My first experience with Ed at Sac City Computer Hub was a couple years ago when I dropped my HP Envy laptop on its corner, damaging the power button and cracked the touchscreen. I figured it was totaled so I asked Ed to look at it and copy the data for me. I purchased a new laptop in the meantime because I use it professionally.I was impressed with his ability to patch it up and bring it back online. Since I had already purchased a replacement machine, I didnt spend the additional money on replacing the touchscreen. I had a large crack that didnt interfere visually, so I put the new laptop back in the box and have been using the beat up machine since!So now, two years later, the battery was failing, so I decided to go ahead and replace it and the screen. The plan was to give it to my daughter for school but after getting it back, I might be giving my daughter the new one, and I can keep my refurbished friend!It only took about a week to complete the repairs. The machine looks and functions like new and the price was reasonable. Most importantly is the service. Ed is professional, knowledgeable, straight-forward, and friendly! A 5-star experience, both times!

My computer went on the blink and I contacted a couple of repair services to ask for help, but Ed was the only one who returned my call. I told him what the problem was and he quickly told me that he was familiar with that particular error code. He then told me exactly what needed to be done and what the cost would be. I brought the desktop in that morning and Ed told me it would be ready the following day. However, later that same afternoon he called me to tell me he had completed the repair. Ed at Sac City Computer Hub is very knowledgeable about computers and its components. He answered all my questions prior to deciding which computer I wanted to purchase and I had a lot of questions. He does a great job of explaining what each component does and what you need depending on what the end user will be using it for. I bought a custom that he built but he also has used upgraded laptops and desktops as well. I recommend Ed at Sac City Computer Hub to anyone looking for computer service or in search for a used upgraded units or custom build computers.

It’s great to have a locally owned computer shop in this neighbourhood which I believe is always worth supporting- however the catch can often be higher prices than if you ordered online. You are paying for convenience and immediate need of what you are wanting.

I dont know a lot about computer hardware, so initially, I was worried about dropping my pc off somehwere to have someone I dont know fix it. I came across this store, and after seeing reviews from people talking about how great their experience was- my mind instantly at ease.I took in my computer because I thought there was an issue with the power source, but it turns out the problem was the motherboard. Came here last week to shop for a new computer before heading to Frys. Lets just say Im super happy that we stopped here first. He built a custom gaming computer for my budget with a small deposit. Asked Ed (the owner) lots of questions and answered them all with confidence. He said it will take about a week to build. He was done in 5 days! Before leaving his store to take my new baby home, he showed me my new computer while it was on. Man! I really dont know what else to say. Im just so happy! Sac City Computer Hub is a small shop with a huge heart, not only did the owner Mr.Barnes meet me and my family with warm greetings and charisma on the phone and in person He also showed the honed nature of his craft switching flawlessly between conversations with myself, a computer enthusiast and conversations with my grandmother who is completely computer illiterate. Not only did he answer our questions but he also managed to save Christmas finding us a great deal on a lower end desktop for mama and double checking to make sure we had the right plugs and adaptors, even going as far as to throw a VGA adaptor in the bag just to be safe. While he didnt have the exact laptop in stock I was looking for its clear Ed Barnes knows his stuff and is selling at very reasonable prices.From now on before checking newegg or amazon im going downtown to see what Ed thinks

Very rare commodity these days! Ed’s understanding and knowledge of computers helps keep older laptops and PCs running like new (or better!) when many would replace them with much more expensive and at times less effective newer models. This is both conservatiion and good old fashioned ingenuity at work...in an age of disposable products, Ed provides some common sense...he’s honest and smart...something that is hard to find in a business anymore!

I picked up a nice used Dell convertible notebook there and they gave me a good deal. Its refurbished, but looks close to new and so far works great. This model originally sold for $1,600 and isnt the latest, but still is plenty fast for everything but video editing or gaming. For $300 Im happy and will return.

I called Sac City Computer Hub today to get a quote about my laptop since Ive been having issues with it and the owner, Ed, answered the phone and was accommodating about what needed to be done. Ed was friendly and pragmatic about getting my laptop fixed right away. One of the best customer service I have ever dealt with during these strenuous times.

I came to see Ed yesterday because my custom built computer was making a really loud noise. In about an hour he had my computer all done and not only that, the terrible noise was completely gone. My computer now is silent as can be and I can record happily on YouTube with no loud noise humming in the background.***I also purchased a custom built gaming tower from him while I was getting my computer fixed. I took the NEW computer home with the intent of selling my old one but unfortunately it just wasnt operating the way I wanted it to. Long story short, his goal the entire time was CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. At the end of it all, he went above and beyond and showed professionalism while providing awesome customer service to a person like me whos far from being a computer wiz. I took a lot of his time but he was patient with me. Not only that, my gaming computer now wouldnt be running if it wasnt for his help the very first time I took in. Again, thanks Ed for the help!

The service was amazing. The store owner didnt try to direct me to anything I didnt want, and was very friendly and informative. The prices are decent as well, and hes got win7 on the shelves. Definitely will be coming back in the future I need to.

Sac City computer hub is the absolute bomb as far as taking care of my computers. I trust him and Ive sent my clients there for that reason. He just gets the job done!

I would not buy anything from this store.Especially since they do not Guarantee Anything.But Certainly Do NOT buy a refurbished computer from this shop.Initially I was sold a computer for about $350 which was not even powerful enough to surf the web. I was having problems with it from day one.I do not remember being told the computer was Refurbished.Personally I felt I was ripped off.Since I had already spent about $350; I returned the computer with the hopes of upgrading to a better computer.I ended up upgrading to what I was told would be a better computer for what I believe was an additional $350.This better computer has turned out to be a TOTAL lemon. Again, I was having problems from the beginning.After about 3 months the wireless modem went out.After 6 months the mouse pad started to freak out, and when I type the cursor tends to jump. And often I can not even Left click anything.Again, I feel I have been ripped off.Do NOT buy any computers, or supplies from this store.You are better off going to Best Buy, or Frys, the Prices are Far better, and you get a Warranty.

Best experience with two of my Mac Book Pros- was in and out same day with excellent communication on everything (including pricing) before, during, and after. Will hopefully not have to be back soon but when my computers inevitably need work again, I know this is my spot.

I was pleasantly surprised with this little gem-I had some issues with a laptop I had bought online, and he had it fixed in record time and was super lenient with the payment terms. I havent bought anything from them but I noticed a great selection of laptops for very reasonable prices. Now I refer them to everyone I know when they need anything computer related and will go to them myself from now on. It beat going to Frys anyday and that says a lot because I generally love Frys!

Worst computer place in Sacramento, I went there to spend 600 on a custom desktop and all he gave me is garbage parts. I had problems when I first got it(blue screen of death) I had to fix that no less then 2 years the mother board went out and the CPU. When I called the guy and told him about it he was VERY RUDE about it and very undermining me .I recommend NOBODY GOES HERE. Take your money somewhere else. Worst place.

This happened in August 2017, this is a worst palace to take your laptop get checked. This guy says he will check the laptop problem freely. Truth is he steals the RAMs from the laptops or replace with not working RAMs. My wife took her Sony vaio laptop to get checked. It has 4gb ram and 500gb hard disk. Problem with Sony vaio is screen back cover was broken. She went to replace it. Instead he said some noise coming and leave the laptop here so that he can check. Next day he called said its bad better to buy new laptop.After few days my Lenovo laptop got problem. It has 16gb RAM, and 1TB hard drive.Mother board not getting power. I went to him to replace mother board. He said leave it here and will check what exact problem is. I left my laptop with him without taking note of Ram and hard drive numbers. After few hours he told that it wont work get new laptop.I came home and opened my my laptop. I see that there was a 8gb Lenovo labeled ram and 4gb Samsung Ram. I called him next day told him what was missing. He calmly said he forgot and gave back Lenovo labeled 8gb ram.This seems fishy about my wifes Sony vaio laptop too. I opened it there is only 2gb ram instead of 4gb.Thought of going there to ask him to return RAM.Anyway,This is my sincere advice to people who were going to this place be careful with your laptop.There might be a chances of missing parts, rams or anything from your laptop.I usually dont write reviews. But, I hope my reviews at least helps others to get ripped from this place.This guy is not trust worthy. Please dont go.Waste of your time.

Great service! A little pricy but well worth it

I was totally scarred by previous under the table laptop repair…which is why I had to bring my Macbook to Sac City Computer Hub and I am SO glad I did! I got a free diagnostic on July 2, and was informed that my hard drive was crashing… the spinning beach ball of death had turned into the gray loading screen of death after I attempted to ignore it for months (-__-) … maybe years (?). Anyways, the NEXT afternoon my 2008 Titanium MacbookPro had a new HD, Lion OSx, and my precious information restored… all before the 4th of July... at an amazing value!! He could have easily upsold an external HD, but instead recommended Frys who was having a great sale and saved me even more money!!
