Pretty much everyone around knows about KP International Market in Rancho. Its huge, and very well known. However, its not the only option in the area. This little place is a gem, even if it looks like larger than normal, semi-shady liquor store, from the outside. This place really utilizes its space, and is better inside than it looks from the outside. Almost everything that I have ever needed or wanted from KP Market can be found here. There selection isnt as extensive, but its still pretty impressive. Ive been coming here about every two weeks to stock up on dried seaweed snacks, green tea, and snacks for my kids. Sometimes they even have Gimbap here, which is really good, and not too expensive.Only negative things I could say is that I wish the store was a little cleaner, and a little less cramped. However, its still a place I look forward to going to when I get paid, and it has a lot of interesting and unique items in it that Im at least mildly curious about trying. They even have a gift store connected to it that sells stuff like cookware, toiletries, sandals, and other things you cant find at mainstream department stores. Definitely worth a try if you dont feel like waiting in a long line or battling traffic over at KP Market.
This is it for Korean groceries. I think they are fresher than KP Marketplace as they are more narrowly focused on Korean goods rather than pan Asian. The banchan are tasty as well as the kim baby rolls. Fruits are fresh and there is an expansive selection Korean veggies. They have a satellite nearby on Folsom Boulevard that sells hot dishes as well. This place has stood the test of time.
This place is awesome. Huge selection of Korean goods and nice produce including melons and peaches out front. The variety of Korean goods here seems unmatched in the Sacramento area compared to anywhere else Ive found. The store is also more compact and efficiently laid out, making it a lot easier to shop at compared to big supermarkets. They do accept EBT as well.
A good place for Asian groceries. Its bigger on the inside. Good source for Korean foodstuffs
This store was awesome so many varieties of Ramen it was like I went to Ramen heaven.
If your looking for something different in an Asian market. This is the places. Friends of mine recommend this place over a year ago. Its a bit out of my way but if I am looking for something hard to find and I know KP or 99 Ranch isnt going to have it they will.
So many yummy snacks and a big variety of fresh kimchi!
Arguably the best Korean market in Sacramento. KP is bigger but Smile has tastier prepared side dishes and fresher, better fruit and vegetables.
A noodle lovers dream. And Curry Varieties galore. Many varieties of vegetable, Korean style. Bo koo drink varieties. Affordable
Nothing to complain really. Typical Korean market. Probably one of the best in the Sacramento area!
I love this store! The Employees are super friendly I dont speak Korean but they were able to understand me and help me find what I was looking for. My daughters and I love coming to this market.
If you want Korean food, this is the place to go. Wear a jacket because this place is cold.
Small store that has many items. Also premade items that are made fresh. I had chopchae today, was very good . They also have a housewares store right next door, that has many items to chose from . Prices seem to be pretry good too. Thos market was around many years before thw big asian markets opened. Easy freeway access. Pretty nice produce section for such a small store.
Love this place, like stepping foot into a market in Korea. Their homemade kimchi is the best I’ve had so far in the US.
All my favorite snacks are here 😊😊❤️❤️
The very best korean food market in entire Northern California. Prices are very reasonable as compared to all other korean market in entire Bay Area and their vegetables are the freshest. Plus wonderful and friendly owner and staff.
Big selection of snacks, ramen, cold beverages, groceries, veggies for a small market! Employees are nice and work efficiently!I visited on a Saturday and there were free covid tests being administered outside
Nice little place to do some quick shopping
Its a great customer service experience 👌.
It has everything I want, need and look for... I know you will love it too...m
We love this store and the people. They recently rearranged things, looks great! So clean and they have pretty much everything!
This is the best Korean grocery store in Sacramento. I was soooo looking for a decent Korean grocery store. They are not decent atmosphere but a lot of selection with decent price. I always buy rice pops, Kimbab $3, rice cakes($5-6 depends on what kind of rice cake) and bunch of grocery. If you need big spring onions, you have to check this store. They have it as $2 for reallly big one!
Great products
Good place!
Its a great customer service experience 👍.
Cool little spot with great prices
What an interesting Asian supermarket! So glad I finally stopped in here after driving by for years. A lot of Korean and Japanese items. The place is much larger than it seems from the outside. Organized (or not so organized) like many Asian markets, you could spend hours in here checking out all the different items they have. Prices seemed on par with Ranch 99..maybe a bit higher for some items. But Smile has so much stuff I havent seen before... definitely worth your time to check it out!
Will not be returning. I bought 15 items. I counted the items on the receipt and there were 17 items. I was charged for two items I never bought. And I didnt realize it until I got home, which I live 2 hrs away.
I was very impressed with the variety of items they had. Im looking forward to getting more treats next time.
Great produce to choose from at the market and a great assortment of cooking supplies at the store nextdoor. Super nice people too, and the market has a lot of imported drinks and snacks. Definitely my favorite store for this stuff 👍
The customers are rude. The clerks are nice and helpful to Americans. They have pretty much everything you need for Korean food.
Just your authentic Korean mart. Small and packed with everything
They sell treash
Rude and not helpful sad I used to go there a lot and loved but hopefully this is a one time incident
Nice people and good food 👍
This place had the one thing I was looking for, shrimp chips. And they are only 99 cents! Also, I have never seen so many types of rice grains ever. I think they have every kind of rice that exists. They have a lot in their store, I dont read the language all the packaging has, but they have so many versions of products, I think if I look hard enough, I could become part of the display. The one thing I did notice, despite all the products crammed into this tiny space, they take the time to mop the floors. Their floors are impeccable. They also have a lot of frozen seafood. And lots of greens that I didnt recognize. It was like you walk into the store, and you think you reached the back, but wait! Theres more!
If you are looking for Korean grocery food items, theres a very good chance Smile will have it. Its amazing how much they pack into a small area. Its no large Korean chain grocery, so dont expect the prices to be quite as cheap but its still very reasonable and the staff provide great service. There is also a pretty good Korean style home goods store next door. Highly recommended!
Lots of choice on noodle flavors.
Small Korean grocery store but they have a lot to offer. I like this place.
Quick and fast
This place has everything you need for your Asian goods! Pick up a freshly roll of kimbap if they are not already sold out!
Not big but fresh vegetables were were great.
Great customer service and helpful in picking out Korean spices and foods love this store ❤️
My go to place for korean food ingredients. So much product in a tiny space makes it a fast shopping experience in the early morning on my way to work.
Well stocked Korean grocer with most of the hard to find items all under one roof. Love the fresh sweet rice and daily bonchons available for a quick snack/meal. Also, the home/housewares next door is a nice extension of non grocery Korean items.
Great selection of different Asian foods. Tasty ready to eat packed foods made in store. Ive always loved to get my bulk rice here, lots of frozen fish. Anything Asian!!
Nice
Legit Korean grocessory store. A lot of cooked packaged foods, everything you need for Korean cooking is there even frozen spicy cake. The cashiers can speak Korean and English fluently.
I stumbled upon Smile Market as I like to call it when I had some errands to do in the area years ago.It has a little of everything for your Korean food cravings. They have warm food made daily that one can just pick up and take home to eat and they are quite tasty. You can tell it has been around a while as older people come to buy their necessities. There are groceries and other good things one may have on their list. The reason for the 3 stars is that the place could use a facelift/reorganization and although the staff are always nice to me, they can get short with other people.
Good selection and I was able to find some of my local favorites from Seoul.
Good place to pick up some Korean groceries. They have some ready made foods and kimchi there too. I like their jeon and fried tofu.
They have awesome food and nice customer service.
I can find about most Korean ingredients i need and something new to try here. Also a huge plus, its really convient. Not humongous so i am in n out.
I was in line for a long time. I sort of felt the lady was taking a long time on purpose. I noticed there was a guy leaning on the counter on his phone on the other side of the check stands but I assumed he wasnt a checker because he clearly saw me waiting in line and didnt acknowledge me. When an Asian woman came up behind me he set his phone down and told her to come around so he could check her out. I was very insulted. I will never shop there again.
I called Smile to make an arrangement for 12 pounds of Kal-Bi for a family Korean BBQ. I called on a Thursday for a Saturday morning pick up. I was nervous because I had to talk to multiple people because the employees couldn’t understand me (I spoke in English as my Korean is poor at best). Both workers had a hard time understanding me so I spoke very plain and slowly. I confirmed my order with both employees (Male and a Female).Saturday comes around and I find that the market did not have my order ready and even had the audacity to say that there was no call or order that was taken. I was furious and had to scramble to find a solution for the family BBQ. I definitely won’t go back again.
Amazing little mom and pop style Korean supermarket. All of their produce was very clean and fresh.
Best place to get authentic Korean ingredients for my meals. And great snacks for the kids
Good!😀
Their pre-prepared foods are fantastic!
Very good; they have everything what they have. Just all Korean foods.
Great little Korean grocery store. However not 5 star because a lot of their vegetables are packed with the good looking ones on top, with bad looking or inedible vegetables hidden underneath. When it happens every time it starts to become tiresome.
Everything is good except for the packaged produce. They hide all the spoiling pieces under the good looking ones.
I absolutely love, LOVE, LOOOOOOVE this market. Everyone who has helped me here has been incredibly friendly and goes out of their way to help me find what I need. The store looks small at first but theres even more foodstuffs hidden in the back if you continue past all the aisles. Their freshly prepared foods are wonderful and so is their selection of ingredients.I cook Korean food all the time at home and also recently came back from a trip from Seoul, South Korea and can find pretty much anything in this market. Dont bother going to Koreana Plaza where theyre incredibly rude. Go to Smile instead!
What a wonderful store!I was craving Korean goodies so drove out to Smile to feed my cravings. It was my first time so I didn’t know what to expect. Don’t let the size fool you. I walked in thinking the store was small, but it was a bit like a rabbit warren with aisles magically appearing and shelves filled to the brim with a wide variety of foods and brands. I found everything I needed, and the prices seemed low and reasonable. I found a ton of stuff including mandu (dumplings), bulgogi meat, pork belly, vegetables, bean paste and the perfect sized jar of kimchi all for about $100.The store owners were super friendly and helpful. They were excited to hear I had found them and it was my first time and they gifted me with a calendar and a pack of rice cakes (which were delicious and I enjoyed immensely with my coffee the last couple of days). The best part of Smile is the nostalgia and true Korean feel of the store and it’s friendly owners. It is charmingly cluttered because it has so much to offer, and it highlights the most popular items a Korean family or any lover of Korean food can want. I saw many regulars come by and everyone was greeted with a cheerful hello. A true mom and pop shop, it’s a place I will definitely return to for my Korean groceries. They have a parking lot which is great and is located easily off the freeway.
Their sesame balls were stale, and I dont mean just a little. They were rock solid. I couldnt even break them with my hands oet alone my teeth. Makes me wonder how long theyve been out... its a shame, really. I came a couple times before and had their sesame balls and they were absolutely delicious. Idk what happened
Has a good selection despite its tiny location.
Awesome sauce! For your Korean (and not so Korean) shopping needs!
Small grocery store but has a lot of options for korean groceries, even prepared hot foods and snacks. The price is fair, comparable to the other korean groceries.
The kimchi croquettes are amazing!
Good vitamines and groceries.....
I mist admit best selection!!! If you cant find it at KP International, youll find it here. And the home goods section next door is the best!!!!
Fun and lively asian market with plenty of ethnic goods. Not very ADA accessible because of narrow aisles. However, well worth exploring for an asian inspired meal!
Nice Korean market!
My new tower and internet speed connection strength is worse now
Great place to find good Korean and Japanese food. The people that work there are helpful at helping you find something.
This is a great place to get my favorites like Pocky, Hello Panda, and Ramune soda. ❤ Everyone is so nice here, so I really enjoy shopping here.
Very good selection, good prices, and friendly people. I love this store!
Great! love this place for years best little store!
This is your typical ma and pa Korean grocery store. If you lived any length of time in Korea, youll know exactly what Im talking about. Get your kimchee fix here by the gallon (literally).
This is a great lil Korean market. coming from LA, I found it a bit depressing as to the Korean food options in this city. This place, although small, was authentic enough to suit my needs.
If you are an Asian you most likely woul like it. Its very much like the little neighborhood grocery store that you would see in your own country.
Its a nice little store it has so many ingredients and the ice cream they sell is so good I recommend it.
Nice store to get some korean groceries. It looks kind of small on the outside but is pretty big inside! Lots of things to chose from, and they even have Jeju mandarin juice and Jeju water! Yeah!
Always have fun and adventure when I go to Smile market. Store is always stuffed with product, fresh food, and vegetables.
Great selection for a little store in Sacramento 👍
Big selection in a small place. Prices are pretty good too.
Good Price and fresh vegetables.
Nice little Korean grocery store
Yes, one good place to grab snacks, but best on October for jujube fruit.
Awesome little Korean grocery store. KP can be overwhelming. Smile is the alternative.
Good.
This store has food treasures galore. From the snacks to the meats, its jammed packed to the core with asian foods to please all. If you want to try something new please visit Smile Food Market.
