Terrible service and questionable knowledge. One of the least friendliest places Ive visited. First appointment was underwhelming but whatever. Second appointment was scheduled with complete availability, they chose the date and time. About a week later they called to change it. The doctor was planning a long weekend. Then received a reminder for the appointment confirming the original date. Confused I called to clarify but impossible to get someone on the phone without an ext number. Time passes and i receive a call a couple days before my appointment from some lady sternly lecturing me on how valuable their time is and she gonna have to let me know when theres an open slot to reschedule. SEVEN months later I get another call asking if I still need the surgery that my Primary determined was the highest non-emergency priority referral. I said yes and was told Id receive a call. Two weeks later I call again. She promised I would hear from them by the end of the week. That Thursday a certified letter of dismissal arrives citing that I havent followed medical recommendations, of which there were none. Throughout this ordeal I was extremely polite and patient. There was no confrontation or anger on my part at all. Complete waste of almost a year! Silly me, I thought Doctors treated illness. I know better now.

Had appt scheduled for June 7th. Sac ENT waited until June 6th to inform me they had to reschedule due to conflict with my insurance...ok...annoying but forgivable. Rescheduled me for July 6th at Roseville location at 7:30am. I showed up at 7:30, waited until 8:00am before the office even opened, then was informed my appt was actually at different Roseville location a few minutes away....fine I said. Drive to second Roseville location where I was told my appt was actually at Sacramento location...30min away. Oh and Dr is booked for rest of the month of July. In short I had to cancel my appt all together a will not be working with Sac ENT ever again...competely incompetent business. Thank you for wasting my time again.

Typical Walmart type medical.. driven by external diagnostics and paper thin analysis (Google and get better results). If they dont know what is wrong with you at the first visit.. they will not try to figure it out. They lean heavily on your primary care physician so you better have a good one. No depth. In and out in 20 minutes. Want to feel better? Instead of entrusting your body to this place, take your car to a car-wash.

In March, 2020, I was referred to Sac ENT (Exposition Blvd.) for treatment of a severe case of sleep apnea. I was never contacted by Sac ENT to set up an appointment. In July, 2020, my primary care physician re-referred me to Sac ENT. It took an extra call from the physicians office to get me an appointment. When I finally got in to see a MD I was told that despite the fact that I had already had two sleep studies, that a 3rd sleep study was necessary before treatment. I was told that they would schedule this 3rd sleep study and I would be contacted. After waiting for weeks to be contacted I tried twice to reach out to the assistant (Patty Gutierrez) with whom I had been instructed to work. I have received no return call. My primary care physician has tried twice and was finally told that they have nothing on their task list for me. I finally tried to reach out to the Office Manager Tia Costanas. All I get is her voice mail and no return call. Do you people have something against me personally, or are you this blatantly incompetent with all the patients under your care?

They also do not use Pediatric Board-Certified Anesthesiologist, and they will not answer you when you ask if they do. When you call Nikki to discuss she will not return your call. The Office Manager Tiffany will also not return your call. The office does not communicate with each other or clean the office. The only reason Im giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because Dr. Benscoter and his staff were great and I have no complaints about him or his staff. The issue I have is with SacENT itself. I dont know why Sacramento ENT seems to have a monopoly on ENT facilities in the area because it seems every ENT specialist works through this place. Nobody ever answers their phone here and it usually takes a couple days before anyone calls you back. They misspelled my last name which caused a bunch of confusion when it came to staff trying to find my appointment once I showed up.... my last name is not difficult either. Staff on the phone are often very brash and rude. I wish ENT specialists in Sacramento broke out into their own separate clinics so people wouldnt be forced to go to only one available place.

If I could give this place negative stars I would!! My 2 year old son was referred here because perforated his ear drum in 2017. They were booked months out. I understand it gets busy. When it got closer to his appointment, they called to reschedule because whoever he was supposed to see would be out on vacation. That was fine with me. Life happens. When the rescheduled appointment (which was a whole month later) was coming up, they called to cancel again. I was a little irritated, but I understand things happen. We rescheduled again. Fast forward to the morning of his third appointment. I received a voicemail saying that his appointment is cancelled because the provider is out, yet again? Does she even work? This is ridiculous. I call to reschedule, and the customer service representative asks to put me on hold while she checks on my son’s account. She transferred me Sylvia’s voicemail. I don’t know who Sylvia is. I never asked for Sylvia’s voicemail. I had to call back because I DID NOT ask to be transferred to Sylvia. I call back again and receive a different CSR who tried to put me on hold and I told her I was tired of this horrible customer service. I said I needed to talk to someone now! She told me someone is before me. I was livid at this point! I told her I don’t care, I needed to talk to someone. I think I’ve been pretty patient, given the fact that I’ve been waiting for 6 months for my son to be seen due to all the cancellations from this HORRIBLE office!! Anyways, she hung up on me. I called back and guess what? I only was transferred to their voicemail system. Do not go here. Do not get services here. THEY ARE BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL AND SHOULD HE OUT OF BUSINESS!!!

Our 20 mo son had a referral appt to be seen due to his frequent ear infections the past year. His appt was scheduled for 10:45 am and told to arrive at least 30 mins early to complete paperwork. My wife took the morning off from work to take him to his appt and between traffic on Howe/Arden and trying to find the office complex, she arrived at 10:20 am and was refused to be seen because of being 5 mins late to complete paperwork. Keep in mind his actual appointment was at 10:45 and there was still 25 mins before the appointment. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and the main reason I am putting 1 star down is because the system doesnt allow me to do less than that. Dr. McKennan’s explanation of the problem, the details of the required surgery and the expectations for the healing process were clear, concise and related in a manner that was very easy for a non-medical professional to understand. Do not see Dr Areen! If you get placed with that doctor ask to be transferred. Im not the only one to have issues with him being dismissive and rude to patients.I went to Sac ENT in hopes that they could figure out what was causing my vertigo. Is it an inner ear problem or something else? At my first visit, after waiting over 2 hours, Dr Areen said that I probably have BPPV and that it patients usually start feeling better within 6 weeks. Thats a lot of probably and maybes. He said there is nothing that they can do, no medicine or ear drops that help, and it will just get better on its own.The second visit I came in because I had pain and pressure in my ears. I was getting worse and unable to walk without falling down, even to get to the bathroom to pee. The vertigo and disequilibrium had gotten worse. The ear pain and sensitivity to sound was intense. He said Stop using foam ear plugs because they are probably irritating your ears and rinse your ears out with vinegar. I kept pushing insistent that there is something wrong. This is not something to brush off, I could have gotten rinse your ears out with vinegar advice off of google.I was perfectly healthy before this happened, I was biking to work and everything. Im only 25 years old, Im too young to be this this sick for no reason. He recommended that I do VNG testing to track my vision with the dizziness. The test results came back inconclusive. It didnt make a difference what position they put me in. My eye movements werent erratic. Which is what I had been saying. That I still have vertigo even when laying down and it doesnt matter what position I am in.I wrote down a comprehensive history of every symptom that occored and when it occurred so that way we could solve it, like a puzzle. He wouldnt even look at it. I was trying to tell him I got worse without any medicine (you have to have no medicine in your system for VNG testing) and that I couldnt walk and my ears were ringing so loudly I couldnt sleep. He kept cutting me off. He wouldnt let me talk or get a word in edgewise. He decided that since the test didnt indicate something wrong with my inner ear that I must be making it up or something. Maybe he thought I was looking for drugs. Maybe he was prejudice against me for my insurance. Who knows. But this guy is a jackass.I made a formal complaint with his supervisor, but we all know that never does anything.***UPDATE I have been diagnosed with migrainous dizziness or Vestibular Migraine, or Migraine Associated Disorder, MAV for short. UC Davis ENT on Stockton Blv was able to figure it out within 10 minutes my first visit. It has symptoms almost identical to Menieres Disease, which interestingly enough Sac ENT should know a thing or two about since they were supposed to be doing a study. Like looking at the difference between a Monarch butterfly and a Viceroy butterfly which only copied its poisonous counterpart. It is the first thing that pops up when you google it. This doctor failed me in every way possible, wasted my time, and didnt recognize what was right in front of him. I recommend to my general practitioner send her business elsewhere. I highly recommend UC Davis ENT, Dr Oh was kind, listened to me, respected what I had to say about how I felt as a patient, and they actually know what they are doing.

Saw Dr. Areen in late June for two enlarged submandibular lymph nodes. Also has several small new lymph nodes all around base of neck. I have Lyme Disease and was on a long list of supplements (not conventional allopathic medicine stuff) from my Lyme doctor. For whatever reason, he said the first lymph node was my salivary gland, being irritated and dried out by one of my supplements. Said he could not even feel the second enlarged lymph node, and was not worried by the other lymph nodes further down.I left feeling relief and went into denial for awhile longer. Then, as more and more nodes came up, I was worried I would end up with another unhelpful doc. Finally saw a great ENT in Truckee in early September, had CAT scan immediately, and lymph node biopsy. Entered UCD MC on October 7 for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I was quite debilitated by then.I know everyone misses things at times, but I feel he was either prejudiced against my supplements or my (controversial to allopaths) diagnosis of Lyme Disease, and he just wanted me out of there.
