Cant say enough about this place.. My wife had her baby shower here and we just had our daughters baptism party here. Both were a huge success! The staff is top notch and friendly always providing excellent service and very professional on setting everything up! Even with the huge storm and no power we were still able to have our party there and with no issus! Love you Mints and Honey.. We will be back to book our next event soon! Food A+ and the homemade lemonade was EXCELLENT!
Service and food was excellent. Lovely brunch with my teen daughter. Restaurant decor is sweet. Years ago, San Carlos had a small restaurant called the English Rose that I would brunch often with friends, even my bridal shower. This is a much cooler next generation spot. She was excited to tell her friends about it which makes me smile.
San Carlos downtown has a great choice of options for food and drinks, this is definitely one of my favourites for brunch at the moment. Food is really good and they have this outdoor sitting area in a not very busy road that is really nice. For a change of normal brunch choices, I would recommend trying the soup, it was amazing!
The sandwiches are great, the iced lattes are perfect. If youre in and around the neighborhood, definitely try this place. Our order between two people : classic waffles + waffles with banana and whipped cream + avocado egg toast + tomato basil mozzarella sandwich with soup and vanilla iced lattes.. All highly recommended
Delicious toast and great vibe! Adorable place with great energyβοΈ
Overrated. Staff did not even wear mask or attempt to social distance. Food is bland (I got the avocado toast) and the drink wasnβt even that good even though it said itβs a tea house (I got the peach black tea).I would rate 3.5 for food and drink, 4.5 for atmosphere, 4 for customer service and 1 for covid awareness.
Pretty good. The food was solid, and the atmosphere was fun. Pricey for what you get, but its in RWC so its not a shock.
The space is small and lots of families come for the childrens play area. Our family loves this place as it is dog friendly and a great place in between SF and the South Bay.Parking is limited but you are close to downtown and parking is nearby or you can find street parking. The menu is very creative variations for breakfast but doesnt include many proteins. The coffee and tea options are plenty and we also enjoyed the kids hot chocolate.
Small and cozy breakfast placeIt is located in a very awkward spot, folks need to park on the street and enter in the back alley and not on the El Camino side. This is a not a good place to be at it if youre with a big group (including kids). Play room/kids areas small as well.Food and presentation was decent but quality did not have a wow factor imho. Anyone can make their avocado toast/salmon waffle, but were just too lazy to make our own. This is still a good decent breakfast place in the area should you opt out driving to the city.Minus 2 stars due to-Mediocre taste wise-Very very awkward when placing order especially when its at peak time. You try to keep the queue from staff/guests to pass by and at the same time not to bother folks who are seated and trying to enjoy their breakfast. We understand theres private events during business hours, but it was soooo uncomfortable, that the place looked crowded when it reality it was just due to folks trying to place their order while in queue and there was not enough tables to be utilized. It would be nice if they reassigned their private events after business hours.
Amazing, cozy ambiance. Great place to work from for a bit. The coffee was spectacular too. Nice selection of snacks as well.
This place is pretty cool! They have lots of great options for drinks which include a wide selection of matcha as well as boba tea and your typical espresso-based drinks. The atmosphere is also pretty cool, with plenty of outdoor sitting and an indoor area that feels like a living room. The toasts and waffles are also excellent, with a solid avo toast and a delicious berries and yoghurt waffle.
Favorite breakfast place! They have wide selection of waffles, sweet and sour toasts, lattes and milk teas. And everything tastes just perfect ππ»The staff is welcoming too.Open for indoor dining already.
I came here twice. One is on weekday afternoon and the other is a Saturday afternoon. Weekday afternoon was not crowded but kids were running around. So if you want a quite place to enjoy your afternoon, here probably will not be your first choice. I ordered a latte and a chicken curry sandwich on the weekday afternoon. Both of them were decent. Prices are a little on the high side but not extreme.I decided to take my husband back on Saturday. They closed the big sitting area for an activity. So all you had is a very small indoor sitting and not very big outdoor sitting on the back. It was packed. I ordered a regular black ice tea. Quality of the tea was very bad. You can taste the sourness from the tea. IWe also ordered waffle. There were only 3 pcs of waffles and some of them had couple of holes. It is $9.. Waffles come in 4 pcs, not 3. My husband was not happy. Waffles did not taste good either. I think it is a overpriced place for certain items. The environment is not very pleasant. Chairs are hard to sit long. You feel uncomfortable when you stay over half hour.
Who knew βToastsβ could be SO delicious?!! Tried curried chicken & egg salad toasts, both delicious, now working my way through menu. MH Tower is a modern version of a high tea like treat. Scone was flavorful, iced Chai tea, everything Iβve tried so far was enjoyable. Even their homemade rose jam is wonderful! M & H offers a wide variety of both savories & sweets. Works well as a take out in these COVID times.
Evacuated from Santa Cruz and staying in San Carlos I needed good coffee and was happy to find it here. I was slightly disappointed by the lack of latte art and a little bit too much foam, but delighted by the atmosphere, service, and other menu items so the next day we came back for breakfast. The food here is fantastic if you enjoy California cuisine and the prices were reasonable. Very nice.
Always great! Lots of vegetarian options for breakfast.
I love Mints & Honey! Their takeout is just as good as when youre actually sitting down in the restaurant. (Definitely try their churro waffles)
Their lavender oat milk lattes are to die for! I appreciate the variety of non-dairy milk options :) The toast sampler is tasty and beautiful as well. Great spot for young adults or families. Rather eco-concious as well :)
Oh very delicious foods.good service and nice area and very clean.
Although I havent been to the physical restaurant, I did have the opportunity to enjoy the MH Tea Tower w/toast (I forgot to take pictures before I started to nibble). Oh my goodness, the bread was hearty but soft, and the ingredients were very fresh. The presentation was also on point! Give this place a try for sure!
The tea was decent but Oh My God was the customer service the worst thing I have ever experienced. Caucasian guy at the counter didnt know anything about the teas and would not give me a punch card. I wanted to come back here but he kept insisting they dont give punches on the first visit what the hell?? I bought 5 teas and will never go back. BS like theyre the only game in town. I am glad they were able to save 75 cents by not giving me a punch card for the 10th free tea!
Itβs a great place to have a drink or eat. The atmosphere is very friendly and the staff are extremely helpful. The drinks that I ordered were excellent and satisfying. I will be coming back again.
Food delicious. Not a lot of options but everything was yummy. We had soup and sandwiches.
I am Speechless, the food is good
The serve some really good waffles!
The food is great but the atmosphere is even better and the staff are so nice!
Picked up a wonderful Rose Strawberry Waffle and more from Mints and Honey this morning as a Motherβs Day gift from my son. So happy to have discovered this delightful cafe. Iβll return often.
Even in coronas time in was delicious. And the plating is adorable. Also the stuff is very nice.
I attended a baby shower at Mint and Honey yesterday. Itβs the perfect place for such an event. The food was light and delicious and the beverages were all hand crafted. I didnβt expect to get a decaf almond milk latte! And it was probably the best I have ever had! The event space is very nice with all the special touches that make it very comfortable.
Great place for a healthy bite after a refreshing walk at the seal point park at San Mateo.
A super tasty treat and very sweet staff. Preordered for our staff (100 drinks) and they wrote adorable messages on every single cup! W o w
The foods and drinks are very good overall. Will come back next time.
Online search for breakfast with a play area suggested this restaurant. The WORST experience if you are REALLY looking for a child friendly restaurant. EXTREMELY cramped; play area consists of a pass-thru area for servers & patrons which contains some books & toys. Our party consisted of 3 kids & two adults. Food was served with two plates & three table settings. Tiny restaurant was packed; based on reviews?. The food (think tea party) was good; thus 2 stars. The Server never cracked a smile or acknowledged/greeted anyone. So, a decent place for NO kids OR kids who sit still & quiet throughout a meal. Otherwise, dont bother!
Lovely small cafe for coffee and brunch. Their toast selections are huge meals by themselves. Yummy! Cute outdoor patio in the back. Could be a great place to work from but can be noisy as itβs also popular with the stay-at-home moms.
Tastes as good as it looks!
Love eclectic places like that. Hidden gem. Easy to miss, entrance is via the alley. Good food. Slightly pricy but the quality is there.
I love this place! Its a hidden gem/adorable hole-in-the-wall place that has perfect food sizes for ordering a several dishes and sharing. Definitely not large portions but delicious for a lighter meal!
Been wanting to come here for a while, finally came last weekend and Ive been two more times this week to try out other menu items. Everything Ive had has been amazing- lavender latte, butterfly coconut mango tea, and pictured is a butterfly pink lemonade. Toast is outstanding and I will probably choose that over waffles in the future. Also, scones are to die for. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone looking for fancy toast and a yummy colorful drink.
On the location: Parking is on the street but thereβs plenty of spots around the neighborhood. Itβs located next to Trader Joeβs and is easy to miss if youβre not looking for it but itβs such a cute spot. If youβre entering from the street head to the rear of the building to place your order. On the food: I went for brunch on Saturday and got the pick assortment which is a half toast of any savory or sweet toast. The egg salad and avocado toast was so delicious. They also had a good assortment of matcha lattes, teas and coffee.Overall highly recommend this spot.
Nothing spectacular
Love the surrounding....The only comment is more for the business: when your customer asks for no cheese due to dietary reason, you dont just take the food in, remove the cheese and bring the food back out. The expectation is for you to make a new one without the cheese to start with!
Delicious!
The best mocha Ive ever had. Almond milk, decaf, such good chocolate, not too sweet.
Mints & Honey did the best job i ever could ask for last year for my wedding. Everything was what I wanted and they coordinated well with the site vendor. They provided me a stress free wedding, and worked within my budget. They were honest and genuine and most importantly they hear what I wanted with my theme. Everyone wanted my flowers and i even had to have my MC announce they could not take them home. They are the best Ive talked to and worked with and definitely looking forward to their new space for my future needs. Thanks Mints & Honey
Expect a wait, but itll be worth it! You can always wait in the cafe next door. I got the Mints & Honey - Handcrafted Coffee + Tea for with tomato on top of a biscuit, and my goodness, I still dream about it today. Im from the South, and I was not disappointed. The biscuit doesnt leaving you feel disgusting or as if youve eaten a stick of butter, instead the Mints & Honey - Handcrafted Coffee + Tea just has you craving more! The Egg Shop deserves a repeat visit!
Great coffee with a good variety of selections.
Waffles with Ricotta Cheese is amazing.Their avocado toast has never failed me either. The space is cute, parking is a bit hard, but cute places never come with large parking lots.Make sure you order everything you want, because you will want to come back.
Awesome food and ambience - but for family friendly place, 2 hugh chairs is simply not enough. also, cleanliness of tables and chairs should definately be checked more often
If you have kids and want to have breakfast - this is the place: they have toys, kids usually hang with other kids and let you enjoy cup of good coffee with artisan bread&avocado&salmon for example.hint: on Saturday try to arrive not early :)
Best food I ever had!!! Definitely worth every penny
Came on a random Tuesday at 1pm. Place was quite empty. Had the toast sampler and all four flavors were really good! Also had their strawberry & ricotta waffle. Also very delicious.
My favorite cafe now that I am a mommy! I love hanging out here whether its by myself with baby or for a meetup with other moms. The food and coffee drinks are delicious! Lots of milk alternatives. My favorite drink is the Lavender Latte! The breads are super yummy too.I love the ambiance and different seating areas - There is the spacious inside seating area with retro kitchen, the play area for small children and the cozy patio in the back. Love, love, love!
This place was great! Great coffee and looked like they had some good food. A lot of families and groups showed up for lunch/brunch. There is this designated play area/room for kids right in the middle. Prior to the brunch/lunch rush, it was a nice quiet spot to get work done, especially in the back outdoor patio area.
Great coffee and food. Quaint. The service is not good (always forget things, double charge, are exceedingly hyper about closing time 1.5 hours beforehand) and are WAY too family friendly. But worth it.
Threw a baby shower here and Maggie is on point. She followed up often even though I was lagging due to travel. On the day of the event, the helper bees lived up to their reputation. They came when things needed to be done, but more or less were just in the background and not obtrusive in any way. Would definitely recommend if youre looking to host a private event there.
Would have been a 5, but itβs a little over crowded. They also have a no screen Saturday rule (?) so they can seat more customers. Seems a little counter intuitive for a coffee shop!Very family friendly and well decorated. Good food too.
For a place known notoriously for its Instagram(ability), I very much enjoyed Mints & Honey. The environment was just lovely with its greenery and open floorplan. The employees were very kind and were open to answering any questions I had on the menu. The food was fantastic, and the coffee, as well. I went at around 11 am and found that it was particularly crowded, however with the many seats, there was no problem in find a place to sit. My food came very quickly and with no complaints on my end ;). I would recommend Mints & Honey to anyone looking for a cute, tasty, brunch or lunch spot.
Very nice place .Im giving 4 because of the parking.
I like their toast
