Crowded the night before Halloween but service was great and ice cream even better!

I went in for some ice cream with my toddler and a worker around her 40’s was being very rude and slamming stuff around. The ice cream was fine but I wish she had been more professional and not scared my child.

Went fourth of July weekend...knew it would be busy, even expected it. But with only 2 workers on one of the busiest days of the year? Come on management...you can do better or at least try to manage a store better. One girl worker keep putting the mixers in the dirty sink, then reusing them. Just awful.

This place is a joke, the ice cream was good but very rude customer service. Manager Roxane i think was her name had attitude towards me and seems to not like her job

The ice cream is good and it’s great that the establishment follows covid regulations. However, I rate it one star only because of the horrible customer service some of the staff delivers.

Love Häagen-dazs the only issue was that the room was super hot as soon as you enter. Thank God for Ice cream!! Althiugh they didnt have the variety of Smoothies that they were promoting.

Question: How can one go wrong when choosing Haagen-Dazs ice cream?Answer: When one purchases it from the Haagen-Daz store adjacent to the Alamo.I never realized how poor customer service could absolutely ruin what should be a fun, memorable experience. After we purchased ice cream, smoothies, sodas and waters, and sat down on the window sills (clearly built for that purpose) to enjoy our treats, we were asked if our “take out” order was complete. Confused, we responded we didn’t place a take out order, to which the young man behind the counter smirked and stated: “if you have your whole order, you need to leave - you can’t stay in here and eat.” We were taken back by his tone, rudeness and disrespect, we truly thought he was joking. It was 95 outside, we just spent $30+ on ice cream, we were the ONLY customers in the store and the employee(s) was telling us we had to leave. There was no sign anywhere indicating this policy. This was not a COVID issue as the sign on the door indicated “masks optional but appreciated’. Our daughter and son-in-law helped their 4 and 6 year olds out the door as it became apparent confronting us was a sport and afternoon entertainment for the staff. When did treating your grandchildren to ice cream become a questionable outing? At 3:19 p.m. on June 18, 2021, at the Haagen Dazs in the Alamo Plaza.

This store is wonderful. They donated iced milk to my family after the 2021 power outage crisis when we couldn’t get any dairy! Not to mention, their ice cream is fantastic:)

5 star stop on a hot Alamo visit day.

Carmel cone flavor is delicious. The small Kiddie Scoop is perfect after dinner. Great quality but pricy at $3.99 for the smallest size.

This is by the Alamo. The line might be long, but at 105 degrees during July & August...

Ice cream parlor does not have any ice cream. We came in the store about 15 before closing and every flavor we asked for he didnt have. Then we asked for a smoothie. He didnt have that flavor either. Every flavor they were out of. How does an ice cream parlor run out of every flavor ice cream and smoothies?

I’ve been there a couple of times, and the ice cream is delicious don’t get me wrong. The bad experience we had is more related with wrong information here on google maps. We know during the pandemic some places are closed, so we decided to check first on google maps if it was going to be open at the time of our arrival. For our surprise, it was closed even though google maps indicated open until 10pm. We went on a Sunday around 5pm. What a disappointment for my family and me. 😔

Service kind of unorganized and slow it could have been a better experience seeing how its right across the street from a major tourist attraction the Alamo. Come on business knocking get it together

Walked in while other customers were being served to be told he was “closed” and we needed to come back in 30 minutes. What a joke.

Visiting and after walking 20 minutes to this location, we got there and they were closed! Hours online state that they close at 8pm and we were greeted with a locked door at 7:30pm. I felt like crying!

Excellent variety & good Service, but the customer area is small. There isnt any tables or chairs around. The lower ledge of the front glass walls have been extended & raised to offer what seems to be the seating area. Although the Service is fast enough to justify the absence of a waiting area, it would be welcoming to see a small eating area. Hours are also not posted. I got a verbal list from an employee upon my request.

Staff was friendly and enthusiastic they were very helpful and accommodating when asked to customize our order they were happy to do so.Although it was busy and we were visiting late, no frustrated faces were to be found.I think this is a great place to stop for some frozen treats while downtown and in the alamo plaza area

My drink was delicious. This place is always busy and there isnt much room in the building so forming a line is kind of difficult.

Randomly closed for no reason in the middle of the day. A staff member was there, but they turned us away 🤷‍♂️

It was very busy. With just 3 workers, they were polite and accommodated everyone . It got a bit mixed up with who was next because there was no LINE STARTS HERE sign and so that got a bit frustrating. The food and service were great though. I even lost my phone in their store. Running back to the river walk I used my moms phone to call and they answered to say they had it. Went back and before she handed me my phone she asked for my name, Id, what type of phone and color. It made me feel good knowing they wouldnt just hand the phone over to just anyone. They did great.

The ice cream is great obviously, nice location and staff, however I don’t like the fact that they force you to tip when you wanna pay! They are already getting paid to pour your ice cream in the cup or cone and are not coming in front of the store like a waiter so no tip should be necessary!!

Went in their store around 9:00 pm. Waited patiently for 20 minutes as the two workers assisted other customers in front of me. When my turn was next the young man stated helping someone else. When I told him that I was here before them he said oh well I didn’t see you. Rude and poor customer service. After helping that person, while I was still waiting, he started helping another person. Very rude. The other lady worker never once acknowledged me being there or thanked me for being patient. Very poor service at this store. I would rate them a zero if I could.

It should have been a 5 . When we walked in, it was 30 min before the posted time to close and one employee was mopping one side of the store . Soon after we walked in, another group of people came in also . The employee who was mopping was clearly irritated that we all came in . He stuck the broom back in the bucket, left it there and walked around us to the back .I heard one customer whisper to another whats his problem?Thankfully, our remaining time there was very pleasant. The young lady behind the counter was very friendly and the new sundaes are amazing !As for the employee who was mopping during business hours ? He came to the front and asked if anyone needed help . Are you kidding me ? Do us all a favor and go find another job that doesnt require you to interact with the public and when you realize that doesnt exist, your patience would be greatlyappreciated while we come into the establishment your working for, interrupt your side-work and spend our money.

The ice cream is very good. Theres a nice selection to choose from. The staff was extremely friendly. The prices were high.

Its hard to find many Haagen-Dazs ice cream shops.So finding this one was a real treat,I honestly wish they had more locations. Because this ice cream is the best hands down.They have something for you everyone.

This place is not very well maintained. Rashes napkins all over the floor and the floor looks like it hasn’t been wiped in a while. No adequate seating.

My son use to work there many years ago and I would offer to pick him up after work just so I could indulge in a coffee icecream shake. Omg!!! Its amazing. But now my son is out of college and grown so I have to find new excuses to go down their for nothing more then one of these amazing creations . If your looking to try something different I suggest a coffee icecream shake. 🥰🥰

So,so...Im hoping to locate an ice cream parlor i can stick too, when i go downtown. Staff was medium warm on friendliness. Wish theyd do something about the Sun beeming down on people on that one side. Ice cream needed refilled barrels.

Fantastic flavor. Awesome location. High school drop out run the place, so please dont expect courtesy or friendly service. If you can tolerate this, Id say this is a great place to get your ice cream and walk across the street to sit and enjoy the park.

Waited 35 minutes in line for ice cream with only five families in front of us (at 7pm, Sun Dec 29). We left out of frustration, three groups behind us left too. They didn’t have two of their most common flavors: classic cookies and cream & mint chip. Terrible service; they lost a lot of business with all the families that left.

Its Haagen Dazs ice cream so obviously its delicious! A little pricey though! I would stick to getting plain ice cream over any of the shakes or drinks.

Its ice cream....how can it be bad. The service was ok, minimal effort to speak on the servers part. A single scoop waffle cone, BTW they only have waffle cones, is almost $6. The smallest serving in a cup is $4. Kinda pricey. Great location, all the horse drawn buggies line-up right outside the door

Good location. Right beside the Alamo and other downtown attractions. Close to The Shops at Rivercenter. Do some shopping check out the attractions then grab an Ice Cream and sit in the park across from it and watch the horse drawn carriages drive by.

Good Ice cream, I am usually one for fruity flavors so I tend to get their sherberts, doesnt dissapoint.

False advertising!!! The prices on the menu board were wrong and no one cares to inform you. When I pointed to the menu at the register after the surprise bill, the nonchalant response I got was the menu is wrong at its wasnt her fault. I could return the ice cream or transfer it to a cup and return the cone to avoid the extra cost. I could also return the next day to talk to her manager.My order was two minis in a sugar cone. The menu listed both cup and cone at $3.99. The lady said there was no sugar cone and asked if waffle was okay. I asked if it was still considered a mini (meaning both price and size). She said yes. That would have been her opportunity to inform me of the price difference and incorrect menu. NOPE!! Only to get $2+ extra charge at the register!! You try prying ice cream out of a childs hand.... anyway, I reluctantly paid the extra and informed her theirs would be my first post on social media.

My coworkers like to come here for ice cream time to time. Every time I go here it has a smells like old mop water or something. Otherwise​ its a good spot for ice cream if you downtown.

This ice cream is good, creamy & yummy. We visit downtown, Alamo, the Plaza & River Walk while snacking some German Haagen Dazs ice cream.

On vacation and I wanted to try a new ice cream parlor. However when we arrived at 10:36 on friday, staff told us they were already closed. I guess in Texas you should stick to the good brands you know who close when they advertise they close. I.e. 11:00.

I got a Strawberry Banana smoothie and a Cookies and Cream Milkshake. The milkshake could be slightly thicker in my opinion but it tasted great. The staff was very friendly.

I ordered a cookies and cream shake and it only tasted like milk in a cup with no flavor! Angela G, very unprofessional and unproductive refused to help us and move to help another lady in line behind us. I got one shake and cup of ice cream, When I asked for a refund she implied I was trying to steal the cup of ice cream after I specifically said I only wanted a refund on the shake since it was practically a glass of milk! Very rude and unprofessional I will never come to this place again! This happened in San Antonio Texas!

Excellent ice cream and quick service but a little pricey

I used to love this place but after being there last night I will never return! Terrible, disrespectful people work here and Im appalled!! While waiting to be served I witnessed them be completely rude and then flat out lie to a customer who wanted to exchange a piece of clothing she had purchased, then a girl came in that was friends of an employee and she was sitting in the back and had been sitting back there for a good 20 mins without anyone saying a word, I then walked into the same sitting area while my husband waited in line and one of the employees very disrespectfully told me to get out of that area that it was closed!! Then they told the friend to come hang out behind the counter (glad non employees can contaminate the food area) then to top it off the typical flavors they always have they were out of (sherbets and chocolate)!!!! after waiting 30 mins in a crowded tiny space since the bigger space in the back was closed! So disappointed in what this place has become and I will be sure to let the world know how rude they are!!!

Delicious ice cream and the place was very clean and had AC! Great for tourists that need a break from the humidity!

Wife got a milkshake and it was just sort of whatever. Not thick at all and with weird chocolate shaved chunks kind of floating around in it. Super expensive too considering the quality was kind of sub par.
