Their tech came and did a tune up on our new home garage doors (a double and a single). Turns out the builder/installers did not have the tracks set correctly. Technician corrected tracks, adjusted the infrared sensors oiled where it needed to be and had the door working better than new. Stopped some scrapping noises and squeezing - so much better! Their office staff was great about setting the appointment. So easy to work with! Will definitely continue to use this company.

I was having issues with the motor closing fast and then slow the next. The builder installed the Genuine without a surge protector and it fried the mother board over time. I contacted Universal Garage Door as my safety sensors were not working so my door would not automatically close as designed. Jose from Universal showed up and quickly assessed the problem and fixed it. He then noticed that the garage door springs which I had installed by another garage service company two years ago had installed incorrect springs which put stress on my garage door motor. So I had him replace the springs and it made an immediate impact. The door can be opened manually with ease and when the door closes, there is no loud clunk as it used to sound. Thanks for the great job Jose and helping me to understand what was wrong with my garage door.

Had an issue with my garage door stopping in the middle of opening or closing. Turned out it was a faulty logic board on my old 2006 Craftsman garage door opener. I booked yesterday, and Jacob came by today and had everything fixed, including reprogramming my remotes, in about an hour! Friendly, fast, and everything seems to work great!

I had them install a brand new garage door opener and I’ve never been able to use the keypad to open the door. They came to repair the keypad and it still didn’t work and has never worked.

Great response time, even when working through my home owner’s insurance. My technician was Jose on both occasions. After calling a few places and having a couple companies give me quotes, I was pleased to have been able to work with Dave from Universal. Their quote was $200 less than A+ Garage Doors (who said I had to call back and schedule the repair)! They were incredibly prompt and able to do the repair work when they showed up. Dave (the tech) was incredibly professional, kind, and worked fast. I am SO happy I went with them and ignored A+ when they told me “every garage company in the Valley will charge x amount for this part” (Spoiler alert: they charged $175 less for the same part). I went to buy some torsion springs for my garage door. They wont sell them to the public. Had the conversation ended here it would have not been a big deal. The owner came out and said it is to dangerous for me to install my self. He then went on to try and scare me into having them install them. He even said hope you enjoy all your fingers while you still have them. Shame on them for trying to scare people into using them.I was able to find what I needed at Overhead Doors at 3345 S 300 W. They were very helpful and instead of trying to scare me, they explained what to do to stay safe. I signed the waiver that I could not sue them if I got hurt.I AM GLAD TO REPORT I INSTALLED THEM AND STILL HAVE ALL MY FINGERS.

He lubed and tightened the door and even put pull ropes on both my doors that didn’t have them. Very personable and went above and beyond what I expected. The tech completed the work, reviewed it with me and had me test it before he left. This was our first time having our garage door repaired and we appreciate the great service.

I was a little set back with our garage door consultation after I read all of the great reviews. They got our appointment time wrong, the guy who came only gave us the most expensive option and didn’t run through any other possibilities or even if other options weren’t possible, he gave us a estimate off the top of his head but couldn’t pull up an actual estimate on his iPad, and then as he left said that it was a $65 consultation fee when I didn’t see that anywhere on the website, especially given the fact that he didn’t even show us an estimate. So unfortunately it was a pretty bad interaction and I would not recommend this company after this.

My garage door works better than it has since I bought my house three years ago. nothing beats a lifetime warranty to back up parts used. The service was fast, courteous and the tech was early.
