I love book stores, but I miss the old B&N that had nice chairs to sit and peruse the books and people around to help. It was hard to find help, but easy to find over-priced coffee and cookies.
The lady putting out the Christmas puzzles was so helpful and went in the back to check and see if they had a different type for my mom. They had a whole display of Friends items (thats what I came in for) and I was able to stock up on some goodies!
When I go to this store I always wish I were more of an avid reader. So many interesting titles, very helpful employees. Always an enjoyable visit.
This is one of my favorite Barnes & Noble locations! The local area feels very safe and welcoming. The parking lot is very well-kept, the parking spaces are very wide and it’s easy to walk to the store safely.Once you enter the store it is easy to find what you are looking for. Everything in the store is very well organized and the staff are very welcoming and extremely helpful. They have a huge selection of books in stock, but if you are looking for something that’s not in stock they will help you find it in another location or have it shipped to you!One thing I love is the Starbucks inside the store. The Starbucks staff is so helpful, very kind, they make great coffee along with many other mixed drinks. If you have a sugar tooth you are in the right place. I’ve had some of the best cookies in that Starbucks! If you are looking for a good environment to sit down and read a book, have a cup of coffee or tea, meet good people, enjoy a conversation or just relax, than you are in the right place!I am looking forward too spending more time at this Barnes & Noble location.
If you are looking for Cds or DVD s Dont bother going . BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR RECORDS.Then maybe you will like it.
Went in to get a book for my five year old niece. So many books but have to really look through each book to figure out which books are good at certain reading levels. There needs to be a list or kiosk of what books are good for which age level.
Barnes & noble books learn to readLibrary dvds experience job creationAre they playing toys and video games tooScan card numbers enter name.
This place has a lot of books and magazines and readable objects I found a variety of cooking craft and design to tabletop and baby and finances in psychology theres a lot of good stuff here... and starbucks
Good service. They had the audio book I reserved.
Great and more attentive customer service. I needed some help with reading glasses and cashier went beyond to help. Love Starbucks service.
A bookstore that opens way too late for the working type. 9:30? That’s pitiful. Otherwise good shopping experience.
I love a good bookstore, I love the atmosphere, do not dig the prices though. Theyre often very high for books you can get over $10-$15 cheaper elsewhere. Its unfortunate, but it does break the bank a bit.
Ample table seating. Friendly baristas. Didnt feel rushed while reading and doing homework. Amazing book selection...of note i am a political conservative and noticed this was one of the few Barnes and Nobles that displayed not just liberal books (about Obama and Kamala) but also conservative books written by Rand Paul and Candace Owens. HUGE puzzle selection...i need to remember this place at Christmas time.
Get play boi carti and good rap vinyls all i see is trash garbage like prince and michael jackson. other than that store is good
This bookstore is always clean, well organized and very well stocked. I am primarily a Science Fiction reader, and they have a very nicely curated table of new sci-fi releases as well as plenty of bookshelf space and those shelves are stocked thoughtfully, someone has their finger on the pulse of whats happening in the genre. I am impressed by the hard work the staff has put into making the available selections broad and inclusive.
Good service and selection. High prices, dirty carpet, and no sofas or enugh benches to sit on.
Loved this book store. They seem so rare these days. Picked up two childrens books and my daughter loved them.
Jessica was kind and helpful. The cashier Nicolas was also very nice..
Its so nice to be able to shop in a book store again! Definitely enjoyed the atmosphere, and still felt safe.
Had the book I wanted, in a good part of town, no homeless pan handlers.
I think I’m just glad they’re still open. The store was clean and well stocked. Employees were courteous and helpful, but there should have been more than one cashier so close to closing time.
Very clean and well managed. Everyone was helpful and nice
Staff was friendly and safety precautions were in place. Still have great selection. Was able to pick up early learning books and something for my self with ease
Its okay. The staff are kind of weird and not very friendly and it would be nice if I could actually charge my computer, but there were no places to plug in at the starbucks they had inside the store.
I liked it. Very Nice and Clean. Keep it up.
This pandemic Christmas season was bare in the store (customers). Customer service never fails. Bathrooms are always clean. I did not get my usual coffee. The Health & Wellness section finally grew & got organized. No longer a bunch of books slammed together. You can clearly SEE yoga, from living to cooking, coaching to massage, etc. Its my new happy two sections!
Excellent service. Clean and well organized.
While I read almost exclusively on my Kindle due to eyesight, there really is something about a bookstore that is so amazing that we go here and buy things. The game selection is quite good and if you are looking for a family board game this is a great place to find one. The coffee shop is excellent as well and you get your BnN discount on drinks and food. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
Incredibly helpful staff, clean restrooms, the Starbucks Cafe was very clean and the staff was also very helpful. Everything was very well priced.
Northwoods is one of the better B&Ns in San Antonio, at least based on their selection, plus it seems that they floor-stock more books in the higher-risk-of-theft category, such as hardbound manga. Not their fault, but they lose a star because the area traffic is always so bad.
Good old bookstore. Also some gift shop stuff to buy. Good candles and Starbucks inside. Chill out library vibe...relaxing
The staff here is always very nice! Everything is always very nicely organized & kept clean.
Books. Enough said. Great selection available
I didnt purchase anything. But they have alot of books
Love this place people are so nice and its super clean
Didnt have the book I wanted, but still an extremely large variety of books, found some other stuff that piqued my interest anyway
What can I say about Barnes & Noble except that it is an incredible store. This location in particular has insanely good customer service.Im pretty sure that theyre hiring practices at this branch is one of the best of any branch in this area. The people that work there to a person seem genuinely enthusiastic about books and reading.
Great bookstore to browse and find your next favorite book. Great people, great service!
Always enjoy my visits there. Friendly staff. Good cafe. Great place to relax and browse.
I have not been in Barnes and Noble since the Covid virus started so it was different. They have rearranged the whole store making smaller grouped sections which I liked. But they now have no place to sit other than the 5 tables at Starbucks. Im glad they are back to being open just will be happier when I have a place to sit and look at books.
People are as always when you visit a nice stir are very informative and have a great knowledge. They had no issue with walking a guy/woman around to look for exactly what they were looking for.
Always love getting lost in all the books
It is always a new adventure to get into Barnes & Noble and this one is no exception.
Always enjoy going to Barnes & Noble. This bookseller has a large assortment of books, magazines, childrens books, etc. If they do not have the book or magazine yoi are looking for you can generally locate an employee who will look to see if they can order it to their store or order for delivery to your home. The store has an assortment of items for purchase outside of books and magazines - they carry knick knack type items for the reader, different Funko Pops, some board games, collectibles, puzzles, kids toys (infant to older kiddos) - stuffed toys, some Barbie, Melissa & Doug, Lego, Haba, Pepper Pig, etc. The Starbucks in the Barnes & Noble is a nice added treat. During Holidays they generally highlight different Books/Authors that have topics that encompass the upcoming Holiday. On occasion this particular Barnes & Noble has also had Author visits. Due to the current Pandemic/Covid19 there is a mask policy for the store at this time (April 2021). There is ample parking in the shopping complex. Once youre done visiting the Barnes & Noble there are a few other shops to visit and several restaurants close by.
Something for everybody. Especially, unique games and puzzles. Try the spinach and feta pretzel. Taste so good.
Ive been coming here for years, not much has changed except the addition of the coffee shop years ago. Nice staff and lovely selection.
Wide selection of games, puzzles, and Funko Pop, which I wasnt expecting. Great store employees, friendly and knowledgeable, too!
They ordered the book I was looking for and said it will be there in a week and then they will call me
I love this location. The store has a great selection of books, gifts, toys, and sales items. The staff is friendly and its so nice to be able to still have a brick and mortar store to buy from.
Love this place. Like going to another world. You can go anywhere in books.
Nice place to find a good book.
Nice place to shop for all your reading needs. They also have a limited selection of gifts. The staff is helpful and for the most part are happy to help.
Pricey books. But they have tons of manga!
Ehhh.i mean i like this store but this particular location they seem very rude. As we were in the front looking at knick knacks and book marks the stayed openly gawking at us like we were going to steal stuff. Very rude.
This location was clean and quiet. :)
Lacks entertainment center and has less reading selection due to large toy sections.
Good place for readers and nerds also a kid book area
Enjoyable. As always.
I go here for manga and they usually have a different inventory than other locations.
I enjoy checking out all the latest books and games that they offer. The store is clean and well organized. The coffee shop also provides tasty treats.
I spent 2 hours. I did find more than I wanted, though most of it @ reduced prices. A$30 book that interested me might have substituted and lowered the bill, but now I please 3-4 other people with activity books and a special interest magazine. The intellect of a country comes also out of books. Read, read, read - governance ought to subvention knowledge for best sustenance.
Starbucks Cafe the best had me a Chipotle turkey sandwich delicious .come by and try it sometime also great place to read a book .
Friendly employees, nice selection, only thing is its on the smaller side as far and Barnes& Nobles go
Since we are in a pandemic, not very busy or packed. So it was nice to stroll leisurely through the store with my son.Friendly staff willing to help you find things.
Barnes and nobles, smells like coffee and has alot of books to read. I feel smart there, and want to just go there in my pajamas. Its great.
Pretty good, however I needed assistance & could not find someone to help me; I was at the back of the store and not able to walk to the front, back, & again to the front.
Always great. Everything youre looking for, and often times, things you didnt know youre looking for.
I love barnes and noble, always have, and there really isnt a better place if you want new hardcovers. The membership makes it worth it. I also appreciate the amount of LGBTQ+ literature and products. I feel welcome here.
Nice, quiet place with a huge selection. Board games too.
Atmosphere is good and safe. Customer service is very good.
Too many Karens telling me to wear mask in cafe while I drink with company. Managers not professional asking me to do what I already do bc Karens complain I dont wear mask drinking my beverages. Rude and overly sensitive batista never smile bad customer service. Sulky faces everywhere.
Found amazing deals on books Ive been looking for, cashier was very friendly
Great book store! Wide variety of books, collectors items, toys, and decent sized store with a café!
Store is clean, staff is nice, good selection.
I loved the whole experience! Cant wait to go back!!!
This place is always clean and organized. The cashiers are always nice.
What a lovely place. I called and had a book put on hold so I could pick it up for a Christmas gift, and I was in and out in 10 minutes during the holiday rush. The staff members I interacted with were polite, understanding, and helpful. I would definitely visit this store next time Im in the area.
Could spend the day in there, awesome gifts
Table dirty, why? Only four tables available, not busy, why? Considering COVID-19, why?
Theyve got an interesting set up here compared to the other two I frequent in my area. Ive actually found books I can get behind here somehow even though Im sure most Barnes & Nobles have the exact same stock. All in all, its a 10/10 for me in this store! Keep up the good work yall!
Big generic bookstore selling typical liberal junk books. On the positive side, you can order a book and have it shipped there for pickup.
Great selections, good prices, and easy shopping experience. I did spend some time wandering around looking for the hardback edition of a book. Several employees walked right by me without even asking if I needed help. When I went to checkout there were several people in line, and only one cashier. But they quickly added a second cashier which was great.
Nice, quiet and clean, the prices were a little high on the funko pops.
Its been years since I walked into a Barnes and Nobles. Ill be honest I purchased a kindle and tried reading ebooks. However I have found that there truly isnt anything as satisfying as holding an actual book and turning its pages. This location is extremely kid friendly with lots of childrens books and toy areas. It almost resembles a toy store in the rear of store. Highly recommend bringing your kids and encourage your kids to read.
Great location. Good hours. Always kept tidy. The staff go around and clean up books and other products that have been left out by people on a regular basis. Friendly staff and they always are helpful finding things, etc.
Took awhile to find it, bit there it was! Love Barnes and Nobles. They always have what I want.
Nice location, there are no study tables in the actual store usually, your best bet is the cafe they have there. There are only two plug areas available and most of the time people remain at them for hours. The facility is clean and comfortable, the space is very large and contains more books than the location on 281 and San Pedro, granted it does not have as many as the La Cantera location, but less individuals frequent this location for the vast amount of book selections that can be found at the larger location.
Very Good Employees know me wellI used to go once a week but because of COVID 19 I go once a monthI live in Stonewall so it is about a hour away to 281 and .1604 in Central San Antonio at Northwoods Shopping center .I like thier Employees they treat me well .
We had a nice visit to this B&N. We started with great coffees and blueberry scones at the in-store Starbucks. The super staff there had a warm welcome for us. We love browsing the amazing assortment of books and magazines at these stores, and this one had many sales and good deals. Lots of friendly staff to help you find the perfect gift or good read to fit your style.
This store is always clean and organized. I always enjoy my visits here.
Lots of books but the Sci-Fi section is all but removed. At least they now have the benches back outside.
This is my favorite bookstore in the city. I love buying and selling books here. There is a large selection of new and used books for any interest. Ive also attended incredible book talks in their little upstairs room. Everyone is super friendly. Doesnt get better than Green Apple Books.
Its a lovely place- I love books...now and days people dont like them as much so it is refreshing to see people still go here
I expected to see intellectual toys next to childrens books, but most of the toys were just stuffed animals and cartoon characters.
