On Saturday 5-11-2019 I brought my whole welding setup to the Barnes Welding Supply outlet on Power Inn Rd in Sacramento. The day before I had tried to use the welder for the first time in over five years. The wire jammed up at the tip of the gun and inside of the cabinet. What little I know about welding I learned in a nighttime hobby auto body class at the local vocational technical school. I was really lucky to get a Barnes employee named Tim to help me out. He took apart the hose and trigger mechanism and cleared out the jam. He told me to buy another wire spool as mine had gotten some contamination on it due to sitting so long in the garage. He put it all back together for me, explaining what he was doing as he went. I am trying to put a dual exhaust system on my 1965 Mustang. Tim suggested I might buy a gadget for the ground clamp that attaches to the exhaust pipes via a heavy magnet. It has a large knob on top that turns the magnet on and off. This worked really slick. I was able to to lay down some nice clean welds. My thanks go out to Tim for taking ten or so minutes to help me out. This was my second time as a customer at Barnes and both times I received outstanding customer service.

Homeowner, welding amateur, just getting started. Needed an Argon tank, they had it. And best of all, they are open Saturdays. I didnt have to set up an account or leave a huge deposit with them. They asked my name address phone number and that was it. I didnt have a tank to trade in or anything so I had to pay for the cylinder but 75/25 mix was like 30 bucks for 70 cuft and I can just exchange the tank going forward. They have bigger and smaller sizes too to fit your needs. I will definitely make this my first stop for welding supplies in the future.

I had a odd use case for compressed CO2 - A commercial T-Shirt cannon (like they use at sports games, etc) that had a non-standard tank fitting and a long-expired canister. The staff at Barnes helped me both over the phone and in person to find a solution. I ended up needing to find a specialist for my particular problem, but they went out of their way to explain the issue (expired cylinder that had a non-standard fitting, so they couldnt fill or replace it), they proposed a solution (Modification to the cannon to accept a standard paintball marker CO2 Cylinder, which they sell and re-fill), and they helped me find a local company that could provide the parts and do the retrofit service same-day. Ill definitely come back when I need to re-fill my new safety-approved C02 canister on my newly upgraded cannon - they do C02 refills at a really affordable price. Thanks for your help!

This place is really clean and have a huge selection of welding supplies. I bought Welding Wire to make battery cables and the one guy that help me was pretty rude to me a first and kinda warmed up to me later but there is a thinner guy that wear glasses he is super friendly and goes out of his way to help.If it wasnt for the poor customer service I would rate this place a 5 stars.

Hands down the best place to get dry ice... I was going thru capital dry ice but there not very good at keeping it in stock.... but these guys always come thru... thanks again @barns welding supply also they do phone sales for me when I am out of town and have my co worker come and pick up ice... a big plus
