This used to be THE place to go for beekeeping supplies. Sadly, they are now only selling honey, candles, and other boutique items now. I’m so sad to see it go. I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision for them.Update: i’m changing my two star review to a four-star. Even though I was disappointed that they didn’t have the beekeeping supplies I was looking for, that doesn’t mean this is an inferior store, or that the service is poor. The people are still tops.

I went to this place yesterday and bought local Sacramento honey, paid 8:50 for a16oz bottle. Honey seemed water down, was hot thick enough and lost sweetness of the honey. Was not impressed.

This place has always been the go to when it comes to beekeeping. The people working here are amazing and always friendly. Wish they had a slightly larger inventory when it comes to queen rearing, but what they do have in stock is top notch quality.

Stopped in there for the first time to get some glass honey bear jars. The jars were inexpensive, better, and costed 1/2 of what they were online from that place everyone shops at. They even had plenty in stock that I was able to get a full case. The customer service was great as they were professional, polite, and very helpful. Was so nice they had exactly what I was looking for, and more than I needed. On top of a few other items that were so cute that I had to also get. The beautiful bee glassware, candles, and all the kinds of soaps they offer would all make great gifts. Also the store was easy to find, and I will be going back.

Love the honey! Over the years Ive tried their various flavors and honey offerings from other areas, but I always return to the local honey - its just so good! They also offer beekeeping supplies and a variety of beeswax and honey related items like candle-making supplies, pollen products, body care products and some cosmetic offerings. Ive also purchased lovely bee-themed gifts such as candles, totes, books, tea towels, etc. Really appreciate that theyre a local family-owned business.

Essential oils are available along with bee keeping supplies. This place is locally owned and they provide outstanding customer service & products. Oh, and they carry candle making supplies too. This is my go-to store for candle-making supplies---its a holiday tradition! Can never get out without picking up some of the wonderful honey and bee-themed items in the gift shop. I also love that its a family-run business, involving several generations. Theyre all very friendly and helpful.

Friendly and helpful staff who enjoy what they do. Tester bottles of honey and creamed honey are great. Interesting how the taste varies from flower to flower. Bring your own bottle for a cheaper fill up.

Great source of local honey! If you get your honey jars filled by the store from their honey keg, its much cheaper than buying the prepackaged ones. Good selection of beeswax candles, though they can be pricey.All the staff know a lot, and many are active beekeepers themselves. They have a hive out the back of the store, and sell all the equipment you need to become a beekeeper. I bought a couple beekeeping books from them, and they seem comprehensive.

Love this place. I drive over 30 miles to get my honey and wax supply from them. The prices are reasonable, the staff is informative, and have pretty much everything related to bees and their by product.

Im not a beekeeper, so I come here just for the honey and cosmetics supplies. Amazing, cheap, local honey at $6 a pound. Super cheap! And they sell stuff you need to make your own candles and cosmetics such as soy wax, dried lavender, coconut oil (even in large tubs!), apricot and grapeseed oils! Great, great prices!

For a homeopathic way to relieve local allergies this is the store to go to. They have 12 or so local and other area Honeys to sample from before you purchase, you can also bring your own container.

We went here to try and get local honey for allergies. Not only did they have what we were looking for but they had so many assortments of honey and such friendly staff that it actually made the experience enjoyable.

There are so many different types of honey that are offered here and the employees are super nice. Any jar that you bought from them to fill up with honey can be brought back for refills at a discounted price.

After my first trip to Sacramento Beekeeping Supplies, I know Ill be back. They had little suitcases of bees waiting for some of the keepers and my little girls were very curious. One of the owners was on hand and he was a very good teacher - my girls loved having all their questions answered. Then we browsed, tasted a few of the varieties of honey, and purchased local honey for a VERY fair price (similar to what I was paying a farmer out of Wilton). Not a fancy part of town but super close to the freeway and I didnt drive a half hour from my home. The building being painted bright yellow with clear signage made it very easy to find. Though I didnt have need for wax or oils this time, I noticed that the prices on these items were also very fair when compared to prices Ive paid in the past, but I didnt see tons of variety or a lot of organic choices.

I learned more about bees and agriculture in general in 15 minutes here than I did in (too many) years of college.I like that they have so many different types and let you taste them too. I bought some super-orangey orange honey recently that is by far the best Ive ever had.
