There are bigger wine stores, but this is the best one. Also great for premium spirits not always available at the other state stores. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Great selection of spirits. Be careful, they dont take down discounted prices, so you see a price and pay more. When it comes to a refund, to get something else at correct price, they say they cant that their cashier system is outdated. So just check prices, be careful, and enjoy their great variety.
Well stocked state run wine store! Very nice, extensive selection of wines and pleasant helpful staff.
Best wine store in Salt Lake City! All are NOT created equal as far as liquor stores go in Utah. If you are a wine lover - this is your place.
Really nice people. Limited selection. Really only good for wine. Always out of sake and no sky vodka anymore. Really?
Great selection of wine, limited selection of liquor.
Mainly a wine stire but they do carry a small selection of liquor and a bit of beer.
Loved the maps of where wines were made. Huge selection. Food pairing suggestions on the racks.
Great wine selection, not as big of a selection of beer or liquor. But still a nice place, friendly staff too! Parking gets bad on weekends/holidays
Great place to work, David and Pat are amazing people to work for
Went to the liquor store in the 5th of July and it was closed due to our countries Freedom Celebration falling on Sunday
Need wines .. this is the store in downtown salt lake .
If you have the money going here isnt too bad. They dont really sell liquor or beer it is more of a specialty wine store. Though they do have some craft beer and high quality liquors, but youre going to be spending more and the selection is small.
Love this liquor store. Wine selection is great and the people that work here are helpful and willing to offer recommendations when its not a crazy weekend evening.
Utah liquor stores are like out of state liquor stores except worse. This one is a good example of a decent liquor store okay selection of wines. Not much for beer, an okay selection of liquors. As with most liquor stores in utah an awful selection of ciders!
I really liked the wine maps of all the regions around the world where the wines they have displayed came from. Loved the variety of imports but was disappointed in the beer section. Not much variety
This is literary just a Wine Store. If you want anything stronger go someplace else. The DABC failed to mention this on ANY of theyre information posted about this location. So we wasted a trip and couldnt pick anything up before the other stores closed.
Its hard for me to judge because Im not from Utah. Long lines, expensive, choice of beer is very limited. They close early (6 or 7 pm I dont remember exactly) and they dont work on Sunday (as every other liquor store in Utah probably).
Five star for Utah. This location specializes in wine and has some of the best selections in Utah.
How many different types of liquor are there? A ton, apparently, and this is the place to buy them. Go here, its awesome
Worst manager ever he was so rude an offensive because we are Mexicans!!!! This is discrimination guys be careful
They were so helpful and nice
Excellent shop for wine. Great well curated collection.
Great wine selection.
Not a huge selection of whiskey, but still a good one.
It was fine. Had what I needed. The lady working the check out register was yelling at customers and seemed very frustrated.
The downtown Salt Lake Wine store is well organized despite they are undergoing a remodel. It was very busy Christmas Eve afternoon but they had all the registers going. We were able to pick up some beer, and wine with ease. The place was out of some popular items but there are so many choices. Nice store.
Parking is limited, they have a wide selection of wine liquors and a some beers, you get to met the most interesting people there.
Very solid wine selection. Some staff more knowledgeable than others. Overall a great store, even if its state-owned.
Has a pretty good selection
Very different from other SLC state run liquor stores. I love this place... the staff is super knowledgeable and passionate about wines. Ask a question, and they have answers or suggestions! Plus they have a massive selection of domestic and international wines to browse!
Tons of wine, very little local beer, but good enough selection. Really nice guy with orange finger nails was running the front. Will be back.
Great little liquor store. Very knowledgeable staff. Easy to navigate
Small winestore but well stocked!! Clean and friendly staff
This place has the nicest staff. I like the ginger liquors for making cocktails. They have nice premium Japanese whiskey.
The employees were very helpful, and required social distancing, which is important to me.They were only letting in 5 ppl at a time, which took about 10 minutes longer, but is worth it to me.
Clean!Inside and OutsideFriendly nice knowledgeable staff.
I cant say much for the inside because I was only there because my car was overheating and I was looking for a safer off the road place I could pull over and look under my hood without getting hit. I didnt know this area at all but, thankfully there you were with your big empty lot (because it was past your closing), which was AMAZINGLY clean and I had the safety of your cameras. I just wanted to thank you for that. I was able to look at my troubled engine and wait comfortably for my date to come pick me up there for our trip to the Theatre. Ill give you props on your well lit parking lot too, because when the lighting switched on...I realized just how handsome this man looked in his suit! He is so handsome in anything to me now. Hahaha I might have to come back to buy something...just because I owe you for that night!
The largest selection of wine in northern & central Utah. Employees are friendly and are able to at point you in the right direction. The decor on the walls are both beautiful & educational. Its a very interesting place that you can easily spend hours just reading the labels
Very impressive wine selection, particularly imports, which you dont see everywhere. Building and aisles are a little cramped.
Great. More focused on wine thoug
Eitherway
Well laid out and well lit with a huge selection. Staff are extremely capable and helpful. They make it as easy as they can considering we are talking about a liquor store in Utah.
Tell me why I was in line with my Fiancé today . Mind you I’m half white and Filipino but look Filipino and my fiancé is white . Did the man at the door tell us only one at a time after he let a white couple in ahead of us in together. I felt We were discriminated against!LikeAnswer
This store is specifically named because it is almost exclusively wine, if youre looking for something else, go to one of the other liquor stores. With that being said, the staff here are very courteous and helpful. I was able to give them my preferences and they gave me some great recommendations. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get some wine as a gift or for any parties.
Racist white lady cashiers! I was waiting for my turn to checkout. When my turn came she immediately made a cross sign with her arms and said she is closed now. As soon as I went to next counter. Within no seconds, I can clearly see she started checking out other white people. She specifically closed for me to avoid me. It was ridiculous to another level and shocking! I have never came across such racist white trash so far. If you are a Person of Color beware of this store!!
Very clean and organized with decent prices. I thought the selection could be a bit more varied, but for the size of the store they do have some nice wine. Parking can be hit or miss as the parking lot is a bit small but there is parking in the street close by. All in all a pretty good wine store in Salt Lake City.
Bit small. Good selection.
Really tired of the dabc, and the limited stores available. The workers do their best, but Utah needs drastic changes to the liquor store situation.
Pretty good for a state run Monopoly. Nice selection and the staff is super nice. Maybe some day we wont have to deal with this nonsense.
Pretty decent selection for a state run store. Im not a huge fan of state run booze shops.
Jessica was amazing. I have never experienced going into a wine store and having someone know so much about each of the wines that she had in the store, no matter which one you asked about. She was able to guide us quickly and easily after listening to what we were interested in. On top of that she was extremely down to earth, friendly and professional.
Need more help....raise the prices. The large markup/prices you have should be to pay more and get more employees. Actually eliminate alcohol being state owned!
Ive been to a few liquor stores around the salt lake area and this has one of the best wine selections Ive seen yet. Will definitely be coming back to restock when I run low. I love how they have so many reviews and points ratings posted. Very convenient!
I am new to Utah and learning the ropes. It is very nice to have people like Jessica go the extra mile to help enlighten me to the process. I cannot think of a time that I have visited the vine store that she has not been friendly and informative. Jessica, thank you for being patient and welcoming. DJ
Best selection in town
Best wine selection!
Great staff and great selection. If youre looking for a good variety of Rhone wine this is the place. I highly recommend the Domaine de la Mordoree wines.
Employees are courteous and helpful.
Love this wine store! great selection
Quite useful for a state run Monopoly. Decent determination and the staff is overly pleasant. Perhaps sometime we wont need to manage this gibberish.
One of the best selections in the state. The liquor selection ranges to higher end options, so go somewhere else for inexpensive home bar staples. Other than that, this is a fantastic location.
This is a good store if youre looking for a larger wine selection, or higher end liquor. If you want more beer, cider, or a wider variety of liquor check out the wine store on Harris Ave.
Great staff
It is clean and the service is good, friendly and knowledgeable. There are a few wines that they should carry, but the selection was nice.
While the are slim on anything else alcoholic, this is the place for wine. Probably why this is call the wine store, and not the liquor store. But the wine selection is really good, especially considering the building itself is rather small.
The best wine store, bar none, in the area. Excellent staff who either know the answer to your question or can quickly find another on staff that does. Wines for just about any budget. Having dinner and need a match? these guys can help. New to wine? these guys will gladly help you discover something great. They also provide a great, relaxed atmosphere that will make you wonder, Am I still in a DABC store? Regulars are treated as friends rather than a sale. And always interesting art work, changing every few months, from local artists as well as great music, both CD and vinyl. Yes, vinyl! And yes, they also have a very good selection of finer beers, local and imported, as well as mid/top shelf liquor. Go today! Dont drink bad wine!
I found in this store some really good vine last Wednesday. Generally they have very nice choice of vines, especially the red vine. Prices are also very reasonable. Good wine store.
I love this wine store! Great employees very great obscure wines you wont find anywhere else in Utah.
The best, most organized wine store in the Salt Lake valley! It does run out of the good wines as restaurants buy here.
The Utah Wine Store has an excellent selection of wines. And there are always great discounts. There is also a plethora of top shelf liquors and wines.
I dont know much about wine, I would appreciate a little more help. I do like the point placards.
Great wine selection for UT. Friendly employees. Parking is difficult.
Great staff with a lot of knowledge about wine I believe they have more than one sommelier working there.
Lots of wine a few other choices. Exactly what youd expect from a state run liquor store.
Went looking for organic wine, low in sulfites and sugar. A very helpful man introduced me to a Chilean brand named Cono Sur. Unfortunately the cashier wasnt as friendly or helpful. Great selection of wine here.
The normal employees are usually great but today the gangly “boss” with ferocious telangiectasia hassled me and announced he wouldn’t accept my out of state ID/drivers license. He had the competence and conversational skills of an underripe eggplant. I’ve frequented this location over 25 times and this is the first time that the “boss” denied my ID. These Utah natives are chalk full of ignorance and it wasn’t clear that he actually knew Florida was part of the United States of America or part of another country. I would recommend any other location plus their selection is minimal and mediocre at best.
Great staff, great liquor selection. Its an enjoyable experience vs. other liquor stores around. This place is my absolute favorite wine/ liquor store.
More of a specialty wine store. For those with a picky pallet this is the place.
Staff is not overly friendly, but the selection is great. They close early, so be sure to plan accordingly. Dont hesitate to ask for suggestions - as the staff may be standoffish, but are certainly very knowledgable.
Its ok. This particular store only sells higher-end liquors and wine.
Tired of Utahns reflexively dissing the DABC. The wine store is great. to of selection and some knowledgeable staff, and decent prices. Of course our Republican legislature is 100% hypocritical in its State monopoly of alcohol in Utah, but the stores themselves are just fine.Thought experiment: what would happen if a legislator proposed State control of retail firearms sales? Only approved brands sold by State employees who present identification?
If youre looking to get wine, not beer or liquor, this is the best place to go in Salt Lake. There selection is great and there is usually someone knowledgeable on staff to help you out if you want any suggestions. While they do have some beer and liquor, if youre explicit trying to stock up on those I would suggest going to a different location in town for a wider selection.
This wine store is pretty large and typically has a great selection of wine. There also some beers and liquors here, but as the name implies, most of the alcohol here is wine. The parking is decent and the location is easy to get to. The store is sadly closed at 1900 like most liquor stores in Utah.
Good place. Staff very helpful. If only the state government didnt have a choke hold on alcohol sales.
A good selection of wines and bubbly, friendly and helpful people. Clean store, organized well, and info displayed as you would expect. Its not a surprise, but this store needs to be bigger with more choices.
I was surprised by the extensive selection of wines.... lots of bottles that youd never see in California liquor stores. Also, most were a good value.
Very easy-going staff who will help you find anything you need. Not the biggest selection, but the best you are going to be able to get in Utah.
No whining in line please.
They have scotch here that isnt available at any other store in utah.
A great local store to get a bottle of yoyr favorite wine, or liqueur and there are even some good higher end beers and hard ciders from the friendly and attentive staff.
Excellent selection of wine! Great and knowledgeable staff that are very willing to help answer questions.
Go here, not the Liquor Store, for the best selection of wine. And, you can get some perfect pasteries across the street.
Great wine selection but weak in liquor beer, which given the few state run stores in the area sucks. Occupies prime downtown space while not providing a full service walkable liquor store to over 1000 residential units that are within a half mile. Forces us to drive to other destinations.
Visiting from AZ. Lived in UT for 22 years. Still some great wine selections.
I was denied my purchase because I have a VALID out-of-state drivers license. I then called the store to speak with the manager about the issue, and he hung up on me! Awful customer service.
How have I not known Utah has state-owned wine stores until now? I’ve always been disappointed with the options at the liquor store. Will definitely be coming back.
State monopoly. Everything is run by automation.
Great Wine selection in a convenient downtown location. Smaller selection of other alcohol but does have all the basics.
