I went to see the “one legged Kevin Costner” listed as a roadside America attraction. What a place. The giant praying mantis is awesome. Lots of statues, pottery and eccentric items. Worth the visit!

Well they have a lot of garden type flagstone and stuff for garden but u have to so through what u want and they are in tight containers so near impossible if ur are older like me. No one will help u get what u want and the containers are not easy access. If they were i could get some of the slates. Oh well. And no shade. Felt like 110 degrees put in reality was only 80. Ig. Wear sun screen. Bring strong helpers. Not accessible to regular folk.

Weve been buying materials from Silverado for over 30 years, but about every decade I swear I will never go back because of the terrible customer treatment. Good service has NEVER been a feature of Silverado/Thompson, but periodically it gets so bad that I would not recommend that others support this now very large business. They are now at one of those lows in customer care. Unless you like abuse--no service about it--I suggest avoiding them. Plenty of rock places, esp. in that part of town. Maybe someday, they will all get on the same page regarding what their exhorbent delivery fees actually include. Set-up of ton+ boulders? Depends WHICH guy you talk to. They even tried to get me to wait and work it out with the driver upon delivery of said boulders. Really? These folks are just not helpful and seem to go out of their way to be rude when asked common, basic questions. Like, How much? Good luck.

Miguel Torres and Ernesto Gomez you two were a godsend yesterday 9/24/2020.I’m still just “Amazed” at the service I got yesterday at Thompson’s Building Materials!! I went to pick up some Colorado Skippers for rock painting - I am a part of the Sacto Cali Rocks group. Currently I am unable to walk without assistance so when I arrived I was met by Ernesto who right away put me in connection Miguel to come and pick me up in a golf cart to take me to get my perfect rocks. Miguel not only took me to get the rocks he actually helped me pick some out - who does this? Once finished I was given my chariot ride back to the front and headed inside to pay. At this time the young man in the office met me at the doors and sat me down right inside the doors while he took my payment back at his desk and brought it over to me to pay and sign. I was then directed outside where I was to met by Miguel to provide me my trip back to my car with my rocks. I was so impressed with these two young gentlemen and had to write this review! Such thoughtful employees I will now be a long time loyal customer. Miguel and Ernesto you ROCK!

First time I delivered there yesterday, what a huge place, they have everything for landscaping and Home Improvement.

30 minutes of hold after receptionist picked up and then someone dropped the call, happened a number of times, i think its a norm for this place. Dont even bother calling them. HORRIBLE customer service on multiples of other occasions as well.

I went there to purchase a fountain that I hadmy eye on for 6 months. The cost was over $2000. The ladies (2) were so negative as if they did not want my business. Made all kinds of comment to persuade me from the purchse.Ex: It would be 3 months before they actually placed the order and then a wait period of an additional 3 months before it arrived...The company that they had to place the order with were crazyIt was just a negative and rude vibe...but I realized they had the issues...not IAs I stood in line to pay at the outside cashier stand...I listen to then whisper and watch a middle age couple that were sitting on one on the benches.Totally unprofessional and very awkwardly uncomfortable dealing with the ladies in the fountain department.Other then those 2, the rest of staff were friendly and helpful.

I checked online to make sure they were open on Friday after Thanksgiving. I sent a truck down from Auburn to get some materials. They were closed. Taking a 4 day weekend is totally understandable but their website should have informed me.

I dont usually do this but felt obligated. We drove almost an hour each way to purchase some flagstone. I picked this place because of their selection. We purchased over 1100 lbs (it is sold by the pound). We were told that we could return any unused flagstone. After our project was complete, we had roughly 300 lbs left over. I drove almost an hour to return the unused portion only to be told we do not take unused flagstone back.. When I told them that I was told I could bring the unused portion back, I was given the excuse its too much of a pain to reweigh. I hope this review helps someone looking for a building materials facility. There are several to choose from.

Great place! If you are looking for any stone/block this is the place. I just stopped by today for the first time to investigate for future projects, they have all the stone you could want. Many displays throughout the premises, many fountains, figurines, and a friendly staff. I was impressed! Worth a visit just to look around.

Dont believe the employees on the phone when they say you can return unused product. You cannot return flagstone and they will charge you at least $36 for restocking fee without telling you.

Great customer service, lots of variety of stones/fountains/benches/decor/landscaping.... I love this place. There are staged areas for ideas, they even have a design service. I come here for all my outdoor stone and patio needs.

Beautiful nursery but definitely over charged for a dead plant that was originally $14 on the 70% off table. I thought for $5 I can try and bring it back.. instead they charged me $10 and I should have complained but the girl at the register was so rude I honestly just wanted to get out of that place!. Im not going back.

I needed a replacement firebrick stone for my bosss pizza oven. So I thought this would be the place. As soon as I walked up with the broken piece in my hand one of the workers was walking past me and he just said, nope, we dont carry that. We dont have that. I was like really?? This is a stone store and you dont have stone?? What a waste of time. And honestly now that I think about it, I should of still went up to the customer service desk as this man may not have known what he was talking about.

I came here for a specific variety of pomegranate tree that was only carried by two nurseries in Sacramento. The other place was didnt have the tree in stock so I came here. The worker I spoke with was very friendly and helped me pick a good tree. There was a lot of variety in trees and other plants that I didnt fully browse. I would definitely come here again for my next fruit tree.

Awesome they have all the essentials youll ever need for light,medium,or heavy construction involving concrete or stucco. Massive outdoor decore including fountains,statues,ponds,pottery,bricks,surface rocks and more!! Definately the place to visit in Sacramento! A+! A must see.

This place is a joke - do not even bother. We are in the middle of an extensive yard remodel. Silverado has been the absolute worst part of our project.Not once, not twice, but three times we have a) called in advance to confirm they have stone in stock, b) driven all the way out there (40 mins for us) to pick it up c) paid for the stone d) told by the stone loader that they are actually not only not in stock, but 3-4 weeks out from arriving. Then we have to go through the refund process from there. THREE times! What kind of company is this?Our first two request for inventory was 18x36 pavers - we were told they had 50 in stock. They had ZERO.Our second request for inventory was 12x24 pavers - we were told they had 19 in stock. They had ZERO.I spoke with Edward today who could not care less that weve had a horrific experience. Im truly just stunned that this place can manage to stay in business. Atrocious!

My husband recently bought old bricks - the pallett was delivered to the car and he began to place the bricks into the car, it was soon apparent that there were more broken bricks than originally presumed. A gentleman from the company, told my husband that he could not pick which bricks he wanted he had to take them all broken and all. It was a very disturbing experience as we indicated that the bricks were destined for a path way, and needless to say broken bricks were not an option. He was incredibly dismissive of my husband and thus my husband asked for his money back and left. We wont be back.

Terrible service...check your order COMPLETELY!!! ROUTINELY SHORT PRODUCT ON ORDERS!!! And then when you need to return something, it takes an act of congress. Even then, typically, its sorry sir... so you end up leaving product behind -- which they then re-sell. Must be hard-up for money (how, idk, because their prices are ridiculously expensive!!!). This place sucks. Unfortunately, it is the only place to get some materials from -- and they know it, so their service levels are just nil. I have never had a good experience here. Its like going to the proctologist -- a necessary but unpleasant experience every time.

I like to shop for plants here because they sell small, individual plants, not six packs. On a weekday morning the nursery is peaceful. Ive also bought single pieces of stone here, to use as stepping stones. They have soooo many different kinds of stone to use in landscaping and building. Lots of statuary and fountains too.

Checkout takes forever. They hand write their invoices. Then they ring it up, and then they staple the register receipt to your copy of invoice, then they file their invoice prior to you getting yours. Need to modernize.

Plenty of parking spaces, feel free to park and walk around. When ready to buy walk into the sale Office. They are little pricey so shop around before pulling the trigger.

There are a lot of statues and plants that you wouldnt see very often. The plants there cost less than if you bought the same on e from Green Acres.

My wife went there and the customer service was horrid. The employee with dreadlocks/corn holes was more interested in getting his Starbucks from another employeee than helping her out. No thanks.Managers/Owners you need to make customer service better for people and a priority for your employees.If I was there I would have complained right there and asked Mr Cornholes if he thought I truly wanted to dig thru acres of stone to find the right one.Furthermore when someone shows up at the opening hours of your business they just might be in a hurry. Take care of them.

Watch out! I got over charged by $14!! It sucks because Im not the type of person to say something or call them and question it. 😔 I was in the parking lot trying to make sense of their math and I got very discouraged by all of the ALL SALES FINAL and other verbage they use on their receipts. You just wouldnt think you would get over charged when you only purchase one thing. I used to refer this place to a lot of my friends because I like their selection and customer service. Its too bad that now I just have this sour taste in my mouth.
