Took my daughter and her friend after a long day. I had the Buttermilk Brined Pork Chop. It was by far the most flavorful chop I ever had! They serve it with a sweet jam, creamy corn hash and sweet potatoes. I highly recommend you try it. You will not be disappointed!

Friendly, smiling staff. Best Flat Whites this side of New Zealand. Tasty pastries. Quiet place to sit and enjoy delicious coffee drinks and read or spend time with a friend. My wife and I live in the bay area but whenever we are passing through Sacramento we get off the freeway to visit Chocolate Fish. It is very near the freeway exit/entrance so it takes no time.

One of the best local roasters in the Sacramento for sure! Fantastic coffee. The only downside to this location is it is somewhat limited compared to their other spots. All the standard espresso options are here but if you want a pour over or press youll have to go to another location.

If you want an espresso as dark and strong as a motor oil - this is not the right shop for you. Luckily these are not very popular right now, therefore the richness suffices for the most mortals. I know some magazine had recommended this place as the coffee shop of Sacramento, but I dont see whats a big fuss about - I even feel like my espresso machine makes better (read: stronger/richer) espresso. But again - Im lonely in my coffee preferences.On a more serious note - I did notice an interesting note of molasses-ish taste in their coffee. Any ideas what that could have been?

Coffee shop that really knows their coffee. Excellent espresso, made perfectly. Also had a mocha that was perfect, not chocolate milk with a little coffee but a rich espresso/chocolate pairing. Dont hesitate to drop in here.

Good place for a cup of coffee. Wonderful, relaxing coffee shop, and yet hidden away from the very busy street. All the things are great tasting and also their behaviors are laid back, entertaining, clever and artsy. I love it here!

Ive been going to Chocolate Fish since they opened. These guys have great coffee. Now, before you go, Ill warn you. If you think Starbucks is good and you like that sharp burnt coffee taste, then this is not the coffee place for you. Instead, at Chocolate Fish youll get properly roasted coffee turned into excellent beverages.The staff is always awesome, and after youve been there a couple times theyll remember your name and greet you by name unless you havent been there in a while and they perhaps forgot it. I think the prices are very comparable to other places, especially when you consider the quality. As I said, the finished product is always excellent here.

Stopped at this place driving south because it was right off the 5. Really great latte! Totally unexpected. Its so hard to find good coffee on the road but this place delivers!

Hipster coffee joint. Looked down their noses at me when I asked for Hazelnut, offered almond milk as a substitution. Typical better than you hipster attitude sent me down the line to Camellia.

Fast and friendly service, I had a tasty drip coffee on the way to see a client downtown. Parking can be a challenge here. There is lots of outdoor seating available but not much indoors.

Little pricey but high value and quality cannot be undervalued

Baristas are friendly and get drinks out fairly quick and still make pretty latte art! The seating is a little limited but if you grab a seat the environment is overall warm and welcoming.

Disclaimer: the 4 stars might get up to 5 on subsequent visitation :) I have no problems with Chocolate Fish--Great coffee, knowledgeable folks making it (and who very successfully helped me pick out one of their four coffee offerings that would suit me), peaceful patio setting (or was on a Sunday morning).Not too expensive; not dirt cheap.

Went for the Gilmore girls event, the staff were all excited, played the part well and the coffee was good.

Unfortunately the espresso machine was down today and so we were relegated to some later-in-the-afternoon pour-overs..Two nice pour-overs today:1) Kenyan Lennette from Bird Rock Coffee Roasters (Micro-Roaster of the year 2012) for Ali. Cherries and Dark Chocolate came out, Red Plum and Blood Orange not so much.2) For me a Tana Toraja from Sulawesi (Indonesia) from Demitasse Roasters in Sacramento. The black tea, bergamot, and red fruits pop out, but no hint of honeydew.Cute place overall :). Easy atmosphere... A bit chilly inside - more warmth would be more cozy. The whole staff is in sweaters and jackets. The brick is nice, but cold!Nice stop... Check it out!

The vegan carrot cupcakes are to die for! I used to think I loved coffee, but now I cant drink anything but Chocolate Fish without feeling disappointed. The baristas remember your name and your order, and the free Wi-Fi makes it a pleasure to sit and enjoy the day. They even gave me excellent advice on coffee-related Christmas gifts last year.
