Friendly staff. Always a pleasure taking my bike there. Looking forward to getting my bike serviced there in the future.
They were nice. Didnt follow up on a price that was requested.Didnt know there was a decent size surcharge for cards.. Kind of a generic experience. Ill find a different shop going forward.
This is how you run a motorcycle repair shop. Owner operated, with knowledgeable mechanics, fair prices and quality work. They dont stack bikes so turn around times are usually quick and true.
Not too helpful for a non motor vehicle lol sorry was riding my bike. And customer service not too professional.
Very knowledgeable and friendly. Great custom work and service your mechanical issues.
Guys there are the best. Will always go to them for help with my bike
I fully understand their position regarding working on Chinese ATVs. They are hard to work on due to parts ability. I have an Eton Viper 90rcc which is based off the Polaris Predator 90cc which a lot of parts are interchangeable. They did give me great advice which I got it up and running. Bought a complete carb and threw it on and bam... running perfectly. I purchased the carb from a Eton distributor which uses the VIV number to ensure the exact part is ordered.
Great guys that do great work. Very knowledgeable techs.
Very welcoming, friendly and helpful.I simply stop in to check them out. I received directions to a good route to ride.
Took my 02 dyna in cause I had no power and after talking to them asked them to go thru my bike and give it a good going over. They fixed all my oil leaks and replaced everything that was bad after 133,000 miles. Called me thruout the process to let me know prices and what all they found going bad or gone bad. Great crew there and knowledgeable in what they do. Got the bike back and its comfort to know i got some miles ahead of me with little worries. Thank you Renny and everyone that had a hand in these repairs.
Never been here so I dont know
Got my state inspection on my bike here with no problems. The guys were friendly and quick. Cute dog too!
Cool place good people highly recommend
⚡⚡ Danger⚡⚡These guys play shady games!!!!!! Steer clear. Protect yourself and your bike!!!!!!
My experience with Flying Piston Motorcycles was nothing les than stellar ! Amazing ! Superb!I was honestly impressed with them from my initial phone call! The customer service was great from start to finish. They did great work on my Indian Scout. A lot of places wouldn’t even work on a bike that’s not a Harley because they’re lame. From now on Flying Piston Motorcycles is my bike is going .Thanks guys.
Only shop in town to have our touring tire, extremely friendly and professional. I, of course, just came for the cute dog.
I recently purchased a used bike that had not been ridden for sometime. I called around local shops and Flying Piston was suggested as they work on all motorcycles instead of just HD. I went ahead and rode over and was met by the owner and one of the mechanics, Anthony. Both of them took the time to speak to me as well as invite me into the garage to go over any questions I had about the bike as well as giving me an incredibly accurate quote. Their mantra is safety which is exactly what I was looking for. They truly represent what a legitimate bike shop should be like. Honest, helpful, and wanting life on two wheels to be as safe as possible. They are officially my go-to motorcycle shop.
Great service. Fair price. Very competent mechanics.
Quoted me $125 to mount two tires 🤣🤣🤣🤣 hate using big chain stores, but when they will do it for 80% cheaper they win.BTW, a few months ago Google had this place rated below 4, why I was hesitant to call in the first place, and they were packed with bad reviews so dont let the current rating trick you.
Great group of guys! They were lifesavers for me. I needed a part that no dealerships had and these guys called me back and got me fixed up quick. They made me feel comfortable when coming to the shop. I know Ill do business with them in the future and recommend them to all my friends!
Loved this place, they really took care of my 2002 Triumph. It was riding so much better after new tires its almost hard to believe that is all they did.Great service.
Friendly Neighborhood motorcycle shop
I ride an Indian chief dark horse. I didnt think that finding someone to put the tires on my bike would be so difficult. I had pre ordered my tires online which apparently makes no dealer and a majority of mechanics not willing to do the work. Not for these guys. They were more than willing to put on my tires. Really great environment. I was able hang out with the mechanic as he showed me how change the tires, some points on my bike I need watch for future maintenance and even offered to let me borrow tools in order to do work on my own. I highly recommend this shop and will be returning here for any future work. The price is very competitive especially compared to the dealer.

On Saturday 15 June 2019 I was in Austin Texas at the ROT rally. My rear tire had a screw it in it that when I pulled it out to plug it. the hole was so big that 2 plugs would not seal it. It was already past 6 oclock, but I called Flying Pistons in a hope against hope that they were still there and had a tire that would fit my 2015 Victory Cross Country tour. Not only did they have a tire in stock, Jim said hed wait for me to come and get it and with an excellent price! Outstanding service! If I ever have a problem w/my bike while Im in Austin (I live in Dallas) Flying Piston is where Ill take it for service!
I have been around lots of motorcycle shops, but let me tell you that Flying Pistons exceeded my expectations. From the moment you walk in you get that local home vibe you like. Shop manager Lucky and Owner Jim has gone above and beyond form my Harley. Don’t get me wrong all businesses need to make money in order to operate but these guys are not here to clean out your wallet. The best things is these guys are military friendly lucky being a combat vet knows what’s it’s like. They look for the cheapest ways to save you money and their techs in the shop are outstanding. I would fully recommend this shop to anyone who enjoys the life of riding bikes. Thank again guys for the outstanding service......
I had a simple tire repair here. I enjoyed visiting with the owner and a mechanic. They showed me everything they were doing. Having grown up on a farm, I could tell if they were pulling a fast one, but I was completely satisfied. They gave me excellent recommendations for future work when needed. I will be going back.
Had a starter failure on my gl1500 (1994!) While visiting in Austin. Renny and crew were kind enough to work my bike in, professionally diagnosed problem and got me going again. Good/accurate communication, courteous and pleasure to work with. Highly recommend the Flying Piston!!
Brought my bike in with electrical issues. Excellent customer service, excellent work, and great prices!
Solid place, guys are good and its probably the best shop in town ...
Jim and his team were a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend them for any of your motorcycle service needs. They installed a new set of tires and mapped a PC V on my Honda VFR800. If youre looking for a personal service experience from people who care, go see the guys at Flying Piston Motorcycles. Great job!
Man I had so much fun learning something new and seeing the great set up they had going on. Jon was a character! I had some work done on my old CB750 and they knew exactly what they were doing. I was really worried to take such an old bike anywhere considering that most places wont even touch an old classic anymore, fortunately these Gents helped me out. During a conversation they told they had 30 years of experience with these types of bike, so that made me feel very comfortable. The prices were good and the work was great. I will not go anywhere else to service my bike because i know i will be in good hands. Very honest folks that will put it to you straight.
Excellent
Great people, they really helped me out of a jam. Highly recommended! Will use these guys from now on.
Decent enough, but they are kind of expensive for the location.
Jim had me in and out in one day. He was reassuring in a time when i was worried about work as the bike is my transportation. Fast, professional, and honest. Spend your money at flying pistons. Its worth the peace of mind.
If you are looking for good a ol motorcycle shop that’ll shoot you straight look no further
Great place to bring your bike! Friendly knowledgeable staff! Will be back!
Great shop! The got me on the road quick for a reasonable price and I know the job was done right.
Jim is great. He works with you from start to finish and makes sure your entirely satisfied with your service. Hes very helpful and goes the extra mile to make sure hes finding the best deal on parts. This is one of those classic repair shops that takes pride in their work.
Good people just don’t know how to fix a motorcycle.
They got my tires done within a good amount of time and had great customer service. Highly recommend this place for motorcycle tires and other repairs.
Great service, they replaced my tires on my Triumph and it feels so much better it almost seems like they did more.
I always get top notch service here. I have taken multiple bikes here for different things and the work is always done quickly, correctly and at the best price. This is the place you are looking for, no need to keep searching. I will only bring my bikes here and never anywhere else.
Great group to have work on my Harley. Id let my Duece sit too long and needed to go through it. They did it fast and runs like a champ now. Dont tell them now but I feel like I got out cheap with all the things they had to replace. Beats the heck out of dealer prices.
I had the WORST experience EVER at Flying Pistons!! I am new to the area so I didn’t know where to take my bike and I found this place online so I took my Harley to them. I needed two new tires, an inspection, and the brakes done on my bike. They don’t charge per hour so you have no idea how much they are charging you per hour for labor. When I asked about how high the price was they said it was because they did great work and guaranteed their work. I had them do the job and when I got my bike back the brakes were done wrong and I had to take it back to them to fix it.About a month later I was driving my bike to work and as I was accelerating to get on the highway the back tire locked up and I almost fell off the bike. I was able to get to the side of the road and found that the bolts on the back wheel had broken off and come out of there “supposedly, lock tight” place.I called them to come and pick up the bike and about three hours later they came out to pick it up. I had to walk back home and get my truck. When I got to their shop they said that none of this was their fault and that I would need to pay for all the repairs.I got my trailer and picked up my bike. I will NEVER go back to them!
Awesome!!
Jim the owner is a real stand up guy. Tim and Mike are his techs are pretty nice and polite. More importantly their quality of work is very good. Jim stuck around late one night so I could pick my bike that night. They took about 79 hours to do what most bigger shoppes would do in a week, for a fraction of the price. These dudes are real gear heads, they really care about their work and your experience. They deserve your business! Youll wish you had taken your bike here after the experience ive had all around Austin.
Always gotten great service at a great price. Jim will answer questions honestly, not for his benefit. I will never get tires anywhere else. These guys actually give a care!
Fantastic Service. Incredible knowledge. Quick turnaround.Couldnt ask for much more than that.Well done, Flying Piston.Really appreciate your help.
This is a amazing place! service is great and quick if you are waiting. Everyone is very friendly. I have used them more than once. I will use them for my bike going forward.
Incompetent owner and staff. 4 1/2 hours to repair 1 broken exhaust manifold bolt. $479.00 to repair a $600.00 head. On top of $479.00 the mechanic also took the valves out of the head. It took almost two weeks to get the call to pick the head up Jim the owner told me i had 2 broken valve springs and 2 bent valves, when i picked the parts up the story had changed to a collapsed exhaust spring. So now i have a stripped head to rebuild on top of the $479.00 dollars to fix 1 twisted off bolt.
FP are professionals, do quality work & give great customer service. They were so kind to me. I called for my husband (who works long hours) and Bill was patient with me while I read over the notes about my husbands need to find a dyno and get custom mapping done for a used 2008 Interceptor. In addition, he needed to get the tires replaced with a pair hed purchased online. We were told itd be no problem! My husband was able to bring the bike in the very next morning and hes so pleased with all the work that was done on the bike! We highly recommend FP
Jim is great. he and his team really know bikes and do great, reasonable work!
On Friday 14 June 2019 I was in Austin Texas at the ROT rally. I had a tire go bad on my 2015 Dark Horse Indian. Went to the Round Rock Indian dealership. They couldnt help my till the next Tuesday. They said to try Flying Piston. Told me how to find it. I pulled up at 1401 Sam Bass Road, Round Rock Texas. Jim Kline Jr. Told me it would take a little bit and they had the tire size, and brand I wanted. Less than 1 1/2 hours I had a new tire. Jason was so great he told how to check the air pressure with the Equal Balance in the tire. This was the best experience in have had in 45 years riding a motorcycle. Service was great. Cost was better than the same brad I had on my blke.Thank you Jim for having a business to do such a great job, and thaking care of customers.Jason, you very much. Thanks for a great job.Greg Hardy. I would not recommend these guys. They appear to be friendly, but completely took advantage of me. They quoted one price for changing a tire, but when I went to pay it was over twice as much. This place is what gives the stereotype to a shady mechanic. Hopefully no one will have to learn the hard way like me to avoid this place!
Mechanic old freind when I bought 90 fat boy in Killeen Ron/John Hall
Charged me 140 dollars for a 40 dollar tire swap. Put dirt in my tire because they have no clue how to balance a tire. Better if they put Slime, it would still balance the tire and fix leaks instead of causing them.
I took my bike to these guys and the bike has not ran for over 3 years. I wanted them to go through the bike since it would not stay running. They went above and beyond and made sure that I was going to have a safe bike under me on the rode.
Excellent customer service! Its refreshing to deal with a business that actually cares about you and your needs. Knowledgeable, trustworthy and courteous!
Called looking for parts the Gentlemen went out of his way to help me definitely recommending
Awesome service. Feel like its one of the last legitimate places I can trust to take my Harley.
Great customer service. Did the job in less than a quarter of the time the dealership wanted.
After being turned away by the Indian dealer, we lucked into calling Jim & company at the Flying Piston shop. Not only would they mount our tires, they gave us an education in the hows and whys of tire care, maintenance and avoiding problems in the future. I returned the next day and bought more tires from FPM. Fantastic customer service and top notch mechanics! AND, they have certified Indian technicians! Were done with the local dealership. Found my go-to-shop from now on! Take my word, you wont go wrong at FPM.
After a complete restoration of an old Ironhead, I wanted a professional to dial in the carb and ignition and do a thorough inspection to be sure the bike was safe and mechanically sound. FPM was the second shop I visited... the first shop had the bike for a month, however, returned it to me with comments like, great job.. cool bike.... FPM actually found a safety issue. Specifically the bearings installed in the steering head were for a newer sporty which resulted in tight/binding steering. Overall, I was pleased with their service and attention to detail. Ill definitely use them again when needed.
Three times Ive had to take my motorcycle and I was on a time schedule these guys fix my stuff quickly and for a fair price I recommend them every time
The guys here are great! Quick service and good price
Very friendly and helpful over phone, look forward to further business with them
Always a pleasure to do business with Jim. You get great service and some comedic relief. I recommend Flying Piston to anyone.
Great experience, knowledge crew.
I have been here on several occasions looking for parts for my hayabusa, Jim there was able to get me what I needed, I returned to have them do my fork seals they did an awesome job even polished everything up made it look a hundred percent better than before thanks guys
I’d put put zero stars if I could but one star is the lowest. Extremely unsatisfied with their service. I dont recommend this shop to anyone I know. 👎
I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the demeanor of the actions of Flying Piston Motorcycle Repair on my final visit to this company/business. I had checked them out well before I took my Harley to them, simply to replace tires and brake pads. Jim was very helpful and they were about the same price as a Harley-Davidson dealership, but the promise of them completely going over the bike before returning it in great overall working order after the service seemed to be an excellent plus to me and it was also a great alternative to a dealership. I took my bike in and had great hopes of their service. When I was nearing the time to pickup my bike almost two weeks later, some odd things started to happen. The Service Writer Kevin answered my call about when the service would be completed, and at that time, he told me he had replaced the battery, when I had specifically told him I did not want a battery. I then told him AGAIN that I did not want the battery and to please remove it and put my original battery back on my bike. When I picked up the bike, it STILL had the battery on the bike, despite my request. Unfortunately, I did not press the issue at that time and just paid the approximately $125 (about the same price as the Harley dealerships). The final straw came after I noticed the added/increased damage (dent and multiple paint chips) to my Deuce rear fender. When I simply called and made Jim aware of this damage, Kevin (the owner’s son) went into full denial mode and said oh yeah, we verbally discussed it when we checked-in the bike...at that point, I had not even asked them to either repair OR pay for the damage...Just let him them know about the issue. I have taken immaculate care of my bike since I purchased it new in 2003 and I know exactly when and what small damage I incurred 12 years ago and have babied it since that time with polish and wax to avoid any and all possible rust. With their immediate refusal to take any responsibility for the damage they caused, I will NEVER utilize their services again and I sincerely hope no other trusting future customers experience the same type of negative scenario I have. In this day and time, it is very discouraging to have been taken advantage of by a local business...my bad personal decision.ADDITION: After this bad service call for some “simple” repairs, I took my Deuce to Ft. Hood Harley-Davidson to spend some VISA credit card rebate dollars to get it road-ready for a 4,200 mile road trip to The Sturgis Black Hills Rally with a buddy. When I picked up my bike from them, they asked me where I got my new tires. I told them about my bad service experience with Flying Piston Motorcycle Repair and the actual mechanic told me me when he did all his final road test and overall check before returning the bike, he had found that Flying Piston did not tighten the tires valves completely and that they were loose. To me, I considered the sloppy service protocols by Flying Piston very dangerous! If the Ft. Hood Harley folks had not caught this “minor” detail, it could have possibly put me in a life-changing/ending situation with a flat front or rear tire failure at 80 mph over that 4,200 mile trip. I very much appreciate the professionalism of Ft. Hood Harley and recommend avoiding any business dealings with Flying Piston Motorcycle Repair. With respect and concern for other motorcycle riders, Richard Soslow
Has been over 8 months and my bike is still there..do not return any phone calls. Bike still not fixed. Poor service...for professionals.
I cant leave a negative star, but if I could I would. THIS PLACE IS A RIPOFF.FYI, I am not a guy who leaves reviews and or has ever left a review before, but in this case it is a public service. I was getting a set of wheels powder coated and took my wheels in for tire removal. I was quoted $50 per wheel, I thought that was very reasonable with mounting and balancing. One week later I got my wheels back from the powder coater and I dropped them off. New wheel bearings were recommended and not a bad suggestion. I didnt figure it would make that much a difference in price. A couple days later, we were there at the end of the day. We waited for 30 minutes before they actually got around to ringing us up. They took so long I had to take a phone call. I handed my GF the credit card and I went to the car. At check, out my GF was charged almost $400. I didnt notice because I was in the car on a call with my attorney. After finding out I turned around and headed back to the shop. Surely, there was a mistake in the charge. They were already gone, the gate was closed. I called the shop number and left a message with one on the techs for the owner to call me in the morning and told him the reason for the call.Saturday, no call. Monday no call. Tuesday still no call. Wednesday I called and talked to the same tech. The owner would not get on the phone. I discussed the issue and asked him what his shop rate was. They dont have a shop rate posted and he could not answer my question. He said that is how long they had tied up in the parts because they didnt want to chip the power coat. I said you guys have a tire machine and putting in and removing bearings should take less than one hour with the rims off the bike. I was charged 3 units of labor for $300. I asked if they thought that was reasonable. I got a quote from Team Scream cycles for $50 a wheel including the labor for the bearings. They said they were not making any time adjustments for the labor. Just fyi these are NOT pressed bearings. They are tapped in and out with a hammer and normally I do this work myself. Hindsight is 20/20 I will never use this shop again even though it is less than a half mile from my house. I would never ever recommend anyone going there either. I should have read their reviews first. That is why I am leaving one now. Maybe I can save some someone from getting ripped off or piston-ed. UNBELIVEABLE!
They were the only shop open on a Monday and I had to have a tire replaced. The guys are great - super friendly and helpful and they went the extra mile to make sure my bike was good to go.
They were the only shop in town that would even talk to me since my bike is older
The owner (Jim I believe) is a super nice guy. Pleasant, easy-going, maybe a bit slower paced than optimal, but overall a good experience. Some of his staff on the other hand, not so great. One of the main mechanics there, also Jim I believe, is kinda rude. Maybe I caught him on a bad day, but he was generally unhelpful when I brought a friends CRB 250 Repsol Edition in, and was happy to flex that he knew more than me by telling me I was wrong when I mentioned a technical aspect of the bike.Kevin was initially a good experience. Nice, pleasant, towed my wrecked FZ6 from the lot. I told him I wanted to fix it myself, but might be tight on budget. About 6 weeks later, after many phone calls continuously asking if he had an estimate yet, he finally came back with one. After I told him I couldnt afford it, he charged me for the tow and the estimate (which is fair) but refused to give me paperwork for the estimate. No detail on what was broken, no breakdown on what parts are necessary, no paperwork at all. When I asked him for documentation (this proves he actually did his job AND helps me with a paper trail when I need to resell the bike), he said he worked really hard to gain my business and wanted me to get it fixed there. I asked for paperwork two or three times again, called, and email, and still no paperwork with the same reasoning. He basically charged me $60 to tell me 6 weeks later that my bike was broken and would take ~$1.5K + Labor to fix it. Frustrated and upset, I took my totaled bike home, and got no help from anyone else from the shop. This is one experience with this shop. Like I said, a few of them were super pleasant, but when it came down to the big money work, I totally felt under pressure and uncomfortable. I ended up fixing it with upgrades (R6 forks, aftermarket front end bar/controls/levers, etc.) for ~$1K with lots of forum and youtube research.
Serviced my Aprillia scooter for me. Great local shop.
Best place for your bike.Hands down!
Alwes have good service and do a good job in a timely manner
Terrible service!Terrible response time! They lost my invoice for a quote and took 2 months to get back with meThe owner Jim is a A*? Hole!Dont take your bike here to be serviced. Youll have parts falling off your bike when you ride it out the shop...
