As far as books go, this place is a mecca for anyone into metaphysics, philosophy, and psychology. Prior to actually walking in they have heavily discounted and free books on display outside. Then the second you walk in its like Bam! all sorts of amazingness. I literally spent 4+ hours in there last week and still did not make my way through the entire store (thats on this weeks agenda :) The owner(?)/staff was super friendly too and they even have deals where if you buy 4 the 5th one is free! This place is definitely dangerous with all its titles and rarities. It definitely reminds me of a meme (of sorts) I once saw that still cracks me up:Im a bookaholic on the road to recovery.Just kidding.Im on the road to the bookstore!(or in my case, the Book Tree!) Charming, idiosyncratic, used bookstore with a well chosen selection of books you will want to read. Nice, helpful manager. It seems too good to be true - its not a Wes Anderson movie set - its real! And, its open quite late so you can pop in after a movie at the Nuart which is a block away. So grateful.

The best stocked travel section Ive ever seen in any book store, hands down! Its downstairs in the basement, do not miss it. Also in the basement are really are high-end vintage poster calendars. They dont really have an order to their shelfing system so it can be hard to find the exact title you are looking, but GREAT for browsing though!

Hands down the best bookstore in San Diego/Cambridge.They have a huge (and cheaply priced) used section in the basement.Large philosophy section for those so inclined.

Yes. Here you must shop.Stay a while. Browse. Ask the owner anything. Hell either know the answer or have the right book for you. Admire his dog. Before you leave: buy books. If you dont, there will be no more used bookstores along Adams Ave. Hes the last one left of the 10-12 that used to be up and down Adams Ave.

I just want to remind everyone that there is still people that take time and help you without trying to sale you something or ask for something in return. I called this store today and was looking for a small record or book store that I visited during Adams Ave event during summer. After speaking to the gentleman who answered the phone, I relised this was not the store I was looking for but he asked me several questions to try to find out and identify the merchant that I was looking for . And he gave me the name and the number of the record store I was looking for.Never been in this store but if they are so nice, helpful and patient to help someone and give them correct info, they defenatly deserve supporting of the community and at least stoping by and say hello to themI wish we had more people like this nice gentleman around.Best of luck to you

This independent bookstore on Broadway is still holding out amongst the major chain bookstores. Browse around if you have some time.
