dave at Automotive Excellence, as well as my other cars. If you have any concerns or hesitations about bringing your car to a non-dealership for service or repair, this is the place to go. Many thanks to Dave and his team at Automotive Excellence!

Check engine light showed I needed to replace my thermostat! Got a quick appt and then even that appt was bumped to the day before and then the work took way less time than expected. Cherry on top is that they have courtesy vehicles for use while yours is being repaired. Mechanics are efficient and Darlene in the front is great. Great experience all around, thank you

I been to many mechanic shops, but never as professional and as awesome as Automotive Excellence. We came in for an oil change and we saw the great reviews it has received, and they are all true. Communication on the condition of your vehicle is great, they even take pictures of parts and tell you what you may need if any repairs need to be done. Customer service is by far the best I seen. Super friendly all around. I could not reccomend them enough and Im glad to say I will be coming back and will be a regular in this shop!

Im in Sacramento with a son at Sonoma State. My sons car wouldnt start, and not knowing the area, I found Auto Excellence through YELP reviews. I loved the service and communication we received! Dave is clearly an excellent mechanic and gave me way more information than I asked for, not in a way to upsell, but just information I didnt know about the car and what we should do to mitigate exacerbating the problem when we decided not to make the repair for a blown gasket in a 18-year-old car. I couldnt have asked for better customer service! I just wish Dave and crew were closer to Sacramento so I could make them my regular garage. Highly recommended!

Loved this place! Had my 30 thousand mile service and have to say they were great. I would have given 5 stars but was told after service that the cost would be more. . I prefer to be called and given the opportunity to approve any service over the estimated cost, not after. I will say though, they did NOT charge me the extra as there was just a mistake in the estimate. Again, I always want to be contacted before any extra fees are incurred. Otherwise, they send you an email with pictures of all services and filters that were changed. I will definitely go back.

Automotive Excellence says it all. I bought a car for my daughter and the engine light came on two days after buying it. They were referred to me by a friend and I can not express how pleased I was with their professionalism. They examined the car and repaired what was needed. I needed a cluch replacement. After they took it apart. Found a part that was very worn my fault for not bringing it in sooner. It was not a part that was made anymore and could not be found. Dave at Automotive Excellence had my original part rebuilt. Had my 1999 Suzuki running and me happy again. Dave kept me informed with every step of the way. My wife and I both own Toyotas and weve been getting them serviced at a local business here in town and were quite happy with our service we were getting until they serviced my wifes Camry transmission and after they performed a transmission service we noticed some issues with the transmission. I called the shop to discuss my concerns about the transmission and asked if I should bring it back to them so check it out or should I take it to a transmission shop and they said I should take it to a transmission shop they have an inspecting and see what the problem might be. So I did some research and checked out some reviews on automotive excellence and decided that might be the best place to have them take a look at my wifes Camry and find out what the problem was with the transmission and in the end we performed another transmission service a more complete one and that solve the problem, so I am very pleased with not only the professional service I received but I also decided that this shop is a more complete shop with better service days and hours then the shop I was going to and now my wife and I feel this should be the shop that we have service both of our Toyotas.

Taking my car to Automotive Excellence was by far the best experience Ive had with an automotive shop and with a long history of driving used cars, thats a big statement. Im new to the area and relied on reviews to make a decision on where to take my car and I couldnt be happier with my decision. I am impressed with their communication, sending text alerts as well as a link to the CARFAX report. The repair was completed faster than I expected and with multiple issues with my car, I was not pressured to fix them, instead respectfully communicated to and thats hard to find. The small touch of leaving candy in my car was icing on the cake; I will recommend them time and time again!

This place is a gem! You know those mom and pop shops that you hear about from back in the day...honest, genuine, good service....yep, thats this place. We had just moved here not long ago, and when my car turned on with a noise that made me cringe, my stomach dropped. The toughest part of moving is having to figure out which repair shops, and which maintenance service people to use and trust for those everyday inconveniences. I called around the area, and Darlene was so welcoming and helpful. I was scared that the dreadful noise was going to be a doozy. I wasnt quite sure if the noise was ok to drive a few miles to their shop or if I should hire a tow. Unexpectedly, she actually asked if I wanted someone to stop by to listen to it to make sure. ...How many places will do that!?!... My battery was also dead, so, Dave stopped by, jumped my car, and took a listen. Luckily the noise had gone away, but I drove my car over for them to look over and fix something unrelated, and I was again shocked with their service and honesty. Owning a Lexus, Im not accustomed to feeling relief when I see the ticket. Where, a 15 minute fix is billed for the entire hour. But Ill take it! LoL The cherry on the top of their already exemplary service was not having to figure out who I could get a ride with to drop me off at the shop when my car was ready. I know its just the first visit, but it really mattered, and I definitely know where to take our cars for service.

I brought my Jeep in because I was told I needed new front brakes and a new starter by my friend that works on cars. I had only had the Jeep for a week. One of the mechanics went over my whole vehicle and told me that I only needed a battery and that my brakes were good. They had me up and running in no time at all, and I left with more money in my pocket then I originally anticipated. I have brought other cars to this shop, and have always had a positive experience. I will continue to have my vehicles serviced at Automotive Excellence.

It’s rare that I give reviews but they deserve a good one. I have been a customer and big fan of Automotive Excellence for many years. Finding an honest mechanic that you can trust and charges fair prices is incredibly valuable. I’ve never experienced a more honest and reliable auto repair business than Automotive Excellence and I always refer them when people are looking for help. My most recent visit was stellar as usual. They handled the issue with my vehicle quickly and in a professional manner.

I went here for some general maintenance, prompted to go from a review i read on google. What sets this shop apart from others is a very simple concept called customer service. Its comparable to eating at a Chickfila vs. a McDonalds; they sell a comparable product, however you keep going back to Chickfila because of the welcomeness you recieve, the transparency, integrity, etc. It really sets itself apart from other shops because of that and for that reason i will give my business to them. I received a personalized thank-you note after having my truck serviced there, that is a big deal and is certainly an excellent impression if the first impression didnt get you already. All of the work done was well explained and made sense for anyone who may not be experts in vehicle knowledge. Overall a great experience

You guys get 10 stars from me! I was hearing a weird sound creaking sound from one of my tires upon parking. I was in the area and took it to a tire shop, they said to get it checked out right away. I went to this place because they’re the only ones open on Saturday, and the mechanic did a very thorough walkthrough of both of my rear tires and suspension components. They found nothing wrong and they didn’t charge me. Dave the owner is such a nice, funny guy and I would recommend anyone in the area with car troubles to take their vehicles here!

Not only did they have me up and running again within a day, but they are compassionate, polite, and have reasonable prices. Rudy gave me such amazing service! I called pulled over concerned about my kia soul making a sound on the bearings. I figured it was my bent wheel I know about. They got me in last minute on a Friday. ( Theyre closed on the weekends) did a diagnostic and came back quick with the results. The tow company took longer to arrive then it took them to get my diagnostic done by them! Turns out the noise I was hearing, was the breaks. Then Rusko explained my wheels and how everything was. Told me how much longer I have on everything. Didnt try to push sales on me at all. Quick, courteous, and professional. As someone who was traveling through I needed an auto mechanic on the fly, I am so glad to have found Automotive Excellence! If youre in a pinch go to them! My first visit was a transmission service on 10/5/19. Patrick, my shuttle driver was super nice, and polite. Im newer to RP, and after my first visit I knew this is my shop. Owners are friendly, and engaging in conversation, and I was treated as if Id been a long term customer. The service is excellent, the pricing terrific. Easy to find, lots of parking.

I brought my Toyota Prius because it was giving me the engine service required + red triangle of death lights and Dave the owner gave me great service. I had a feeling it had to do with the hybrid battery and had decided that if I had to replace the hybrid battery then I wouldnt because I already did once and thought to just get a new car. Dave read the code and it was the code to replace the hybrid battery. I felt really great coming to their shop because he first wanted to find out the problem and he didnt charge me for just reading the code. Then he respected my decision to not change the battery. Of-course since this all happened at the start of the covid19 it was a hassle for me to get rid of my car and buy a new one so I changed my mind and worked with Automotive Excellence to replace the hybrid battery. They gave me great customer service highly recommend it. I dont usually leave reviews but felt they really deserved one. :) Glad to come back if I ever need to.-Araceli, super happy customer

We were welcomed in and given a complete estimate on what was needed and it was complete explained.We were called about two additional services that needed attention and were given a fair and honest price for those services along with the everything else.I am very happy to have a beautifully running vehicle. Ive never been so pressured to give reviews by anywhere else.They didnt do bad work, but when I told them about the noise coming from my car, they told me it was a brake shim that came loose. Well, that didnt fix the problem at all.They gave me a loaner car which was great.They quoted me a pretty high price for breaks and rotors, and that was a turn off for me.My check engine light came back on pretty quickly, so I just took it elsewhere.Their prices are a little on the high side if you ask me.

Ive been taking my vehicles to Automotive Excellence for over 15 years now. The service is always excellent and at a fair price. Never had a problem with my cars thanks to them. They are very honest and provide a really good service. I highly recommend Automotive Excellence.

I am thrilled with the service I had last week at Automotive Excellence. During the time of Covid I didnt start my car for nearly 3 weeks. Unfortunately, during that time rodents made house and home under the hood. When I did turn on my car Fiat 500 Sport. I had numerous Error Codes, a chugging/shaking engine, which would not allow the car to go over 50mph. I reached out to many other shops, none were working during that time. Nor would they work on a fiat. Not a good time to have vehicle issues. I googled/youtubed thinking perhaps I could fix it myself...not yet knowing it was an electrical problem due to the rodents chewing away. After many nights of prayers, I saw an ad on facebook for an Ozone treatment by Automotive Excellence, it was then I decided to reach out to them. Welp, to add salt to the wound I am hearing impaired...unable to call into the shops. I tried facebook messenger late at night. Dave the owner was quick to answer, was quick to identify what he thought the problem was (Rodents were a common theme while staying home, distancing during this time). We arranged for me to bring my car in at a designated time to adhere to the guidelines. Dave also had a car ready for me (with plastic on the steering column and provided me with a mask to wear (one of their logo ts). Dave set up a system on his computer to text me updates. Not only was my car repaired and serviced with the Ozone therapy it was an incredibly reasonable and fair dollar amount for all. I would highly recommend Dave and his friendly team at Automotive Excellence, in fact I will be going back for service, tune-ups etc.

Automotive Excellence is great I would not go anywhere else to have my car repaired. In the past I would take my car elsewhere always feeling as if they were not truthful about repairs they said I needed. Automotive Excellence has never made me feel that way they have always explained why I need the repairs not treating me as if I was stupid. I would recommend Automotive Excellence and have recommended to others they are fantastic.

I have been getting my car serviced at Automotive Excellence since 1998. The experience has always been great, and, more importantly, my OLD hatchback continues to run great--still getting 40 mpg, which is about 4 mpg more than its supposed to get! (And yes, the prices are very reasonable.) In fact, when I bought my car in 2000, I picked a Honda just so I could remain an Automotive Excellence customer; no car is too big or too small for Mike and team. (I could tell you stories, but theyre all good.:-))

I first came to Automotive Excellence in March of 2003 through a referral from a co-worker and I am very glad I did! Since that time, I have had all of my routine maintenance and repairs done here and I have always been a satisfied customer. Since I am not knowledgeable about cars, the main reason I feel comfortable referring customers to Automotive Excellence is because I trust them and I know that they will not take advantage of me. A few times I was concerned that a repair might be costly and it turned out to be something simple and inexpensive. In the 12 years that I have been coming here, if something unexpected comes up with my aging car, they always fit me in, even if I dont have an appointment.Mike and his staff are great. Jon, the Service Manger, is very professional, courteous and patient. My Honda has over 220,000 miles on it and when I have to get another car, I plan to select one that I can have serviced by Automotive Excellence!

After having horrible experiences at the local Honda Dealers, Automotive Excellence is the ONLY place I will take my car. They have been servicing my car ever since I bought it (8 yrs ago) and I have NEVER had any issues with the work they have done. They are reliable, trustworthy, and THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! When my son started to drive, I encouraged him to buy a Honda so he would be able to go to Automotive Excellence as well. I learned a long time ago that a good and honest mechanic is worth his weight in gold. I have recommended them to all of my friends who drive cars that they work on.

We recently moved to Sonoma county and, after six years of frustrating dealer servicing of my Land Cruiser in San Francisco, I was determined to find an alternative to dealerships. And what a find! From booking an appointment to bringing it in and picking it back up, the experience was flawless: Knowledgeable front office, thorough explanations, phone updates on any concerns and on the progress of work, and no pressure for unnecessary work. The charges were fair, less than I expected, and far less than a dealership. They have quickly earned my confidence and loyalty. Finally, when I picked up the car, a surprise: it was washed--no small feat, since it was covered in red Arizona mud.

Took my Scion Xb here because it was overheating. They took the time to talk to me before I came in. Most places just want to make the appointment and get you in the door. These guys (Dave) tried to understand the issue before I came in. Once I arrived he thought theyd get it diagnosed in a 1/2 hour but asked for an hour authorization incase it could be fixed in that hour, they could just do it. They ended up fixing the same day in less than an hour and I was charged accordingly. Their customer service and follow-up service checking to see that the car was fixed is outstanding. I definitely would refer anyone here without hesitation.

Weve been taking our cars to Mike ever since I bought my little blue Civic in 1986. Since then, weve stuck with Honda and Toyota, in large part because we dont want to change to another repair shop. Weve always had excellent service and our cars run great. Weve all gotten a little grayer over the years, and the little blue Civic has long since been replaced (but we had it to 225,000 miles, thanks to Mike), but the service at Automotive Excellence has remained just that, excellent.

I have been taking my familys cars here for over fifteen years. I have never had a mechanic that I have trusted like I do Mike and his crew. I called for a quote to compare prices. I have the parts, just needed them installed. They quoted me a price that was $300.00 higher than Pep Boys price to install. When I asked why they were so much more expensive the guy told me that they make money on the parts so since I bought them elsewhere it costs more to install them. WHAT????So I went with Joel and Rons Harmony garage who quoted me closer to the Pep boys quote of $676.50. They were about $100.00 cheaper and have great ratings on their reviews.What ever happened to price matching? Guess they dont mind losing new customers.

I have known Mike for over 25 years. He is an honest, knowledgeable, and professional business owner. He has done work on my two Acuras and one Honda. The mechanics are always able to complete the necessary service and repairs in a timely manner and at a reasonable rate. Mike and the team at Automotive Excellence are the best car repair shop in Sonoma County. They do all the little things that make me feel like a valued customer, whether it be giving me an extra discount even though I didnt bring in a coupon, to vacuuming and washing my car after a service. Theyre open Saturdays which is a huge help with my busy work schedule, and whenever they need to keep my car over night they have free loaner cars available. I highly recommend them!

On the odd occasion that I have called with a question, Mike has been totally there for me, with no intention to gain, just to give me advice. 2 Hondas, and a healthy 12 year old Toyota Matrix now, I wouldnt go anywhere else - and although Id love a Mini Clubman (Im a Brit., ), until Mike brings them under his wing, its not an option !
