Delicious bagel sandwiches and grab-n-go bagels. I arrived around 9:45 AM and by 10 AM it was packed with a line out the door. It did take a while to get my sandwich order so Id recommend ordering online for pickup ahead of time if youre in a rush. The prices also seem to be a bit lower on their website too.I ordered the Vegd Out sandwich and it was delicious. All the veggies were fresh and the Laziz hummus went great with it.Theres no indoor seating but there were some tables and chairs set up outdoors. The sandwiches are also a great pack lunch if youre going on a hike or hitting the road. They also have coffee but just basic drip coffee (dark roast when I went).
I love this place! Gracious staff, their online ordering system is unrivaled!
The bagels were super! Selection was awesome these were definitely good fresh made bagels.
Absolutely delicious and not a long wait even for my sandwich. Street parking was easy and they have some little tables outside. So good!!
I’ve wanted to order from The Bagel Project for a while, I was finally able to try it today. I ordered the bacon, eggs, and cheese signature sandwich with the works. It was delicious. I definitely plan on ordering from here again. They are also taking proper precautions for COVID-19. They send you text messages to tell you when your order is ready. Originally it was supposed to take 20 minutes, but ended up being ready in 10 minutes. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys bagel sandwiches.
Went here on a recommendation and I was not disappointed. Excellent bagels! Nice, helpful and friendly staff. If you are in near Salt Lake City and are looking for good bagels... go here!!
Visiting from out of town, and my friend encouraged me to get breakfast here. Friendly and patient staff recommended a DELICIOUS sandwich (Poblano Picasso) on a good salt bagel. Coffee was also great. I would come back here if I come to SLC again!
I ordered online and I arrived on time when they told me it would be ready. I waited another half hour so total an hour after I ordered a bagel sandwich. When I asked about it over thirty minutes later I was told they have only so much time in a day and a girl at the counter was incredibly rude. The bagels are good but service is terrible. Will not order and waste my time again. If you want good service look else where......
I just waited more than 25 minutes in a line six people deep for a bag of bagels. They are good but not THAT good. Order online or come on a weekday or skip it —not worth it.
My bagel was cold when I got it, may have been decent otherwise. Hard to say. They put your order on a shelf in a lobby. Since I didn’t sign up for a text (why should I have to do that?), I was not alerted that my bagel was ready. I suppose I was supposed to pop into their lobby every two minutes to find out for myself. I think it borders on rude and impersonal to tell humans to order their food on their screens if safety direct demand it. But if you do this, I think it best not to force us to give our bank account information to the makers of cash app. I guess I’m a curmudgeon… but also, stepping back a bit, why should anyone have to enter their bank account info to order a bagel? Two stars for giving me the option to order inside upon request.
It’s a legit East Coast bagel.I don’t think I need to expand on the 5 star rating, do I?
Great bagel place. Loved it. It does get quite busy in the mornings, so get there quickly.
The bagels are pretty good, the service not so great. They messed up my bagel, then were rude to me… Don’t quite get it.
Based on my experience, main issue here is consistency. Menu looks good in theory, but lacks flavor and is unbalanced. Bagels? Sometimes chewy, sometimes way dense, sometimes fall apart. Never crunchy top. Salsa and pesto? Bland. Cream cheese? Bland. Eggs? Overcooked. Fish? Dry. Bacon? Forgotten. Again. One shining star, their jam is delicious.
Surprised by the many choices they had for bagels and spreads. Have to agree with other comments that say these are the best in Utah. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and we can’t wait to go back and try a bagel sandwich. Got the garlic bagel with scallion spread at the suggestion of of the staff. So good.
Quick service... GREAT product. Ive already started recommending it to friends. Servers very friendly and helpful.
Though I like the food at this place. When I call to make a to-go order all they take is online orders. If they do that only they need to make some kind of an option for someone to pay for cash when they show up to pick up their order. Because some people dont have the means the paying online when they make their order. All you can do is sit at the tables just outside the front door or make an order online and pay that way. That leaves a whole bunch of people out they cant order or eat from them if they liked their food. I like their food but not enough to sit outside and wait to have my order taken and then get my order let alone have the means of paying online to get an order done. It would be really nice if The Bagel Project does do something so that there is an option to pay for cash when you show up to pick up to go order!!!!!!
Great bagels, service is also good. The space is tight, so we always take our bagels to go, but always happy to do so. Only recommendation - check your bag before you leave if you order a lot of bagels. Twice I have come home with a slightly different mix of bagels than I ordered. Usually not a big deal but we have some picky eaters so like to get what we specifically order.
Best bagels Ive ever had. Love the texture. The bagel project has ruined all other bagel places for me. I used to go to Einsteins somewhat regularly for my bagel fix, but no more. Id rather make the slightly longer drive to TBP.
Should have been up front about how long the wait would be. Every time I asked all they said was it’s coming right up.... 30 min later still nothing. Way to ruin someone’s mood in the morning. Total of 50 min for two bagels! Geez
I’d been wanting to try this place for a while and I was not disappointed! I went today and got the egg cheese and bacon in salt bagel was incredible! Their bagels are chewy and amazing. Also, a doz bagels, THANK YOU. I will be back! Please go here, support local, small business!
This is the real deal. Most people west of Ohio don’t know what a bagel is. These folks do and they make them just right every single day. I am so grateful that this place exists and that a little piece of New York is here in Salt Lake because of it.
Such a great place for a quick bagel to numerous other items. All the vegetarian options are wonderful.
One of Salt Lake’s little gems. We went in for our first time this morning and are so excited for the next time we get breakfast here. My boyfriend and I are vegan and there are plenty of amazing options for plant based people. We both got the Veg’d Out with a toaster bagel and added the jalapeño jelly. Would 10/10 recommend!!! It was amazing.
I ordered the Poblano bagel sandwich and it was the best kind Ive had. I thought it be too much for an early morning breakfast but I was wrong, it was just the perfect thing. We went in as a group and all the items we ordered were on point, from the trout to the soy chorizo.
This place was a great little breakfast spot in Salt Lake City. If you are more in to sweet bagels (which I am) they are a bit lacking. Most of their bagels and toppings are savory. The inside is also fairly small and when I was there it was pretty bust. Only 4 small tables for people to sit at. Other than that, it is a good quick stop for bagels. Id go again.
I had a salt bagel with honey cream cheese and jalapeño jam, and the bagel itself didn’t taste as fresh as I would like. The jam was great, though! We also got an egg and cheese bagel sandwich, which was also okay. I would get food here again though so 4 stars!
Great tasting bagels! I cant wait to come back and try a bagel sandwich next time. I also appreciate the COVID safety protocols in place.
Very tasty. Had the bacon, egg, and cheese and it was perfectly crispy and tasty. Would recommend.
Online ordering very fast and efficient. Delicious, chewy, toasty, tasty bagels! I got a variety of bagels and cream cheeses. Certainly a perfect spot for that bagel fix. Thank you!
Only good bagel spot in the valley. Very good salt, garlic and everthing bagel. Hip and beautiful customers as well.
Just another Utah bagel spot - dense hard inner dough with a soft shell. I picked up a bakers dozen after I had heard that I “MUST try Bagel Project” several times after moving from New York. I have high standards for bagels: soft, fluffy inner dough with small air pockets and a crusty and crunchy soft exterior so it doesn’t need toasting (most New York bagel spots don’t even offer toasting as an option). Needless to say - I was disappointed. And I have to note that the everything bagels were barely seasoned... might as well just have ordered a plain bagel.
Bagels are good comparatively, since there is little competition in SLC, and Einsteins are bread in the shape of a bagel. Customer service is middling to piddling (if youve been there, you know who is piddling, and one lassie stands out among them), website sucks, and opening at 730 AM, almost 2 hours after Einsteins seems to reflect an unfortunate and unjustified presumptuousness that the modestly better bagels are worth waiting for. Room for improvement, for sure.
Man I cant say enough good things about the bagels! I moved to Utah thinking that my bagel days were over. Freezing a dozen fresh bagels and toasting them over the week and spreading scallion cream cheese is one of lifes unsung delights. Thank you for the gift of carbs!
This was literally the best bagel Ive ever had, it was so clean and easy to pick up, especially during Covid times. The cream cheese was generous, and the Bialy was such a treat. Tight parking area, beware of a suspiciously high curb when you back out. An obstacle worth overcoming for the best bagels in town.
Great bagels. Not the most efficient place but good simple food.
I visited BP today and got POBLANO PICASSO and Nana and fried egg. No complaints. The food was excellent and I got what I expected. The servers were courteous and I got my food super fast. Using the ordering online is highly suggested. They got me in and out very fast. All in all a great visit.
I just had my first Everything bagel from here, and even with all of the good things that Ive heard, was pleasantly surprised at just how delicious it was. Well done!!!
Best bagel place in SLC
A bit pricey, but it was good. Nothing super fantastic but I would probably go again.
Best bagels this side of Mississippi ! Delicious flavors and options. We used their website and it was a breeze. The cream cheese was generous, and the Bialy was such a treat. Covid friendly pickup. Worth the carbs for sure!!!! They even threw in a few extra. An obstacle worth overcoming for the best bagels in town.
The bagels are delicious and the staff is incredible. Definitely a go to for anybody that loves bagels. Will always recommend.
Great bagel, very healthy and organized establishment!
Great staff and excellent food! The prices are fair as well. I recommend this place to everyone. Get their Challah bread! (available every Friday and Saturday)
Being from the east coast, finding a good bagel is hard to do. Once I had Bagel Project once they were my go to bagel and breakfast sandwich place.
Smoked trout and gravlax are amazing! Really fantastic bagels. Highly recommend stopping here!
This place is amazing! The bagels are really, really good!!
Really enjoyed going here took a couple of friends with me they seemed to really enjoy the food that they got I had a really good cup of coffee so whatever coffee you guys are using is really delicious thank you for that because I love coffee
Amazing food and service!
These bagels are TDF! The salt bagel is a true delight. I am not sure if they make their own cream cheese but somehow it always tastes so good. Truly wonderful and I’m from NY!
Seriously best bagels in Utah. The bacon egg and cheese is amazing, especially if you add their Hava salsa to it. Really you cant go wrong here. Also the staff is absolutely lovely and theyve handled COVID wonderfully. Highly recommended.
Good bagels and the scallion cream cheese is delicious . They were very accommodating of my request to pack each bagel individually.
Very nice bagels. They arent open all week so I recommend taking a dozen home so you can get your fix any time. I like their lox schmeer real well. I had a nice conversation with the owner, he is passionate about what he is doing.
I hate to give a local business 3 stars as I have been here in the past and the food was really good. Unfortunately I dont think the price is worth it anymore. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on everything. It came with one egg, 1 piece if bacon, and a half a slice of cheese. After tax and tip it was $9.50. The sandwhich hardly had any contents it was so flat. It was worth about half that price. I was still hungry and went somewhere else to eat after that.
The best bagels in Salt Lake. After eating these bagels I will not eat a bagel anywhere else in Salt Lake. They have the best texture, crunch on the outside and chewy inside. Delicious!
Why don’t you have like a regular cheddar cheese bagel? I live so close and I would go all the time if you had this one bagel, which in my mind, is a popular bagel. Whyyy
The “best” bagel you’ll find in SLC. Theres definitely room for improvement but for what it’s worth their bagels are good and the lox is good!
Took 40 minutes to get 3 bagels
Good location just southeast of downtown SLC in a quaint building. Though I did notice the lack of parking and seating inside the establishment, like many others, Im not going to knock a quick serving bagel shop for expediating the experience. The first thing youll notice upon entering is a simplistic aestetic including an easy-to-read menu. Due to my tastes I would have liked a few more choices, but not something that would keep me away. Service was quick and friendly even with a stream of people flowing in.The bagels themselves were a good consistency... Slight crunch on the outside with a mostly chewy center (just a tad bready). The cream cheese used was delicious and not overbearing (in both volume and taste) - I chose the scallion this time around.
Double toasted? Not even regular toasted. Avocado salsa? Couldn’t taste it. I’m from New York and had high hopes that we would have a good bagel place here, but was thoroughly dissapointing
I was wanting to get out of the corporate realm for brunch this afternoon and saw great reviews about this establishment. I was greeted by being told that they close soon (45 minutes from then) but they *guess* they can take my order. The bagel I received was small and untoasted, and had the wrong cream cheese. It was so dry and disappointing that I wished I stayed home and burnt a stale Sara Lee in my toaster, I would have been much happier. Unfortunately, Einstein once again prevails. :/
Excellent bagels
Would have liked more cream cheese options
Not good bagels. Chewy, over cooked. Will not be going back.
I like the bagel project a lot! The staff were nice and I got what is now my favorite breakfast food. That being a plan bagel with honey cream cheese. However, they did not have as many options that I thought they were going to have and limited selection on bagels. Therefore, it did not get 5 stars but it was pretty darn close!
Ive had great bagels from this place! I would suggest their next project to be to offer gluten free bagels and dairy free cream cheese options 😁
Seriously love this place. I love bagels. This place makes everything fresh, has fresh sourced ingredients, and tastes amazing. I am trying to cut down on processed foods in general, and I feel good about treating myself here once in a while because they dont use preservatives (or sugar), and dont leave my stomach feeling gross like some places Ive eaten. Ive read some people complain about the price...I dont think its too expensive, and its worth it for what you get. My favorite is the egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel with the works. My only complaints...and these will not stop me from going are that the parking lot is way too small and for some reason they no longer carry bacon for their sandwiches. I used to love their BLT.
Best bagels in Utah!
The bagel sammies are so good.
The ladies working behind the counter were horribly rude and negative. Bagels are great busy customer service was a nightmare
With people coming in and out, this is an obvious popular staple for folks. The Bagel Project is small, so it doesnt allow for huge parties to sit and congregate, but its perfect if you want to get brunch with a friend. They were quick and efficient, allowing for those who want a coffee and shmear on the go to be satisfied. They had a variety of different bagels, and the egg and cheese, with the works on a garlic bagel, was flavorful. Loved it! Definitely recommend!
Love, love, love this place! Best bagels! A little expensive, but totally worth it!Pretty close to authentic New York bagel! That comment comes from a New Yorker, who was also very impressed with them!Totally reccomend and will 100% come back again and again!!!
A friend suggested this place. I was honestly hesitant because I hate overly trendy food lacking taste or substance which I thought this place would be. But I was delightfully surprised. I got the loaded egg and cheese bagel and it was quite good. I recommend checking it out.
Delicious bagels. Try the honey cream cheese! They’re super fast and the employees are all really nice. We went three times in two days. 😂 tasty kombucha in the fridge.
My first time here. Stopped for a quick lunch. Bagels were fresh and my sandwich (vegetable) was delicious!! Will definitely order (bagels from) and/or stop by again!!
Always great, awesome bagels, super friendly staff!
Very slow service. No iced coffee. Paid $15 for pro what seemed like day old bagels or just not baked right. The lox cream cheese was good
Very, very good bagels. Serious. The plain salt bagel was about as good as any bagel I have ever had, even back east. The bagel with lox was even better and, serious, this is a weird detail... Really good purple onions. They almost tasted like an apple. Go alone and try not to look creepy in the corner. Thats what I did.
Small, quaint and delicious! Their egg sandwich with the works is super yummy & was ready very quick. Can’t wait to try more things here!
Their bagels, bialys & challah are the most delicious in Utah, hands down!! I had a misunderstanding with the owners, and they were very gracious in fixing it. They really care about their customers and their bagels are a treat! Be careful to read their email responses as sometimes they tell you they need you to pick up your order within the hour because of adjusted work times. Lets help make this business thrive, we want them to survive the pandemic people!!! Please bring back the Challah, we miss it!!
Love the Bagel Project. I work downtown and go to your downtown location often. Is there a reason you don’t have bacon at your other location?? It makes the egg and cheese bagel so much better.
Loved this place
Let me begin by saying I know carbs. I really, REALLY know carbs. Ive been to countless bagel shops over the years and have been impressed by a few. But this week I experienced a sensation that far surpasses impressed and reached the level of euphoria. The two gentlemen behind the counter were downright delightful and went above and beyond to make our experience positive. There was literally nothing I could find wrong with this place or the people who work there. And I love to judge so thats no easy task. Seriously- the food was good but the service was incredible. Find the time to go in!
We used the bagel project for our wedding catering! Rob had us come in for a delicious tasting so we could know exactly what we wanted. It was great for our wedding and rob and his team were very easy to work with! Highly recommend.
I give them 4 starts but by far the best bagel shop in Salt Lake. Very similar to a New York style bagel, they have a decent variety however I really wish they would make a pumpernickel/pumpernickle onion bagel. I do like the New Yorker sandwich but would prefer the whitefish salad to be blended finer in the typical Jewish-New York style. My favorite cream cheese is the scallion, their lox spread is decent. As other reviews have stated, some more cream cheese options would also be nice. Perhaps a nice vegetable cream cheese??Staff is friendlier than most places in Salt Lake City. They also carry local eggs and honey. I rate them 4 stars because of the pumpernickel bagel and whitefish salad. Never had a bad experience otherwise, everything has been delicious.
I desperately wanted this place to have great bagels, but they dont. No crunchy outside, and too soft on the inside. They kind of fall apart in your mouth with nothing to chew like white bread. For being as expensive as they are these should really be better.
