I placed an order here over the phone on a Tuesday to pickup Saturday afternoon. Upon pickup I was informed that my order had gotten lost under a pile of other stuff and they didnt have one of the 3 items I ordered. This order was for an out-of-town family member who was in town on Sunday and was returning home for a hospital procedure on Monday. So my order was lost and I didnt have the time or circumstances to just come back another time. So I took the 2 other items (one of which the quantity was wrong) and got in my car.I walked back into the store to see if there was anything that could be done about the 3rd item which they had told me they had some of the item, but not enough for a full order. Maybe put what they had in a different container or something? This item was the main reason I had even placed an order here, its a favorite of the person I was giving the gift to. One of the employees went to the back room to speak with the other employee in the store. Just FYI you can ABSOLUTELY hear what the staff is saying in the back. So after overhearing how annoyed the employees were with me from the back, one returned and told me nothing could be done, sorry.I was clearly upset and emotional and just asked them if they could have their manager call me on Monday so I could share this experience with management. Have yet to receive any communication.
Do they ever get an order right???Been coming here for years to make family members happy and just about every time they mix something up. We end up having to go back. Often the candies are shipped out of State for special occasions and then it is too late and too costly to fix. I really dont know why we even bother anymore. ☹
Years ago, my in laws in Salt Lake City swore by these chocolates and always had a box around at Christmas. I asked Cummings if they could put together a Halloween basket for a child on short notice and they made a wonderful one, even sent a photo so I could okay it. Wonderful customer service and communication. And, they delivered it that same day!!
I would fly to Utah just to get these chocolates and fly right back! Im so glad I found this place! My favorite was the candy apple and the cherry and marzipan chocolates. Soo amazing
I know its off season. But we good some old chocolate. Disappointed.
Their name comes from the fact that the chocolates they sell are good enough to make your mouth 👏🏻 C U M 👏🏻
Bought a pound of mixed chocolate pralines. They are wayyyyy too sweet and pretty expensive. The caramel apple was pretty good, but seriously, work on the balance. Two stars instead of one because the employees are helpful and nice.
Best chocolates so much variety to choose from ranging from carmeled apples, chocolate covered strawberries, and so many more chocolates, we got lots of strawberry covered in chocolate because my family just loves strawberry’s definitely come if you have a sweet tooth
Wonderful! Loved the variety of chocolates I received this morning. Delicate, rich and flavorful. Im not a fan from fruit-creme textured filled chocolate, but I tried the raspberry creme dipped in dark chocolate and it was delicious!
The best chocolates in the USA. Great service and they customized my order beautifully. Worth every penny!
I have always loved this place! I only wish they were open on Sundays! I will be heading there soon to buy my grandmother her favorite chocolate covered grapes!
Bought over $300 worth of candy on the friday before valentines. It took the salsa girl over 1 hour to fill the boxes. After her checking with me several times as to my choices, I finally asked her to get a pen and paper and write it down. Thinking everything was all good I gave the 1lb boxes to family members. Upon opening them they were ALL wrong. Most of them had nuts in them. NONE of the boxes were supposed to have nuts. I am so angry. I will be calling on monday for a refund
Delicious chocolate. Covered strawberries is just one of the reasons to go here. Always nice and friendly. Variety or treats with some gluten free options.
Their chocolate is amazing! I wish they were more knowledgeable about which chocolates are gluten free.
Live the chocolate covered grapes and strawberries.
Ive always loved Cummings chocolates, they have been a family tradition. However, Im giving 3 stars due to trying to order over the website which was confusing and not user friendly.
Ive been to this store several times but it was not until today that I felt the need to post a review. I took my daughter here for a first day of school treat. We ended up arriving about 10 minutes before closing but the women working (I believe her name was McCall) was so patient and kind. We got talking about how my daughters first day of school had been kind of a hard day for her and McCall went out of her way to be the bright point in our day. I was already a fan because of the chocolate covered fruits (all varieties are delicious) but because of the kindness shown today I can confidently say we will be visiting much more often than we have previously. If anyone on the management team is reading this, give McCall a raise!!
Excellent choice of chocolates! I love this candy!
Finally tried this place because I was always driving past when I am in Salt Lake. I wanted some chocolate covered strawberries and I was not disappointed. They were delicious. I also purchased some cashew brittle which was delightful. It wasnt too sweet which I prefer. Lots to choose from. Definitely will be back.
Customer service was great as always. The chocolates are great too.
Limited variety of fudge.
HORRIBLE customer service and management, and CROOKED, SWINDLING OWNERS. (But great chocolate covered grapes.)**Be warned!** I purchased gift certificates through City Deals for Cummings Chocolates in order to bring the price of their chocolates within a reasonable price range. I took the long drive out to Cummings to get chocolates for my mothers birthday and when I went to give them the gift certificates they told me that they decided to stop taking the gift certificates I had paid for because they were having problems getting paid from City Deals.I tried to explain that this predicament is due to a bad business deal that THEY did with City Deals. THIS IS AN ISSUE BETWEEN THEM AND CITY DEALS. But, because THEY are having problems collecting their money, they are perfectly fine making their CUSTOMERS pay the price!! This is a company that obviously puts their extremely high margins and profits AHEAD of decent, honest customer service and customers that have already paid their hard earned cash for their chocolates. They were perfectly happy to tell me that I was the one that was going to pay the price for THEM not getting paid by a company that THEY signed up for and had an agreement with. CROOKS.Might I add that I then attempted to use other City Deal gift certificates at other businesses since then and even though several of them told me that they are having troubles getting paid back from City Deals, they are still honoring the gift certificates in the name of honesty and good customer service. Three of these places were Golden Spoon, Rock Creek Pizza, and Platinum Car Wash. Because of their handling of this situation, these three businesses have a customer for life, and Cummings will NEVER have my business or the business of anyone I can influence to not go there. So, if honesty and integrity is something that you feel businesses that you patronize should have, then DO NOT go to Cummings!
This place has change quite a bit for the last time I was at this store. The variety of treats there has shrunk since my last visit. They still have a great variety of treats, but usually just the hit, chocolate cover fruit, boxes of many sizes, and more. They really do great chocolates, but they are on the pricey side so deffinetly save it for a special occasions.
For generations the absolute best in chocolate. Visit everytime I go to Salt Lake. Like Strawberries? Get their chocolate dipped berries, no-one (and I mean no-one) even comes close to them!
Amazing chocolates even if they are expensive. They are worth the price. Then strawberries grapes are freshly made and always juicy. The quality of the chocolate seems better than a lot of the other chocolate shops in the area (like Sees). Their marzipan is hands down my fav in Salt Lake City. They have really cool chocolate sculptures like high heeled shoes!
I have enjoyed these chocolates since 1974 and since leaving SLC look forward to my annual visit to buy boxes of these for myself and several of my key business contacts. $41 per pound is little to pay for such a heavenly chocolate. Unfortunately, this timeChocolate of the Gods has lost its edge. With the once flavor orange and strawberry centers have no flavor. The once thick outer chocolate seems now painted on. The candy that once made Sees taste like substandard chocolate now takes the back seat.
Nice, Clean, Friendly, fresh chocolate, plus samples...
Highly recommend this chocolate shop. Great customer service, knowledgeable and helpful with every question I had.
Excellent chocolates - typically the only kind I buy. Be wary of having them mail them somewhere however. I ordered a 3 lb. box on Wednesday two weeks before Xmas to be mailed to another state. They assured me they would arrive in time. The next Monday they called and my order still had not been prepared or sent (even though when I contacted them on Friday they said they were sent)...and they were now out of one of the chocolates I ordered. In addition they indicated the order would now not get there prior to Christmas unless I paid an extra $24 to expedite. Needless to say I am not pleased. It will be difficult for me to make myself purchase from them again in the future.
Worst experience with a business Ive ever encountered. Said they could ship it, I gave my address. Was excited as it was a gift for my Moms Birthday. Days later I get a phone call asking me when I was going to pick up my chocolates. Advised them its supposed to be shipped as their website stated, and they couldnt. I asked for my Money back, and I STILL dont have my money back. Quick to take your money, but super slow to return it. I have to wait another business day to talk to the office manager about why I havent been refunded though thats not the first time I was told that. Love their chocolate, but not worth dealing with the business. Ill order my chocolate elsewhere from now on.
Chocolates are very good. That gets the 2 stars, their customer service I would give 0.I went today, and the employee didnt offer samples to all customers who came in, just the ones who were dressed in suits, or looked weathly. Also when she was putting the chocolate covered Apple in the bag, she dropped it and it broke. Then I didnt receive the correct order. I received 2 of the same, and not the other one I paid for. It even was written on the bag what I ordered. I should of checked when I was there, but I thought it would be correct. And didnt look until I got all the way home. Very disappointed. 😞😞😞
They have amazing chocolates! My favorite is their chocolate dipped strawberries! They always seem to have huge, ripe ones, even in the winter.
I wanted to try the place out so I got a variety, but didnt really enjoy any of the chocolates. They were very bland, or overly sweet (yet flavorless), and not very chocolatey. The staff was nice but their process was very strange. I picked out an assortment of chocolates from the counter, and instead of putting them in a bag, they wrote them down and then went in back and put a bag together. I thought maybe I was getting fresher chocolates this way, but in fact they just got my order wrong.
I have never felt more confused when picking up an order from a place. We ordered half a pound of chocolate covered strawberries for $20 online at 8am. Today, we went in at 4pm to pick them up, and when we told the person working there, he went in the back and asked how much was it for, so we told him half a pound, then he proceeded to go grab an egg carton filled with 6 strawberries that weighed a third of a pound and asked if that was okay. He also didn’t know if we had paid yet or not either, so we just took that and left because the whole situation was so confusing.
Cummings Studio Chocolates is off 7th East, just to the North-East corner of Liberty Park ( a great place to chill and walk around, which also houses the aviary and a cool pond). If you get there early enough, you can get (and hear me out on this) Chocolate. Covered. Grapes. Yeah, you heard that right, sounds weird, looks odd, costs like 11-14 bucks a box, but theyre worth every-god-damned-penny. If theyre out of those, the strawberries, or raspberries are pretty rad too, in that order. They also do Choc covered Cinnamon Bears right.
For 92 years the place to go for handmade chocolates. If you dont try the dipped strawberries than your missing one of lifes true treasures.
Cummings Studio Chocolates is a Utah staple / original with the best chocolates and such youll find anywhere. Amazing glazed premium cashews as well - a must-have for Christmas every year!
Mmmmm for the Tummy 😁
Wow! Fantastic chocolate. Sadly, the pound of assorted chocolates that I bought are already gone. I think my wife ate them all. 😉
Chocolate covered strawberries! ✨⚡
Best chocolates anywhere! Willy Wonka would have done flips for the toffees and cremes. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating. HIGHLY recommend this business.
Great chocolates! But the employee that helped didnt know anything about anything
Chocolate covered grapes. Nuff said! Ok, maybe not. Corner store thats pretty easy to get to. Very friendly and helpful staff. My only complaint is they are 25 minutes away. But its worth the drive. And its a very popular store.
Tradition and good old fashion chocolates. Best Caramels you will ever taste in all their varieties! Unique fruit dipped in chocolates simply the Best. GREAT holiday gift.
This store reminds me of the old candy stores growing up as a kid. The staff were so friendly, knowledgeable, and beyond helpful. Love this place!
Have great chocolate but for $63.00 for a 2lb box the fillings should have some flavor my mother and I couldnt even tell what they are supposed to be
Excellent customer service and delicious chocolates. Darbie (I hope I spelled her name right) helped me pick a wonderful selection of goodies to bring as gifts. Their gift box is the perfect present for anyone who enjoys local artisanal chocolates. A wonderful Salt Lake treat only available locally. 😃😃😃
Best chocolate store in Utah. They have great selection here to make up your own box of chocolates. Also for the holidays they have excellent hand dropped fruit. This is a must stop during the holidays.
They have some nice selections. The shop itself also has its own charm. However the prices are a little too high.
Great store, the chocolate is amazing. Please get the number system back. Waiting to be served is confusing when a lot of people are there
We stopped in today to pick up some Easter treats. Heather was an amazing help and introduced us to our new favorite Maddies (dark chocolate caramel macadamias!)Thank you!
Not only are the chocolates and specialty’s to die for, but they really take care of their customers. Stopped in today to get some stuff for mother’s day and was beyond impressed with their customer service and welcoming demeanor.
Wonderful dipped strawberries
Expensive. But the treats were delicious. Not sure it was worth the extra$$ though. 🤷🏼♀️
Great chocolates! I recommend them for gifts.
Best chocolate covered raspberries Ive ever had!!Buy whatever you like it will be the best.
Hands down THE best chocolate available in Salt Lake City. Dont miss their dipped fruit (the strawberries are amazeballs)!
Although my family has ordered these since the 1980s/1990s, this year was an awful experience. My father received some and they came completely melted. They were inedible and he threw them away. I searched for the Cummings website, two popped up. One was down and one was C. Kay Cummings. I assumed C. Kay was correct, since the other was down. C. Kay called to let me know I had sent pictures of Cummings Studio Chocolates, not theirs. I reached out to Cummings Studio via phone (left a message since no one answered) and Facebook on January 3. No response. I had sent pictures & a message. I messaged again on January 9 and commented on Facebook. I got a call January 10 at 5:30 PM (I was in a meeting and couldnt answer). They left a message, I called back on January 11 and left another message stating my fathers name & address (which they have since they have sent chocolates for over 20 years to his address) and said we would like another box (preferably a different kind of chocolate since we get the same one every year from family) or a refund for the purchaser. I got a call back with no message left, so I assumed it was an accident. It is now January 21, no new box has been sent and no refund has been issued. Im so disappointed in this experience, it isnt hard to send out a box of chocolate and it should have been sent the minute they received my initial Facebook message. Its been almost 20 days since then.
Great tasting chocolate. But they certainly are pricey compared to grocery shops. I dont know how theyd compare against other chocolate studios.
Amazing chocolate treats, best place in the city for chocolate strawberries
Family had been a customer since the fifties. Best candies ever.
Best Chocolate truffles around. Its my familys go to for quality Chocolate.
If you want the best This is the place.
Terrific treats. Wonderful gifts for the holidays or other special occasions.
Amazing and delicious choclates and choclate covered fruit. The strawberrys are out of this world.
This place has really gone down hill! The manager was slow and very rude! Certainly could use some mentoring in people skills. Fortunately many other great places to get much better quality chocolate such as Hatches, Tony Caputos and Liberty Heights.
Worst customer service ever. Id give them zero Stars if I could. Placed an order online Sunday the 11th enough time for them to make the chocolates for my spouse for Valentines Day. Received my email confirmation and the invoice said pick up in store when I place the order for delivery. Called them on Monday to verify that they would be delivering to my spouses work and the nice gentleman on the phone talk with the manager and she said she would personally deliver them with her other runs that day. Tuesday rolls around and still no chocolates tried calling 5 times no answer left a message no call back. Then today Valentines Day I tried calling them still no answer no call backs. Sprouse still has not received her chocolates thanks Cummings for ruining my Valentines gift!! I am glad I paid with PayPal so I can get my money back because Im not going to deal with or put up with a bunch of incompetent imbeciles. Maybe you guys should go into politics instead of chocolate
I love the dark chocolate haystacks!
So INCREDIBLY GOOD. Every year for valentines day we get a dozen chocolate covered strawberries from here and every year they blow my mind.
Best chocolates in salt lake! Great family business.
Mmmm chocolate...best dipped fruit
Seriously THE best. I could live here, spend all my money, grow fat, and die from type 2 diabetes with a smile on my face.
This has been a family staple for decades. We cannot go to SLC without stoping here for some decadent chocolate.
I have been coming to Cummings chocolates for several years, they never disappoint.

Good but pricey chocolate, ideal for a festive treat. Friendly service when the was in there early today.
Love their hand dipped chocolate, but their customer service could definitely be better.
Beautifully made chocolates and fun staff make this shop a delight!
Not enough employees to help during holidays but chocolates are very good. Parking is bad.
Been buying chocolates here for over 40 years. After today’s experience with the new changes, I have bought my last!! No pre packaged boxes, lousy service, no sample and the audacity to ask for a tip!
Free samples great strawberries chocolate covered
Truly the best chocolates. A must visit in SLC!
High quality chocolate. The give you a free sample:)
So delicious mmmmm
Love this place! Key lime are the best!
The best chocolate covered strawberries and raspberries ever. This family owned store is a gem in the SLC valley.
Great chocolate and local.
The customer service was amazing and the chocolates are Amazing.
A little expensive but great chocolate.
I always get the mint (dark/milk) chocolate squares for my wife. They are way good but definitely overpriced which is why I only go a couple times a year. Service has always been ok for me.
This is the best chocolate in Utah! Fantastic service.
Good chocolate! When I was there I also got some free samples
Fast, friendly service; fantastic chocolates!
