I ordered the Double Espresso Shake and a Breakfast Bruschetta. It was absolutely delicious. The sandwich was made 100% fresh and the service was prompt and friendly. Definitely stop by here. Go out of your way if you have to. Its so good.

Wife, myself and our German Shepherd Dog Max made the long drive from High Point to Mean Mug again for lunch. Sandwiches and coffee were great like always and the staff even prepared a dish for our GSD Max. Great service & food that will not disappoint. See you next time...

Great place for coffee! There is lots of seating and some unique drinks, including a cheerwine latte I was too afraid to try! The barista was really nice and quick to make my order. A great place to stop if you’re walking around downtown Salisbury or driving through.

We found this jewel on our way through NC using the Google search along route option. The food was delicious and the coffee was so good I had to buy a mean mug. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was small but very warm. It was easy to find Im parking right out front even though it was in a downtown area.

Really enjoyed Mean Mug. My first time experience was very good. The people that work there are very friendly. Good place to come and chill. There was a wide range of ice, hot and smoothies to select from!

This place was AMAZING! We are from out of state and this is a place we will for sure come back to. The service was amazing. The food/drinks were phenomenal! 10/10, I 100% recommend.

Mean Mug has the best coffee! From their Lilas Rain to their specialty drinks like their White Mocha or Dirty Chai. In addition, they have a great food menu. It has an amazing, warm and inviting atmosphere. You cant go wrong..everyone is welcome.

Im not giving a 1 star review out of respect for the fact that I never got to try any beverage or food.I walked in and within 2 minutes of standing in the short line Id seen so many errors, poor customer service, unfulfilled online orders, etc, I made the wise decision to turn around and leave.I dont know why anyone would visit here when you can walk down the hill and go elsewhere.EDIT: In reply to the owner response:I thought through my review for hours before posting, edited it numerous times and gave a 2 star review instead of the 1 star I was initially inclined to all in the interest of being as fair but honest as possible.As a business owner myself, I value critical reviews as one of my best tools for growth. This was a great find in Salisbury. Best refried black beans I have ever had. My breakfast was fabulous with the black beans imported from Guatemala. The coffee was unique and excellent. I took pastries home for breakfast the next day for the family and they were great. It was sad that such an exceptional restaurant was not jammed with locals but it was not.

Coffee trailer, whatever, was an hour late. Was supposed to have muffins, pastries. Brought nothing! 3 people in the vehicle. Im guessing none had cell phones, gps, or map, or how to read any. Not good business! Disappointed.

Drove from Concord to check this place after finding great reviews. Please do yourself a favor and visit this gem of a local coffee shop in the center of beautiful downtown Salisbury. Very relaxing atmosphere. Great coffee from Magnolia Coffee (out of Charlotte). Barista was exceptionally friendly gentleman. Sit out front on the street and watch the town.

Not only are the coffee/tea drinks here outstanding (and free trade/organic), but the menu is way YUM! Here is where you will find the best chicken salad in the County! AND...Mean Mug is the only place in town supporting live music consistently every Fri & Sun, while hosting many, MANY other events throughout the week. And the best community-forward thing yet is the shops support of the S.O.A.R. program, giving these folks an opportunity for gainful interaction and purpose in the community. If there were more than 5 stars, Mean Mug would get them all!

I am fairly new to this area. I started hosting open mic monthly here this past June, and I come almost every week since I found it in May. The talent and supportive atmosphere is amazing, one of my favorite open mic experiences I’ve personally ever participated in! As disabled veteran, they are so very accommodating for me to the extent I even wrote a song in Nashville inspired by all the caring friends I have made here. Although it attracts all skill levels like open mics ‘should’ do, the majority of regulars attendees are local professional singer/musicians with a diverse range of genres and ages. We use these open mics to share our songs for each other, and often with each other. It’s also a child friendly atmosphere, for our youngest performer is a ten year old little girl on her guitar and singing. So please come hang out with what ever genre you enjoy to play, or come support Salisbury’s local talent! Especially come support the Mean Mug for all they do for the disabled and musical community in general! Great coffee and food served with kindness! They were interviewed by the local tv station for employing people with disabilities, there is no kinder heart than that.

The food and drinks are fine. The atmosphere has much to be desired, especially on open mic night. If they are going to advertise this event to the public, they need to welcome everyone, not just their good ol boy friends. Still a bit small town feel and very unprofessional in the way they handle the music venues. Thats why I went there, for the music, even Sundays are disappointing too many times for me to go back. I will search for a more professional place that has their act together and welcomes allAs for the reply from owner: sounds like you are more interested in your reviews than the healthy criticism.

Great local coffee shop. Fun decor and friendly staff. Getting coffee here was quick and reasonably priced. Staff was very friendly. Good spot to get connected with local events. Outdoor patio is a good spot for relaxing with your drink and enjoying a little people watching.

Busy night as is was Black Friday, but apparently they didnt plan for the crowd as their were only two employees working a line almost out the door. Didnt take too long to get our drinks but some other people waited much longer. They were heating up a muffin for us but totally forgot to bring it out. Always fun to hear the performers on open mic nights.

Lowest Price of the coffee was high. Pastry $3.50 for dry Orange Cake. They have A mentally disadvantaged working today. That is highly admirable. Great they hire them. Today, thanked me for my military service and later thanked the customers for buying a coffee. Humbling

This was my second trip to this location, I like how they are involved with the community but I have to say it was the worst Carmel machiato Ive ever had.

The Golden latte served on the menu here is amazing! The flavor of turmeric, honey, milk and espresso are beautifully blended so as to give you a unique coffee experience! I highly recommend it!

Mrs Medina is always pleasant, and knows her coffee. I love Mean Mug. They are a real asset to the community with the SOAR program, the coffee is excellent, and the prices are reasonable.

Not only do they have a wonderful menu, but they have so many cool events going on! There’s always something to do which is nice in a small town like Salisbury where you can easily get bored. Mean Mug cures that boredom bug! Open Mic night is my favorite. There’s nothing more heart warming than watching the local community come together like a family every Friday. They are so welcoming to new performers and they support the ones that come every week as if it’s their first time. Thank you Mean Mug for giving me a home away from home! P.S. The chicken salad sandwich and hibiscus tea are MUST haves!

Visited this shop and had their hibiscus tea - very good. The folks hanging out there weren’t openly friendly. So don’t go there for that. I enjoyed reading my book and drinking my tea in peace.

I love this place. Ive yet to have a bad experience and the owner is always friendly and happy to chat. While Friday nights is the best time to hear local music, its often that one will walk in and someone will be strumming away. Most importantly, their food and drinks are very good!

Service was great. I just hate to purchase a 20 ounce and get 14 ounces of actual coffee. My cappuccino was just that. Please fill up the cup!

The place is clean and cool with friendly staff. I got a hot Chai Latte, and it was just right! I also came to see if they made the hot cocoa or if it was made from a bag, and they confirmed it was the latter. I didnt ask which brand, though. Prices are what Id expect from a coffee cafe.

The coffee here is amazing. If you are a cheerwine fan then I would recommend trying the cheerwine mocha or latte. It is clean and the staff are friendly. Mean Mug employs folks with disabilities and is also very active in the community. Only four stars due to location, if you dont work or live downtown it is just not convenient without a drive-thru

Great coffee and atmosphere. They also offer beer and wine choices. If you ride a bike, there is on little hitching post but most people just lock their bikes to the railing on the patio.
