This store seems to be going downhill not as clean & organized as before. People are allowed in with out masks ... Not good. The employees for the most part are great. But somethings up and I cant quite put my finger on it ... Maybe COVID fatigue which I do understand. Hopefully things will get better down the road for us all. Ill still be their customer for now :-)

I simply love this Safeway location, the selection they provide, they always have everything that I need and more. The staff & workers here are also very friendly and know how to help you to the best extent. Great store overall, definitely my go-to place for almost everything!

Glad this store is close to us midtowners.. They could be doing a better job with the homeless situation, but it is what it is.. The sandwiches in the Deli are one of the BEST in Sacramento! Hands down way better than subway!

Sacramentos largest Safeway, this location offers a selection that most others cannot. Its located near a lot of other shops in the R Street Market and Ice Blocks area, making it supremely convenient if youre in a rush. Many of the parking spots have been converted to employee-only, so good luck finding a spot during peak times.

This store location is convenient and centrally located making it probably the most go-to supermarket location in Midtown. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the store is close to many other amenities. Unfortunately the place is frequently understaffed and its not unusual for them to only have 1-2 registers open when the store is packed. Ive had to wait as long as 15 minutes to get through. The parking lot can get pretty crowded and a lot of people like to loiter outside the store. Its not bad, especially if youre in Midtown but if you are driving to or from work outside of midtown, its probably best to just stop at a supermarket elsewhere.

Great experience. I walked to the checkout line and told the checker I wasnt able to find a product I wanted to try. He listened to my description, then excused himself and went to find it. He returned about a minute later with two versions of the product which I was happy to purchase. Very impressed. This was the 16th Street Safeway.

Open late (used to be 24 hours, but now I believe they close at 2 am). They are well stocked, friendly staff, and follow mask protocols. I mainly use them for the pharmacy, which has very helpful staff members and usually fill prescriptions extremely quickly. Best time for picking up prescriptions is early morning or in the evenings, since they usually only have 2 people working at a time, meaning each patient takes around 5 minutes on average.I had to deduct a star because the parking lot situation is a pain to deal with. Not enough spaces and a really poor design for entering and exiting, as well as limited street parking.All in all, a pretty good store and central to a large area of midtown, so you can expect it to be busy.

I have been a customer to this store for a long time back when it was 24 hours. I like how this store is always clean with a friendly staff. It is convenient to shop here because of its location and the hours it is open.

Found everything I needed, I probably could have got more what kind of in a slow hurry . Employee working the checks stand was so funny made me laugh. After all the beautiful Safeway

This store has been my go to store for the past three years. I like their Deli and always has good smelling food, so dont go hungry there. Typically they are stocked up but their meat department is not up to bar. Most other stores have more and better selection of meat. Staff overall are helpful and friendly. I was surprised midday today with a store manager screaming at a customer and it is a turn off specially if you have kids with you. Definitely this manager does not belong to Safeway or any store for that. The store deserves 4 or 4.5 starts if not for this incident.

Every other store in Sacramento have the same quality products and sometimes better or even cheaper than this store. As long you dont need anything from this store staff or managers, you should be fine. This store does not rise to the level of a neighborhood store. Try to get a cross one of their managers like Ryan, and this store will not show on you radar again. I prefer to drive 10 blocks away to Alhambra Blvd Safeway. The staff there are stable normal employees. I understand it is hard to get good employees at this tough time, but this Store broke record.

Safeway grocery stores are awesome. I like their gluten free section. For some reason though, this last time I went, their steak selection was really low. I settled for some New York steaks thinly cut. There was not one rib eye. They couldve just been low inventory that day. Otherwise, their flower selection is awesome. You can build yourself a great bouquet with relatively low cost.

Not disabled friendly. The disabled shopping cart apparently didnt allow us to take it out to the car. Which was fine but none of the staff offered to help my husband while he tried reversing the cart into the store and they just looked at him with no offer to help. He had to ASK them for help and all they said was you need to put it somewhere else. No help at all.

I love this store I like most of the people there are pretty helpful, except for the one lady yet stocks to Short dark headed lady,When I asked her for help I could tell she gets frustrated like Im taking time fm her!🤨 and then she doesnt take me over there to show me she just points everybody else is helpful!💕⭐⭐⭐⭐V clean

This Safeway in midtown is the happening place at midnight. Lots of college kids. It is always well stocked but the staff could use an attitude adjustment. They are not very customer friendly. That alone detracted from the stars...parking is usually good, lots of spaces.

That s location is always extremely clean. All the groceries are stocked in places that actually make sense and makes finding what you need easy. This location also had a Starbucks inside it. If you want to get a cold sandwich from the deli you can pay with food stamps. You can also pay with food stamps at the Starbucks here! The customer service is great and they make you feel like a valued customer. This is a great place to shop if you want to find value and be treated with respect as a customer.

Nice location in the heart of downtown. I dont think Ive ever had to wait in line more then a couple minutes. Surrounding area has all kinds of shops, restaurants, everything you need.

This Safeway is pretty big but the parking lot is pretty small. Parking can be an issue on weekends in the middle of the day. The selection is good and I rarely have an issue with items being out of stock. Every so often a security guard has to escort someone out of the store but for the most part I feel safe. Oh, and the man at the meat department was really helpful.

I love Safeway stores. More than any other store out there I value Safeway the most. The security guard at night is always friendly as well as the cashiers. They are pretty fair on prices of food and I always have alot of rewards.

This is one of my favorite Safeway locations. I came in to pick up a cake and few other items to appease my occasional sweet tooth. I was in and out of the store in no time.This store is always pretty clean and well stocked. The employees are pleasant and eager to assist you with your needs.

Easy in and out visits (especially if you are on foot). They are always well stocked in the fresh fruit and veggies. I normally get my plantains and hatch chili’s here.Good selection of frozen items as well — hello ginos East pizza

Safeway is quite fully stocked and they have a decent amount of people that work for them and are quite helpful as well and its in a wonderful location

Although this Safeway location has a very wide selection of products compared to some of the other local Safeways, this store only gets three stars because it is tragically misorganized and the setup is extremely inconvenient. Being a Shipt Shopper, I am timed and trying to find my way around this store was very stressful, they have many items split up across the store literally the Dairy is so spread out across the store that there is literally three different areas all on opposite sides of the store and this is a large store. It just really seems that when whoever was in charge of setting up the details of the store it seems as if they really did not have the shoppers in mind or convenience in mind at all not sure if maybe that just happened over time that things got a little mixed up in in disarray but it definitely needs an overhaul drastically, so Safeway if youre looking for anybody to help out with the rearranging your store let me know. :-) but other than the disarray of the organization the employees were wonderful very helpful and very patients and kind to a new Shipt Shopper.

A larger safeway than others Ive shopped in. Never had an out of stock problem, with exception of vendor stocking, or rotisserie chicken. Offer WF banking and Starbucks and GAS station.

Just a grocery store only good thing is when they have their vegetable specials in the front when you walk in the door

Customer service was bad. My first time there. Trying to use the kiosk DMV machine and didnt understand it. I ask for help. A lady who worked there came by and looked at it and walk away. I had to figure it out by myself. But I know not to ever shop there.

Decent location, but always packed. Parking can be a challenge if youre not there early or late at night. I typically prefer other Safeway locations as it seems this one is a bit smaller and not always well stocked.

My overall experience at Safeway was great. I was able to find everything I needed. They are always most stocked on merchandise which is a good like meats,vegetables,drinks and pretty much everything you can thing of. The only reason I gave it four stars was because of the lack in open checkout stands that were open especially for a Friday but hey still a great place.

Depending on the time you go will depend on whether you get short or long lines. They have a really good meat dept, a really good produce dept, bakery and alcohol dept. Theres a Starbucks and a deli. The prices are a little more but you get better quality.

Here I am,, leaving Safeway with a BIG smile one my mug. I again shopped the deals Just For You and using my Safeway Card, I had a $197.00 total and had a whopping $93.00 taken off !!! ( which also included a 21 #, $43.00 Fresh Turkey, which cost me $8.99 ). Shop Smart ! You will Save ! Its the middle of November and this year I have now received $940.00 back in Savings !!! 2020 has been a tough one for our world, I feel good about saving for myself which allows me to help others in my life who havent been so fortunate. A year or two ago I probably would have only given this store a three stat rating at best mainly due to a few employees that were absolutely awful to deal with every single time that I encountered them, thankfully they are gone now and I can give this store the 5 star rating it deserves. Everything about this store makes for a pleasant shopping experience. Employees are helpful and polite, the store is well maintained, and tbe store draws in an easy going crowd. Definitely my go to grocery store for all of my shopping needs.

Not too busy considering that its Valentines Day! Lots of men were in the store buying flowers, candy, stuffed animals and balloons for some very lucky women. If my husband hadnt passed away recently he would be one of the men in the floral department!

Sometimes I want to work here, in the bakery, just so that there are decent donuts. Over-spinkled, too much glaze, for some reason the filled donuts are top-loaded instead of side, as they should be. On occasion, rarely, the donuts appease me.I have very few vices, and donuts are one.

Parking here is always a beast. The recent state of affairs has slightly alleviated it but assume that will be over before too much longer. The store is perfectly average.

Fairly big Safeway. It was pretty big and all of the staff were very friendly.

Its a grocery store. Safeways are always more expensive than other restaurants so shop around for other places in the area if you want to save a little more but you do get higher quality products and a broader selection here. They tend not to run out of things even in these times and the staff are always helpful..
