Excellent service. Jon is super knowledgeable and Samantha was friendly. I didn’t get the name of the cashier person Samantha took over for this afternoon but they were friendly as well. Security was on point and friendly as well. The store was clean and organized. They had what I needed. I went around 2 pm right before it got super busy luckily. Parking was super convenient.
Staff were friendly, a security guard actually helped me find what I was looking for, staff at the registers worked to move the lines quickly. The store is set up to grab and go what you came in to purchase, many of the products were on pallets on the floor. The store was clean and other customers seemed to know exactly where to find what they were looking for. The store is not set up to explore or learn about new options, as the privately owned liquor stores are in my home state. This was my first time in a Utah State Liquor store so it may be the norm here.
Crowded, parking lot full, line out the door, and an over abundance of low rate customers. I was visiting from out of state & did not enjoy Utahs process to buy alcohol over 5%. After walking in and only seeing warm beer displayed on the floor, I turned around and walked out.
Good staff. Not crowded. However, they never have the cabernet Im looking for. 😭 please get some barefoot.
High-quality products always, holiday line sucked as usual but pink whitney and some fireball made the wait worth it
Always seem to have Porters on sale. Only place I can find Absenthe. Orderly, well stocked, quick check out time.
This place could be so much better, but we probably will never get that based on their location, I never feel safe here. Giving two stars because they are open until 10 and because they sell Monaco pre-mixed margaritas.
Reflects the historic hostlity to alcohol in what was a Mormon state. Poor selection, very crowded, high prices, terrible display. The worst of state liquour monopolies. The same can be said of most of Utah alcohol licensees except a few nice bars/restaurants in SLC.
Can never go wrong with the liquor store. Unless theyre closed. The employees are always friendly.
This place is a nightmare. I sat in the streets for 10 minutes waiting for a parking spot. Once inside and whiskey in hand I waited in line for 30 minutes. They need more help. Now to be fair the employees were awesome. They were friendly polite and extremely helpful to everyone. They made a bad time tolerable. Thanks to them for that.
You can never go wrong getting your alcohol here
Typical State owned and run liquor store. This location is a wine store so you wont find many liquor selections but tons of wine.
Good selection and convenient location. Would give 5 stars, but there are other DABC locations with better selections.
People werent wearing masks, but there wasnt a good reason as to why, or even notification on the doors. It seemed more of if you wanted to, not because of being fully vaccinated . Im fully vaccinated, wore a mask still, but they double bagged it when I told them I was walking home which was nice.It would be a 5 if there was a notice about masks or even anything about masks, whether what was allowed or not. I
They do get busy at times, but they still manage to get people in and out quickly.
Theyre good at selling alcohol; reliable and no nonsense about it. Occasionally something interesting happens but they keep it a pretty safe place.
Utahs liquor laws are nonsense. Only liquor store open past 8 on Friday night in SLC.
This liquor store is always a madhouse with nowhere near enough parking. The location is good, but they need more space. Best to try to find a time when its not crowded.
Staff is friendly and willing to help. Some interesting people outside by street that yell at you as you drive into the parking lot.
Fast freindly, and hey f.y.i if u moving need boxs dont wait till last min. They break em down.
We went here on Saturday in Salt Lake City as all liquor stores closed on Sunday. Mormon country. They did not have any pop, tonic water etc available...just alcohol, wine, beer (somewhat limited selection). Prices were a little pricey...more than in a grocery store in Iowa...lol!!
Best liquor store. Closest liquor store. Friendly staff. Busy AF sometimes.
Workers here are awesome. I just wish the state didnt have such a stranglehold on alcohol sales.
Always a good experience. This liquor store and its employees, well, they got it going on. Employees know what theyre doing. Quick efficient wonderful customer service. One of my favorite liquor stores in Salt Lake City Utah.
Always willing to help the check outs are funny & kind this is one if the liquor stores I know if they dont have what were looking for theyll give us advice on something just as good if your not happy they could probable order it for you.
Good place to go get liquor
What can I say, we all have our habits. And its nice to know that the customer service reps Hardwell educated and very professional.
Great place to go Ive been going there for seven years
Good selection, busy location on Fridays/saturdays. Friendly staff
Overcrowded. Parking lot full. Only 3 check out clerks. Not a big enough space for the demand. The line moved pretty quick.
Coming back to utah from Georgia and remembered yall can only get the real party started by visiting this place ugh!
Staff is pretty amazing here, but its always way too busy and the parking is atrocious. Stock is usually alright, but sometimes theyre out of the wines Im looking for. Maybe a little dingy compared to other locations, but Im not here for the ambiance, so its fine.
I am 52 and I definitely look over 32 my Id was expired so they wouldnt sell to me. Not ok and the way the law is written doesnt say Id everyone and dont sell even if you can tell they are old enough.
Had a great selection, loved it. Will certainly buy more next time!
Best selection in SLC of certain liquors. Top notch cognac, bourbons and vodkas. Look no further connoisseurs of such spirits. They are all HERE.
Staff was friendly and decent selection.
Get ready to be humiliated if youre a person of color, the security guard will shout at you as if youre entering to steal. When I was in the store this happened to another person of color as well. The store employees are least bothered about this and will rather ask you to visit another DABC store.Good selection of vodka but poor selection of wine and scotch whiskey and no refrigerated section.
Selection isnt bad but they treat you like a convict. A state run liquor store that feels like the state doesnt want to keep it open.
Very nice place, very nice selection.
Ok. Small selection, but what was there was decent.
The lines to get in with covid are ridiculous, expect to spend at least 5-10 minutes waiting in line out of store and in store. The sheriffs stationed at the entrance are pretty great and cheerful. Staff is very friendly, selection is very nice. Overall great liquor store.
Well stocked and super quick.
Smaller inventory than my last visits and but still a good choice if you want a wide variety of liquors, mixers, and pretty good inventory on wines. Anyway give them a try if you are in that particular area 😉
Not a large selection but we were able to maneuver around fairly well.
I lost my Id tried to buy products manager would not let me purchase. The security knew I lost it but the young Bull Sh.. manager would not let me purchase. I know I look older than 35 with all these grey hairs in my head.
The only liquor store in my area thats open til 10pm (as of recent to Jul 3, 2021) which makes it my go to.
Love the people who work there. They have a real interest and caring for the people they serve. They are really brave working the frontlines during the pandemic. Ive never heard a complaint from any of them and probably should have because of the craziness and already drunk customers they legally have to cut off and have to patiently ask them to leave all the while being yelled at and threatened. State liquor store monthly sales were up 1.3 million per store during the pandemic so far and Im sure with no end in site most people need that 11am drink or 3 to adjust to not having the school teachers raise oops teach their badly behaved kids for most of the day. The security guards are cool and funny if youre not acting like a a-hole. Best in salt lake in my opinion and they deserve a raise especially when the liquor stores go to 24hr schedules. I wish... and no they are not. Utah people! We live in Utah its not happening! Go say hi and tell them I sent ya.
Never enough parking places especially for trucks other than that its okay 😊
Super nice cashiers but everybody gets I.d.d
This is an old store, but very busy. Look out for the drunks and be careful you dont get hit by a car in the parking lot. People pop up from behind cars, between cars, and I swear they appear out of the engine compartments and car trunks also. Its like seeing double -- or triple there, you see so many. Its a real circus. Try not to hit anyone or be hit by some swozzeled deadbeat whos driving a Mercedes.
Crazy busy but never had to wait long! In & out with a smile!
Needed a bottle of wine and got one here!
Parking and selection is limited. Property looks run down.
Their prices are good, their selection is good, staff are helpful inside the store, the security are kind... But their sidewalk and parking lot are uneven and caused me to fall, breaking 2 fifths of vodka all over myself, glass everywhere. Their solution you can come in and buy more. After some goading by myself, my husband, my Lyft driver, the security staff and other bystanders... you can wash up in the staff bathroom. A staff member thought it was a good idea to toss all the glass, but failed to retrieve my receipt, so I have no proof of purchase. The uneven parking lot and sidewalk are still an issue that needs to be resolved.*Update* The Supervising manager offered to refund or replace the broken bottles. I am satisfied with this result and will change the star rating of my review.
Aside from the homeless out front all the time. Begging for change its not to bad. Pretty decent selection. And a security guard inside. You cant take even an empty bag in with you so leave it home if your walking. Or be prepared to leave it at the door. Im not sure what the guys out front with the glow sticks...directing traffic and all...what its about. Its def a location to be quick in and quick out
Always quick to get you checked out.
Nice place 😆
This store is clean and neatly stockedand the people are friendly and helpful.
They have a great selection! Staff was very friendly.
Very different experience as someone visiting from out of state. No chilled beverages. Beer is bought by the can/bottle. Weird location with tight parking area.
Dude outside asking for alcohol all the time
Busy but fast!
Its state run and that shows. Utah has Draconian liquor laws which prevent stores from bringing in new or limited release products. Prices are Okay and on sale items are a few dollars off retail at most. Staff is hard working and checkout lines tend to move fast but product knowledge is low.
Friendly and accommodating staff
I keep being upset with Utah liquor stores. this one didnt even have portuguese wine section.
A woman arrived without a mask. The security guard asked her to put one on. She objected. Then one of the cashiers said she was fine. WTH?! Why didnt she have to wear one?
Utah is ridiculous with there alcohol regulation. I thought ca had too many regulations. Be glad to get back to Californias delicious beer selections without all the communism
Theres not a lot of places to get liquor in Salt Lake. Even so, this place really delivers. Great variety. Fair prices, and very friendly staff. Location is convenient as well. Who knew that getting liquor and Utah can be a challenge? Luckily this place takes care of it.
Busy place but very efficient service. Large selection of wine, spirits.
They stay open pretty late until 10 which is nice when people get off early friendly staff and you hardly even have a wait to go. Every time Ive been I get to walk in and walk right out .
Not great good nor horrible or bad.
Love that I only live a block away!
Can I give zero stars? The worst service AND the worst selection.
Fast service ...
Decent craft beer selection
Lived in Utah for about a year and all the liquor stores score low on price, availability, and selection. This liquor store manages to go another step in the wrong direction. Staff is quite frankly rude. Feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Location is good but parking is challenging during peak hours. Best of luck with your visit!
Dont drink and drive.
Speedy check out and great customer service.
The DABC is a great Business completely run by State of Utah. This is a smart and efficient way to provide the public with their liquor, wine and beer purchases. This business reels in a humongous portion of the States revenue which helps through contribution and control of the liquor laws and even business licenses to buy and sell alcohol. They are open Monday through Saturday except on Sunday and any other Holidays including State Holidays. Regardless of the store size or location Im never disappointed as they have a wide variety to choose from. You must be 21 or older and be prepared to show identification regardless. The State requires that identification is verified by a large percentage through its sales to help and prevent the sale of alcohol to minors. On that note if you are under 21 or a child you must be accompanied by an adult in order to enter the building. Security is present in certain locations and are quite friendly which is a plus and very helpful for the safety of the public.I love the stories and science behind many of the local businesses wineries and breweries. It is a beautiful stamp to see their products on the market. The DABC does have its corporate office here in Salt Lake City which is where the warehouse is as well. All employees from the liquor stores to the corporate office are State employees and I am always grateful for the their diverse and friendly staff.
Dont ask the guy on his phone lurking behind the shelfs any questions just rude 😒
The cashiers at this location are always nice.
Didnt go inside lol
Good selection minimal wait. Safe clean and cdc guidelines in place.
Overall okay. inventory was crowded and not easy to find what i was looking for. as far as utah standards go, it was alright.
Everyone was very friendly and attentive
Pretty small parking lot for such a popular spot, gotta kinda play chess to get a parking spot. But otherwise the store itself is ok. Serves its purpose being a state liquor store, pretty decent selection overall. Staff was friendly and helpful.
They have liquor what more do I need to say amazing place just long lines
So the security guard just assaulted me. He yelled at me for not wearing a mask (I came In with one. I pulled my mask down for my inhaler due to not being able to breathe) and he came over and screamed and started recording. He then grabbed me by my arm. I’m on the phone with my lawyer. I will be pressingCharges.
Its a small store with a good selection for Utah. Get here early because parking is limited and this store gets busy.
They had Grey goose I was looking for
Following COVID measures. Its a downtown staple and the staff is always great however due to their size they are lacking some serious inventory othet liqor stores have such as more wine selections amongst other items.
No good for seguridad taker pic to costome for cleaning hand
As state liquor stores go this is probably a decent to above average store can be a little bit crowded be prepared know what you want avoid people outside there’s always some panhandling and parking lot is a potential accident hazard so please park carefully or don’t park in the parking lot and walk into the building but again this is a state run liquor store
It the only one open past 7pm.open till 10pm
Excellent staff and security. Sam will be one of the greatest people you have ever met.
