Stopped in after our visit to the costume mansion to escape the rain and grab a quick bite to eat. Ordered a coffee a turkey bacon panino and chicken tenders for the kiddo. The server took our order and offered to clean a table that had just vacated. The coffee was nice and hot and hit the spot, and the panini was really good too with pesto and avocado served on toasted foaccacia bread.
We stopped to have lunch. Awesome sandwich and soup. Would recommend to everyone.
Great place for breakfast for two. If you want to people watch as you have breakfast, this is the best place since it’s at the heart of a very lively area. The coffee is great and so is their food.

Arrived a few minutes after they opened and ordered two lattes and an almond croissant for $20. We asked to sit outside and they assigned us a table that was filthy and covered in crumbs from the day before. Seeing as we were the only ones there, We took the liberty to sit at another table. Within 15 seconds the staff came out and asked us to go sit at our assigned table because the table we sat at was for 4 people. There were no other people anywhere inside or out at 8am on a weekday, yet they refused to let us sit there even though we explained why we preferred to sit at the only clean table outside. We took our coffee and croissant to go. While the lattes were good, the croissant was the worst I’ve ever had. I absolutely LOVE a good croissant and buy one everywhere I travel to, but it was so stale that you couldn’t even bite into it or tear it apart. We gave it to a homeless person who we hope enjoyed it. I’m not one to write bad reviews but I feel it’s important to let others know when the customer service is poor and more importantly, when what they serve is not fresh. What a bummer :-(
Steamers is one of the few, if only, businesses in Old Sacramento that opens early like 07:00. This was a blessing as I was craving coffee and food. Which they had in style. I ordered the Frnch toast and then the early bird breakfast which is eggs, bacon, toast or potatoes. The French toast does not come with a combo and does not look like traditional square French toast which is perfectly fine. The French toast 3 large slices was cooked perfectly and to me had the right amount of cinnamon on it. The Early bird breakfast come with a healthy portion of eggs 2 slices of bacon and 2 slices of toast. The breakfast looked perfect. I actually ate everything which is a first for me. Coffee I had 2 cups and it was quite good as well. The staff was all very friendly and helpful.Thanks for starting the day out right.
Cute and historic location with outside and indoor dining. The food was great and the salsa was AMAZING! Friendly staff that served with a smile. They are also dog friendly. The coffee and pastries smell the entire corner of goodness. I can’t wait to return

The service was really great and efficient! However, I was not a big fan of either of the sandwiches I tried (roasted turkey on wheat and ham/swiss on croissant). They were both pretty mediocre and dry :( but! You, my dear stranger, might like their sandwiches, so don’t count them out!
Cobb salad with added burger patty was great. My Uncle had the Reuben and the meat was not dry at all. So delicious. My Aunt had a turkey sandwich with avocado and basil mayo. A definite must. The burgers are great. The garlic fries are good. And the clam chowder you have to try. Next time you are visiting you have to try this place out! Loved it.
Food is very nice. The only problem that I don’t like is they are putting a Out of order sign in their bathroom. This is a tourist spot with tourist prices and they don’t want customers to use their restroom, rather use the public bathroom.
The food was alright but the place was filthy. No silverware or napkins, bathroom is also out of order and no hand sanitizer anywhere. Service was very poor. We mentioned the dirty table that we were assigned and they just handed us napkins to clean it up ourselves. Really?? Its not like they were super busy as there were at least 6 workers. There was also a filthy busser tray right next to us the entire time. Table, chairs, child seats, everything was dirty and had crumbs. Avoid this place!
We havent been here in almost 2 yrs due Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions. It was great to enjoy this quaint cafe again with the locals.
The ambience upon arrival is very calming. The menu items are inviting. The prices have gone up since I came before the COVID Pandemic shut everything down. The customer service is beyond compare. The ladies we interacted with were so very nice.
Met some friends for lunch. Food was delicious., pricing was actually less than most places in old sac charges. What I didnt like was with social distancing there were no tables available to enjoy the beautiful weather while enjoying good company and good food.
Disappointing the burger bun was burned and the chicken was not properly cooked - looked and tasted like pretty cheap dark chicken meat too. It’s not too hard to make a Chicken burger! Feel disappointed
Great food. Very friendly staff. I had the fried chicken club and my girlfriend had a BLTA with a large fry to split for $27.06!!! A bit pricey but the fried chicken club was filling. My biggest problem there was seating. It was very busy and not a whole lot of room. Ill be back for another fried chicken club sandwich but this time itll will be to go.

I walked in on Sunday morning to grab a quick bite. As soon as I parked my car, the lady comes out and tells me, you know that’s 15 minutes parking. I was like, yes, I’m going in to grab a Togo order we called in. I walk into the restaurant. The same lady outside is in the back asking if I have a mask. Very rudely, they need to learn some customer service. I won’t be coming back to this location again for sure . Worst experience i have ever had parking authority and mask authority they should just serve customer there food and move on. My lost of business may not effect them just wanted to post my experience because it was totally off.
Food was mediocre, bathroom situation was weird. It only locks one way and causes a lot of confusion amongst patrons, while the key is behind the counter, and inconvenient when all staff was busy.
Employees were super friendly and quick. Their covid procedures are great, with assigned tables that are distanced.
The food is filling and the people are nice. I would go back there.

I ordered the chilaquiles. It was obviously premade, like a lasagna and cold, I was halfway thru and there was a long hair enmeshed in it. I took it back to the counter, gave my plate to the hostess, explained, went back to my table. No one apologized, no one came to our table, no offer to correct the situation. It was a very odd experience to be ignored like that after such a gross error. I don’t throw tantrums or demand my money back, I expect more from an establishment. Very disappointing. Skip this place and go to McDonalds, you might get a hair in your food, but at least it will be warm.

Bad service. They were trying to make our family of 4 sit at a table 1 foot away from a table with a family of 9. We moved tables to one that was spaced about 6 feet the manager told us we couldnt move to that empty table because it was made for 2 people and covid prevented them letting us sit there We HAD to sit 1 foot away from a maskless family of 9. That didnt even make sense? We werent 6 feet apart from them, actually they had a child in a stroller blocking our seat that how close they wanted us to be and there is no partitions dividing the tables, so how was this being covid compliant???? Pointing out that if a group of 2 came in theyd fit better next to the table of 9 was not making sense to the manager who just kept saying covid. We refused to move and was told they make our order to go? We canceled our order.
Horrible place. My simple breakfast arrived in 45 min? Really? For a croissant grilled sandwich takes 45min? this is our first time and definitely will be our last. Never ever recommend this place to anyone. Definitely they forgot our order. We follow up w/ the servers 3 times they said it’s coming but actually forgotten it. Never again

We waited in line to order breakfast for quite some time. I got up to the counter at 11:29 and was told breakfast was over, lunch only. I stated we had been waiting some time and it was still prior to 11:30 (when breakfast ends). The woman at the counter said, well sorry. We left and did not eat there.
Nice atmosphere. Good house blend. Courteous service. They have a nice selection of breakfast options and pastries. They do full sit down breakfast, but its mingled in with people just stopping in for coffee. All counter service... But if you order full breakfast they bring it to the table. A little crowded after 9 on a Sunday... Nice crowd, some drinking mimosas, some with kids... Full range of people to eavesdrop on... Haha. Need to ask for key to use restrooms (sigh). Need more seating to accommodate volume, so get there early if you want a table.

Cute, cozy coffee shop in Old Downtown Sacramento. The staff was SO FRIENDLY and welcoming. We had a long layover at the airport and decided to venture into town. As weary travelers, the warm staff were the highlight of our visit to Steamers. The food was also great! I’d recommend trying the breakfast taco and chilaquiles! It was rainy and chilly and we were given to-go hot coffee on our way out. Again, the service was excellent!
The coffee here is amazing and so is the food, especially their burgers.

The smell of bacon when you walk in the door its you and your mouth starts to salivate. The Carmel macchiato that Janie I made was amazing. I recommend everyone stop here. Color your order in in advance for an easy pick up.

Last night was the first time we went to this good restaurant. But It is definitely not the last. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the generous service, with the fine cuisine and wine and with the comfortable cost. We will definitely visit there soon.

My large americano was completely undrinkable, i could forgive its watery and sour, but after couple of sips my heart went crazy, which means they run shots for minutes, thinking it will make drink stronger, but actually making slops.

Had lunch and we lucky enough to sit outdoors. There was a guy drawing characters of people on the corner and it was some good entertainment.
Homemade Irish Coffee is the smoothest Ive ever had! Food is delicious and well priced. Craft beers are standard fare with, again, a smooth flavor often lacking in local brews. Will *definitely* be on the top of the list for frequent Old Sac weekends. Bravissimo!

Considering the state mandates on ppe and inside dining, this is a great stop. Reasonable as well. Avocado/swiss yum is youre not looking to over do.
I enjoy a spot where you place your order, get a number and have a seat. The ladies this morning were super friendly and Im sorry I live so far away as I would be a regular if this were in my area. I had simple scrambled eggs with sourdough, fried potatoes and ham. Due to a mishap at another restaurant the day before, my stomach wasnt 100% so it was pretty much eggs and toast for me. But I sampled the potatoes and ham and both were just as delicious as they looked. Tazo tea is offered and the pastries, if I could have had one, looked like it would be difficult to choose from- they all called to me.

Breakfast fare was adequate at best. Whats with restaurants serving food barely warm? Flavor was ok, but the food was cold before I was half way through it.

Had the roast beef melt. Nicely made bread that had a nice crisp outside. Horseradish that tasted wonderful without overpowering the roast beef
