Aug 2014, walk-in to the counter, needed help ordering multiple parts for a jr high school project. Kind of knew what I needed, the staff was able to fill in the blanks and get me the right parts at the right price. They were extremely helpful and patient with me, phones were ringing off the hook but they stuck right with me. Customer service and product knowledge is off the charts. Small or big customers... Talk about the dumbing of America!I went in to purchase an o-ring and found out they had to order it. A senior desk person measured it and I came back the next day to be met by a young desk jockey who flipped the package on the counter, walking away to do the paper-work. My ring was about 3.5 and in o-rings in the pack were 12s. Just a tad off.He immediately goes into a rant how every time they order o-rings, this happens. I asked him if he ever looked into why that is? He just shook his head.I asked to see the measuring tool. By this time the senior desk person shows up and as I looked at the measuring device, immediately saw how they were reading they incorrect numbers. I asked how long they had been using the device for measuring and was told 20+ years. I was dumb-founded.So here we go again...I come back the next day and low and behold, they were correct and only because the measuring tool was used correctly. Geeez!...this isnt rocket science. This tool is like a sliding ruler that measures different length o-rings. I figured it out in less than 60 seconds for cripe sakes!I asked the young sparky if he was shown how to use the measuring device correctly. He wasnt interested and stated that he sends people to their competitors and that how they are going to start refusing to order o-rings and how all the other MI stores feel the same...ya right...like he took an o-ring survey.Then the cream of the transaction was the small charge of $2.19. I gave him $5.20 and received back $3.18. Nice math kid...go back to school.
