Alex is the best! Have never experienced customer service at a liquor store at all, much less top notch customer service. Great selection, always trying and buying new things.

Best “All Round” spirits company in San Antonio. This company knows what it’s doing. If they don’t have it, they ask about it and sometimes, all of a sudden .... bang! ..... there it is on the shelf. Alex at the Thousand Oaks store is awesome. As are the whole crew! Texas born and bred!

It was ok. Selection is great but service was not that good. Barely even addressed me but made sure other people were taken care of. Im not sure if its cause I wasnt spending a large amount of money or what but I was pretty much ignored.

I’m amazed at the volume. They’ve got bottles stacked from the floor to the ceiling. Alamo City Liquor will not disappoint you!!! I recommend the Hamilton brand rums.

Ok so I have to say that i am a scotch lover and whiskeys as well but I tend to go for the scotch first. When I walked in this place I was amazed at the variety that is there and OH MY LIQUOR HEAVEN was there a variety. I have not seen that many bottles of scotch and whiskey since I was back home in Florida. Now with that said the prices are up just a little from my regular store Don And Bens but this place has Scotch and I have found my new palace of liquor. Come check out Alamo city liquor store its well worth just stopping in. The staff is friendly knowledgeable and vendors do set up for taste testing. Go see for yourself!!!!

This is a hidden gem in town. Large selection of quality liquor from the standards to high end. And they have some really nice beers and bombers in the cooler. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Excellent business. They have an extraordinary selection. Items I thought were unavailable in San Antonio. Small business with a vast inventory. Alex is the definition of customer service and knows her stuff. Prices are slightly higher than Total Wine, but just by a couple of dollars, Im fine with that because Id rather support a mom and pop place instead of a big box store.

Pretty great selection, but its pretty claustrophobic in there since the liquor is stacked to the ceiling! Its also pretty dang expensive compared to some other liquor stores.

I went in on a whim thinking I would not find the two Johnnie Walker whisky bottles I was looking for but low and behold, they had plenty. They even had one that I thought I had missed out on. I had gone to three different big name liquor stores and they nothing of what I was looking for. The lady at the counter was so very friendly and helpful. She even recommended a couple of other whiskies. I will be going to Alamo City Liquor from now on.

Id say this is easily the best liquor store I have ever personally been in. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and holy heck this place has an amazing whiskey selection! Bourbon collecting has become my new favorite Friday hobby and Alex @ Alamo always seems to know just what to suggest. I have a lovely assortment of bourbon currently thanks to this store and I look forward to continuing to grow my collection thanks to their extensive stock. Honestly, I just really dig Alamo Liquor; theyre awesome in all the right ways!

Small store but great selection! Oftentimes I want something unusual for cooking or a drink recipe, and they have it while others dont. This is my favorite liquor store.

Jan 2020 If youre just wanting a single beer and only have credit or debit cards you will want to stay away from here. They dont want your money unless its over $5. This business doesnt even have a sign on the front door or on their coolers telling you they will only take cash if less then $5. Left very unhappy and deleted my old 5 star.

Went in looking for a specific liqueur and even though they didnt have it, the people were super helpful and nice and told me when they would have it.

Truly the best Bourbon, Scotch and craft Mezcal selections in town. Frank, the manager, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are competitive and I love the fact that its privately owned.

This place is stacked from floor to ceiling. They have a unique selection and great service.My husband and I laughed so hard when we read the review suggesting that awful Dons and Bens across the street. That is obviously someone from the store. I wish we could post a comparison photograph. 😂😂😂 We always go to Alamo City Liquor because the other places near by are a joke.

Hands down best place in the city for spirits, apertifs, mixers, and information! Go to the location on Jones Maltsberger & Thousand Oaks and ask for Alex. HUGE collection of local and hard to find items. Often has tastings on Friday or Saturday late afternoon / early evening. Well worth a drive!

This is the worst liquor store Ive ever been in. Terrible service from a surly and condescending clerk combined with the highest prices in this part of town. Try the much friendlier and better stocked Dons and Bens across the street in the Adobe Shopping Center.This place gets NO STARS. I only give it one because Google wont let me give it none.
