I wont trust my 2008 Sprinter to just any mechanic. Sprinters are quirky, they require regular care and Tim and his crew provide that for me and my wife. In fact, I think San Diego sprinter owners are lucky we have a dedicated sprinter shop close to us. Hes worked on my glow plugs, torque converter, suspension parts, he does my oil changes and he gives an honest assessment of what is needed and what is not. Ive even been nearly stranded by a check engine light hundreds of miles away and I dont hesitate to text him and get his assessment, even if Ive found a repair place where Im at.

Ive taken my 2010 Sprinter to Sprinter Pit Stop twice now. Tim and his crew of mechanics are awesome. The first time was for suspension work and the second time was to have a propane tank and grey water tanks installed. I am so glad I found this shop. I discovered some rust on the roof of my 2017 sprinter and wanted a good paint job to get rid of it. Tim looked at it and sent an estimate that was good. He also asked about general maintenance and so I decided to do the transmission fluid change with him as I was nearing the 50k miles. In addition he also looked at a speed governor that I have on my van. All of that was done very professionally in 1 week exactly following the estimate time for the work. I am very pleased with the result, my roof is better than new !

My van was overheating when I drove up mountains. They found problem quickly checking pressure in coolant system, but problem was in a fan clutch which made whistle noise when engine worked in a high speed. I was impressed qualification and prices this body shop. They will care you car and fix problem which really exist not just taking money from your pocket not fixing issue like it was happened with me changing radiator in another body shop that was not even problem.

My fiancé and I bought a custom converted Sprinter from Tim and Andrew and it was an all-around fantastic experience. When we made the purchase the van was about 80% complete, so we had an excellent feel for how it would turn out and the level of craftsmanship they put into it. They are clearly engineers; the design was highly functional and well thought out. The bed converts to a long table, the lighting is all recessed, there are fans above both the stove and the bed, and the car radio is wired to the house battery so that we have tunes when we’re parked! From there, we had the opportunity to specify the finishing touches — what color for the mattress cushions and the cabinet doors, a swivel for the drivers seat, an extra table… things like that. They helped us think through some of the trickier aspects, such as how best to handle a large screen map / music display (get a cheap head unit and wire it up to a separate tablet), and how and where to install a table to work while driving. They ordered and installed everything with a smile. They also offered us a 45 day mechanical warranty so that we could drive it around and make sure everything worked properly. As it turned out, the stove didn’t work properly and they happily replaced it.All in all, five stars for price, quality of work, and generally being pleasant to work with. Highly recommend.

Be careful with these guys and their pricing. You should always get a second and even third quote for your sprinter repairs. I took my 2012 sprinter (180k miles) there a few times and it seemed like decent pricing on some smaller repairs. They did good work. Then they quoted me over 10k for several maintenance jobs. I ended up getting other prices and got the work done at a different shop (sprinter repair services) for under 5k. I also didn’t like this shop because it’s very unorganized, they have tons of vans and parts jam packed in their shop

If You have a Mercedes/Dodge or Freightliner Sprinter van, this is probably the best repair shop in San Diego. Theyre full service with Tim handling mecanical and Andrew doing build outs. Theyre not particularly cheap but very knowledgeable and fair. Super nice guys - I would highly recommend!

Came down to work for a week in the Sprinter van and on the way the check engine light came on. My coworker and I were both fairly freaked out. I called Tim and left a message after hours. I showed up promptly at 8 am and he said he was expecting me, immediately ran the diagnostic, and identified that the DEF fluid was just low! He filled it, ran the diagnostic again, and sent me on my way. Would absolutely recommend this place if you have a Sprinter or fleet vehicle that needs serviced. Trustworthy, fast, price was right, and knowledgeable staff.

Worst place ever! The main guy try and tell me my entire sprinter had to be replaced for 15,000 and went down to street to another machanic and fix it on the fly for 800.

Tim and his crew know what their doing, thats the bottom line. They know these vehicles are costly to work on and were able to help get it right with our 08 3500.You cant cut corners on these vehicles and still provide proper repair.

Great no frills shop!Took the advice of others and took my van into Sprinter Pitstop for a 75k mike service. which is fairly in depth on a sprinter. They had me in and out in the same day at a very reasonable rate.Go to a place that knows sprinters like the back of their hand, not theses dealerships that hardly even know how to work on their own vans.

Had a few mechanics tell me I needed to completely replace the turbo in my Mercedes Sprinter. Bids were as high as $4000. Called Sprinter Pitstop and Tim said most dont know what they are looking at and asked that I bring it in. He was right. Didnt need to replace the turbo. Just fix some gaskets. Literally saved me thousands of dollars. These guys know know sprinters!

Tim and his crew did an awesome job on my 06 T1N, I thought it had an exhaust manifold gasket leak that turned into a cracked cylinder head! Tim was able to get the parts and finish my van in a really short time. He explained everything in detail, did what they said they would do and I was back on the road. I travelled from out of town to buy my 06 Sprinter from here. Because I was from out of town I was kind of in a rush and ended up driving away with it without giving them a chance to fix the A/C system. They told me that if I bring it back theyll fix it free of charge. Well, two years later I realized I had forgotten to get it done. I asked them if they would still honor it, and they did, free of charge! I now have cold AC for the first time since buying this van two years ago. They also did a free inspection of my van and gave me suggestions of work I should get done. If thats not a sign of an honest mechanic I dont know what is. Im stoked to own my sprinter and even more stoked to know that if something ever goes wrong I have somewhere I can take it that I trust.

Recently brought my 2016 4x4 sprinter van to Sprinter Pitstop (SP) after a local tire shop accidentally damaged my roof (in their rack) during the service. In the past, I’ve used SP for impeccable mechanical service but never thought of using them for body work until now. Actually, I came to find out that many body shops can’t fit a sprinter in their paint bay - so this made SP an even more logical choice. Long story short, SP knocked it out of the park! Repaired the damage perfectly and it’s always a pleasure to do business with Tim and/or Andrew! If you have a sprinter and want the best service, definitely go and see them. Their shop isn’t fancy, and although they don’t have a picturesque waiting room, they are experts and execute to the highest standards!

Honestly the most trustworthy auto shop owner I’ve ever met. Purchased a 2012 Sprinter from the owner, Tim. Fair deal and really accommodating and easy to work with. Received a 45 day warranty. Had a trouble code on day 44, on short notice had the van looked at with absolutely no hassle. Minor fix was attempted and the code went away. Several months later same code returned. With no questions asked, was able to make an appointment within a few days and the warranty was honored (as the code was first discovered within the warranty period) and the repair was completed within hours of dropping my van off with no charge to me. Will only come here to get work done on my Sprinter. EXCELLENT customer service.

Traveling from Seattle to San Diego, had a MAF code go off on the sprinter. So I searched for sprinter shops near by and came across the Pit Stop. They jumpded on the sprinter as soon as we got there and 10 mins later we were down the road. Awesome experience, would highly recommend.

Came to Tim after working with another sprinter repair business who failed to correct my dpf issues. The previous business did not fully communicate the potential reasons why my sprinter kept going into limp home mode, but still charged me without fully fixing the issue. Tim immediately identified some components that weren’t quite right and ran me through a few options for repairs. I’m super grateful because I had a long distance trip to SF planned for Christmas. Having no power up the steep roads in SF would have been a nightmare! Thankfully, my sprinter drove amazing and my check engine light hasn’t come back since thanks to Sprinter Pitstop! After about 40 hours of my own time, I gave up with an electrical problem and took it to the local dealer. The dealership gave up and pointed to an aftermarket wall-panel installation I had completed as the source of the problem. After another 10 hours of troubleshooting and verifying all the lines the dealership called into question I took the van to Tim. This was a tough one and he said took his team 25 hours but they located the problem and repaired it all for the flat diagnosis fee + parts/repair time. Many thanks and Ill be back for other aftermarket jobs. Thank you!

I drove out there from the Inland Empire because my check engine light came on. They checked it out for me it happened to be the notorious glow plugs. They gave me an excellent price for parts and labor ended up doing it out in the parking lot. They reset my check engine light also.Hands down best service Ive ever had! 👍🏽

Me and my wife bought an 06 T1n from Tim and convertered it a year ago and it has been a super reliable vehicle and home for us over the last 11 months. As first time sprinter buyers we were nervous about spending so much money on a vehicle but Tims professionalism and honesty, along with the excellent 45 day warranty, reassured us that we made the right decision. We found some rust issues under the subfloor which werent visible upon purchase and had a waterpump leak in the 45 day period and both were rectified and covered by Tim even though we live out of state from his shop. A year and 20,000 miles later we are still driving smooth and have had zero problems since . Highly recommended!

I have a 2007 Sprinter that I’ve had Tim basically rebuild for me (alternator, glow plugs, starter, suspension & even a replacement of a panel on the driver side) and he’s always been honest with me about the repairs. Great guys! My Sprinter went into limp-home mode halfway across Arizona. I called them, explained my situation, they reassured me that the van was still driveable, I drove the rest of the way to San Diego, then to their shop, and within 10min they had the diagnosis of the problem. If you want a sprinter to go to 250k miles it has to be done but it is expensive. Sprinter drives great now. Stopped in to talk about my Sprinter and Tim knows his stuff. I then had a buddy that had a bit older sprinter then mine, we changed the fuel filter an had an issue restarting, rang Tim and bam a simple tip, back on road again.

These guys are great! Needed to diagnose check engine light. Dealer wanted almost a week to even let me in the door. These guys had me in and diagnosed in under and hour. Really knowledgeable mechs with all the knowhow and tools for any job. I would recommend anytime. You won’t find a mechanic better for your sprinter.

This is hands down the best shop in Southern California for sprinter vans. I see some reviews complaining the shop is small but its perfect for what they do and they can do everything out of that shop that your van could ever need. Tim and his guys are extremely accommodating and helpful. They know every inch of these vans inside and out. I dont think theres anything they cant do there. I drive all the way from orange county to san diego for these guys. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my van. Tim at Sprinter Pitstop is a master of Sprinter vans. I had brought my Sprinter to two different mechanics to diagnose a squealing noise from under the vehicle. The first wanted to replace the entire linkage and quoted me $6000. The second mechanic had no idea. Tim was able to figure out that it was the driveshaft and gave me a very reasonable price to replace it. He also helped me get it ready for sale, and was able to find a leaky turbo, replaced the seals, and after the vehicle averaged 21+mpgs. It was so refreshing to find a good dependable mechanic, and working with Tim is a first class experience. Thanks again Tim!

Tim knows the cause and solution to your sprinter problem when other mechanic shops want to throw in more parts like darts that dont stick, or really want to throw up their hands and ask for the next customer with an easy problem. After diagnosis, this shop is great for customer service and price.

Bought a 2005 Sprinter from Tim after doing a lot of shopping around. Paid more than the average Craigslist price but got a van with a newly rebuilt transmission that was reliably serviced, had minimal rust and has been running great since we bought it. Sprinter Pit Stop is definitely a no-frills place, but Tim and his team know their stuff and are way more affordable than dealers. The 45 day warranty was only a verbal one, but Tim honored it fixing a few minor things for us when we got back from our first trip. Tim certainly knows sprinters and I feel confident about the van he sold us and the servicing he provides.UPDATE - We bought our van almost a year ago from Tim at Sprinter Pitstop. We have been back to Tim for a few repairs including servicing the newly replaced transmission which he did not charge us for. I highly recommend buying and servicing your sprinter at sprinter pitstop.

LOYAL and HONEST. I have recommended Tim to a number of people and everyone has been extremely happy with their buy. I purchased a 2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500 from Tim in February. My boyfriend and I are renovating it to travel the US. When we bought it we didn’t realize that the back door latches did not connect because they were bent from the previous owners. We texted Tim and he said it’s not under our warranty but bring it in anyway and he will see what he can do. He fixed it for us! We are so grateful for his loyalty to his customers!After, we drove across the country (6000 miles). One day we felt a jolt and then our transmission would not shift out of first gear. We brought it to the nearest Aamco and they quoted us $850 for the fix. Realizing we were still under warranty (10k miles for power train), I texted Tim a picture of the quote and explained what happened. WITHIN MINUTES, he agreed to what aamco diagnostic was and shipped out all the parts were needed to fix our transmission. He also told us that Aamco was over charging us a lot! So we decided to go elsewhere for the labor. If we were in San Diego at his shop he would have done the labor too! We are so happy that Tim is loyal enough to adhere to the warranty even tho we are 2500 miles away!I would 100% recommend the sprinter pitstop to everyone. Best prices, honest workers and if he doesn’t have what you are looking for in a sprinter he will find it for you!
