We built a large custom home, and our builder recommended Craftsman Kitchens from the beginning. We are extremely happy. They were involved in every step, from early design concepts, layout, and materials selection, through coordination with our appliances supplier and interior designer.When budget became an unexpected constraint, they were extremely cooperative in helping us find the best places to save and cut back (even areas to put off for a later date) without sacrificing quality or having to give up the essence of our vision.Our cabinets are BEAUTIFUL and extremely well built. They are also extremely well installed. The doors are straight; the hinges are rock-solid; the covers over our appliances fit perfectly; and the finishes have been very durable through lots of abuse from our many young, wild kids.A few highlights of our interactions: Even though wed already hired our own interior designer, Craftsman Kitchens provided their own design services at no additional charge. They drafted numerous iterations of the plans (Im talking like 15 versions or more) with every level of detail required for final production. Although we got some high-level design input from our interior designer, ultimately we could have done the whole cabinetry design with just the designer that Craftsman Kitchens gave us.We loved our cabinetry designer. He became somewhat of a friend over the course of our project, providing a great deal of strategic input regarding things like kitchen flow, pantry design for maximum storage optimization, and appliance layout for best access by both foodie mom and dad and everyday use by the kids. Our kitchen layout works really well for us, and we couldnt have designed the layout on our own or even with our professional interior designer.The cosmetic design of our cabinets was unique to our project, so Craftsman Kitchens produced special mockups using the exact wood, milling patterns, paints, stains, and sealants of the various components so that we could be certain wed love the final product. It made a big difference knowing ahead of time exactly what everything would look like. It felt special that nobody else (to that point, anyway) had cabinetry exactly like ours.With all of this special treatment, we feel that the cabinetry we got came at a tremendous value. It wasnt the least expensive stuff like what we could have gotten through a big-box retailer, but even our interior designer commented multiple times that our final pricing was far lower than what he would have expected.
